Speak to Big Bonny — er, Herman — by her house in Silverglade, to see how you can help her fix the clock.

Tools for Repair

big_bonny

Hello Rita.

Now. I’ve been up into the clock tower and taken a little look at the machinery. It’s possible to fix it, in fact for a champion such as myself, nothing is impossible. But just because it’s possible doesn’t mean it’s easy. There’s just one tiny little snag…

When I fled Silverglade Village, I was so angry with myself that I threw all of my tools into the fountain. I forgot that I’d done that. I need them though, otherwise I can’t do anything about that broken clock!

I don’t dare to move an inch outside my door, imagine what would happen if someone recognized me?! You though, my petal, have freedom to roam about unchallenged; nobody suspects you of anything… Ride over to the fountain and collect my precious tools. Ride! Hurry!

Objectives: Find the Clockmaker’s tools in the Silverglade Village fountain.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride down to the fountain the the middle of the town square and fish out the tools. Return to Bonny when you have all of them.

big_bonny

Ooohh, Rita! My tools! My precious tools! Thank you so mu… But… They’re totally ruined! Oh my goldfish, why?! Why does this kind of baloney always happen to me?! MEEEE?!

WHYYY MEEEEEEEEE?!

WHHHHHYYYYYYYY… Cough… Cough…

(You thump Big Bonny on the back.)

______________

Oiling Up the Mechanisms

big_bonny

Even if my tools were repaired, it still would count for nothing. We need oil to lubricate the mechanisms. Actually, quite a lot of oil since it’s stood still for all these years. Who would even have any oil around these parts anyway? Nobody. No chance. Nobody, say I!

What? Steve? Oh yeah, he’s probably got oil.

But even so, dear Rita! It’s still a road to nowhere! It’ll never work! It’s a pathway to defeat! A highway to fiasco!

You want to try anyway? Sigh. Go right ahead if you want to fribble away your time. Here’s an empty oil bottle. Go and talk to Steve if you like…

Objectives: Ask Steve for oil.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride out to Steve’s farm and ask him if he has any oil you can spare.

steve

Oil? Why, yes I do indeed have some black gold right here!

Quest completed

______________

Topping Up the Oil

steve

Y’know there’s oil in that there tank, right Rita?

Hmm? You think it’s diesel? Meh, it’s not that big a difference. One thing you should know about my diesel is that it’s particularly oily diesel, so it’ll work just as well. Trust me! Believe in Steve!

All you need to do is take your bottle and fill it on up. I’m sure you can do that yourself.

Objectives: Fill up the oil from the tank at Steve’s farm.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride over to the large green tank on the outside of the stable building, behind where the for sale Friesians are located. Use the oil can from your inventory, then speak to Steve when you have filled it up.

steve

So there you go! Now you’ve got a full bottle of oil. Or diesel. Or, well, yeah. Diesel oil…

Quest completed

______________

Back to the Clockmaker with the Diesel Oil

steve

And so you have a full bottle of diesel oil, Rita. Hope it’ll be of use! Take care, see ya!

Objectives: Ride back to Big Bonny with the oil.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Check that crisis off our list!

big_bonny

Pfff…

Hmm? You’ve filled the bottle with oil? Ooh! Excellent! Maybe there’s a chance the winds of luck could change after all!

Tools Need to Be Repaired

big_bonny

Ugh, what a disaster… Just as I thought I was going to be able to return to my regular old life, the wicked fingers of chance crush my dreams like crumbly little cookies. How can life be so hideous and unkind?! My tools are destroyed!

If they can be repaired? Never. Impossible. How would that even work?! It’s over now, Rita. It’s all over. Just let me slither back into that sack and you can take me back to the silo.

Sniffle…

Hmm? You want to give a go at repairing the tools?

That’ll only work when pigs fly, my treasure. Useless idea.

What’s that? You have friends who can help you? The blacksmith? Meh, he’s very good, but not even his wonderful, skilled hands could work the kind of magic we need here.

Meh. Nope. Things can’t get any worse than they are now, so it doesn’t matter whether you give it a try or not. You may as well, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work out…

Objectives: Go to the blacksmith with the Clockmaker’s tools.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride to Conrad in Moorland and ask him if he can fix the tools.

conrad_marsdeen

Greetings to you, Rita. Might I help you with something?

The Blacksmith’s Toughest Job

conrad_marsdeen

Repair the Clockmaker’s tools?

These little bundles of nothing aren’t really something I’d usually take a second look at, but because it’s you and you’re asking so nicely, I can make an exception. Anything for my friend Rita…

It’s not a simple project you’re asking me to work on. In fact, it’s probably the toughest thing you could ask a blacksmith to do, even a blacksmith as experienced as I.

In order for me to even begin work on this mighty undertaking, I’ll need your help. You need to find a special type of iron from the heart of Garnok, deep, deep, down in the volcano which sprayed death and destruction all over Jorvik. It’s a perilous journey, full of danger… You’ll be away from the safe embrace of Jorvik for quite some time.

Worry not, little Rita, I’ll help you. In that box over there by the house, there’s a tent you can borrow for the journey. Fetch it and I can tell you more.

Objectives: Fetch the tent and talk to the blacksmith again.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

A tent: the most important of travel provisions.

conrad_marsdeen

Excellent, you’ve got the tent. Good. Now, listen carefully…

Your journey to the heart of Garnok is going to take at least a month, and during that time, you’re not going to be able to see any of your friends or your horses. Horses are forbidden where you’re going, so you’re going to have to leave Summerblaze behind as well. A whole month without your friends or horses. It’s a serious sacrifice but I’m happy I can rely on you to see it through.

So, Rita… Are you ready to start your journey?

Quest completed

Journey to the Heart of Garnok

conrad_marsdeen

Hahaha!

Heeheeheeeee!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I was just joking, Rita! Pulling your leg! Rattling your cage! What a completely world-class joke! I don’t just forge the best tools, I forge the best jokes as well! Pffahahahahahaha!!

Those tools were so easy to repair that I managed to fix the whole lot while you were rummaging around in that box over there.

Heeeeeeeeheeheehee!! What a totally outrageous joke I just released upon you. This joke is going to be talked about by my children… And my children’s children… And my children’s children’s children! In a hundred years, they’ll still be talking about the funniest joke in the history of all Jorvik!

Here are the tools, Rita. Give them to your friend the Clockmaker.

Objectives: Ride back to Big Bonny with the newly-repaired tools.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Who knew stuffy old Conrad had a sense of humor? And a vain one at that…

Big Bonny will be happy to have her tools fixed.

big_bonny

Sigh. It all came to nothing, didn’t it? Just as I predicted, a total disaster. Another disappointment. Another tragic chapter in my heartbreaking story.

If I want to see the tools? Pff. Nah. What difference would it make?

What…? Wait…! They look like new! Have I been released from the claws of fate? Have the winds of my destiny finally changed?!

Quest completed

______________

Master Clockmaker’s Apprentice

big_bonny

Now maybe there’s a chance for us after all Rita! Now the hour is upon us. We’re going to try to repair the clock!

It’s a very serious defect and if I wasn’t such a master clockmaker, I would probably have been forced to give up. But don’t be afraid, young Rita! I shall give you all the knowledge you need to repair it!

