a challenge remains, aideen's song at first light, godfrey, linda, lisa, lisa's relief, meeting before daybreak, museum curator, over the sea in aideen's footsteps, paid those dues, prepare prepare prepare, sleeping widow, the return, visiting jorvik museum

Dismount your horse to speak to Godfrey, so that you can set off to the museum.

Visiting Jorvik City Museum!

godfrey

Right then ladies! Let’s get going!

To the museum in Jorvik City, here we go! No ice cream in the car though… They seats are clean and they’ll be staying that way.

Objectives: Borrow the harp of Aideen from the Museum Curator and return to Silverglade.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

You will be transported to the museum lobby. Move forward with Lisa and Linda to speak to the Curator, who is standing at the entrance.

museum_curator

Good day to you! Welcome, welcome!

I’m terribly proud to welcome you to Jorvik City Museum. Sadly, we’re closed right now because of all the refurbishment work we’re doing, but my good friend the Council Man has put in something of a good word for you young ladies.

The Council Man’s friends are my friends!

Since you’re my friends now, I shall of course open up the Museum for you!

I understand you seek to loan something from our collection, hmm?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Yes, dear Curator. We pray humbly to borrow Aideen’s harp.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

museum_curator

Oh… Umm, ah. It’s a real treasure and a terribly fragile artifact, you see. It’s unique in its kind, and if the myth has any truth in it, it is really tremendously special! I don’t really know…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Our intentions are good, Curator. If we hadn’t been absolutely desperate, we would never had the cheek to ask! This is really important to us, and I swear by Aideen’s Light that we’ll bring it back to you in perfect condition.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

museum_curator

Well, well, I do suppose I promised the Council Man I’d help out. His friends are, as I said, my friends. If you promise to guard it with your life and return it no later than tomorrow, then I rather suppose it would be acceptable for you to borrow it. Did you know by the way that we’ve never been able to date the harp? We only know it’s incredibly old.

Unfortunately all of our exhibits are in storage because of the renovation, so you’ll have to help me find it if you don’t mind… Rather silly of me, but I don’t actually have the inventory we made when we packed it all away, so it’s rather chaotic here. I know it’s in one of those boxes in the corner.

You seem to be sharp and quick little youngsters, so you’ll be sure to find it amongst these things in no time at all. While you’re at it, you could even jot down a quick new inventory for me so that I know what’s in each box.

That way, you can lend a hand since I’m lending you the harp!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Of course, Curator, of course.

Click on each box shown on the screen to open it and discover its contents. Continue opening boxes until you have found the harp. Click on it to pick it up.

museum_curator

How wonderful that you found Aideen’s Harp! Do excuse the disarray here, but now I’ve got help getting started with the new inventory! That was handy.

So, you’ve got what you came for. Don’t forget to return it in the condition you received it. It’s so very precious, so you must handle it with extreme care and respect…

Until we meet again!

Follow Lisa and Linda to the door to return to the Winery.

godfrey

Finally home again! That went well. Maybe I could be convinced to drive you into the city again some other time. But only maybe.

______________

Meeting Before Daybreak

lisa

So, we’ve got the harp, but not the melody. I remember how to learn it though, since Elizabeth told me exactly how.

One has to be high up in a place surrounded by the silence and stillness of daybreak. If you have a gentile and kind enough soul, you’ll be able to hear Aideen’s melody on the wind…

We Soul Riders should have enough of the right spirit to make this work, says Elizabeth.

One of the better places to hear the beautiful, mystic melody of Aideen is to embrace the dawn winds on top of the West Wall Cliff, but it’s hard to get to.

Rita, y’know the path up to the Mountaineering Hut north of Firgrove?

Hmm…

Well, let’s do it this way…

Meet me on the path up the Firgrove Mountain Passage, north of Firgrove, just north of where the Firgrove Championship starts, so we ride to the cliffs together before dawn.

Objectives: Meet Lisa by the mountain trail just north of Firgrove. Follow her to the West Wall Cliff.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride or transport to Firgrove and meet Lisa on the trail outside of the village. If you do not know the location, it is highlighted on your minimap.

lisa

Hey Rita! You’re here already!

