Speak to Ydris at Nilmer’s Highland.

A New Way of Getting to the Circus

ydris

Hello Rita. Sure, wouldn’t it be lovely if you could visit me a little more often? And if the visit was somehow made easier? Hm?

Y’know what? Go and open that package over there and see what’s inside.

Objectives: Open the package near to Yrdis.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

If facing the Ydris, the package will be behind you, near the entrance to the meadow. Speak to Ydris after you open the package.

ydris

Well, look at that. A horse trailer. Who’d have thought? With this trailer, you and all the other riders can come here as often as you’d like. Wonderful, no?

Hmm? A bit small? What are you talking about, “too small to use”? Maybe it’s your horse that’s too big, ever thought about it that way?

Hmm… So it has to be bigger. I get it. Well yeah, that’s not impossible to organize.

Wait, it IS impossible? Why would you say that, Rita? Nothing’s impossible at Circus Ydris!

Quest completed

______________

Five Five-Leaf Clovers!

ydris

I’d love to help you increase the size of the horse trailer in the package to a real-life sized trailer if you’d like… You want to do it? Can’t be done you say?! Don’t you know that here at my circus, the only limit to what can be done is the limit of your imagination? Hm?

Now, let me help you! Find me five five-leaf clovers so I can make them into a magic mixture that will solve all your problems!

Hm? Why five-leaf clovers? There’s a mysterious rarity to the five-leaf clover that makes it even more magical and rare and special and wonderful than even the luckiest four-leaf clover! Why? Well, it’s a mystery of course! If we didn’t leave a little mystery, than magic wouldn’t be much fun, now would it Rita?

Objectives: Find five five-leaf clovers for Ydris.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride around in the meadow behind Ydris to find the clovers. Pick up five of them, then return to Ydris.

 ydris

Five five-leaf clovers! Perfecto!

Quest completed

______________

A Hat for the Five-Leaf Clovers

ydris

For my magical mixture to gain its magic powers, it needs to be mixed up in a magic hat. Why? Without a magic hat, there’s not much magic, wouldn’t you think?

You’ve got a circus ticket, right Rita? If you haven’t got it with you, you can get it from your stable. Nobody gets in without a ticket!

In the Big Top, one of my hats is just sitting there waiting for you. Without the hat, I won’t be able to help you with the trailer, see? No hat, no trailer. No socks, no shoes! No hair, no haircut! Wait, what? I should be able to do this without a hat? Only our imaginations are the limit of what’s possible?

Hmm, you’re right, I did say that, but there are rules, Rita! Rules we all have to follow! Even me. Don’t even try to understand; you’re better off not knowing…

Objectives: Get a hat from the Big Top for Ydris.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Use your magic circus ticket (which like the Aideen’s light fragment, can’t be deleted, so if it isn’t in your inventory, it should be in your stable closet) to enter the circus tent. Ride across the ring to pick up the magic hat, then exit the tent to return it Ydris.

ydris

Ooh! You found the hat! Do you feel the magical powers coming from it? Ahh, magic… You can feel it tingling all over! Heehee!

Now I’m going to mix into a mixture the magical mixy mixture! This is gonna turn your tiny trailer into a tip-top trailer!

Abra…

Caaaa…

Darn it!

Abracadabra!!

Awh, shoot! It doesn’t work.

Hmm…

Quest completed

______________

A Special Ingredient

ydris

Seems it needs more powerful ingredients than just the four-leaf clovers! You know what, Rita? Nearby is a powerful man who can help us. A mystical, magical man of magical mysticism. I’m not sure he knows it himself, but his sauces aren’t only known for their magical flavors, in some… circles… but yes! They’re also known for their magical POWERS!

Do you know Ed Field? Oh, you do? Lovely.

Ride over and see him. Ask him for a bottle of his special sauce.

Objectives: Talk to Ed Field and ask for a bottle of the special sauce.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride across the bridge to speak to Ed Field.

ed_field

Hey, hey Rita!

My special sauce?

You’re too late! I just shipped off a massive delivery to the creepy swamp in Goldenhills Valley. Someone living there has really developed a taste for it!

Quest completed

______________

Pick Up Some Sticks From the Forest

ed_field

Don’t pout now, Rita! It’s amazing that so many flavor connoisseurs all over Jorvik have opened their eyes to the incredible flavor taste sensations of Ed Field’s Special Sauce!

You know what? I’m going to get started on a fresh batch right away! If you help out a little, it’ll go extra fast. What do you say? Amazing!

The secret of my special sauce is some certain special ingredients, you see… You’ve probably heard about how all the top chefs use a secret blend of herbs and spices, or a secret blend of vegetables in their salads, or a secret blend of flavors in their ice cream? You know already? Well I can certain see I’m not talking to some random amateur here! Haha! Anyway! In my special sauce I use a secret blend of many different sorts of… WOOD!

YES! WOOD! Wood from different trees! GENIUS!

The first type of wood I need is from the trees in Greendale. If you go grab me a whole bunch of sticks from those trees, I’ll fire up the stove and get everything ready. You don’t need to be too picky; regular old sticks off the ground are fine.

Bye!

Objectives: Get some sticks from Greendale and give them to Ed Field.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 15 with Wolf Hall Inn

Wander around the Greendale Forest and pick up enough sticks for Ed Field. When you have found them, return to Ed.

ed_field

Omnomnom! These sticks are perfect! Salty and delicious!

Quest completed

______________

Airy Wood from Nilmer’s Highland

ed_field

A type of wood that makes my sauce extra delicious comes from the trees that grow over the bridge in Nilmer’s Highland. It has a kind of airy quality, if you get my drift? You know what? Ask that circus ringmaster Ydris if he knows any suitable trees with delicious wood for the sauce. He looks like the academic type, with his little assistant and all. Probably knows lots about wood.

Good luck! See you soon!

Objectives: Ride over and talk to Ydris.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride back across the bridge and speak with Ydris.

ydris

Hmm… So Ed Field needs wood from Nilmer’s Highland for his sauce? My goodness, that man is some kind of extraordinary genius.

Quest completed

______________

Gather the Magical Sticks from the Forest

ydris

Well, keep your eyes on the ground Rita and pick up the twigs you come across. Come back to me afterwards so I can try them out and see if you’ve got the right twigs with the strongest powers.

Objectives: Find twigs and sticks on the ground in Nilmer’s Highland and head back to Ydris.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 5 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride around near the abandoned farm and pick up the sticks that you find. Return to Ydris when you have enough.

ydris

Abra Caaaa….

…

Aaaaaa….

….

DABRA!

Hmm… These sticks are full of the powers of Nilmer. They’ll be perfect.

Quest completed

______________

To Ed Field from Nilmer’s Highland

ydris

Objectives: Ride to Ed Field with the sticks from Nilmer’s Highland.

Reward: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 25 with Wolf Hall Inn

Return to Ed Field with the magical sticks.

ed_field

Yeah! These sticks are going to be perfect!

Quest completed

______________

Rich and Smoky Wood from Hollow Woods

ed_field

For that rich and dark flavor of bark, only wood from Hollow Woods will do! Oooh, my mouth is starting to water just thinking about it. Go and chat to that little oddball, Avalon. That guy with his hood always pulled down like he’s afraid of the sun or something! You know who I mean? Oh, you know him? Great! He seems to know all about this kind of stuff!

Objectives: Ride and talk to Avalon.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride or transport to Valedale and speak with Avalon by his house across the river.

faceless_druid

Ooh! Sorry Rita, I didn’t see you there.

So, how can I help you? Ed Field needs wood from Hollow Woods to make his special sauce?

Interesting.

Quest completed

______________

Gather Rich and Smoky Twigs in the Forest

faceless_druid

The kinds of twigs you’re looking for, Rita, are quite difficult to find. They’re around somewhere but you need to have a pretty thorough look through all of Hollow Woods if you’re to have a chance of finding as many as you need. Come back to me later and I’ll check the sticks and see that they’ll do.