Why am I not doing it myself? Well, I’m sure you understand that it was a deeply troubling and emotional experience for me to come back to the scene of my own personal apocalypse, and I genuinely don’t believe I’ll ever be able to go there again. I was about to faint and fall down while I was up there! That could easily have been the end for me… Plummeting to an early grave.

I can’t go back. I won’t go back. And I can’t go back. I’d like very much for you to help me with this, Rita. Not for my sake, but for the sake of the sweet, sweet villagers! Don’t leave them high and dry, forced to live every day in a meaningless, clockless life.

You’ll help me? Miraculously marvelous!

Now I’m going to tell you exactly what you need to do. The most important thing is that you carry out the steps in the right order. If you do it right, the clock will tick once more! If you do it wrong, then you just need to cross your fingers you’ve not flubbed and fumbled it too badly and come back to me so you can have another try.

Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1. Use the wrench on the wheel by the clock face.

Step 2. Pour oil into the big funnel.

Step 3. Use the clock winding key to wind up the spring.

Step 4. Pull the lever to start the clock.

Step 5. Cross your fingers!

Step 6. There are no more steps.

Good luck!

Objectives: Repair the clock like this:

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Dismount your horse to enter the clock tower. If you forget the order of the steps, be sure to check your quest log to view the quest dialogue again. If you are not sure which item to use, click on the sparkles to tell you what to use.

The wheel for the wrench is at the middle of the tower, up two stairs from the entrance.

The funnel is at the very top of the tower, up three stairs from the wheel.

The spring is also at the middle of the tower, down two stairs from the funnel.

The lever is on the same level as the funnel, up two stairs from the spring.

When you and fixed the clock, return to Big Bonny.

big_bonny

You’ve repaired the clock!

Hooray!

I’ve repaired the clock!!

HOORAY FOR ME!!

I’m a hero! A solid gold hero!

I shan’t forget you, Rita. When I’m awarded a medal – a medal of amazingness – I’ll give you a special mention in my acceptance speech!

Quest completed

______________

Give the Council Man the Fantastic News!

big_bonny

Now, not to be too much of a big brash smartypants, but I do rather believe that now I’ll get both the medal and probably some flowers from the Council Man. Maybe he’ll even organize a parade or festival in my honor! I’m pretty certain he’ll be doing that. I can see it now… “Carnival á la Big Bonny!” Ohhhh, today is a wonderful, marvelous, magnificent day, my little Rita. Come on, let’s go!

Objectives: Meet Big Bonny at the Council Man’s place in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

I’m sure the Council Man will be just ecstatic. He’ll jump for joy!

council_man

Oh, hello. Clockmaker Big Bonny… Not seen you for a while.

An Unexpected Anticlimax

council_man

Well, well, Big Bonny! Nice to see you again.

Listen, while you’re here, do you think you could have a look at that broken clock? Nice one.

Hmm? Oh, it’s fixed already. Neat.

Yep, well, excellent. Thanks for that. Now, you’ll have to excuse me, I’ve got lots to be getting on with. Bye.

Objectives: Tell Big Bonny what the Council Man said.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Tell Big Bonny what the Council Man said of her return.

big_bonny

Wh… What did he say?

He hasn’t even noticed I’ve been away… Am I that insignificant? Mmmmeeeeeeehhh, am I not worth more than that?!

An Inconsolable Clockmaker

big_bonny

So, nobody’s even noticed that I’ve been away for five years.

This is horrendous.

I’m worthless. A little, meaningless insect. An ant. A louse. A tiny beetle.

I’m a pointless little cockroach!

Sniffle, sniffle…

Excuse me Rita, I have to return to the silo and live out the rest of my pointless cockroachy days in sorrow and loneliness…

Objectives. Talk to the Council Man again.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Tell the Council Man that Big Bonny is upset.

council_man

Hi Rita, can I help you with something?

Why does Big Bonny look so sad? What’s happened?

What? Cockroach? Oh, now I understand. So she’s lived in exile for years because she made a mistake that she thought would destroy the whole village? Now she’s repaired the broken clock and thought she’d be carried through the streets in celebration?

How should we go about fixing this Rita? Everyone has wristwatches and cellphones these days, there’s nobody who really needs the Town Hall clock, it’s mostly just nice to look at. Hmm… Well we have to try and get Big Bonny in a better word, don’t we Rita? Let me have another word with her.

Quest completed

______________

An Unbelievably Unbelievable Job

council_man

Clockmaker Big Bonny? Please do excuse my earlier performance.

You see, without the Town Hall clock to wake me every morning, I’ve slept so badly recently that I’ve basically turned into a zombie. I think that’s why my reaction earlier was so, umm… Casual. Now the news has had a chance to sink into my head. Not as sharp as I used to be, you see.

What you have done is totally wonderful!

Just think, when you left town we were so completely furious and thoroughly disappointed in you, and we just couldn’t understand how you could have left us with a broken clock. But after some time, we began to understand what a terribly difficult job you had, especially after each and everyone of us tried to get up there and fix the clock, each one of us failing horribly! Now you’re back, and in less than a day you’ve got  everything fixed. You’re a true hero!

As a thank you for your efforts, I hereby declare you Silverglade Clockmaker of the highest order!

Clockmaker Big Bonny, thank you again! Please never leave the village again! We couldn’t survive without you!

Objectives: Talk to Big Bonny.

Rewards: 200 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP, Clockmaker’s Waistcoat

Big Bonny finally gets the recognition she expected!

big_bonny

Oh, Rita I absolutely knew it! Not to be big-headed, but like he said: without me, the village would never survive.

That’s decided: I’ll never leave the village again. Never ever!

Thank you for all your help Rita!

Here’s a lovely little thing for you as a token of my gratitude. Now, I have to get myself home again, because as I’m sure you understand, there’s quite a lot of cleaning to do after five years in exile! Come and visit me should you ever find the time. Goodbye!

The Broken Silverglade Clock

council_man

Hello Rita… Sorry, I didn’t see you there.

Hmm… I just realized something, you see.

Have you seen that the village clock has stopped? You have? To think that I’ve not noticed until just now, and it could have been broken forever and a day! We’ll have to see to this; we can’t have a broken clock, now can we, Rita?

Now listen, couldn’t you run along to see Big Bonny? She’s the village clockmaker, and you can ask her to take a look a look at the clock? Big Bonny? You haven’t met her? Actually, it’s been a while since I’ve seen her myself, now that you mention it.

Well anyway, she lives over there in that yellow house above the steps.

Say hello from me.

A Looooong Holiday

felix

Big Bonny… Hmm…

Meh, I’ve not seen her in years as it happens. Last time I heard from her was when she sent me a postcard, but like I said, that was ages ago. Didn’t I have it with me? Where did I put it?

Hang on…

Yeah! I wonder if I left it somewhere in the clock tower. I remember being up there last year because I thought I heard someone wandering around.

“Big Bonny’s back,” I thought! So I grabbed the postcard and ran up to the tower, but it was totally empty. It was probably just a rat or something rustling around. I guess I forgot to bring the postcard back.

Here! Here’s the key to the clock tower, you may as well go and take a look around for yourself and see what you can find. Take care though, nobody’s been up there for a long time so you never know if something’s broken or dangerous or if it’s been turned into some kind of horrible death trap.

Good luck! Come back when you’ve found the postcard, and try to avoid falling to a horrific death!

