A Special Horse Named Spirit

17 Wednesday Jan 2018

Star Stable and Dreamworks have teamed up and Spirit has come to visit Jorvik! You can learn more about him by visiting Tori near the Fort Pinta fountain.

Spirit has arrived in Jorvik and in the near future, you and your friends will be able to do quests with Spirit. By completing enough quests and achieving the reputation level Admired with Spirit, he will become your horse.

Good luck!

Spirit turns up at a new place in Jorvik every hour, on the hour. If you find him, he has a quest that you have to help him with.

Spirit moves between many different places in Jorvik, so get help from your friends to find him!

Spirit is on the go every day between times 0800 and 2100.

In Fort Pinta, you will find Tori and Sally. They have been fans of Spirit since they were little. they are selling clothes and gear with a Spirit theme. At their place, you can buy a special apple to give to Spirit to make him stay with you as your horse.

When Spirit likes you enough, you can buy a Miradero apple to give him to make him stay with you as your horse.

You can buy the Miradero apple in Fort Pinta.

Spirit is still a wild horse and doesn’t want a lot of gear weighing him down. You cannot put horse equipment on Spirit.

Spirit works like regular reputation quests. They are first initiated by speaking to Tori by the Fort Pinta fountain. Once done, you must find Spirit out in Jorvik once an hour. Spirit moves according to the server time, not the player local time. The server time can be found on the clock town in Silverglade Village.

You will be notified when you are in an area near Spirit. Follow the blowing leaves to narrow down his location. Once you find him, you can start a blue point quest for reputation with him. His quests involve finding a location somewhere nearby. You will be shown a preview of the area you need to find. Pay close attention, as it will not be indicated on your minimap. If you need to see the preview again, talk to Spirit.

Spirit can be found in the following locations:

  • South Hoof Peninsula
  • Sunfield Farm
  • Stormgarden
  • Everwind Fields
  • Hollow Woods
  • The Cauldron
  • Forgotten Fields
  • Jarla Cafe
  • Greendale
  • Valedale Lake
  • Seahorse Point
  • Nilmer’s Highland
  • Silverglade Acres
  • North Iron Gate
  • Jarlaheim
  • Goldspur’s Farm
  • Fort Pinta Road
  • Moorland Beach
  • Valedale
  • Moorland Road
  • Dew’s Farm in Epona
  • The Fire Trail
  • Apple Grove
  • Firgrove Road
  • New Hillcrest
  • Eastern Slopes
  • Moorland
  • Goldenleaf Forest
  • Doyle’s Abbey
  • Jarlaheim Fields
  • Riding Hall
  • Shadowy Hills

Spirit’s quests give 200 reputation points. You will need to help Spirit 30 times to reach Admired with him.

Just like regular reputation quests, when you reach a new level, you will need to speak to Tori to be able to continue with quests. If you do not, Spirit will not appear for you in new locations until you do. When you have reached Admired, return to Fort Pinta and purchase the Miradero apple from Sally’s shop for 699 Star Coins. You will then need to find Spirit again to feed him the apple. He will then travel to your home stable and function as regular horse you can ride.

Spirit is yours to keep forever. You can ride him as much as you want, though he will not wear tack. Even though he is a mustang, he is not able to perform the special move when you press spacebar.

Spirit Quests

A Wild Mustang

Hi!

Have you heard?

Rumor has it that Spirit is here in Jorvik! Me and my best friend Sally have come all the way here just to meet him. We’ve idolized him ever since we were little.

You don’t know who Spirit is?!

Spirit is the best! He’s a wild Mustang who always wants to help those close to him. I bet he’s here to see what he can do to help the people and animals here in Jorvik. You should try to find him so you have the chance to meet him and get to know him. If you love horses, Spirit is a horse you must get to know!

Objectives: Talk to Tori again.

Rewards: Lucky’s Special Occassions Dress

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

I don’t know where he is, but I’ve heard that he is moving between different places here on the island. Perhaps you’ll get lucky and find him!

Quest completed

______________

Is It True?!

There you are! You have to tell me! Is it true? Is it true that you are friends with Spirit?

That is so cool! You must have made a really good impression on Spirit.