Objectives: Gather sticks from the ground in Hollow Woods and return to Avalon.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 25 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride around the Hollow Woods in the vicinity of Valedale and pick up the sticks that you find. Return to Avalon when you have collected enough of them.

Return to Ed Field with the sticks.

ed_field

Quest completed

______________

Wood From Firgrove

ed_field

It has to be perfect Rita, otherwise it’s not worth trying to make the sauce. You know what I mean? I’ve been playing around for ages with different types of wood before I found the final twigs to make the perfect sauce. The sour but ever so slightly sweet wood from the trees at Firgrove. Ride there and talk to Minka; she’ll know where you get good sticks.

Objectives: Ride and talk with Minka.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride or transport to Firgrove and speak to Minka at the start of the Firgrove forest races.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Omnomnom…

…

Awesome! These are perfect!

Quest completed

______________

Preparing the Special Sauce

ed_field

Right! Now we’re gonna whip up some special sauce!

Look out! Just throw everything into the blender!

Hey! Plus a little salt!

Hoho! A little pinch of gravel!

Haha! A bottle of orange juice!

And… Finally…

Toot-toot! Half a tube of toothpaste!

Blitz it all up in the blender!

Done! Boom!

Objectives: Give the bottle of Ed Field’s special sauce to Ydris.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Toothpaste and gravel… Yummy… A winning recipe if I ever heard one!

Return to Ydris with the bottle of special sauce.

ydris

Well look at that! A bottle of Ed Field’s special sauce! Now, let’s see…

Hocus…

Pocus…

ABRACADABRA!

Now I’ve blended up the special sauce with my magical mixture from earlier. Can you feel the power Rita? The magical miracle power? Hehe!

Quest completed

______________

A Magic Trailer

ydris

You know what needs to be done next? Exactly. Pour this, umm… Magical slime… All over the toy trailer over there. Take a step back and count to three. More than that, I can’t tell you!

Objectives: Pour the magical sludge all over the trailer and go back to Ydris.

Rewards: 250 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Dismount your horse to use the poo-looking sludge on the trailer. When you are done, tell Ydris about the results.

ydris

So, Rita! Here at Circus Ydris, anything can happen at anytime to anybody, as I’m sure you understand now!

Now you can use the trailer to get to and from my circus as often as you’d like. Let your friends know that they can also get a lift here. Everyone’s welcome at the fabulous Circus Ydris! Hehe…

A strange pink glow has taken over Silverglade village. Let’s put on our big Soul Rider pants and go help!

Like in a Pink Glimmer…

council_man

Rita! Thank goodness you were also here. You see what awful things have happened here in the village? It is a disaster! A catastrophe! Is this the beginning of the end? Is this the final doomsday? Is this how Silverglade and Jorvik is going to end… Swallowed in a hungry purple-pink glow?

Is Garnok above us now? Is Garnok finally going to get us all?

Something has really awoken the wrath of Garnok… And I suspect this is the result of foolish things those clods from Dark Core have been messing with.

What do you think, Rita?

Shadow sucker? Witch?

Tell us what you think we should do..

Quest completed

______________

Ask Pi About the Equipment

alex

Rita! Your idea of using the Shadow Sucker just might work. Ride over to the witch Pi and ask her if you can borrow that shadow sucking device. I’ll stay here and try and protect the villages and hold the Pandoric power under control the best I can. Hurry up Rita! Hurry! Time is short and I’m not sure how long I can hold it back. My, but you are pale? Have you not bee out in the sun for a long time?

No? Oh? A catastrophe of catastrophic proportions in Silverglade Village? You want to use the Shadow Sucker?

Quest completed

______________

Modified and Improved

nice_pi

I have actually improved the Shadow Sucker a little bit. Dust from the Light Spirits has made it extra magical and I have strengthened the function of the device both in magic and mechanical means. I’ve magicked and mechanicked!

But I am going to need until tomorrow to make it perfectly ready…

What? That doesn’t work for you?

Anyways, take the Shadow Sucker. But remember to treat it carefully.

You are welcome, Rita.

Quest completed

______________

To Rescue Silverglade Village!

nice_pi

In addition to the magical improvements, I have also made the pulling power of the Shadow Sucker stronger. Now you should be able to pull in the Shadow Seekers from farther away! Fantastic, right? You might not be able to grab the strongest ones, but most of them you should be able to get before they get too close to you.

There! Now you can run off and save Silverglade Village… So don’t just stand around doing nothing. It was you who was in a rush, my friend.

Oh… And good luck! Remember the Shadow Sucker needs to be emptied sometimes and neutralized. The Druid Avalon can probably handle that.

Objectives: Ride to the rescue in Silverglade Village. Report to Alex.

Here I come! Have faith my citizens!

Do not get too close to them or they will chase you out of town.

When you have caught all of the Shadow Seekers, speak with the Councilman

council_man

Ha! I knew that you would save us! Now that we have gotten ride of the immediate threat from those horrible shadows that were frightening everyone. Now there is only those scary cracks left to deal with.

Uh, where can I buy one of those vacuum cleaner thingies? I would like to buy one for myself.

Quest completed

______________

Deeper into the Secrets of the Druids

alex

Whew! That was a close one. But now the village is free from those horrible Shadow Seekers at any rate That Shadow Sucker is really an amazing device. You can hear them inside that tube where they are held captive by the Light Spirit dust. Simply amazing!

What was I doing? Oh, that was just a little Lightning Circle protective magic… My Soul Rider power is… As you probably already know… Mostly from the Lightning Circle. But more on that later. Now we need to figure out to close off these cracks before they cause more damage or release more awful Shadow Seekers. The only one who can hep us with that would be Fripp… He should be able to tell us what we need to know.

You need to ride up to Fripp and ask for his advice. If there is anyone who can help us, it is him. I’ll stay here and keep an eye on the situation and do my best to prevent the cracks from releasing any more Shadow Seekers.

Please hurry!

Objectives: Speak with Fripp in the Secret Stonering and ask for guidance.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride to Valedale and follow the spiral path above Elizabeth’s house to get to the Secret Stonering. Speak with Fripp there.

fripp

Welcome back to my time, Rita!

Oh, memories.. Pandoric cracks? By all the mild worlds. It has really shaken loose properly this time.

We did really hope that the crack you closed in Goldenhills Valley was a one-time occurrence, but ack! It seems it was only the starting shot of something much worse. It seems this is the result of Dark Core’s malicious activities. They have clearly upset the already delicate balance between Pandoria and our known reality.

The so called Garnok-Effect has begun. May Aideen be with us…

Quest completed

______________

Lightning Circle

fripp

The Garnok-Effect needs to be slowed down! Otherwise we will not be able to stop it. But you can help us with the immediate threat and stall the Garnok-Effect.

To close off the Pandoric cracks in Silverglade Village, you will need to use the magical powers of the Lightning Circle. Are you ready to learn about the Lightning Circle.

Objectives: Listen to Fripp speak about the Lightning Circle.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Fripp will tell you more about this new faction.

fripp

Listen to me, Rita.

The Lightning protects against sickness, witchcraft, and malevolent magic. Through harvesting the power of the Lightning you can defend yourself against magic used against you. For a Soul Rider, the Lightning power has two main categories, a defensive kind used to ward off evil magic and a secondly strong offensive attack called “Soul Strike.” The Lightning Circle is the traditional path of a warrior. With strong power comes great responsibility. The Lightning Circle demands great wisdom and forethought from its members.

The druids know that you are very unique in that you have mastered powers from all four circles, even if you are not fully aware of them yet. Now I will teach you how to use the power of the Lightning Circle to close the Pandoric cracks to save Silverglade Village.

As you train with the powers of the Lightning Circle, you will become more effective and experienced with using those powers.

Quest completed

______________

An Exercise in Lightning Circle Magic

fripp

The exercise you will perform is similar to what you will need to do to close the cracks in Silverglade Village. A kind of simulation, if you like.