Objectives: Unlock the clock tower and find the postcard. Afterwards, take it back to Felix.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The entrance to the clock tower is at the top of the steps between Felix and the Council Man. Dismount your horse to use the key to unlock the door. Once inside the clock tower, go up the steps to the top of the tower to find the postcard. When you have picked it up, go back down the steps to exit the tower, then return to Felix.

Well, if it isn’t the postcard! Lovely, thanks! Now let’s take a look at whether we can make sense of this. The Clockmaker’s handwriting looks like a spider tap danced all across the page!

Country Living

Let’s have a look if we can’t make sense of this here postcard…

“Hello Felix, my old pal! Ooh, it’s lovely to be on holiday! I think I’m going to stay here with Barney. He’s promised me I can sleep in his silo as long as I’m out of the way in the mornings so he can clear out the seeds and grains. It smells pretty nasty and the flies are driving me crazy, but that’s all part of the country charm! I like it! Really! Like, really really! I swear!

Sometimes, though… Sometimes I wish I could come home again, but that’s impossible after all that’s happened, you know? Ugh, I get so shaky and nervous just from thinking about the disaster I caused. Maybe you can come by and say hello sometime when the dust has settled a little? All you have to do is knock on the pipes outside the silo and I can pop out and greet you!

Listen, please don’t tell anyone where I am. This whole business has been terribly embarassing.

Your friend,

Clockmaker Big Bonny”

Hmm… Well Rita, she’s mad as a box of frogs, that Big Bonny, but she’s my friend. I never understood what she meant by the embarrassing incident she wrote about, but I thought it would probably sort itself out if she just rested a little bit.

But hey. The postmark is like five years old, so it really was a while ago. It’s crazy how fast time can fly by. Can you go visit Barney and ask him if he’s seen Big Bonny lately?

Objectives: Go and ask Barney if he knows where Big Bonny’s gone.

Ride out to Barney’s silo and ask if he has seen Big Bonny lately.

Good day! Can I be of some assistance?

Clockmaker? Hmm… Yeah, she lived in my silo for quite some time. But I haven’t seen her for a while, probably at least a year.

The Pipes Lead the Way

barney

Where Big Bonny the Clockmaker is…? That’s the question of the day.

Hmm… She was never especially social; as soon as she saw me, she’d go completely red in the face and then climbed into the pipe as quickly as she could. I usually leave out a few turnips and potatoes from my fields so that she doesn’t starve to death, and they’re still disappearing… Probably means she’s still around here somewhere.

You want to meet her, eh?

I suppose the only thing to do is to clamber into the silo and see if you can find her there; it’s pretty much the only place she could be.

You just have to squeeze in through this pipe here and crawl along until you come out inside the silo. I’ve no idea how it looks in there anymore; since I started with potatoes and turnips, the silo has mostly stood empty. Anyway, good luck, I’ve got to get back to work but say hey to Big Bonny if you see her!

Objectives: Climb into Barney’s silo through the pipe and look for the Clockmaker.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Why are you here? You’ve been looking for me? Why? What for?

Fix the clock in Silverglade?!

Oh my good giddy gracious, has the past finally caught up with me? I’ve dreaded this day for years… Ah, poor me! Why does this kind of thing always happen to me?

WHY?! WHY MEEEEEE?!

WWHHHYYY… Cough… Cough…

(You give Big Bonny another whack on the back.)

Ohh thank you. You seem to be terribly nice. What are you even called? Rita? Lovely! Well then, Rita, allow me to tell you everything that’s happened, and you’ll soon understand why my situation is more wretched and rotten and stinking and shocking than any other person in the whole world has ever experienced.

Objectives: Listen to the Clockmaker’s tale of woe.

It’s a terrible, terrible story to be sure…

big_bonny

Once upon a time, many long, long years ago, there was a day that began in exactly the same way any other day might begin. I’d been helping the tailor in Silverglade Village with the repair of his sewing machine, and my next task was to wind up the Town Hall clock, in exactly the same way any other clock might be wound up, in exactly the same way I’d done every week for years.

To keep that clock going is one of the most important… NO! THE most important job in the whole village. Without a functioning clock, it would be a total disas… Well. I’m sure you understand for yourself what kind of massive catastrophe it would be.

Anyway!

When I walked through the village on my way to the Town Hall, all the villagers smiled at me and I could see the pride in their eyes as they looked at me. I could see it. In their eyes. The pride. And it felt gooood. I went up into the tower, took out my special clock winding key and began tightening the spring… And then. It happened.

THE CATASTROPHE OF CATASTROPHES!!

CATATATATATATATATASSSSSSSTROPHE!!

I wound the key in the wrong direction, Rita. I was so full of myself after seeing all the villagers with their smiles and the pride in their eyes that I wound. The key. In the wrong. Direction.

The cogs clogged! The springs sprung! The oil spoiled! And the clock STOPPED. For the first time since it started.

I was in a total state of panic. In my total state of panic, I ran straight home to my house, threw together all of the most important belongings and fled the village so fast as I could with tears in my eyes and sorrow in my soul.

You understand now, Rita. As punishment for my crime, I sent myself into exile. There’s no way in the world to make amends for this atrocity, and I could never dream of winning back the trust of my darling villages… ‘m doomed to die here. In the silo. Surrounded by loneliness and wasps. Hated, cast away, forgotten…

A Retreat of the Utmost Secrecy

big_bonny

Right. Wait. What? You want me to follow you back to the village and repair the clock?!

IMPOSSIBLE!

Have you understood nothing about my horrible, horrible story?

I would simply die of shame if I showed my face there ever again. I’d die a deadly deadening death right there as the villagers spat at me, threw their rotten fruit at me, and said horrible, horrible words to me!

Hang on, say what?

If I repair the clock then maybe they’ll forgive me? Is that what you think, Rita? Do you really believe it could be so?!

Then this… This is my chance!! If I repair the clock then they’ll welcome me back into the clock, like a clock-repairing lost sheep!! They’ll love me again! I just know it!

But, wait. I can’t be seen in that place until that clock is ticking again.

Rita! You need to come up with a way to sneak me home without anybody seeing me! Oh please!

You’ll see what you can do? Stupendous! Tremendous! Hurry now, come up with something soon! My return to Silverglade Village can’t wait a minute more! The clock is ticking. Or not. But yes! Hurry!

Objectives: Find a way to transport Big Bonny back to Silverglade in secret.

Maybe something outside will give you an idea. Go back down the rope and out the pipe to find some inspiration in the fresh air. When you have found your idea, return to Big Bonny.

big_bonny

A sack.

You want me to crawl into a sack? This sack here?

It’s not exactly how I’d imagined traveling…

Quest completed

______________

We’ll Meet Outside the Silo

big_bonny

Meh. Me Ride in a sack? Doesn’t seem exactly suitable for a hero’s return… You can’t think of anything better than this?

No?

Ah well.

By the honor of Silverglade Village, I shall subject myself to whatever danger and pain may come my way! Meet me outside the silo Rita and I’ll gleefully grapple myself into that sack. First though, my most important belongings must be packed up. I’ll be right there.

