I’ve got some bad news about the applications, I’m afraid…

I’d just opened the mailbox to collect my letters when at that exact moment, a big gust of wind came from absolutely nowhere! I wasn’t at all prepared for it, and so all of Andy’s applications suddenly found themselves scattered around in the wind!

Well, the mailman hadn’t actually delivered mine by that time; the only thing in the mailbox were the applications for Andy’s competition.

Hey there Rita! What fun that you called by! A few days ago, I was reading about this thing called geocaching; ever heard of it?

No?

No worries, I hadn’t either, but I thought it sounded really exciting so I’ve decided to organize a special geocaching contest here in Firgrove!

I can tell you more about it if you’re interested in helping out?

You are? Great! This is going to be so much fun! Haha!!

In order to get started, we’l have to write a few clues.

What am I going to do with the clues? Haha… You’ll see! First I need to find my pen, I’ve got no idea where I’ve put it.

Could you help me have a look for it?

Objectives: Help Andy find his pen.

Now, what were we talking about? Ah, of course, I was going to tell you more about geocaching!

Geocaching is a little bit like orienteering, except instead of looking for coordinates on a map, you’re looking for so-called ‘treasure.’ The treasure should always be found at the end of the trail, and the treasure could be absolutely anything under the sun!

In certain variants of geocaching, you have to look for clues to be able to find the cache of treasure.

I’m going to be doing it in my own style… Maybe we could call it AndyCaching or perhaps even GeoAndy? Haha!

If you wait just a little while Rita, I’ll just write down a few clues and then I’ll tell you a little bit more about what you’ll be able to help with.

Typing Up the Clues

So there we go! The clues are written, and they’re pretty great, if you ask me, hehe… I wonder how long it’ll take before someone’s able to work out exactly where the first clue leads to?

Unfortunately, I’m not able to tell you what I’ve written or where it leads to, Rita… It’s a secret!

 That said, it’d be great if you could help me by rolling up these clues and tying them all up with this ribbon. Make it into a nice bow if you’re able to!

Oh, and Rita… Promise you won’t take a sneaky peek at the clues when you’re rolling them up. Not that I think you’d do that, but it’s really important that the clues stay secret for everyone, at least until the contest gets under way.

Here’s some ribbon. Roll up the papers and then tie them up into a bow with this ribbon, then it’ll all be perfect!

Following Instructions

I bought a treasure chest online! How amazing is that?!

I figured it’d be pretty cool to have the competition-winner’s prize in the treasure chest! If I read the instructions out, would you be able to put it together?

Nice! Right then, step one says: take the bottom part and lat it flat on the ground.

Then it says you take the lid and place it on the bottom section.

Lastly, it says you have to screw in the screws so that the lid is firmly attached to the bottom part.

Then when these three steps have been successfully completed, you will be the proud owner of a ready-to-use treasure chest!

You can find water lilies on the other side of the bridge here in Valedale, over by the reeds. It’s said that the water lilies from Valedale have a special sort of power, like Aideen’s flowers. The last thing we need is a thorn from the thorn bushes towards the Observatory. The thorns are very poisonous if they’re not properly prepared, but if you do it right, they can be used for anything. I need them right away!

Objectives: Find a water lily leaf by the reeds in Valedale and a thorn from a thorn bush on the road to the Observatory.

The water lily leaf can be found across the bridge. Go along the road next to the water, towards the waterfall. The leaf is in the reeds.

The thorn bush can be found on the main trail to the Observatory. They start on the side of the road once you are out of the woods and start heading up into the mountains.

Can I Hear Clucking from the Chicken Coop?

Hi, Rita! Do you want some eggs? We have plenty! Can you collect some eggs to take some over to Grandma? You just have to put your hands inside the chicken wire, the eggs are in the hay. One dozen should be enough. Can you ride with a basket of eggs to Firgrove Village? I promise my grandma will be overjoyed! Good luck and be sure to ride carefully! The eggs will break if you aren’t careful riding!

Ride to the chicken coop, and click on it to pick up the eggs. The eggs will then be in a basket behind your saddle. If you ride at any speed above a walk, the ‘Danger!’ meter will fill up. Once it fills up completely, the eggs will break. You can prevent this by slowing to a walk or stopping completely to let the meter drain when it gets too high, before riding more.

Take the eggs to Mrs Packard’s house in Firgrove.

The clue ‘opposite the Thornrocks’ means ‘across the river from the Thornrocks.’