We’re a little early, but we can go to the place they call the West Wall Cliff, and wait for daybreak there.

Seriously though, Rita, I don’t think this is gonna work. Riding on the water… We’ll see. I hope it works out though. I really hope with all my heart that we can do this and repay what we owe to the Primeval Tree.

It’s misty up on the mountain top and there’s wolves up there. Ah, well. Come with me now and stay close. The path is steep and dangerous, and the location is hard to find.

Come on!

Follow Lisa up to the cliff.

It was easy for me to follow her, but I got disconnected from the server after this quest and had to find my way back up there on my own and found that difficult. In case that happens, if you lose Lisa on the way there, or want to find it on your own, here is a video that shows the route she takes up to the cliff.

lisa

Here it is! Wonderful views! Isn’t it beautiful? Lovely that the mist clears a little all the way up here.

Quest completed

______________

Aideen’s Song at First Light

lisa

Then we’re only waiting for daybreak. We’ll sit here and eat some chocolates while we wait.

Objectives: Listen to Aideen’s song in the dawn light.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Await the coming of daybreak, and when the song appears to you, click to catch each glowing piece of the song. You may have to move your horse around on the cliff and rotate your camera to easier catch each song piece.

lisa

Her song was so beautiful! Now I’ve learned the melody, we’re all done here.

Quest completed

______________

Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!

lisa

Right then. Let’s rest a little here in this beautiful spot and practice the piece of music a little before we try to pull off this feat later.

See you down by the beach when we feel ready… Next to where the roots stop.

You’ve got the Fragment of Aideen’s Light, haven’t you? Don’t forget to bring it with you.

Objectives: Take Aideen’s Light with you and meet Lisa by the beach, right by where the roots stopped.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Make your way back down the cliff, or you know, cheat and call for pickup, whichever you prefer, haha…

Be sure to have the Light fragment in your personal inventory. It cannot be deleted, so it is either in your backpack or your stable supply.

When you are ready, meet Lisa on the beach in Forgotten Fields, where you previously found the place that the Sleeping Widow’s roots reach the farthest. The location is marked on your minimap.

lisa

Hi! You excited? You’ve got the Light of Aideen with you?!

Then let’s give this melody a go, shine the light from the fragment and then ride over the water to the beach just below Scarecrow Hill. Sounds simple, right?

Quest completed

______________

Over the See in Aideen’s Footsteps

lisa

Right, we’ll ride over the water here if everything’s as it should be. Stay close to me and shine the Aideen Fragment at even intervals; the roots must be healed with an even and steady flow. Keep pace with me or you’ll end up in the water and we’ll have to start over!

Objectives: Ride close to Lisa. Shine Aideen’s Fragment at regular, even intervals.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Stay close enough to Lisa to remain on her magic circle of light above the water. At the same time, click the button to shine the light at regular intervals. It cannot be used too many times in a row, but also do not let the magic meter empty or you will have to start over. Don’t fall in the water either, or its back to the beginning.

Reach the other side safely and speak to Lisa there.

lisa

Woah. What have we done?! Seems like it actually worked! I’m speechless. I never thought it could happen… I think we’ve performed a miracle!

Quest completed

______________

Paid Those Dues?

lisa

It’s not every day we get to make a miracle happen… Now we should ride off to the Sleeping Widow and make sure everything is in order and that she feels we’ve paid our debt to her! See you by the Primeval Tree!

Objectives: Talk to the Sleeping Widow and make sure she thinks you’re all even.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

The quickest way to get there is to ride to the Riding Hall and cross the water behind the Hall and into the Forgotten Fields.

Whichever route you choose to take, meet Lisa by the Sleeping Widow.

sleeping_widow

Creeeeakkk… Greetings my little kittens. You’ve done incredible deeds and have fully repaid your debt to me with the tasks I asked for. I now have re-established contact with my kinsmen and my life now has a new meaning. All thanks to you!

Thank you my beauties. Go in peace.

…Creeeeeakkk!