Objectives: Meet Big Bonny outside Barney’s silo.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Slide down the rope and meet Big Bonny outside.

big_bonny

So, yes. You’ll notice I have arrived before you. I used the pipe as a sort of adventure slide: very effective, but nothing I would recommend for an inexperienced adventure slider like you, Rita.

But here we are. Here we all are: a clockmaker, a rider, and a sack. Who would have thought these three unlikely heroes would save Silverglade Village from this calamitous cataclysm?!

What am I talking about?

It’s all so clear now.

I’ve finally understood what all of this means.

When I fled Silverglade, I was so young and immature; my ego was so bruised that I couldn’t look my sweet, sweet neighbors in the eyes anymore. BUT! That was wrong of me! It was wrong! I was wrong! Selfish! Morally bankrupt! Unacceptable!

Quest completed

______________

In a Sack. On a Horse. On the Way to the Village.

big_bonny

Do you understand now Rita?

When I disappeared and left that broken clock and all those broken dreams behind me, it was only a matter of time before the whole village went under!

For all this time, I’ve been sitting up there in the silo feeling sorry for myself but in reality it was all the villagers I left behind who were the real victims of my stupidity. Finally, I’ve opened my eyes to the role I have to play in life. Without me, Silverglade would meet its demise, maybe even all of Jorvik. Actually I’m basically one hundred percent certain all of Jorvik would perish…

No time to lose!

Now we have to get back to the village. I’ll get straight into the sack! Gallop like the wind straight to my house in Silverglade! Hurry! Put you foot on the gas! The, umm, horse gas! No time to lose!

(Big Bonny jumps into the sack.)

Objectives: Ride with the Clockmaker in the sack to her house in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

This is probably one of my favorite rides in the whole game.

big_bonny

NNFFF! Are we there yet?

Quest completed

______________

Incognito in Silverglade

big_bonny

Rita… Is there anyone here?

No? Are you sure?

Okay, well here’s the key to my house. Unlock the door and I’ll fling myself inside before anyone has a chance to see me.

Okay… Hold on… Nobody there? Ready? Good.

Hold it…

Hooooold it…

Objectives: Unlock the door to Big Bonny’s house.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Dismount your horse and approach the steps to unlock the door for Big Bonny.

big_bonny

Hello you. Good day. My name is Herman. I own a stable. I am a horse lover. I love horses. Hellooo.

Haha! It’s only me, Rita! The Clockmaker! Big Bonny!! Oooooh-hoo-hooooo so sorry if I left you feeling a little confused, you really thought it was Herman who emerged from my door. Hahaha! Ooh!

Don’t be ashamed, it’s a very good disguise. The best thing about this is that if you didn’t recognize me, then no other silly sap will recognize me either!

Quest completed

Return to Big Bonny tomorrow.

There is a new person in town in Jarlaheim. He has a shop he wants help setting up. Speak to him near the town square.

A Warm Welcome

zed

Are you the one that’s supposed to help me with my shop? Excellent!

What’s your name, by the way? Rita? Cool name! I’m Zed, and I’m the store manager of the new shop opening up in Jarlaheim. In my opinion, there’s way too little rock ‘n’ roll in these parts, so I thought I’d open up a shop with punk inspired clothing? Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I have tons of marketing work to do prior to the opening, and was hoping you could help me get this thing started?

Oh, cool! How nice of you to help me!

First I’ll show you where the store’s gonna be located. Come, let me show you!

Objectives: Find Zed, he’ll show you where the new store’s going to be located.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings 10 XP

Find Zed near the Heavy Metal Scissors salon, which is on the rear alley on the north side of Jarlaheim.

zed

Here we go! This is the spot where we’re gonna set up shop. Gonna be awesome, right?!

Let’s roll!!

Quest completed

______________

Borrowed Tools

zed

Now that you know where the stall’s gonna be, we need to get started on the assembly of it. I don’t have any tools for these things, but I know Builder Donald has plenty of tools we might have use for. Couldn’t you get over there and ask him nicely if we might borrow them?

Off you go! Have a chat with the old man and let’s hear what he has to say.

Objectives: Ask Donald about the tools you want to borrow.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride to the west gate and speak to Builder Donald near his house there.

mr_bucket

Hi there, Rita! You want to borrow some of my tools?

Sure you can, no problem! Let’s see… You want to borrow a hammer and a crowbar? Oh… I don’t have those at the moment.

Quest completed

______________

Forgetful Angus

mr_bucket

Angus Goldspur has them. That lazy son of a gun should have returned them ages ago, but he’s probably… Forgotten. Or something.

I recommend you speak to Angus, he shouldn’t be needing those tools any further. Travel to the Goldspur estates and hear what he has to say. Give him my regards as well, I don’t want him to think I’ve forgotten.

Ha ha! No, leave that be. I’m just yanking your chain.

Objectives: Travel to the Goldspur estates and speak to Angus about the tools.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Speak with Angus up at the Goldspur farm.

angus_goldspur

Welcome back, Rita! Been a while since I saw you, what do you want this time?

Borrow Builder Donald’s tools? I’ve almost forgotten about those trashy old tools. *cough*

Of course you can borrow them! As long as Donald has agreed to it. After all they are his, and I don’t need them any more.

Quest completed

______________

One Step Closer

angus_goldspur

So, here they are!

Now that you’ve got the tools, you should continue whatever you were doing. What was that, exactly? Oh? You’re opening a new store? Exciting! I think you should return to Zed and tell him you’ve got the tools needed to assemble this stall.

Good luck!

Objectives: Travel to Jarlaheim and speak to Zed.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Return to Zed with the tools.

zed

Nice! We’re one step closer to being finished. Excellent!

Let me just check that we have everything we need to start building.

Quest completed

______________

Where’s the Nails?

zed

Know what, Rita? What a blunder. My little noggin’s not working properly at times. I’ve lost the nails I had earlier, clever huh? I think I lost them when I carried home some tools for my dad. I was simply dragging around too much.

Oh well. Even I make blunders from time to time. At least I know I’ve lost the nails here in Jarlaheim somewhere. Have a look around and you’ll probably find them.

Objectives: Locate packs of nails in and around Jarlaheim.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Search the indicated locations to find all of the missing nails. When you have them all, return to Zed.

zed

You found them? Awesome! Then we can finally start building. It’s about time!

Quest completed

______________

Time to Build!

zed

Now that we have everything prepared, it’s time to get this thing assembled. Wish I could help you, but I suck at these things. I’m just good at music these days. Everything you need can be found in this heap, at least. Just use a hammer or whatever, and everything will be fine!

Objectives: Assemble the stall for opening.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Dismount your horse and use the tools in your inventory to build the shop stand. When you are finished, speak to Zed.

zed

Finished already? Clever girl… And fast too! This will be perfect, I think we’ll get lots of fans.

Quest completed

______________

What’s Up With the T-Shirts?

zed

We have a few things that needs to be done. I’ve ordered t-shirts for the store from our printer Daisy, who’s also my awesome girlfriend. She’s really good at fixing rad prints for clothing, we’re gonna have tons more stuff like this from her in the future. I’m really lucky to have such a skilled girlfriend who can fix me up with stuff like this!

Anyhow, I haven’t spoken to her all day, and I’d like to know how the tees are coming along. If they’re like, finished and stuff. Go speak to her. She’ll be by the cafe at the docks below Jarlaheim. Let’s hope she’s done already!