I’m going to open a weakened version of a crack between our reality and Pandoria. This is not something that should be done lightly. This is what you will need to do:

Get off your horse.

Stand close to the pink glow and neutralize the magical defenses of the crack using the Shadow Sucker. That machine is perfect for this job.

After neutralizing the defenses, watch for blue star shaped sparks. They can be hard to see in the pink glow… So watch carefully. Use your inner Lightning Circle powers to absorb the blue star sparks.

Every time you succeed in absorbing a blue start spark, the crack loses some of its power. When it runs out of power, the crack will close and the portal will disappear. If you fail to absorb enough sparks the defenses of the crack will recharge, and when it regains full power, you might never be able to close it again…

Objectives: Use the Shadow Sucker on the Pandoric portal. Absorb the blue star sparks until the crack energy is depleted and the portal closes.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 50 with The Lightning Circle

Dismount your horse and approach the Pandoric rift. Use the Shadow Sucker on the rift and you will automatically open the portal to be able to absorb the sparks. Click on the stars quickly before they dissolve. If you do not click on them in time, they will add even more power to the rift. If the bar fills up, you will have to start over again with the Shadow Sucker. Continue to work the portal until the bar empties and the rift closes.

Speak with Fripp when you have closed the rift.

fripp

Look at that! You really can harness the power of the Lightning Circle! You really are an extraordinary talent. You never disappoint us. Elizabeth was really right about you.

The more you train in the powers of the Lightning Circle, the easier it will be easier for you to succeed in closing the cracks between our worlds.

Discussion with Avalon

fripp

So that the Shadow Sucker can manage to draw off the defensive magic of the Pandoric portals, Avalon will need to help you strengthen the power of the Shadow Sucker. He should be able to do this by using the magic of the Shadow Seekers that you already sucked up into the machine in Silverglade.

Go off to Avalon in Valedale Village and tell him everything so that he can help you.

Objectives: Speak with Avalon in Valedale Village and ask him to increase the power of the Shadow Sucker.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Exit the Secret Stonering by the swirling portal off to the side. When you are back in Valedale, ride to Avalon’s cottage and speak to him there.

faceless_druid

Very interesting… Very interesting… Pandoric cracks… This is not good at all. Didn’t I say this wasn’t good at all?

But you have a plan! I will help you by improving the Shadow Sucker.

Save Silverglade

faceless_druid

Using the strength of the captured Shadow Seekers, I have strengthened that device so you should be able to use it to close down all the cracks in Silverglade, and maybe more. If you use it a lot, you might have to come back to me to empty and neutralize the Shadow Sucker again.

Now ride off to Silverglade Village and close down all those cracks with your new Lightning Circle powers!

Don’t forget! First weaken the crack’s defenses with the Shadow Sucker, then neutralize the blue remains with your abilities until you have absorbed all the energy which will force it to close. Understand?

Good luck!

Objectives: Ride to Silverglade Village. Weaken the defensive magic of the portals with the Shadow Sucker. Close them with the help of the magic of the Lightning Circle.

Rewards: 260 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

When you get to Silverglade Village, close each of the rifts using the same process you used with Fripp.

“Silverglade Village is saved this time! Without you and Alex working together, this could have had a horrible ending. This otherwise quiet town has now been made well aware that a strange power threatens them, and perhaps even the entire population of the island is threatened.

But there are still so many questions. Is this only the beginning of Garnok’s awakening? Are you and the Keepers of Aideen going to be able to protect the island from Garnok and the evil activities of Dark Core in the future? Whatever is happening is Jorvik, you are definitely going to play a central part in our history.

Today you have proved again that you are a true hero and the fate of Jorvik is in your hands.”

council_man

That was epic. Thank you Rita! You really performed a miracle today! You saved us from what might have become the end of the world. Do you understand what an amazing hero you really are?

This is Just the Beginning of the End…

alex

What you did here today was very important. We will remember this for a long time. But the danger is not over yet. I am afraid that this is only the beginning. The beginning of something very distressing indeed. We are almost drained of power after this serious episode and I have just received word that we have more miracles to accomplish.

Are you ready?

Objectives: Listen to the new instructions from Alex.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you more about what is happening.

alex

Dark Core has really increased the Garnok-Effect. Their activities seem to have acted as a catalyst that has increased the chaotic power of Garnok. This is very important. I have already seen indications that more cracks have appeared in other places around Silverglade.

They have discovered another large crack at the Winery and another out on Everwind Field. I think we can almost see the pink light shining to the sky from here.

Go and investigate the new cracks and close them if you can. I will clean up the last ones here in the village and restore order. I’ll follow you later if you need any help.

Quest completed

Close the two rifts, then report to Alex in Silverglade Village.

Pandoric Activity on Everwind Field

The dangerous crack shines with the energy of Pandoric magic that seeps out into our reality while at the same time, bit by bit, it sucks in our reality to another magical world, quite like a flowing drain.

Use the Shadow Sucker to weaken the crack and then close it with the power of the Lightning Circle.

Objectives: Use the Shadow Sucker on the crack. Use your abilities to close the crack. Report back to Alex when you are done.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Close the rift then speak with Alex in Silverglade Village.

This cannot be allowed to continue, otherwise Pandoria will quickly absorb out world. I tremble at the thought of what will happen next.

In the Service of the Keepers of Aideen

alex

I don’t know what Mr Sands and his minions have been up to this time, but it is clear that Garnok is much more active than he has ever been before. Now we need to help in keeping watch after new cracks. They can come at any time, and believe me, there are going to be more. I’ll be helping to close the ones that I can.

Are you ready to help me protect Jorvik from the Pandoric Garnok threat?

Even if it is going to take us to the end of time and possibly beyond it?

Objectives: Accept Alex’s offer to help protect Jorvik. Keep your eyes open for new cracks. Every day.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Closing the rifts has now become a daily quest. They will all follow the same process to close. Click on the crack when you approach it to start the opening quest dialogue. Then you can use the Shadow Sucker on it and enter the portal. When you have closed the crack, visit Avalon in Valedale to finish the quests. Each crack you close will give you reputation with the Lightning Circle faction, which will be needed in the future.

alex

There, Rita. We have an important assignment. As Keepers of Aideen, it is our duty to protect Jorvik from going under and vanishing into the Pandorian pink fog.

From now on we need to keep watch. Every day we need to be prepared.

The easiest thing to do is to ride up the mountain and look out over the lands, I think. The pink glow can be seen from a long way away. In the evening, at night, and the early morning will be the best times to see them. Be well informed. Other people can find the cracks and let you know where they might show up.

May the light of Aideen shine over us all in these troubled, pink-glowing times…

Quest completed

Return to Alex when you are Admired by the Lightning Circle.

______________

An End to the Pink…

alex

Well done, Rita! We have managed to calm the wrath of Garnok a little bit. Thanks to your enormous effort, hopefully there will be no more cracks for a good while into the future. The Pandorian imbalance is now smaller after we have fought so valiantly against it.

Finally it is time for a little rest, but the danger is far from over right now. Any moment now Dark Core could do something malicious again to disturb the imbalance again, if they haven’t already…

Objective: Speak with Alex.

Rewards: 250 Jorvik Shillings, 120 XP

Reputation: 50 with the Lightning Circle

-wipes forehead- Whew! Glad that’s over!

alex

You are now a full member of the Lightning Circle, very well done, Rita. There are not many people that make it this far, Rita, you need to know that. You really are something special! Congratulations and welcome to the Lightning Circle!

Let’s see if Avalon has finished with the Shadow Seeker brought to him.

Analysis of the Shadow Seeker

faceless_druid

This was an interesting problem, Rita. I think I have come up with a solution.

We are going to take this little Shadow Seeker and make him good instead of evil. It isn’t as hard as you might think. I think it is important for you to understand the Shadow Seekers. They are terribly angry and evil… but only because where they come from is full of so much evil dark magic. So what we are going to do is simply extract the dark magic and replace it with a little good magic.