Quest completed

______________

A Challenge Remains

lisa

Fantastic. Now we’ve restored the balance! Hahaha, there I was thinking we’d never do it. Luckily I was wrong!

There’s just one thing left to do and that’s to return the harp to the museum.

Hmm? You want to do it? Fine by me, haha! See you later at the Vineyard. I’m going to see if I can find Alex, who should be on guard somewhere or other. I’m dying to tell her what we’ve been up to!

Here’s the harp! Handle it with care. When you have it in your grasp, you can really get a feel for just how old it is. Hopefully our bitter butler is down with driving you into the city again.

Objectives: Take Aideen’s Harp back to the museum. Ask if Godfrey, the butler, would be able to drive you there again.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Return to the Winery and speak to Godfrey there.

godfrey

Ah, good day to you! Hhnnnggg… Back to the museum?! Again?!

Hmm, well I rather thought as much since you’d probably need to be heading back with the harp. Well, if one has applied oneself to a task, it’s best that one sees it through to the very end, even if it is in the role of a private chauffeur. Well, you should let me clean the harp first. Perhaps it needs a little attention after having been used.

It’s not often one gets the chance to handle such a beautiful artifact outside the museum walls, you know.

Quest completed

______________

The Return

godfrey

See? There we are! Now the harp is beautifully clean and looks in lovely condition. Now let’s head to the museum! Here, hold onto the harp the whole way there so that nothing happens to it. To the museum!

Objectives: Give the harp back to the Curator at Jorvik City Museum.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Approach the Curator to speak to him and show him you returned with the harp.

museum_curator

Ah, look! Look who it is! Welcome back to Jorvik City Museum!

And, ah, look! The harp is with you and it looks just like how it did when you loaned it, not that I would expect anything else of course!

I truly hope you got good use from the beautiful old thing. Set it down carefully in this box, if you would.

You’re the Council Man’s friends, and his friends are of course my friends, and friends are always welcome at the Museum, regardless of whether it’s open or closed like it is now for refurbishment!

Until next time, friends!

Goodbye, goodbye!

Leave the harp back carefully in that empty box beside me and then we’re all done!

Goodbye! Farewell!

Click to place the harp into the open box beside the Curator, then head towards the door to return to the Winery.

Speak to Godfrey when you arrive.

godfrey

So, you’d say we were finished to-ing and fro-ing to the museum? Splendid.

Have a lovely day, Rita.

Quest completed

______________

Lisa’s Relief

lisa

Thank you Rita for all the help! I’ve told Alex what we’ve accomplished today. Thanks to you Rita and Linda, we managed to get that weird request from the Primeval Tree all fixed up!

Without you guys, I’d have been full of doubt. I wouldn’t have been able to do what we did on my own. It’s such a relief to have you around, and it’s even nicer to no longer be indebted to the Primeval Tree.

You’re all such true friends! It’s an amazing feeling to be back with you all.

Objectives: Talk to Lisa.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

It was fun working with you all, too!

lisa

The adventure is over. For now… We’ll see what happens here next; it doesn’t seem as though Alex, Linda, the druids, or scoutmasters have spotted any increased activity from Dark Core yet.

But they’re probably just waiting for the right time…

We’ll have to stay on the lookout!

It is time to pay our debts to the Sleeping Widow for rescuing Lisa. Speak to Lisa and Starshine at Jorvik Stables, near the stables’ inn.

A Debt to Pay

lisa

Hi Rita! Now I feel truly rested after our recent hardships.

I’m ready to talk with the Sleeping Widow to be able to repay the debt I have to her after she helped me out of Pandoria.

Perhaps you can help me with that?

You know that ancient tree better than I do at this point, and I have the feeling that I won’t exactly get away with being given an easy task.

Objectives: Talk to Lisa.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Well, we do owe her for saving your life…

lisa

How lovely that you want to help me. I’m afraid I’m going to need all the help I can get. Let’s find out what kind of pay-off the Sleeping Widow is expecting.

I’m curious as to what it could be…

Quest completed

______________

Last One to the Tree’s a Little Piggy!

lisa

Right then. Ready for a little adventure?