Objectives: Ask Daisy about the T-shirts.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Find Daisy at the top of the stairs coming from the ferry dock.

daisy

Hi girl, who are you? Oh, you’re working with my sweet Zed? Cool!

What’s up with the tees? Well, they’re moving along, not far from being done. The only problem is that I’ve run out of ink…

Quest completed

______________

Not Easy with a Sprained Leg

daisy

This is how it goes, Rita.

I need to get more ink, but you see, I’ve sprained my leg. Things can get pretty wild at rock concerts, but you probably don’t know what I’m talking about. Oh well. Anyhow, I’ve placed an order for ink and I think it’s been transported to the docks at Fort Pinta. Speak to the one responsible for the transport, and he’ll give you the colors.

I know it’s a bit far, but we have ferries now, why don’t you take a ride with them? They’re pretty cool, and the trip is so much faster.

There’s a ferry that goes to Fort Pinta from the docks here. If you don’t want to, you could always ride there. Do as you like, it’s just a suggestion.

It would be really nice if you helped me!

Objectives: Collect the ink in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Speak with James in Fort Pinta, he should know where the ink is.

james

Hi there!

Are you here for the ink I’m delivering to Daisy?

Quest completed

______________

A Sloppy Dock Worker

james

The ink is supposed to be in one of the barrels on the pier below Fort Pinta. I’ve accidentally mixed them all together, so I can’t tell which one contains your ink. But have a look around, and I’ sure you’ll find it!

Objectives: Find the right ink.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride down to the docks and inspect the barrels scattered around there. When you have found the one containing the ink, return to James.

james

You finally found the ink, excellent! I’m sorry for the trouble, I’ll keep better track of the barrels next time.

Quest completed

______________

Filling the Ink

james

There you go, everything’s ready.

Thank you for coming so quickly. Would have been boring to wait here all day. But that didn’t happen! Return to Daisy and give her the ink, I think she needs it as quickly as possible.

So long!

Objectives: Return to Jarlaheim and give Daisy the ink.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Return to Daisy via your own preferred method and speak to her by the docks.

daisy

Oh, nice! You got the ink! Now I can finally start coloring the tees. I can safely say they’re gonna be super awesome!

It’ll take some time. The tees need to dry as well. Have patience, girl! Come back tomorrow and they’ll be done and dry. I’ll get to work straight away.

Bye for now, peace!

Quest completed

Return to Daisy tomorrow.

When you have become Admired with the Goldspur Family, you can now enter the extra challenging Greendale Race. Visit Morgana, down from Molly, to start the race.

Check Out the Challenging Greendale Race

morgana

So, you are Rita, huh? I’ve heard about you.

Hmpf.

Believe me, you’re not ready for the challenging Greendale race.

However, Angus and Idun have told me you’re allowed to enter the competition, so what am I to do?

Alright. Check it out if you like. Finish the race, show me you can ride. Do that, and I’ll let you do it for real.

…What are you waiting for?

Objectives: Finish the race.

Rewards: 500 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

This track is probably one of the most challenging ones in the game currently. It took me at least four or five attempts the first time, so be sure to take your time and be careful to make it through the checkpoints and finish the race.

morgana

So you eventually finished.

Hmpf.

Beginner’s luck.

But I hold true to my word. Come back if you want to enter the competition for real. Now, get lost.

Quest completed

You can now run the Challenging Greendale Race as a daily race.

There is a new pet shop opening in Jarlaheim, across from Gavin’s place. Speak to the owner, Amelia.

New Friendship

amelia

Hi there, are you Rita? Cool! So awesome that you came by.

I’m Amelia, and I work here at Pet Shop Girls. I see to it that all the cute animals are comfortable and have everything they need!

I’m usually very busy with our webpage and web shop, so I’m looking for someone to help me take care of the shaggy, little fur balls.

You seem like a fun girl, I’m sure we’ll be good friends as well!

By the way, you have a beautiful horse! Is it a Burma? Or, hold on, that’s a cat. Truth be told, I know absolutely NOTHING about horses, I just know they’re fun to ride. But nothing else, so I think you’ll have to teach me a thing or two about horses, else I’ll be mixing horses with toasters… Not that toasters and horses look alike at all, but oh well!

Your horse is called Summerblaze, you say? That’s a nice name. I would never be able to think of such a cool name for my dog. Suffice to say his names is Ernst, hehe…

Objectives: Talk to Amelia about how you can help her with Pet Shop Girls.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

There is lots of things to be done!

amelia

So here’s the thing: I need some help around the store, and I would also love to get to know you a little better while we’re at it.

Sounds like a good idea? Perfect, let’s get going!

Quest completed

______________

Out of Cats

amelia

I need to ask a favor of you, Rita.

A woman came by and bought ALL our cats! We don’t have any left! That woman must really love cats, and I’m sure the small mousers will be nuts about living with her.

However, my store is so silent and lifeless without any kitties, so I need to get my hands on some new cats I can snuggle! I know the pet shop in Fort Pinta has an abundance of kittens. They hardly have room for all of them and the situation is dire, which is perfect, because now I can bring some of them here!

The security guard in Fort Pinta is helping to find new homes for them, and he is more than willing to let me take them. He thinks it’s heartbreaking to see all those cats sit on top of each other because of the lack of space.

I know it’s a bit far, but it would really be of great help if you could go there and get those cats for me. I can hardly wait for them to arrive!

Objectives: Travel to Fort Pinta and speak to the security guard.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Sorry, ahem. That would have been me, the crazy cat hoarder. I honestly have all of the cats in the game, haha.

You can either ride to Fort Pinta or take the blue ferry boat there.

Speak to Security in front of the Fort Pinta disco.

security

PARDON?

Cats to Amelia?

I’ve been ordered to hand out a delivery of recruits to a certain commander Amelia. I understand she has authorized you to pick them up here in Fort Pinta. They’ve been nice comrades, so it’ll be sad to see them go, but orders are orders.

Quest completed

______________

A New Home

security

ATTEEEENTION!!!

I hereby leave the command of the recruits, also called the kittens, to you, Rita. I wish you good luck, and hope the journey back to Jarlaheim goes well.

Objectives: Bring the cats to Amelia.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Return to Amelia via your route of choice. Ride carefully with your cuddly precious cargo.

amelia

Would you look at that, such cute kittens… They’re simply irresistible! Almost so much I’d want to keep them all myself, but my home would probably become a bit crowded.

Quest completed

______________

Hungry Rabbits

amelia

The rabbit food has started to run out and the poor things are starting to get hungry. Someone needs to get more food for them as soon as possible.

Filip on the Sunfield farm makes his own rabbit food on the farm, it’s a new hobby he has started doing. Hopefully also because he wants his own rabbits to benefit from the best food they can get. It’s so cute that he’s so anxious about his own animals. He’s simply a true friend of animals.

If, at some point, you’re in need of tips and hints about animal care, just pay Filip a visit! I’m sure he’ll be glad to help.

In any case, fetch a sack of Filip’s best rabbit food and bring it afterwards to me. He’s awaiting you at the Sunfield farm.

Objectives: Fetch the food from Filip at the Sunfield farm.

Rewards: 25 with Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Ride to the Sunfield farm, outside of Jorvik Stables, and speak to Filip about getting some rabbit food.

filip_sunfield

Hi again, Rita! Good to see you.