Okay, this is what we’ll need to do. Go look behind the houses in town on this side of the river. Behind one of them, I can’t remember which, I planted Kind Herb last year. It should be ready to pick by now. Pick a couple of them and I will make a magic powder with it.

Objectives: Collect some Kind Herb for Avalon. He planted them behind one of the houses in Valedale, but doesn’t remember which one.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

The Kind Herb is located behind the house directly in front of the championship race area in Valedale. When you have collected enough of the herb, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

That was quick. This herb looks really good Rita. Thank you.

Quest completed

______________

Magic Makeover

faceless_druid

Whew. There, now I have ground up the Kind Herb and added a few more secret druid ingredients. Look how nice the powder turned out. Doesn’t it smell wonderful? Like cinnamon in a summer rain.

If you suck up this powder with the Shadow Sucker the Shadow Seeker will  get a good dose of kindness. It should do the trick. Let’s try it and see.

Objectives: Suck up the kindness powder with the Shadow Seeker Sucker.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

Go over to the Shadow Sucker on the ground and use it to suck up the Kind Herb powder.

When you are done, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

There, Rita. I’m glad I could help you. Take the Shadow Sucker with the powder back to the witch. Please tell her from the that the druids don’t hold any ill feelings for her. We are very happy that she is kind again and we would love to meet her for some tea here. She is very welcome.

Quest completed

______________

Back to the Witch

faceless_druid

Please tell Pi that we need to use the converted Shadow Sucker to close the Pandoric rift as soon as possible! It is very important! This is very serious stuff.

Wait, take the rest of the kindness powder with you. You might need it to treat other Shadow Seekers later…

Objectives: Take the kindness powder and the kind spirit back to the witch and explain how the rift should be closed.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride back to Pi in the mountains in Goldenhills Valley.

nice_pi

Hello there.

Wow, that spirit sounds very happy in the scuba tank. We should let him out soon shouldn’t we?

Quest completed

______________

Catch All the Shadow Seekers

nice_pi

The druids want us to close the Pandoric rift with the help of the happy spirits? We should do that right away!

Now that we know how the Shadow Seekers work, we need to catch all the others and clear the way to the rift. Catch them all the same way you caught them before and come back to me when they are all in the scuba tank.

Hurry… As soon as you have caught them all, we have to close that crack. If we are too slow, even more Shadow Seekers will get through.

Objectives: Catch the rest of the Shadow Seekers. Place the Shadow Sucker on the ground and get out of the way. Don’t forget to pick it up every time you manage to catch one.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Venture into the darkness and capture the remaining Shadow Seekers out and about.

When you have caught all of them, return to Pi.

nice_pi

Good! Now suck up the kindness powder into the Shadow Sucker.

Quest completed

______________

Close the Rift

nice_pi

Poof!

There! Now all of the Shadow Seekers are friendly and happy. Listen to them, they are all signing in there. It sounds really nice… We should record it and release it on Jorvikify. It could be a huge hit!

What? You are surprised? Just because I am a witch doesn’t mean I don’t follow the internet and new developments. I love music! Anyways, back to what we have to do!

Now we have to make sure that the crack gets closed so no more evil gets released into our world.

Take the happy Light Seekers up to the crack and place them around it on the ground. Together they should give out so much positive energy that the rift should collapse and the portal to Pandoria should close.

Good luck Rita!

Objectives: Take the light spirits up to the crack and place them around it on the ground. Return to the witch when the rift has closed.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Go and close the rift with the Light Seekers, then return to Pi and tell her how it went.

nice_pi

Well done Rita! I could feel it from here when the darkness left the mountain.

The Light Seekers returned to Pandoria. Why? Not everything from Pandoria is evil you know… It is complicated…

Quest completed

______________

A Lesson on Pandoria

nice_pi

Hmm… Pandoria… Where should I begin?

Yes… Pandoria… You understand that… Hrmm…

Ah… Once upon a time…

Bah… Speak to the druids again. They can explain this thing with Pandoria for you. I don’t have time for that right now… You understand. I left my kettle on the fire so I need to hurry back before it boils away… I also have to do my laundry…

I have to run off now, but this was nice. We should have lunch sometime, what do you think? See you around Rita!

Objectives: Ride to Valedale and speak with the druids about Pandoria.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth will be able to answer your questions.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Pandoria? I knew that you would ask us about this one day.

This is not knowledge we share lightly. It isn’t that we don’t trust you, it is more that we question you are truly ready to accept and comprehend this knowledge. This is the question we ask ourselves.

We will need to discuss this with the council, Rita. Have patience, in time we will share all our knowledge with you.

Hello Rita! Now I’ve spent the whole night magicking the scuba tank and the vacuum into a Shadow Seeker trap you brought me.

Look at my masterwork!

I have used the strongest magic on this… So now you have the strongest possible Shadow Seeker trap that you can use to capture and hold an entire Shadow Seeker army.

The only thing left to do is connect the vacuum and the scuba tank. As the person who is going to use it, you should connect the two. Like this… Pretty easy.

James is having issues. Let’s go see if we can help him.

Nightmares from the Past

james

Hello Rita. I am completely worn out after many long, sleepless nights. Can you believe it? What? No. It isn’t because I have been playing video games all night. It is something else…

I haven’t slept for a long time now. I’ve been tormented relentlessly by horrible nightmares every night. Do you think you can help me?

Objectives: Speak with James and accept the assignment if you want to help him.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Well, even though you are just a little whelp, I’ll still help you. Because I’m nice like that…

james

Thank you. I’ve been a nervous wreck from this lack of sleep and can’t manage my job. The worst part is that I can’t remember what the dreams are about! As soon as I fall asleep, I wake up again… All cold, sweaty and scared to death. But I can never remember the dream.

I think the dream is about something in my past. But what could it be?

Quest completed

______________

Can Dreams Be Read?

james

Can someone really read another person’s dreams? Then it might be possible to find out what is scaring me. Hmm…

Mrs Holdsworth? You think she might have some tips for us? Maybe. The old lady is clever. Could you ask her? I don’t really feel up to the trip myself at the moment… I am completely destroyed. You already have a good relationship with her, right? If you bring it up with her then it might not be so expensive for me…

Objectives: Ask Mrs Holdsworth, who lives outside Moorland Stables, if she can read dreams.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Ride to Moorland and speak with Mrs Holdsworth.

mrs_holdsworth

So the little guy is having nightmares then? And he can’t remember them. Hmm… It sounds like he is dreaming about something he has blocked out… Something horrible and traumatic from a long time ago. But answer me this: Yes I can have a try at reading his dreams, but can I have your help?

Quest completed

A Dream Machine

I need to borrow Carney’s strange contraption that he uses as a comparison machine up there at the Winery. Ride over to him and ask if we can borrow it someday. It is absolutely necessary for us to be able to project James’s dreams for us.

Objectives: Ride over to Carney at the Winery and ask him about borrowing the comparison machine.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Sleeping Pills

mrs_holdsworth

To dream, you need to sleep. Even if James daydreams, sometimes it won’t help us in this case. He needs to sleep like a… Hmm… Like a bear in winter! To get him to do that, we’ll need some sleeping pills from the vet  in Silverglade Village… She will definitely have those.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The vet is always very helpful.

Pills for Mrs Holdsworth

vet

Aha… You need the pills for a project with Mrs Holdsworth to fix James’s sleeping problem? I understand. That is okay. Take this bottle. These sleeping pills are really for the lemmings up by North Link who are not able to sleep because of all the road work going on up there… But now they have earplugs instead. Cheaper and healthier. So take these, they should do the trick!