Nice! Let’s see who’s gonna get to the Sleeping Widow first!

Last one to the Primeval Tree is a little piggy!

Take whatever route you like! Hmm… I’m thinking I’ll probably go through Goldspur Farm and over the north of Grey Dew Mountain.

Starshine! Run like the wind! Woohoooo!!

Objectives: Ride together with Lisa to the Sleeping Widow.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

This quest is a race with a time to get to the Sleeping Widow, though you get seven minutes to complete, so it is ample enough time to take whichever route you choose. Lisa will run ahead of you quickly and you will lose her at about the Jarlaheim gates, no matter the speed of your own horse. Continue your trek to the Sleeping Widow and the race will end when you get there.

lisa

Hahaha! That was fun! You did it! You won!

So I guess that means it’s me who’s the little piggy, hahaha! But little pigs are cute too, right?!

Quest completed

Creaky Sleepy Sleepy Creaky

lisa

Is she really still awake?

Seems like she’s sleeping. Maybe we can just get out of here, she’s probably forgotten all about our favors and arrangements…

C’mon and we’ll head home. It’s probably for the best.

Hmm? You want to try getting through to her? I suppose that’s a good idea.

Try talking to her and we’ll see…

Objectives: Is the Primeval Tree asleep?

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

You’re not getting out that easily, little miss Lisa…

Click on the tree to try waking her again.

sleeping_widow

The Sleeping Widow’s Request

sleeping_widow

Creeeaakkk… About time! I wondered where you’d all got to…

Objectives: Listen to the request of the Primeval Tree.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Yet another tale of woe and worry…

lisa

Oh! You’re awake after all.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Creeeeaaakkkk… My dear friend. I’m as awake as I can be.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Firstly, I just want to repeat my thanks for helping me out of Pandoria’s prison. Without your help and the help of Starshine and Rita, I’d never have been able to leave.

I’m here to repay my debt to you. I’m completely at your service. What could I possibly do to repay that which you did for me?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Creeeaakkk…

I helped you out of your prison.

Now I want you to help me out of mine.

My wish is that you help me once again become a part of the contact network of the Primeval Trees and I’m certain you can help me.

Creeeeakkk… Humans took the lives of my kin with their barbaric deforestation. Such despicable treatment! I will never forgive them, even though they realized it was a hideous mistake.

Traitors. Deceitful in soul and nature.

Well, well… Creeeeakk. As if it wasn’t enough that I was left alone when the lives of my kin were torn down, I was also disconnected from our network.

Because of all this death, the roots that connected me to my kin withered away and died, leaving me isolated from our community.

Creeeakkk…

My roots may well reach all the way to Pandoria, but they don’t reach as far as the next living Primeval Tree. My companion was the link between me and the next tree and was therefore my only connection to the network of roots that make it possible for us to communicate! Creaakkkk…

Creeeeakk… I haven’t been in touch with my kind in centuries.

I thought perhaps you might help in taking care of that, Lisa and Rita.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Dearest ancient tree! It’s a true honor to receive such a task. Do you have any, umm… Some kind of, err, suggestion as to how we might exactly go about it?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Crreeeeakk… Ah, Lisa. I have a suggestion.

When Aideen came to the world, she healed the land and spread life over the dead cliffs. With her song, her music, and her light, you can ride over the bay and bring my roots back to life so that I might reconnect with the Primeval Tree at Scarecrow Hill.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Eh…?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Creaakk? Difficult? No, no, my little friends. Aideen did it and so can you.

Creak…

You’re not trying to wriggle out of our agreement, are you? You won’t disappoint me? Like all the other treacherous humans have always done…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Of course not! Not all humans are deceitful in their soul and nature! We are definitely not petty traitors. But the legend of Aideen’s ancient exploits is exactly that: Just a legend! How do we…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Creeeeeakkkk!!

I don’t know how you’ll do it. Aideen could. You’ll simply have to figure out how she did it. Now it’s just a matter of a few roots; Aideen actually created life! I’m not asking for those kinds of miracles from you.

How hard can it be?