Applegrove is along the Fire Trail. Once you cross the bride, as if you were going to Firgrove, instead of going up the hill, take the first trail off to the right. It is a road, but it is not marked on the map. Follow the road for a little bit, and off to the right-hand side you will see trees with apples on them. To get the golden apple, you will have to leave the road a bit and go down into the trees.

The path behind my house leads to the four rune stones. Continue past them. There, you’ll find a spiral path surrounded by other rune marked stones. Be sure to ride in a clockwise spiral along the path until the Portal opens in the middle. Ride into the portal and you’ll travel to the Secret Stonering and meet the druid Council there.

Listen to the Council, ask your questions and talk to me back here again when the meeting is finished. Keep it a secret how to travel there, please.

Objectives: Participate in the council. Travel there by following the spiral path. It’s beyond the runestones, behind and above Elizabeth’s house. Talk to Elizabeth afterwards.

That’s why it’s time to perform the Light ceremony so we can stop Garnok for now, but it’s not that easy…

Alex and Linda are two of the four Soulriders we can get hold of. Lisa and Anne have disappeared. Rita can probably replace one of them but we have to continue our search for Lisa or Anne because we need four Soulriders for the ceremony and that’s how it was even before the Lost Book of Ceremonies disappeared…

What are the Keepers of Aideen?

What Can a Keeper of Aideen Do?

Every time we notice that Garnok is gaining more power we gather the four Soulriders through a ceremony described in the Lost Book of Ceremonies. That ceremony can prevent Garnok from spreading out and we can push it back, at least for a while. We can never permanently stop Garnok, but so far we’ve managed to stop it from poisoning our world with its malevolence. Garnok is unpredictable and can be active anything between once a year to slumbering for decades. During the thousands of years we have existed we have not failed yet…

What Do We Know About Lisa and Anne?

I can tell you all I know about Lisa. After her success in the Star Academy school on Jorvik I was told that Lisa went on a tour with her rock band for a couple of years. It wasn’t easy contacting her during this time. I’ve traveled and searched for her without any luck The tour is now over and people say that she’s on vacation. But Herman in the Jorvik Stable had news. He says that she’s been in the stable and taken her horse, Starshine, out for a ride. I have made inquiries about Anne but always come to dead-ends. Anne was a very successful dressage competitor and traveled around to compete and to show her skills. One day, about two years ago, during a competition in France, the speaker called her name but she didn’t show up. The audience was disappointed and wondered what could’ve happened. No one’s seen her since that day. There is no trace of Anne or her horse, Concorde.

Unfortunately, that’s all I know.

Who Are Against the Druids?

Dark Core, controlled by Mr Sands, is one of our most dangerous enemies. Thank goodness you realized that Mr Sands is active on this island again so we can be ready to act when they show themselves. Dark Core claims to be a multinational company with the same interests as G.E.D. But we think that Mr Sands is looking for a way to control Garnok and use that powerful force to take over the world. We don’t think that’s possible and the ony thing he’ll be able to do is to destroy our world when he tries.

We have more people who want to stop us, or have their own agendas regarding Garnok. So be careful out there! We have to identify what they want and what they’re doing. There are more stakeholders involved than ever before and Garnok isn’t even that strong yet…

What is the Book of Ceremonies?

Funny that you ask that. The book is used at the ceremony to prevent Garnok from growing in strength and to temporarily chase him away. Unfortunately the book has been lost for a couple hundred years and that’s why we call it the – Lost – Book of Ceremonies. Though, we’ve been careful and made a copy of some of the most important chapters and the four parts of that copy is spread out between us druids. One day we hope to find the book because it will make the ceremony more powerful and it contains secrets written by ancient druids which we have forgotten or don’t know the meaning of today.

I’m basically ready… It was very difficult to get good sample material from the feather, there wasn’t a large amount of oil on it. But I managed to get a sample that can be compared with previous samples from Mr Kembell’s oilfield. Take these samples and ride up to Carney at the vineyard and ask if you can borrow the comparison machine again.

To look at the lemmings and maybe help them on the right track.

I happen to know that there are some planks around the old mine down there. I think they are left over from when they built the mine many years ago. Ride down and look, I don’t think anyone will miss the planks. It’s good that someone will get some use out of them.

This is honestly my least favorite race in the whole game. It is difficult. There’s no way around it.

The easiest way I have found to complete it is to use the arrow keys to control my horse, with one hand, and use the computer mouse to click on the rabbits, with the other hand.

When you have caught six rabbits, run to Landon as fast as you can to finish the race.