Objectives: Take the pills to Mrs Holdsworth.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

That’s two things checked off our list.

mrs_holdsworth

That is wonderful that you got the sleeping pills. Normally for lemmings… I thought I had heard of everything… Hmm…

I have a cat somewhere. Here kitty, kitty…

Tell Alex About Her Little Brother

mrs_holdsworth

As I’m sure you know, James is Alex’s little brother. I’m sure she knows more about James’s past than he does. I think you should tell Alex about what James is going through at the moment and ask her to come here tomorrow when we are ready. Alex was here earlier and she said she was going to speak to Conrad. I’m sure you can still find him there at his forge.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Speak with Alex about kid brother.

alex

Hello! So my little brother is having trouble with nightmares? Of course I’ll come and try to help. I’m sure I do remember more of his past than he does… That little weasel.

Tomorrow? No problem. I’ll see you there at Mrs Holdsworth’s. See you soon!

There you are! So that’s the horse we’re transporting? Good. Put it in the container on the barge and tell me when it’s done so the barge can cast off.

Hurry up! Get the steed on board!

Objectives: Leave your horse in or in front of the Dark Core container on the barge.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Go up the ramp at the end of the dock, and board the barge, then walk your horse into the indicated area near the container.

Objectives: Get on board the barge somehow.

Go around behind the containers on the beach and get inside the refrigerator that is left there.

Very strange place to hide, but go with it…

“The container transporting your horse is empty. Summerblaze has already been transferred elsewhere on this Dark Core oil rig…”

______________

Adventure in the Heart of Darkness

self

“You need to find your horse Summerblaze and you have to try to locate Justin. Don’t be seen and caught!”

Objectives: Avoid detection and locate your horse and Justin. Moe towards the main building on the upper level.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP

Reputation: 75 with Keepers of Aideen

The guards follow a predictable pattern. Take your time and watch their movements to synchronize your movements so that you won’t be seen. Utilize the hiding places to remain unseen when you have to cross paths with the guards.

Find a way into the Dark Core building.

self

“You found both your horse and Justin. Justin is in a conversation and no one has discovered you, yet. Maybe you can hear parts of the conversation…”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mr_sands

… I don’t understand. Justin, what do you mean this is not your horse?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_justin

I don’t understand either. There must have been some sort of mixup. The only thing I know for sure is that that isn’t my horse.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

jessica

Nope. We noticed… And it doesn’t have the lovely, dark abilities either. Those that the witch Pi was supposed to give it. That’s just an ordinary nag. Hm… Even a little weaker than a regular horse, I would add. Is it sick?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_rider

Hm… Jessica. It feels like that horse has some sort of hidden power. It’s not sick, but there’s something fishy about it. I can feel its power, but it’s not the kind we expected.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

jessica

This is unheard of! We put so much effort and money on that witch Pi, and then she tricks us like this and sends us… That!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mr_sands

Wait! I don’t think Pi tricked us. She’s been a faithful servant and delivered Dark Horses several times before. You don’t let down Dark Core, you just don’t. There’s been some sort of mistake and we have to find out what it is, and fast! This doesn’t feel right.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_justin

This hose feels familiar somehow. I just can’t place it. My memory is a bit hazy… I must have seen it before, but when?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mr_sands

After you joined us and saw things from the right side – that is, the dark side – you may have forgotten… Some of your past. But it’ll be okay grandson. It’s all right. There’s probably no important memories anyway. Ahem… (cough, cough)

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

jessica

Not only do we lack a Dark Horse for Justin, we still don’t have a perfect candidate for the fourth and final Dark Rider. We have to be four! And it has to be before those darn druids have time to gather their four silly Soul Riders…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_rider

Calm down, Jessica, just calm down. When I scouted Silverglade, I couldn’t find a shred of evidence that they’re on the track for either Lisa or Anne.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

jessica

But they got to Linda, didn’t they?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_rider

I couldn’t arrange her disappearance as elegantly as with Lisa and Anne. He he! One more or less. And if it wasn’t for that newcomer, Linda would still be gone. What was her name again? That horse girl who came to Moorland?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_justin

Rita! Now I remember! And that horse is hers… It’s Summerblaze!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mr_sands

Shh…

I feel a disturbance in the dark force…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_rider

It smells like… Druid? Look! Who’s that lurking behind the curtains?!

I thought I felt someone’s presence anyway! That’s Rita! Get her!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

dark_justin

What do you want?! Rescue me? I don’t want to be rescued!

Get out! Just get out of here, Rita!

I have joined my grandfather and embraced the dark side! Just leave this place. Now! Now!

The Wild Escape From Dark Core

self

“Just sneak out of here! You have to be fast as greased lightning! It’s without Justin this time… Keep the distress flare ready! When you get outside, you have to use it in a good spot, so that Captain Brus can sail his ship in and pick you up.”

Objectives: Ride to the platform where you boarded the rig and meet Captain Brus. Use the distress in the specified location on the way.

Rewards: 125 Jorvik Shillings, 250 XP

Reputation: 120 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow the arrows to escape the Dark Core headquarters. When you reach the open platform, use the distress signal, then continue down to where you boarded, and ride up onto the ship.

Speak to Alex when you get back to Moorland.

alex

You’re back! Tell me about your adventure!

Quest completed

Get Alex Up to Speed

alex

What an adventure you’ve had! I am so impressed by your heroics and your and Summerblaze’s bravery. So Mr Sands and two of his Dark Riders live out there on the oil rig, which is the secret headquarters of Dark Core, and Justin made it clear that he didn’t want to come back. But maybe he had no choice… What else of value did we learn from this?

Objectives: Talk to Alex.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP

Reputation: 50 with Keepers of Aideen

Tell Alex everything you have learned.

alex

That’s true! We have confirmed that Dark Core is behind Lisa’s and Anne’s disappearances. We know that they want to prevent us from gathering four Soul Riders. We also know that they are trying to get four Dark Riders and they’re in a hurry. And Justin is one of their four now!

This is worth thinking about. The next step must be planned well…

Objectives: Inform Elizabeth in Valedale.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

Meeting in Dark Times

elizabeth_sunbeam

The druid meeting needs to happen immediately. Ride up the spiral shaped path, following the sun and get the to druid meeting through the portal. Exactly the same way as last time you went there.

Objectives: Ride along the spiral path up beyond the rune stones to get to the meeting…

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Reputation: 50 with Keepers of Aideen

Go up behind Elizabeth’s house, and stay on the spiral path until you get to the center of the pattern. The portal will open up and you will be transported to the Secret Stonering.

fripp

Together again, the Druids and Soul Riders. In troubled times urgent meetings are required. We have just been informed of the news Rita has brought forwards from her breakneck adventures and we have a lot to carefully consider…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

I think it was quite reckless to bring such a strong Light of Aideen to Scarecrow Hill. Anything could have happened! The Shadow Witches could have easily captured Rita and devoured her spirit in the shadow realm…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

elizabeth_sunbeam

You can be so dense! That Rita happens to have powers as strong as she does can only be seen as a blessing.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

fripp

Your bickering makes my ears hurt. She had no choice but to acquire the apple. We knew this and she succeeded. As desirable as the powers Rita has, they still need to be trained and controlled. We must prioritize her training.

Right now we have important matters to discuss. Let’s review the facts one more time. Alex, please summarize the details.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Of course, Fripp. We know that Justin is in Dark Core’s secret headquarters that has been built on some kind of oil drilling platform southwest of Jorvik. Rita overheard a discussion between Mr Sands, two Dark Riders, and Justin. The conversation was about, among other things, that they had been fooled by Justin’s horse, that had been intended to become a Dark Rider horse, specifically for Justin.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

So Justin is a Dark Rider now?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Yes, we think so. Maybe not a full-fledged member yet, but he is not there against his will. He did not want to be rescued by Rita but we don’t know if he felt pressured to say that only so Rita would not get caught… Rita heard rumors that Mr Sands has manipulated Justin’s memory, so we are really not sure that Justin has chosen freely to be a Dark Rider.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

Okay. So all hope for Justin is not yet lost…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Maybe not…

I’ll continue. Before Rita was forced to escape, head over heels, she heard them say that there must be four Dark Riders and that they are missing one to be able to “do what they need to do.” And what they need to do they need to do before the Soul Riders do it first…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

But? What is it that Dark Core wants to do before we do it? We don’t know what it is.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Rita has already figured it out.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Yes, Rita has come to the terrible conclusion that Dark Core is going to try and speed up Garnok somehow with their Dark Riders.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

That can’t be possible!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

elizabeth_sunbeam

Unfortunately it may well be possible. Our Soul Riders’ primary duty is to fight against Garnok. You can be sure that Dark Riders, being the opposite in every way to our Soul Riders, must have some connection to Garnok.