Creeeaaakk…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

How… No. It… It can’t be that difficult.

Or?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

My roots need to reach right across the bay. You can see the Primeval Tree on Scarecrow Hill from here. So close, yet so, so far away. When my roots reach the other side, I’ll be part of the network of Primeval Trees again.

You must help me! Creeeeaaakkk…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

We’ll do our absolute best.

We promise to do everything in our power to help you.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

sleeping_widow

Creeeaaakkk… I know you’re capable. Aideen was.

I’ve spoken now.

It’s up to you to get this done. The time for talking is over.

Creeeaaaaakkk…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Hmm? Ride over water? Bring dead roots back to life? How’s that going to work? This all sounds pretty tricky. I doubt it’ll work out.

Quest completed

______________

The Dead Tree

lisa

I’ve got no idea how we’ll follow through on her request.

I suppose we can at least start with a little reconnaissance. Let’s get going and see if we can locate the remains of the sawn-down Primeval Tree.

I seem to remember seeing a huge tree stump when I’ve been riding by the beach a little north of here… Let’s go and check it out!

Objectives: Ride to the stump of the dead Primeval Tree and talk to Lisa.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow Lisa to the stump of the dead tree. If you happen to lose sight of her, the location is marked on your minimap.

lisa

So, here’s where the Primeval Tree used to stand proudly before it was sawn down centuries ago. Around here is roughly were the Sleeping Widow’s roots reach. We’re going to make sure the roots grow out over the bay here and right across the beach at Golden Hills Valley on the other side. See?

Quest completed

______________

The Root City Limits

lisa

Let’s ride down to the shore and take a closer look.

Objectives: Ride to the shoreline a little to the north and talk to Lisa.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow Lisa to the shore where the roots reach out. This location is also marked in case you lose sight of her.

lisa

Ah, here’s a better view. See? Right down there, I can imagine how the roots would push outwards… They’re a few feet down below the water’s surface, but it’s here they reach and no farther. Hmm.

How’s this ever going to work?

Can’t we just pull some string across the bay and attach a couple of tin cans on either end? Easier to just talk on a tin can phone, right? Hahaha!

Nah, sorry. Seriously though, it’s pretty obvious we need help.

Quest completed

______________

Sage Advice

lisa

We need advice. Linda knows loads about the Primeval Tree, and Elizabeth is usually full of wisdom. Linda and Alex are most often to be found on spy duty along the coast. They’re keeping a lookout in case Dark Core’s hoods come ashore someplace. Sometimes they’re free though, and in those cases, Linda’s almost definitely at the Vineyard.

I can ride over to Valedale and talk to Elizabeth if you go to the Vineyard and get Linda’s advice?

If she’s even there, that is…

Okay?!

Objectives: Ride to the Vineyard and see if you can get some advice from Linda.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride or transport to the Silverglade Vineyard and find Linda near the stables.

linda

Hey Rita! So it’s you again! Nice to see you… Any news?

Quest completed

______________

Linda’s Lessons

linda

Oh! You said you’re going to do what now? The Primeval Tree thinks you should copy the exploits of Aideen? From the legend?

Oh my…

Objectives: Listen to Linda’s advice.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

While she has her doubts, at least she’s not as much of a negative nancy that Lisa is…

linda

When I read about the Primeval Trees and their fate, I also learned that the Sleeping Widow was cut off from the network of roots and so can’t communicate with the others. I really understand why she’d asked you to do this; it must be awful to be so isolated in that way.

But bringing life to dead roots, or even getting her roots to grow across an entire bay? Sounds complex to me. That said, those Primeval Trees are wise.

They know things we don’t know…

Maybe it’s possible to do as Aideen did in the legend somehow. You’ve got the fragment with her light, and we know that the legend claims the light can bring life to the dead, I mean the Sleeping Widow herself reacted to the light and those tears…

Hmm…

According to the legend, Aideen had a harp in one hand and the life-giving light of Jor’s Flame in the other when she rode across the water.

The legend says that her music and her life is what brought forth life to Jorvik.