Objectives: Talk to Tori again.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP, Lucky’s Mom’s Boots

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

We have to celebrate the fact that you are friends with Spirit!

Take this! It’s something that all horse lovers might need!

Quest completed

______________

A Close Friend

Wow! Have you and Spirit become really close friends now?

Ha ha! How cool! You just can’t help but love that horse!

Objectives: Talk to Tori again.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP, Head Ribbon for Horse

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Hey, I have a present for you. I definitely think you should have it, given how much you’re helping Spirit!

Here you go!

Quest completed

______________

Best Friends

Oh! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! How cool that you and Spirit have become best friends and that he likes you so much. You really must have spent a lot of time with him.

The more you get to know that horse, the more you like him. Don’t you agree?

Objectives: Talk to Tori again.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP, Beige Miradero Sweater

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Because you’re best friends with Spirit, you have to have this. There’s no danger, just take it.

Here you go!

Quest completed

______________

Admired by Spirit

I’m impressed! I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who Spirit seems to admire as much as he admires you.

Hmm, would you like to give him something as a token of your friendship?

I’ve got an idea of what you can buy. In our store, we have a special kind of apple that only grows in Miradero, where Spirit is from. These kind of apples are really, really hard to get a hold of if you don’t live there. I bet that if you bring the apple to Spirit and let him have a taste of his home land, he will just love it!

Objectives: Talk to Tori again.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP, Horse Hat

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

But before you think about whether to give something to Spirit or not, Sally and I want to give you something! Just because we think you’re so cool that you managed to get even Spirit to admire you.

So we want to give you this!

Here you go!

Quiz Trail Questions

06 Thursday Oct 2016

Posted by Maggie Oldcamp in Daily Quests

Poor Star Stable tried to make the quizzes challenging but it seems that the questions are either worded badly (both saddle pads and blankets are something you can use on horses) or the answers given aren’t correct, even if you Google them (horses CAN drink up to 12 gallons a day but that certainly isn’t typical). I myself have gotten frustrated with these quests so I am breaking my rule about posting special event information.

Each character has a yellow exclamation point quest in which they tell you they have a quiz trail. Click on them again and the trail itself becomes a daily quest. You can only do a trail successfully once. If you fail, you can try again tomorrow until you answer correctly. You will not be told if your answers were correct until you return to the quest character to end the quest and you will not be told which answers were incorrect if you fail.

There is one item from each person except both James and Pamela Moonriver give two. Complete all of the quizzes and you will have earned the 5th year birthday set.

Midsummer Daily Treasure Hunt Locations

01 Friday Jul 2016

So… I was dumb and didn’t save the clues from last year, so I will be updating this post every day as I get each new clue. Sorry ’bout that y’all.

Speak to Felix to begin the daily treasure hunt. There is a general area to search and the treasure will be found in a different exact location for each player. Once you have found the treasure, return to Felix and he will give you a prize from a lottery of prizes. Just like with the Christmas treasure, it is possible to get the same prize more than once.

Thursday

“Felix can be a big prize-giver
Just find the treasure to deliver
You’ll hear the sound with an excited shiver
Of a song so silver from the river.”

-Silversong river, east side, between the mill and Valedale.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Friday

“By the coast and beach and gentle waves
The road towards Fort Pinta paves
A path to the treasure Felix craves
At the ruined church with its peaceful graves.”

-Doyle’s chapel, in and around the graveyard.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Saturday

“A hunt for treasure with thrills and scrapes
With fun and laughs and close escapes
Go search for the box of golden shapes
Among the stables, terraces, and grapes.”

-Winery vineyards

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Sunday

“Through tree trunks and rocks, the path you wove
Could lead you to the treasure trove
Search between an apple grove
and the southern tunnel where bulldozers drove.”

-Applegrove, south of Firgrove, directly across the water from Fort Pinta

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Monday

“The treasure hunt is under way
So find the loot without delay!
The clue I have for you today:
The giant building with stone so grey.”

-Silverglade castle

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Tuesday

“To gain your prize for treasure found
You need to hear the whooshing sound
Of a mill in the wind going round and round
So ride on up to a hillside mound!”