I heard you were coming to get some rabbit food for the pet shop in Jarlaheim? We collaborate from time to time. I give Amelia food for the animals, while she helps out on the farm. We need that from time to time, as you already know, some people on the farm can be a bit lazy…

Quest completed

______________

Yummy Rabbit Food

filip_sunfield

Here’s a sack of yummy food that those rabbits are gonna love. Made from my best, home-grown produce, this food will make the rabbits go crazy with happiness.

The sack is a bit heavy, but you should do just fine. Give Amelia my regards.

Objectives: Leave the rabbit food with Amelia.

Rewards: 25 with Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Return to Amelia with the rabbit food.

amelia

Great, you’re back! That was fast! Now the rabbits will be happy.

Quest completed

______________

Hungry Dogs

amelia

The dog food has run out as well. The dogs can become a bit rowdy when hungry, so we better get the food before they find their own food supply and eat that instead.

Travel to my sister Johanna who takes care of Jorvik Stables. It’s good to have a sister that one can buy cheap dog food from. It’s nice to know so many different people around here that can help out with things!

Objectives: Fetch the dog food from Johanna at Jorvik Stables.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Speak with Johanna, out front of the stable.

johanna

Hi there, I take it you’re here to get dog food for Amelia?

I thought as much. You’re always there for people when they need you! My sister is very happy you’ve helped her this much, it’s appreciated. She’s had so much to do lately, in addition to helping Filip with his animals some times too. Poor thing barely has time for herself these days.

Hopefully it helps a lot having you around.

Quest completed

______________

A Loaded Sack

johanna

The sack of dog food is somewhere on the farm. Find it and bring it afterwards to Amelia.

Say hi to Amelia from me!

Objectives: Leave the dog food with Amelia.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Search the different sacks around in the stables area until you find the one with the dog food in it. When you have found it, take it to Amelia in Jarlaheim.

amelia

Thank you! Now I have lots of dog food, though it’ll run out quick enough. You can safely say, those dogs are greedy!

Quest completed

______________

Hungry Cats

amelia

Oh dear, now the cat food is out, and the kitties are screaming for more! I feel sorry for those mousers sometimes, but I’m just being overprotective as usual. Oh well…

You’re more than welcome to get some cat food from my best friend Catherine. She’s not only the owner of Jarlaheim’s cafe, she also happens to sell the best cat food in the entire Harvest Counties. It’s not only healthy, it’s also very filling, making the cats eat less food than if they’d eaten regular cat food. Doesn’t that sound good?

I’ve phoned her and told her you’ll probably come by and pick up the cat food, so she’s prepared for your arrival.

It would be great if you went there!

Objectives: Fetch the cat food from Catherine down by the cafe near the harbor.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Ride down to the Stablebucks cafe and speak with Catherine.

catherine

Hi, Rita! Nice to see you, as usual! Hope everything is well with you. I guess you’re here for the cat food? Excellent.

It’s so nice that everything is working out for Amelia with the pet shop. She’s really fought hard for this, and it’s so good of you to help her out.

Sometimes Amelia’s family and I don’t have time to step in, so it’s good to have someone extra to lean on from time to time!

However, I won’t take up any more of your time. I’m known to just yap on, haha!

Quest completed

______________

A Load of Cat Food

catherine

Here’s the sack of cat food. I promise the kitties will be happy. It’s made from the best produce, so at least there’s no chance the cats will get upset tummies from this!

Bye for now, see you soon!

Objectives: Leave the cat food with Amelia.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP, Brown Cat Tee

Return to Amelia with the cat food.

amelia

Then that’s taken care of. Catherine knows how to make cat food!

Day 77, A Traveling Horse Market; Fort Pinta

Tags

The following quests are only available when the market is at Fort Pinta.

Bored Horses at the Market

ferdinand

Dearest Rita, it’s really lovely that you’ve come to visit us. You’re a little ray of sunshine sent to brighten up our day, believe me! If you have some time on your hands, maybe you could help me with a little errand? Oh, wonderful Rita, you’re too kind!

Y’know, our horses are a bit bored after travelling all the way here on the barge; there’s not really very much for them to do. I thought maybe if we could give them some sugar lumps it might improve their mood! The security guard here in Fort Pinta is an old friend of ours, perhaps you could ask him if he has a few sugar lumps spare for us?

Thanks Rita, come back when you’ve got the sugar lumps and you’ll see that the horses will be in a much better mood!

Objectives: Ask the security guard at Fort Pinta for some sugar lumps.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride up to the entrance to the disco and speak with Security there.

security

WHAT?!

Sugar?! Sugar?!

Here, as Allied soldiers tumble down the cliffs like lemmings, you’re asking for sugar?

Quest completed

______________

Caution: Fall Hazard!

security

TEN-HUT!

Sugar… I hardly think you’d find any sugar here. In the middle of a terrible natural catastrophe we don’t exactly have the time for such civil frivolities! Right this second we’re in the midst of a disaster of apocalyptic proportions that frankly demands the total engagement and dedication of everybody involved!

What do you mean why am I so upset?! UPSET?!

Hmm? Calm down? Me?

Err…

Yes, well, yesterday as I was patrolling the base and inspecting the fortifications to ensure infiltrators couldn’t get in and that no tourists got lost in the fort, I almost walked right off the edge of the cliff! I was peering through my binoculars to check for enemies as I patrolled and didn’t exactly notice that I was so close to the edge. I was an inch from toppling right over into the sea, and it was only my superior commando training that saved me! What kind of training? Umm…

Yes! I was actually the Jorvik junior tap champion when I was younger… That’s actually really very much like commando training if you don’t mind!

ANYWAY! Now I’ve made these marvelous hazard signs that must be erected so that the same thing doesn’t happen to some standard civilian. Private Rita! ATTENTION! You’re hereby ordered to install these signs in appropriate locations along the fortifications.

MOVE OUT! FORWAAARD MARCH!

Objectives: Put up the hazard signs around Fort Pinta and come back to talk to the security guard.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride around the fort and place the signs in the indicated locations, then return to Security when you are finished.

security

ATENNN-SHUN!

Are all the hazard signs in place?

Quest completed

______________

Report Back to Base

security

TEN-HUT! Don’t just stand here loitering, Private Rita. Here’s your sugar just as we agreed. Report back t General Ferdinand immediately. Between you and me, I’ll be recommending you for a medal for your heroic contribution here today.

Hmm…

MOVE OUT! FORWAAAARD MARCH!

Objectives: Ride to Ferdinand with the sugar lumps.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Return to Ferdinand with the sugar cubes.

ferdinand

Ooh, I see you’ve got sugar lumps with you! Now our horses are going to cheer right up, I’m sure.

Quest completed

______________

Horses on the Loose

ferdinand

Oh no Rita, not again! All the horses have gotten loose!

Dear, oh dear, when they got the sugar lumps they cheered right up… Maybe they got a bit too cheerful. After being stuck on the barge for so long, they all went bananas when they got the sugar and just ran away.

Sure, they needed some activity but they can’t just bolt like that. This happens every time we come to Fort Pinta. I reckon they were just bluffing when they looked so down in the mouth earlier; they knew they’d get sugar from me and then they ran away. I could swear they’ve gone and hidden themselves in the fort, just as they always do.