Lisa possesses the strong healing power of the Star Circle.

With Lisa’s healing magic, and if you’ve got the light and the harp… Maybe you can actually do something similar to that which Aideen did in the legend?

Maybe it’s precisely what the Primeval Tree means. Maybe it can actually get the roots to grow over the seabed of the bay and reach the other side…

Maybe.

Maybe you don’t literally need to actually ride over the water. Surely you can use a boat? Either way, you’ll need the harp and I know where it is.

Oh! I have a text message on my cell from Lisa!

She says she’s spoken to Elizabeth, who seems to think that if you play the right melody on Aideen’s harp, you can actually ride over the water! Lisa’s apparently got all the info about how to learn the melody which makes it all possible. She’s on her way in a horse trailer…

Where were we? Oh yeah, all these ‘maybes’…

It seems as though Aideen’s harp is on display at the museum at Jorvik City. They usually have it on show when they have their historical exhibitions.

Hey, by the way, did you know that this is the actual harp that’s on Jorvik’s flag?

quest-jorvik_flag

The green on the flag represents the beautiful green island of Jorvik and the luscious and rich life which covers the island. The blue above the green represents heaven, and the blue below is the sea. The white lines symbolize timelines from history and for the future.

But enough about Jorvik’s flag, now.

Look, here comes Lisa!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Hey guys! Got anything yet?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Yeah Lisa, we have.

I was just saying that however weird it might sound, you might just be able to mimic Aideen’s legendary life-bringing movements, just as the Primeval Tree seems to want.

Rita has the fragment. You Lisa, have got the healing magic from the Star Circle. Elizabeth already told you that you can ride over the water with the help of a melody played on Aideen’s harp.

If that works, you won’t even need to think about cheating with a boat!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Amazing! It sounds totally crazy but it’s worth a try in any case. The worst that can happen is that we get a bit wet ’round the hooves!

I’m super doubtful as to whether it’ll even work though.

Ah well, I guess it’ll be me playing the harp then, since I’m pretty well used to string instruments.

Rita, you’re alright with shining the light fragment? Y’know, since you’ve used it before and all?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Aideen’s fragment which is with Rita is still loaded with light so it doesn’t need to be recharged. That’s good. But back to the harp.

Sadly the museum in Jorvik City is closed for refurbishment.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Yeah, typical. I heard that from Elizabeth, but she said the Councilman in Silverglade Village is friends with the museum curator… And you, Rita… You know the Councilman pretty well, right?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Smart!

Rita, you ride over to the Councilman and ask if he wouldn’t mind asking the curator for a favor by opening up the museum and lending us the harp for a while, okay?

Then it sounds like we’ve got a plan, right?!

Quest completed

______________

Do You Know the Museum Curator?

linda

We’ll meet up again here after you’ve spoken to the Councilman in Silverglade Village.

Until then, I’m going to see if I can try to convince the butler to give us a ride to Jorvik City in his car…

Objectives: Talk to the Council Man in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

I know the Muffin Man but not the Museum Curator, but I’m always open to making new friends…

Ride to Silverglade Village and find the Council Man near the Town Hall.

council_man

Rita! Wonderful weather, no? Almost every day it’s this nice! Have you thought about that?

Hmm? If I know the Museum Curator in Jorvik City?

Quest completed

The Curator Catches On

council_man

I know the Museum Curator very well indeed! We’re old classmates, him and I. I can guarantee he’ll let you in and let you borrow anything you need if I put in a good word for you. I’ll do that of course. Put in a good word, that is. You can put my good word in the bank!

I’ll call him right after you leave.

You can ride back to your friends and let them know that the curator will absolutely welcome you with open arms! Of that you can be certain!

Objectives: Talk to Lisa and tell her that the Curator is on board.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Return to the Winery and tell Lisa the news.

lisa

Fantastic! Now we know that at least we’re welcome at the museum!

Convince That Butler!

linda

The miserable old fossil doesn’t want to take us to Jorvik City!

At least not without our parents’ permission. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard… Godfrey and the Baroness owe us pretty big and I’m not sure they even realize that we’re not kids anymore.