Dark Core’s secret agenda has always been to strengthen Garnok and control the power to rule the world. We’ve known this for quite some time. There is nothing to indicate that this is no longer true.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

fripp

It is too likely for us to take a chance that it is no longer their plan. It definitely explains why Mr Sands is back again, as he is somewhat of an expert in the area… Hrmmm… He must have come up with something new to have come back to Jorvik again… Especially after what happened last time. -giggles-

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

The lost Light Ceremony Book!

Mr Sands has found the lost Light Ceremony Book! The book that describes how the Soul Riders perform the Light Ceremony to prevent Garnok.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Oh no! You must be right, Linda! Can it be that Mr Sands has located the book? Now they will run the ceremony backwards to make Garnok stronger!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

fripp

If this is the case then he has all he needs to be able to tear down the fragile walls that hold Garnok out of the edge of our reality. Watch over us! The Light of Aideen needs to be with us. Everything can be lost if Mr Sands succeeds…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

faceless_druid

We don’t know that it is that bad yet…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

fripp

No, we have to hope that we are in some way wrong.

But my friends, be aware we cannot afford to do anything but prepare and act as though we are right.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

elizabeth_sunbeam

We must begin to act! We need to succeed in gathering our Soul Riders. We still don’t have any good leads on to locating Lisa and Anne. Information collected by Rita confirms that Dark Core really is behind their disappearances. Can we find more information?

We also really need to get started on training for Rita so she can be a real Soul Rider. Who knows when we are going to find Lisa and Anne… We need an alternative!

What more should we be doing right now? Is there anything else we can do to slow down Dark Core’s plans?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

I think that maybe we can plan another visit to Dark Core. They are a little slower as they are missing a Dark Rider and at least one horse short. Just think if we could manage to grab Justin? Or get a hold of the lost Light Ceremony Book that Mr Sands now has in his possession…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

elizabeth_sunbeam

It goes without saying that going back there is a huge risk to take. But it might be worth it to be able to get some more important information…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

fripp

We’ll finish the meeting now so we can get back to some further planning. We know for now that they are delayed until they can get a new horse for Justin. Elizabeth, you are responsible for making sure that Rita gets as much training as possible before we decide on our next course of action.

We’ll see you again soon. Go in peace, druids and Soul Riders.

______________

When We Are Ready…

elizabeth_sunbeam

There was a lot to discuss. All of it important. We know a lot more now than we did before… Thanks to you. And we know we need to hurry… Time is short and the darkness threatens us all in the form of Garnok. But our next move needs to be planned well.

We will take the next step when we are ready for it. Now we need to plan and prepare so our next step produces the result we want. One wrong move and Dark Core might well succeed with their evil plan, if things are going as we expect.

You need to increase your reputation with Aideen’s Sun Circle to at least Liked. If you haven’t already achieved the level of Liked with Aideen’s Sun Circle, it might take weeks to gain their trust and attain that level… But believe me, it is worth it! Do you understand?

Objectives: Listen to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth will tell you what to do next.

elizabeth_sunbeam

If you are not already initiated in the Sun Circle, I think that is high time that you started to take lessons from me and continue with your training every day until you are ready…

If you are already read then we’ll just have to wait for further instructions from the council.

______________

Druid Training

elizabeth_sunbeam

Now we are going to take this opportunity to give you more druid training. I’m pretty sure by now you are past the beginner stage. You’ve proved that to us by now. So, I think it might be time to give you some more difficult assignments.

I am going to initiate you into the secrets of the druids. Are you certain you want to join us and become a Soul Rider for the Keepers of Aideen?

Are you absolutely certain that you want to follow the path of the Keepers of Aideen?

Objectives: Accept if you want to follow the secret path of the Keepers of Aideen.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with The Sun Circle

Your mission, should you choose to accept….

elizabeth_sunbeam

Excellent. Everything I’m going to tell you now is a secret that you need to keep to yourself and not speak about it in front of anyone. As you know, there are unfriendly ears out there who do not wish us well…

In the Keepers of Aideen there are several specialties you can learn about.

We call these “circles.” I am responsible for the Sun Circle. I’ll teach you all I can, but believe it or not, it will take some time. That being said, you are going to learn amazing new things and I’ll help you with your exciting future.

Quest completed

Return to Elizabeth tomorrow.

Let’s go work on another day of blacksmithing with Conrad.

The Fifth Day of Blacksmithing

conrad_marsdeen

Rita, this is our fifth day of working on these shoes. Listen closely to my instructions. Let’s get started!

Objectives: Use the tongs and the hammer to carry out the tasks Conrad gives you. Be careful and listen closely!

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow Conrad’s instructions as usual. Speak with him when you are done.

conrad_marsdeen

There we go… We are getting close to being done. Only two more days and the horseshoes will be done! Tomorrow we can continue to work with them. Tomorrow we’ll add even more power to the horseshoes… And for that we need more lapis lazuli.

Quest completed

______________

The Blue Metal

conrad_marsdeen

Listen up Rita. To strengthen the power and focus the energy of the horseshoes, we need lapis lazuli. There is lapis lazuli to collect at Nilmer’s Highlands where you have already been. Collect four more chucks of lapis lazuli and bring them back here. Here is the pickaxe you need here.

Objectives: Chip off four good pieces of lazpis lazuli from Nilmer’s Highlands and bring the to Conrad.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

I’m pretty sure lapis lazuli is a gemstone and not a metal, but let’s just go with it…

Ride up to Nilmer’s Highlands, and where the race track goes off from the road, the lapis is along the hill on that trail. The fourth piece, is farther along the trail, down by the pine trees. When you have the four pieces, return to Conrad.

conrad_marsdeen

Those are some great pieces of lapis lazuli! They are going to work perfectly for our work with your horseshoes.

Quest completed

Return to Conrad tomorrow.

Ride to Firgrove and show Mrs Hill the wedding rings you found.

A Special Place

mrs_hill

You found our rings. It feels like waking up from a dream.

Look at me… I am no longer flesh and blood… I am transparent! I’m ready to accept that I am dead… I have to be. I am a ghost.

What was that? You know where my husband is? He doesn’t  know the fate he met a long time ago on that horrible day? I need to go see him. It is the only thing that will give me peace and I’m sure it is the same for him.

I know what we should do. Take our rings and place them on my husband’s grave… Or as I should really say OUR grave… Which I remember now. You should be able to find it. The grave lies a little south of an apple grove, by a little cape where you can see Fort Pinta on the other side of the water. The grave is in the shade of a big old tree.

Objectives: Put the rings on the grave. Our grave lies to the south of the apple grove, by a little hill where you can see Fort Pinta and the official castle on the other side of the castle.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride along the Fire Trail, past Applegrove. There will be a large hill between the road and the water. The graves are hidden in some foliage on the back side of the hill.

You think it might be a problem to get my husband here? That sounds just like him… He has always been very stubborn.

Tell him to meet me at our special place. He will understand what I mean. It was where he proposed to me and it was where we always went for special occasions. When my husband died in that tragic accident, I had him buried here. We always said we wanted to be buried together here when the time came.

Go and give it your best try now. I hope we see you again soon.

Objectives: Tell Mr Hill to go to the couple’s secret meeting place; the hill south of Applegrove.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride back to Nilmer’s Highland and speak with Mr Hill.

mr_hill

James has developed your photos. Let’s go see what they’ve turned up.