Can you look for them Rita? If you find them, they’ll come back here afterwards. Sometimes it drives me crazy when they’re this naughty, but I suppose it would get awfully dull without a little drama, don’t you think?

Good luck Rita, and don’t forget to have a really good look, they’re surprisingly good at hiding themselves, these nutty nags!

Objectives: Find all the horses that have hidden themselves in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Find all of the horses hiding in the fort. There are several places they could be, though it is different for each player. Some of the locations include: inside the disco (you will have to dismount to approach this horse), up on top of the fort, near the stable, near the fort statue, near the hairdresser, on the pony barge. Their locations will be indicated on your map, so they should not be too hard to find.

Simply approach the horse to ‘find’ it. When all of the horses have been found,  return to Ferdinand.

ferdinand

Haha, you did good Rita. All the horses have returned. We won’t be falling for their monkey business again next time we come here, let me tell you!

Quest completed

______________

Rent for the Horse Market in Fort Pinta

eddie

Hi Rita, do you think you can help me with an errand? I haven’t got time to leave the market right now, but I need to pay the rent. You’re someone I trust, so I can rely on you to deliver this envelope of Jorvik Shillings? It needs to get to James in Fort Pinta, which shouldn’t take long for an expert rider like you.

You’d do that for me? Thanks Rita!

Objectives: Give the envelope of Jorvik Shillings to James in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride up to James and deliver the envelope for Eddie.

james

Hey there Rita. You’re here with the rent from Ferdinand and Eddie? Great!

Quest completed

______________

A Big Thank You From Ferdinand and Eddie

ferdinand

Dearest Rita, you’ve really been a huge help for us here in Fort Pinta. If you hadn’t helped us to find all the horses, we’d have been forced to search for the all night long.

Eddie and I had a little chat earlier on, and we both decided that we wanted to give you a gift, you know, to say thanks for all you’ve done for us. Eddie has been fixing it up and I think she’s finished now. You go talk to her and you’ll get a really lovely present from us, and nope, I’m saying nothing about what it is. Hi Rita! Now you get to see what I’ve fund for you in our caravan. It’s so lovely, it was embroidered by an old friend of ours and I wore it a lot when I was younger. It doesn’t really suit my beautiful body these days, hehe! But here, it’ll look perfect on you. Here you go! See you soon Rita.

Starshine Legacy Episode 1 – Chapter 7: The Competition

chapter7

The day of the tournament has come and now it is time to see if Lisa and Starshine can repeat the great ride from the forest. Sabine will be the opponent and she obviously doesn’t like Lisa, but Lisa won’t let that get her down. She has found good friends in the other girls, and most of all in Starshine.

lisa

This is the tournament day! I’d better go and talk to Mr Herman and the girls so I’m fully prepared.

New objective: “The day of the competition. I’d better talk to Mr Herman.”

Walk over to the others near the fence of the competition arena.

herman

So the day has come, Lisa. You’ve already proven what a courageous and resourceful girl you are. This is a race between you and Sabine.. Kaahn is fast, but Starshine should have a fair chance.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

josh

I’m cheering for you, Lisa. I hear that you play music, too? No matter how this turns out, I’d love to hear you play someday. Here’s my number. Give me a call when you have the time.

In comes Sabine. Oh joy…

sabine

Hi, Lisa. Today you and that stupid albino horse will be so humiliated Oh, hi, Josh. What are you doing slumming with the punk girl?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

josh

Hi Sabine, hi Kaahn – I’m just wishing her good luck, that’s all.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

anne

Go get her, Lisa. Now get up in the saddle and believe in yourself… And in Starshine.

Go and mount Starshine to get ready for the race.

herman

The race is divided into three rounds. To complete one round, you must manage three laps around the race track.

The first one over the finish line after three laps is the winner of the round!

The best of all three rounds will be the overall winner of the tournament!

It’s time to start.

You’re now taken to the starting line of the race.

herman

You know the rules. Remember, three laps, three rounds. Best of all three rounds is the winner. Let the best rider win!

New objective: “I need to beat Sabine in at least two of the three competition heats”

It is not impossible to pass Sabine if she gets ahead of you, but it is easier to win if you pass her right at the beginning. She is clumsy and runs into the hay bales around the track (especially the ones around the two short turns). These bales can get pushed into your way and cause you to lose ground in the race.

The races get tedious, but they are short and easy to win.

Win at least two of the three to win the tournament.

If you do not win the tournament, you will have to repeat all three races.

herman

You did it, Lisa! I’m so happy that you decided to come to the stables.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

anne

You did great, Lisa! It’s really funny because this whole thing with Starshine has really made us all – Linda, Alex, you and me – very good friends.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Yes, it is great, and I’m sure this is the beginning of a long and wonderful friendship.

Starshine Legacy Episode 1 – Chapter 6: The Woods

chapter6

Something is haunting Lisa in the dark woods, rapidly. There is no time for safe riding now, and wherever the path leads them, it has got to be better than being caught by the thing following them. A fast, dangerous and treacherous road awaits Lisa and Starshine, and Lisa can only trust her instinct to let him loose.

The Dark Rider has been released on your tail. Run like your life depends on it!

Follow the direction signs and blue stars to find your way through the forest to escape the Dark Rider. If you get caught, you’ll be sent back to an earlier checkpoint.

lisa

The cloaked rider didn’t follow us here. The rider is stopping by the edge of the abyss. Good for us.

What is this place? It looks strange and ancient.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

starshine

Look – on that stone… What are those pictures? Is that a picture of me?

stonering

lisa

I don’t know, Starshine, this looks strange – it looks like us, but then again, not. I must show this to the other girls.

New Times at the Goldspur Estate

angus_goldspur

Hi Rita! Great news!

Listen to this. Filip Sunfield is buying a new horse transport, and he’s giving the old one to us! It’s really about time we got our own horse transport, don’t you think? It makes it so much easier to travel to our estate.

Could you ride over to Filip and tell him we’re ready to accept it? You can? Thanks, Rita, and please give my regards to everyone at the Sunfield farm.

Objectives: Speak to Filip Sunfield.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Ride down to the Sunfield farm, outside Jarlaheim, and speak to Filip.

filip_sunfield

Hi there, Rita. Are you here about the horse transport? I’ve already sent it off, didn’t it arrive?

Quest completed

______________

Transport Trouble

filip_sunfield

Hmm, this is odd. I sent away our old horse transport yesterday. It should have arrived already. Who drove it? Well, Jack Goldspur did.

He came by, telling us he’d heard we needed help driving off a transport, and he was ore than willing to aid. I don’t know how much he paid attention to what I said, because when he drove off, he went towards Paddock Island instead of taking the road through the city. He was going awfully fast, but I figured he knew what he was doing.

It’s probably for the best if you ride and speak to him about this. Hope everything works out.

Objectives: Speak to Jack Goldspur.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Sorry to say, but don’t get your hopes up Filip, if I know Jack Goldspur…

jack_goldspur

Howdy doody! What can I do you for?

Horse transport? That old wreck of a car wasn’t much. Doesn’t matter where it went. Who cares about that old and broken stuff anyway?