-Mill Hill of Will

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Wedsnesdy

“The blowing of an eternal breeze
A gentle wind that doesn’t freeze
And rustles sweetly in the trees
Where balloons fly high with the birds and the bees.”

-Everwind Field, under the hot air balloons

Rewards updated for Valentine’s 2018!

PLEASE NOTE!

Each letter is hidden in a different location for each player, so I can only give general directions to where they are hidden. If you are having trouble finding a letter, log out, and log back in, and the letter location will reset and be moved to a new location within the hiding area. You will hear a  chime when you are in an area containing a letter, and also when you leave the area.

For the first day of Derek’s quests, the missing letters in “Letter Disaster” can all be found within the walls of Silverglade Village.

The following descriptions are for the hidden letters after you complete the second day quest with Derek, “Stormy Forecast on the Letter Front”

Letter 3

Thank you, Dad. You raised me all by yourself, and I know that must have been hard. Especially the last few years. Thanks to you, I know I’ll always have a home to come back to. I have no time to write more, I have promised to meet one Mr Sands who’s going to show me something exciting. I wonder what it can be?

Your honey bunny.

Deliver to: Pi, in the Witch’s Swamp

Rewards: 125 Jorvik Shillings, Cake

Letter 5

I was wondering who was going to send a Valentine’s card to, and the only one I could think of that I wanted to show any kind of appreciation to, is you. You’re the best. You’re the most beautiful. When I see myself in the mirror, I’m always taken aback by your lovely blonde hair and how good you look in black. Thank you, myself.

From your one and only, best friend.

Deliver to: Ms Drake in Jarlaheim

Reward: 25 Jorvik Shillings, Cafe drink, Sandwich

Deliver to: Captain Brus in Cape West Fishing Village

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, Sandwich

The best and biggest Jorvik has ever seen! I just have to find a really good race course builder which will make me one for free, first. ferdinand's horse market

Ferdinand’s Horse Market is a travelling market that has story quests available every time it is in a new location. It visits four different cities in Jorvik; Jorvik Stables, Fort Pinta, Silverglade, Cape West Fishing Village, respectively.

When you visit the market for the first time, regardless of location, there are several introductory quests in which you meet Ferdinand, Eddie, and Goofy Lars. Then, each location has quests that are specific to that location, and are only available when the Horse Market is camped there.

There are several horses that travel with the market are only available for purchase when the market is camped.

Generally, the market stays in each location for one real life week. Then it takes one week of set up in the next location.

The Horse Market quests are actually reputation quests. Each location’s quests repeat until you have reached Admired with the Horse Market faction. You will still be able to do the ‘regular’ quests at each location, but the big Thank You from Ferdinand and Eddie quests will no longer be available.

The New Horse Guide page will be continually updated with the Market’s current location.

If you have any other questions regarding the Horse Market, feel free to comment!

HELP I DON’T HAVE NEW QUESTS!!

28 Sunday Apr 2013

Posted by Maggie Oldcamp in Daily Quests, Story Quests

All of the quests starting about halfway through level thirteen require you have reputation with the druid Sun Circle faction. Once you start your druid training with Elizabeth, you need to make sure to do it everyday to get the required reputation the quickest. The first set requires you become Liked and the second set requires you become Popular. If done everyday, both will take fifteen days to complete.

Please do not complain that it takes so long. It’s something that needs to be done. And the longer you complain about it, the longer it will take you to get new story quests.

I just wanted to address this because I have been getting a lot of questions about it.

Edit: It has now been added that quests requiring more reputation than you currently have, will appear with a symbol of a heart inside of a circle. Do other quests to increase your reputation with that person’s faction to be able to access the new quest.

Championship Race Advice

championship race times, dont get mad at me if the exact time doesnt fit your time zone, is approximate, race advice

THERE IS NO WAY TO CHEAT AT THE RACES!!

The -lag- some players experience is caused by the large amount of players moving through a single area at one time. This happens on all other MMOs, and is not someone trying to cheat to get an advantage.