Moment of Truth

james

Hello Rita, thus, it seems like the film have been exposed to moisture or something because I could only get one photo. But such a good photo you have taken of Gunther! What? It’s not your camera? I think you need to talk to Gunther about this. Show him this photo!

Objectives: Talk to Gunther because he is on the photo.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Somebody’s got some ‘splaining to do!

Gunther is standing with his family over by the statue.

gunther

But! Why do you have a photo of me?

Quest completed

______________

The Top Model Tells

gunther

Indeed, you are looking for the man who took this photo? Yes, I remember! It was a nice gentleman here who needed some help with his camera. Finally we managed to get it in order and he took a photo of me. Why do you have his camera?

Objectives: Talk more with Gunther.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Let’s see what more our little tourist friend has to say.

gunther

What do you say, he was so nice! It’s very hard to think that he should do something stupid like poaching, but he said he was an angler.

Quest completed

______________

New Information

gunther

I’m afraid that the man you are looking for went home. He was a tourist here like me and my family. During his stay here I saw hi do a lot of fishing round Fort Pinta, probably looking for new challenges. When you are a tourist it can be hard to know what you are allowed to do or not. Is there any information about what rules you have for fishing on this island?

Objectives: Talk more with Gunther.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

I’m pretty sure poaching is a universal no-no. And ignorance is about the lamest excuse in my book.

gunther

I think it may be helpful to check the information. Maybe James can brief the tourists when they arrive, about protected animals and the nature on the island.

Quest completed

Go over and speak with James about Gunther’s suggestion.

Ask James

mr_andersson

Do you know Rita, it sounds like a good idea. I’m sorry that my tourists have caused problems. Of course I will inform them better in the future. Give Mr Andersson my best and apologize for the lost fish.

Objectives: Offer James’ apology to Mr Andersson at the Valedale Lake.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Ride back up to Valedale Lake and speak with Mr Andersson.

mr_andersson

Hello again Rita! Wow, that was a good story. I don’t think that James shall claim responsibility for it all, you know what? I haven’t seen a single sign about the fishing ban.

Quest completed

______________

Collect Wood

mr_andersson

Would you like to help me make signs about the fishing ban? I know that I have all the material needed, but old and muddled as I am I have misplaced both hammer, nails and wood. Third time lucky? Do you want to ride around the lake again and look?

Objectives: Look for hammer, nails and wood around the Valedale Lake.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings and 15 XP

Ride to the marked locations on your map and pick up the pieces needed to make the signs.

Return to Mr Andersson when you have everything.

mr_andersson

Great, I’ll take care of the rest.

Quest completed

Return to Mr Andersson tomorrow.

Now let’s see what Avalon has found in the report.

A Faked Report for Mr Sands

faceless_druid

Now I’ll tell you Rita. The report talks about them experimenting with new drilling methods up by Valedale Lake. They are trying using Pandoric crystals to make the drilling more efficient… And this is what is contaminating the water.

The worst thing is that they are fully aware of how dangerous it is but it doesn’t seem to bother them in the least. Seems like their experiment is going very well, it says so in the report.

But, I should tell you, have rewritten the report to say the exact opposite.

Now the report says using the crystals makes the drilling slower! Am I a clever man Rita? Ho ho! Ride down to Moorland Beach and deliver the report and we’ll see what happens.

Objectives: Ride down with the faked report to Moorland Beach.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Go back to Moorland, to the Dark Core base and give the report to the one Dark Core guy on the beach.

shady_guy

Report from the base at Valedale Lake? Where have you been? Mr Sands is very disappointed that the report is late. Give it to me!

Quest completed

______________

Back to Valedale Lake

shady_guy

Mr Sands is very angry that it took such a long time to deliver that report. You are absolutely going to get fired. Hehe. Ride back to Valedale Lake and report back there. The boss will decide what to do with you. Get going!

Objectives: Report back to the boss at the Valedale Lake base.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back up into the mountains by Valedale Lake and report to the boss there.

shady_guy

What are you doing here? Didn’t you get fired?

Quest completed

______________

Shutting Down

shady_guy

Grr… If I could, I would fire you right now… But I can’t as I have just been fired myself! Everyone here has been fired! I don’t understand… The drilling was a great success!

The poisonous waste? Eh? I don’t care about that. If I can get rid of it? Ha!

If I get a million Jorvik Shillings maybe. Do you have that kind of money? No? Then you can forget it. I’m just going to collect my things and get out of here with all the machines and gear.

Hmm… Maybe I can get a job with G.E.D.?

“I need to speak with Avalon about the waste. Maybe he will have an idea?”

Objectives: Speak with Avalon about the waste.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Go back to Avalon’s house in Valedale and tell him about this new development.

faceless_druid

The cinder? That is what is poisoning the water Rita. We have to find a way to get rid of it… But how? Hrmmm… Haha! I think I have an idea Rita.

Quest completed

______________

Convincing Powder

faceless_druid

I have an idea Rita. We can’t dispose of the waste properly ourselves but with a little trick we might be able to get Dark Core to take care of it themselves. Hoho! We can mix a magical powder that makes the person who eats it do what they are told, a hypnotic is what it is called. Let me tell you about it…

Objectives: Listen to what Avalon has to say.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Avalon will tell you what you need to do to make the powder.

faceless_druid

Okay then… You need to get three things for me.

Quest completed

______________

Valedale Herb

faceless_druid

There is some Valedale Herb growing behind my house. It has strong magical properties and it also tastes delicious. When I analyzed it before I noticed that it had taken in some of the green water and had become much stronger than normal. Good luck from bad one might say. It should be perfect to mix the hypnotic powder with. Bring me five leaves of the Valedale Herb.

Objectives: Behind Avalon’s house there are some Valedale Herb plants. Bring him five leaves from those plants.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Pick five leaves of the herb and return to Avalon with them.

faceless_druid

Good. These herbs should be perfect.

Quest completed

______________

Three Stones

faceless_druid

Another ingredient for the hypnotic powder comes from a kind of stone. It doesn’t look much different from other rocks, pretty much like all the others. But look specifically for stones that have a little bit of a blue tinge down by the river, that is where you will find them. Find three of the right kind that we can grind down.

Objectives: Down by the river there are blue tinged stones that Avalon needs. Collect three of them.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

There is one stone by the reeds near the waterfall. The other two stones are down the road. You shouldn’t need to go much farther past the Valedale Lake Road. When you have the three stones, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

There we go. When we have ground up these stones we can mix them into the powder.

Quest completed

______________

A Mortar

faceless_druid

To mix the powder we need to grind up both the stones and the herb. For that I’ll need my old mortar that is in the shed behind my house. Pick that up and we are ready to start making the powder.

Objectives: Get Avalon’s mortar. It is in his shed behind his house.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

When you have picked up the mortar, return to Avalon with it.

faceless_druid

Good. Now I shall be able to mix the hypnotic powder.

Quest competed

Return to Avalon tomorrow.

Quest completed

______________

A Bad Idea?

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Quest completed

A Better Idea

mr_andersson

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride around the lake to get to the spot marked on your map. Look for a clue that can help figure out who the poacher is. Return to Mr Andersson when you have found something.

mr_andersson

What’s this! A camera! It has to be from the poacher! Shall we develop the photos?

Quest completed

To Be Sure

mr_andersson

First we have to be sure about whose camera this is. If you ask around Valedale if someone is missing a camera, I can ask in Firgrove. We’ll meet here later.

Objectives: Ask someone in Valedale about the camera.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

sophie

Hi, it wasn’t long ago! Do you know what, I have seen that camera before.

Quest completed

A Stranger With a Fishing Rod

sophie

So you are looking for a poacher and think this camera can belong to him? The other day I saw a man with a fishing rod in his hand and exactly this camera around his neck. He went over the bridge and up towards the mountains and the Valedale Lake. I’m pretty sure it’s his camera. You should ride and tell Mr Andersson this.

Objectives: Ride and tell Mr Andersson about the testimony.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Go back to Mr Andersson and tell him what Sophie said.

mr_andersson

Quest completed

If we shall develop this film we should go to James in Fort Pinta. He is very good at photograph and developing. It can take a while to develop a film so I think you should ride to him now. Here, take the camera with you.