Can’t you try and convince him?

Objectives: Convince Godfrey the butler to drive you to Jorvik City Museum.

Rewards: 13 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

“Convince That Butler!”, the newest gameshow coming to Jorvik this fall!

Speak to Godfrey to ask if he will drive you and your friends to Jorvik City.

godfrey

Hmm…? Rita! Hello, hello! Pffff…

It’s rather strange how everybody suddenly wants to go to the big city. You’re a responsible lass with decent judgement, so I rather expect it would be quite fine for you to come along to Jorvik City.

That said, it shan’t be happening before tomorrow, as it’s then that I have business to attend to in town. You shall have to remain patient until then, for a little order and regulation goes quite the distance, you see.

Quest completed

Return to Godfrey tomorrow.

Rita! Thank goodness you were also here. You see what awful things have happened here in the village? It is a disaster! A catastrophe! Is this the beginning of the end? Is this the final doomsday? Is this how Silverglade and Jorvik is going to end… Swallowed in a hungry purple-pink glow?

Is Garnok above us now? Is Garnok finally going to get us all?

Something has really awoken the wrath of Garnok… And I suspect this is the result of foolish things those clods from Dark Core have been messing with.

What do you think, Rita?

Shadow sucker? Witch?

Tell us what you think we should do..

No? Oh? A catastrophe of catastrophic proportions in Silverglade Village? You want to use the Shadow Sucker?

I have actually improved the Shadow Sucker a little bit. Dust from the Light Spirits has made it extra magical and I have strengthened the function of the device both in magic and mechanical means. I’ve magicked and mechanicked!

But I am going to need until tomorrow to make it perfectly ready…

What? That doesn’t work for you?

Anyways, take the Shadow Sucker. But remember to treat it carefully.

You are welcome, Rita.

Quest completed

______________

To Rescue Silverglade Village!

nice_pi

In addition to the magical improvements, I have also made the pulling power of the Shadow Sucker stronger. Now you should be able to pull in the Shadow Seekers from farther away! Fantastic, right? You might not be able to grab the strongest ones, but most of them you should be able to get before they get too close to you.

There! Now you can run off and save Silverglade Village… So don’t just stand around doing nothing. It was you who was in a rush, my friend.

Oh… And good luck! Remember the Shadow Sucker needs to be emptied sometimes and neutralized. The Druid Avalon can probably handle that.

Here I come! Have faith my citizens!

You can leave Summerblaze with me. We are save here while you run around with the Shadow Sucker.

It is best to have your inventory open while you run around. You have to be holding the Shadow Sucker with your cursor and when you get close enough to a Shadow Seeker, the box around the item will turn green and you can use it to catch the Shadow Seeker. Do not get too close to them or they will chase you out of town.

When you have caught all of the Shadow Seekers, speak with the Councilman

council_man

Ha! I knew that you would save us! Now that we have gotten ride of the immediate threat from those horrible shadows that were frightening everyone. Now there is only those scary cracks left to deal with.

Uh, where can I buy one of those vacuum cleaner thingies? I would like to buy one for myself.

Quest completed

______________

Deeper into the Secrets of the Druids

alex

Whew! That was a close one. But now the village is free from those horrible Shadow Seekers at any rate That Shadow Sucker is really an amazing device. You can hear them inside that tube where they are held captive by the Light Spirit dust. Simply amazing!

What was I doing? Oh, that was just a little Lightning Circle protective magic… My Soul Rider power is… As you probably already know… Mostly from the Lightning Circle. But more on that later. Now we need to figure out to close off these cracks before they cause more damage or release more awful Shadow Seekers. The only one who can hep us with that would be Fripp… He should be able to tell us what we need to know.

You need to ride up to Fripp and ask for his advice. If there is anyone who can help us, it is him. I’ll stay here and keep an eye on the situation and do my best to prevent the cracks from releasing any more Shadow Seekers.

Please hurry!

Objectives: Speak with Fripp in the Secret Stonering and ask for guidance.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride to Valedale and follow the spiral path above Elizabeth’s house to get to the Secret Stonering. Speak with Fripp there.

fripp

Welcome back to my time, Rita!