Players who consistently win have earned it. They have taken the time and effort to purchase the best gear, train their horses to the top level, and practice the course. It irritates me to no end to see people get upset because someone else won the race. That attitude is utterly rude, and I imagine you would be upset if it was reversed. So, please don’t do it.

______________

The exact times (the exact minute) of the race is random each day, but they happen about the same time each day, within +/- 10 minutes of the hour.

There are two championship races each day (one in the morning and one in the evening, for each location). You will get a notice pop up on your page  an hour and a half before the race begins (and every half hour until the race starts). I  advise you log on at least twenty minutes before the race times to make sure you get your chores done and be ready for the race. Put on your best tack and outfit before the race. I see too many people with disco clothes (which give no stat boosts at all) and no saddle or blanket on their horse, in the race, and then complain they did not win. You may not win if you do not have the best gear, and you definitely won’t win if you have no gear on at all. Along with tack, practice is the only way to get better. This means you will have to run the race a lot if you want to get good at it. They are not easy tracks, and even if you have the best gear, if you cannot make it over the jumps and around obstacles, you will not win. Your horse will run its fastest when it is very happy (the dark green 😀 ), so make sure you take care of your horse every day. Also be sure to level up your horse. The current highest level (even if you are not a Star Rider) is 15 that your horse can get to. You can level up your horse by completing the daily quest races.

Time zones only apply if your country has multiple time zones per server. Please know that it may be different for each time zone (this is why I did not post specific hours) so you may need to be online longer throughout the day to figure out exactly what time they are for you. They do happen at a regular interval (except the Firgrove race? Can someone confirm this?).

______________

There are currently four championship races: Moorland, Goldenhills Valley, Firgrove, Valedale. All four races give rosettes with styles unique to that race.

There is a bug I have found with entering the races. It doesn’t happen with everyone but I have experienced it so I can explain how to deal with it.

If when you talk to the race organizer and the title of the race is something other than the race you are entering (ie when I tried to enter the Firgrove race, it said ‘Moorland Pole Bending’), you will not be entered into the race even if you clicked yes on the dialogue box. If the count down bar does not show at the top of your screen, you are not entered in the race!  If this happens to you, all hope is not lost. You will just have to wait until the 5 minute reminder (when the notification does NOT have the picture of a rosette in it) to enter.

I’ve made a schedule of each type of fish required on each day of the week and the particular fishing spot to go to for that day.

I’ve listed the location as I’ve named them, and have description and map screenshots for each location below the list.

Day of the Week – Fish Needed – Location

Monday – Northern Pike – Labyrinth Shore

Tuesday – Perch – Broken Bridge

Wednesday – White Croaker – Little Beach Jetty

Thursday – Cod – Stable Beach Dock

Friday – Herring – East Dock

Saturday – Whitefish – Smuggler’s Den

Sunday – Plaice – Longbridge

______________

Location Descriptions

Labyrinth Shore

Go through Labyrinth Shore and after you come off of the narrow water trail, directly to your right is the dock. If you get to the Smuggler’s Den you’ve gone to far.

______________

Broken Bridge

Standing on the road facing the broken bridge going west, take a left down the hill towards the water. Go all the way down to the beach and turn right. Run down the beach past the broken bridge (you’ll have to navigate between two large rocks). The dock is on the other side.

______________

Little Beach Jetty

Facing the bridge connecting the road to the village, turn right and run down the beach. It’s the little dock you can see across the water, while standing on the northeast corner of the boardwalk around the village.

______________

Stable Beach Dock

At the end of the long bridge connecting the stables island to the village, immediately turn left onto the beach. Continue on the beach around the island. It is the second dock on the beach in that direction.

______________

East Dock

At the end of the east most southern docks. The little fishing sign at the end of the west dock is NOT a fishing spot, though deceptively labeled.

______________

Smuggler’s Den

Go through Labyrinth Shore and continue past the Smuggler’s Den cave. The dock is on the righthand side immediately past a large boulder. If you go around completely past Scarecrow Hill, you’ve gone too far.

______________

Longbridge

On the lefthand side running north from the village to the stables island. The sign is on the bridge.

If you have trouble finding any of these places feel free to contact me to my character Maggie Oldcamp. I’d be more than willing to meet up with you and show you where the locations are.