Objectives: Talk to James in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

-Scoffs- That’s an understatement if I ever heard one, little dude.

james

Thanks, I will fix all that.

Quest completed

Return to James tomorrow.

Let’s go see if Avalon has figured out the Dark Core password.

Past the Barricade

faceless_druid

Hello Rita. We have been lucky. I was lucky to hear that the password was “John Blund.” So now you can act like you are working for Dark Core when you sneak into that area up there.

In addition, the crystal you found is definitely Pandoric in origin. If Dark Core uses these crystals it is no surprise that the water is becoming contaminated. You need to stop them, no matter what they are doing. Good luck Rita!

Objectives: Ride up past the barricade by Valedale Lake and tell the guard the password.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride up to Valedale Lake and head towards where you got the sample from the waterfall, and speak to the guard there.

shady_guy

John Blund. That’s right. You seem awfully young to be working for Dark Core… Are you sure you should be here?

Quest completed

______________

Road to Dark Core’s Secret

shady_guy

You need to ride up to the boss there on the mountain. I’m only the guard here. Follow the road and you will find him. Get going!

Objectives: Speak with the boss. Follow the road.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Sheesh. It must be a job requirement to work for Dark Core you have to be perpetually impatient and cranky.

Go up the now opened road and follow it all the way to the end. The boss is standing at the construction site.

shady_guy

Aha. So you are going to begin working here? You don’t look like any worker I’ve ever seen, but I’m guessing you can help with some of the small jobs that I need done. But no complaining or you’ll get fired on the spot!

Quest completed

The next three tasks the boss gives you must all be done on foot, so you have to dismount from your horse.

Oil Dark Core’s Machines

shady_guy

Listen up pipsqueak. Our huge drilling machines need to be oiled. I would do it myself it it wasn’t so boring… So now you get to do it instead. Ha! Take this oil and lubricate the machines at the marked spots. Make it quick.

And no whining. I’ll kick you off this mountain so fast your head will spin!

Objectives: Oil the machines with the machine oil.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Use the oil can to oil the big drilling machine behind you. Speak with the boss again when you’re done.

shady_guy

It smelled bad? Hahaha! I know, it is so great not to have to do it anymore.

Quest completed

______________

Cinder Disposal

shady_guy

Listen up little weasel! When we drill in the mountains there is a bunch of waste. This needs to be taken care of. It isn’t any fun and it is a bit dangerous, but as the new person you get to do it. Take the shovel and get started on the cinder in the pile over there. No being lazy… I’ll be watching.

Objectives: Use the shovel to shovel the cinder down the cliff.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Use the shovel on the several green lumps in front of the drilled out tunnel. Then take them and place them on the pile of similar lumps stacked in the corner behind the drilling machine. Speak to the boss when you are done.

shady_guy

Heavy work right? Haha! NO whining I said!

Quest completed

______________

Dark Core Lunch

shady_guy

Come here little monkey! I’m starting to get hungry. Go fetch my lunch from the cooler over there. Hurry up! My stomach is rumbling!

Objectives: Get the lunch for the boss fro the cooler and give it to him.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

-Stares daggers-

The cooler is back towards the entrance to the construction site. It is wedged between a storage container and a big oil tank. Pick up the lunch inside the cooler and take it to the boss.

shady_guy

Ha. Horse-sandwich. My favorite! Mmmm… good.

That was great!

Quest completed

______________

Report to the Headquarters

shady_guy

Hmmm. Maybe you aren’t completely worthless after all. I have an important job for you. I can’t trust these other jobbies. Look here… This is a report to Mr Sands that describes how the work is going here. When he sees this report he is going to promote me right away. You’ll see… Using this green crystal we drill twice as quickly as we did before. The water is green? Yeah, we have seen that, but who really cares? Killing nature? Hahahaha! Who cares!

Here is the report. Ride down as quick as you can to our base by Moorland Beach so my colleagues can get it to Mr Sands as soon as possible. No daydreaming!

“Hmmm… this needs to go to Avalon instead.”

Objectives: Ride to Avalon with the report.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back down the road you came, and go take the report to Avalon in Valedale.

faceless_druid

Rita? Great that you are here. I’ve done a deeper analysis of the river water and I can already see signs of nature beginning to die around the river.

So, you were inside the Dark Core barricade. Did you find anything out? A report? Let’s have a look. Hrmmm. This report is encrypted. I think I can break it… but it will take some time. Come back tomorrow when I’ve had a chance to work on it.

Quest completed

Return to Avalon tomorrow.

Mr Andersson has found his old fishing pole and we’re ready to go get some new fish for the lake.

Fishing Time

mr_andersson

Here it is! My old fishing rod. It has been through a lot, you should know. Once upon a time I was a great fisherman in Fort Pinta, oh yes! But what were we talking about, yes, new fish! Unfortunately I don’t know where our Valedale fish used to be, except from here, so I suggest that you go for a fishing trip. But I do know that the worms from the mountain pass only taste good for the Valedale fish. Don’t ask me why but I can guarantee that when the fish bite it will be a Valedale fish. I have marked some places on the map where you should be able to find some fish. Good luck!

Objectives: Fish for Valedale fish at the places Mr Andersson has marked on your map. Return to Mr Andersson afterwards.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

There are two spots on the same side of the river. The other two you will have to cross the bridge to get to. Once you approach a fishing spot, you have to be dismounted to use the fishing pole. When you have visited all four spots, return to Mr Andersson.

mr_andersson

Excellent, Rita! You seem to have a natural talent for fishing!

Go to the spot marked on your map to release the fish. Return to Mr Andersson when you have done so.

mr_andersson

Well done! Now we have to wait and see. Keep your fingers crossed!

Quest completed

Return to Mr Andersson tomorrow.

Now let’s go see what Avalon has found out about the water samples.

Past Dark Core’s Roadblock

faceless_druid

Hello Rita. Right on time! I have analyzed the samples you took and very carefully. It is exactly like I though and the water has been contaminated with Pandorian Crystals. We need to stop this before it gets any worse. So far it hasn’t affected the nature too much but if it gets any worse it could have horrible consequences. All of Valedale Lake and all the nature around the Silversong River could die.

Let me tell you what I think we should do.

Objectives: Listen to what Avalon has to say.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

It seems Avalon has a plan in that old hooded head of his.

faceless_druid

You need to get past the roadblock by Valedale Lake and watch what they are doing. To do that you will need two things.

Quest completed

The next two quests can (and should be, it will save you a lot of time!) be taken together at the same time.

What is Dark Core Doing in the Mountains?

faceless_druid

You need to find out what they are up to there by Valedale lake. My guess is they are getting their equipment from the Dark Core base by Moorland Beach. See if you can find any clues that can help us figure out what they are doing that is poisoning the water.

Objectives: Find something that explains what Dark Core is doing up by Valedale Lake by looking near their base at Moorland Beach.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Go to the beach behind Mrs Holdsworth’s house in Moorland, and snoop around the several crates lying on the beach and on the barge (there’s a little hill in the sand you can ride up to jump onto the barge). When you have found something, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

Yes? Aha. This crystal is glowing with Pandoric energy. Be very careful with it Rita. This kind of energy can be very dangerous. Let me have it so I can examine more thoroughly.

Quest completed

______________

A Way Past the Barricade

faceless_druid

You need to find a way to get past the barricade Rita. You said the guard asked after a password? You need to find out what that password is. I don’t know how but I think a good place to start would be by their base at Moorland Beach. I hope you think up something clever quick!

Objectives: Look for a password by the Dark Core base by Moorland Beach.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Go to the beach behind Mrs Holdsworth’s house in Moorland. There’s a little hill in the sand you can ride up to jump onto the barge. There is a walkie talkie sitting on the edge of the barge.

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to Valedale with the walkie talkie.

faceless_druid