Quest completed

______________

Cars Over the Bridge

jack_goldspur

Angus cares? Ha ha! I know my brother, Rita. Tomorrow he’s forgotten all about it, believe me! You don’t? Ha ha, sure you do. It’s been like this since we were little. I mess with his things, he chases me around until he gets tired. Then he gives up, we don’t speak for a year or two, and then we make friends again. Ha ha, this is precisely like it used to be, nothing to worry about.

Don’t you want to play a game of cards or something instead? I’m crazy bored.

What? You want to know what became of Filip’s horse transport?

Well, if you have to know, it’s on the bottom of the sea. How it got there?

Ooh, that’s a super exciting tale if you ever heard one. I was supposed to drive to the Goldspur estate, but it’s such a bore driving through the city, so I decided I’d do some rally driving over Paddock Island instead. As I came down the hill leading to the bridge, I remembered the bridge is broken. You know what I did?

Precisely! You and I really think alike! There was only one thing I could do, and that was to speed jump over the broken bridge with the horse transport!!

What do you mean, “stupid?” It was awesome! However, it didn’t go very well. The care was useless for jumping and I went straight into the water. It was sheer luck I managed to climb on land again. But it was awesome! Too bad nobody videotaped it… It would’ve been perfect for J-Tube.

What do you mean, “fix it?” Angus can just buy a new horse transport!

How expensive can they be?! I can’t be bothered discussing this any more, I need to be doing something fun instead.

Objectives: Speak to Jill Goldspur.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Inform Jill of her brother’s shenanigans.

jill_goldspur

Hi, Rita. What has Jack done now?

Right. He’s driven Angus’s new horse transport into the sea. Just perfect…

Quest completed

______________

Inspecting the Site of the Accident

jill_goldspur

What now, then? Do you think we can retrieve the horse transport from the bottom of the sea? Doubtfully, you say? I agree, but we better try first. I don’t want to waste a whole lot of Jorvik Shillings of the tax payers’ money to buy a new hose transport if unnecessary. It’s vexing that my brothers keep fighting all te time. It would be for the best if we could fix this ourselves.

Ride there and see if you can think of a way to get the horse transport out of the water.

Objectives: Inspect the area where the horse transport went off the broken bridge. Return afterwards to Jill Goldspur.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The broken bride is located on the southeast side of Jarlaheim. Ride out onto the bride and look in the water to inspect the sunken transport.

Return to Jill when you have finished your inspection.

jill_goldspur

So, how did it look?

You think we can get it out? If we find the right equipment? Who might have that?

Quest completed

______________

Expert on Heaving Lifting

jill_goldspur

Builder Donald. Have you met him, Rita?

You have? Excellent. He’s probably the best suited to help us with this kind of problem. I wouldn’t know how to approach the issue, but at least he has access to the sort of equipment we might be needing.

Speak to him and see if he has any suggestions on what to do.

Objectives: Speak to Builder Donald.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Builder Donald can be found at his house near the gate across from Gavin.

mr_bucket

Hi there, Rita. Long time no see.

Heavy Lifting Needs Heavy Machinery

mr_bucket

Hi there, Rita! What can I do for you?

Salvage a car from the bottom of the sea? That doesn’t sound like an easy job… What happened? Jack has driven a horse transport into the sea by the broken bridge?!

Wow… This one will be challenging. But you really helped me out with the bridge repairs last time, so I’ll do my best to help you in return!

Hmm…

Meet me down by the broken bridge and you’ll see we can fix this together. I’ll get there right away and rig my machines and appliances.

Objectives: Speak to Builder Donald at the spot where the horse transport lies in the water.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

See you there!

mr_bucket

Have you seen this, Rita? With this beauty, I’m sure we’ll salvage that car in no time!

Quest completed

______________

From Sea to Land

mr_bucket

So, are we ready to get this car out of the water or what?

I need your help, you see. To be able to lift the whole car with tow and all, we need to fasten the hook to the crane to the car somehow. Ride down to the bridge and fasten the hook. Call on me after and I’ll pull the car out.

Objectives: Fasten the hook to the horse transport.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Dismount your horse to connect the hook. Speak to Builder Donald when it is set.

mr_bucket

This went well. The horse transport is on land, a bit wet perhaps, but on land nonetheless.

Quest completed

______________

The Last Leg is Always the Hardest

mr_bucket

Hmm… This car doesn’t appear to be working anymore. That’s understandable, if you ask me. You know what, Rita? Since I already have all my appliances here, I’ll tow this thing over to Angus. He was the one that was supposed to have it, right?

No worries. I’ll just tow it after my bulldozer, and I’ll be there in a jiffy. Meet me there!

Objectives: Meet Builder Donald by the upper mill on the Goldspur estate.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride up to the Goldspur farm and speak with Builder Donald there.

mr_bucket

The horse transport is in place! What do you think? This is a good spot for it, right?

Quest completed

______________

Finally There

mr_bucket

I need to get going, Rita. Give Angus the good news that the horse transport finally is in place, will you? The bad news being that it doesn’t work any more, of course. But he’s quite the handyman, he can probably fix it.

I’ll just wrap everything up and head for town, I’ll see you there sometime!

Objectives: Speak to Angus Goldspur.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Tell Angus you have saved his horse transport.

angus_goldspur

Hi, Rita. What’s going on with the horse transport? It’s here?! YES! Finally the Goldspurs have their own horse transport!

Why do you look so miffed?

Quest completed

______________

A Decent Crowbar Fixes All Problems

angus_goldspur

Okay. This was typical… The horse transport is completely broken…

But, I don’t give up this easily! Do you hear, Rita? I’ll fix this horse transport good, I promise you that!!

Though, I need your help, Rita. Idun has forbidden me to fix more stuff since I tried to repair our old plow. I left that thing in a state of itty bitty crumbs, I’m afraid… My patented method of repair didn’t quite succeed on that one. BUT, I’ll teach you how to repair things Angus Goldspur’s way, and then you can fix it instead!

You do like this. Take this nice crowbar and whack the horse transport all over the place where it looks broken. It’s all about scaring the thing into operating mode!

Come back when you get it running again, Rita.

Objectives: Use the crowbar to repair the horse transport. Afterwards, speak to Angus Goldspur.

Rewards: 1000 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP, Summer Blouse

Dismount your horse to use the crowbar on the places indicated by Angus. Whack it good, now.

Return to him when you have hit it in all the right places.

angus_goldspur

Look Rita, my method really works! This was the first time as a matter of fact, but I knew it! With a decent crowbar you can fix all kinds of problems!

Thank you. Thank you very much. You can use our horse transport as often as you like, and you’re also welcome to visit anytime you like.

Bye then!

I’m Back, and Update on the Bestie

Hey all!

I’m back from my weekend vacation! It was really fun and it was nice to see my friends again.

Since I got a lot of support from everyone when I posted about my friend’s suicide attempt, I thought I would update you all for those who are interested.

He is doing really well. He spent the last couple weeks in the psyche ward at the hospital, getting daily talk therapy and being under supervision. His wounds have healed well and he is being treated for bipolar disorder. He is still getting daily therapy but he will be staying and working from home for the next few weeks. His partner is also doing better and dealing with things well. He has been very supportive of Sam and many the new changes they will have to make in the future. It was very bittersweet seeing him happy this weekend. I’m not a religious person, but I do think God was watching over him that day and is making sure that he continues to do well.

Thanks for the support from everyone and I hope you all had a great weekend. Love you all!