Oh, memories.. Pandoric cracks? By all the mild worlds. It has really shaken loose properly this time.

We did really hope that the crack you closed in Goldenhills Valley was a one-time occurrence, but ack! It seems it was only the starting shot of something much worse. It seems this is the result of Dark Core’s malicious activities. They have clearly upset the already delicate balance between Pandoria and our known reality.

The so called Garnok-Effect has begun. May Aideen be with us…

Quest completed

______________

Lightning Circle

fripp

The Garnok-Effect needs to be slowed down! Otherwise we will not be able to stop it. But you can help us with the immediate threat and stall the Garnok-Effect.

To close off the Pandoric cracks in Silverglade Village, you will need to use the magical powers of the Lightning Circle. Are you ready to learn about the Lightning Circle.

Objectives: Listen to Fripp speak about the Lightning Circle.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Fripp will tell you more about this new faction.

fripp

Listen to me, Rita.

The Lightning protects against sickness, witchcraft, and malevolent magic. Through harvesting the power of the Lightning you can defend yourself against magic used against you. For a Soul Rider, the Lightning power has two main categories, a defensive kind used to ward off evil magic and a secondly strong offensive attack called “Soul Strike.” The Lightning Circle is the traditional path of a warrior. With strong power comes great responsibility. The Lightning Circle demands great wisdom and forethought from its members.

The druids know that you are very unique in that you have mastered powers from all four circles, even if you are not fully aware of them yet. Now I will teach you how to use the power of the Lightning Circle to close the Pandoric cracks to save Silverglade Village.

As you train with the powers of the Lightning Circle, you will become more effective and experienced with using those powers.

Quest completed

______________

An Exercise in Lightning Circle Magic

fripp

The exercise you will perform is similar to what you will need to do to close the cracks in Silverglade Village. A kind of simulation, if you like.

I’m going to open a weakened version of a crack between our reality and Pandoria. This is not something that should be done lightly. This is what you will need to do:

Get off your horse.

Stand close to the pink glow and neutralize the magical defenses of the crack using the Shadow Sucker. That machine is perfect for this job.

After neutralizing the defenses, watch for blue star shaped sparks. They can be hard to see in the pink glow… So watch carefully. Use your inner Lightning Circle powers to absorb the blue star sparks.

Every time you succeed in absorbing a blue start spark, the crack loses some of its power. When it runs out of power, the crack will close and the portal will disappear. If you fail to absorb enough sparks the defenses of the crack will recharge, and when it regains full power, you might never be able to close it again…

Objectives: Use the Shadow Sucker on the Pandoric portal. Absorb the blue star sparks until the crack energy is depleted and the portal closes.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 50 with The Lightning Circle

Dismount your horse and approach the Pandoric rift. Use the Shadow Sucker on the rift and you will automatically open the portal to be able to absorb the sparks. Click on the stars quickly before they dissolve. If you do not click on them in time, they will add even more power to the rift. If the bar fills up, you will have to start over again with the Shadow Sucker. Continue to work the portal until the bar empties and the rift closes.

Speak with Fripp when you have closed the rift.

fripp

Look at that! You really can harness the power of the Lightning Circle! You really are an extraordinary talent. You never disappoint us. Elizabeth was really right about you.

The more you train in the powers of the Lightning Circle, the easier it will be easier for you to succeed in closing the cracks between our worlds.

Quest completed

______________

Discussion with Avalon

fripp

So that the Shadow Sucker can manage to draw off the defensive magic of the Pandoric portals, Avalon will need to help you strengthen the power of the Shadow Sucker. He should be able to do this by using the magic of the Shadow Seekers that you already sucked up into the machine in Silverglade.

Go off to Avalon in Valedale Village and tell him everything so that he can help you.

Objectives: Speak with Avalon in Valedale Village and ask him to increase the power of the Shadow Sucker.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Exit the Secret Stonering by the swirling portal off to the side. When you are back in Valedale, ride to Avalon’s cottage and speak to him there.

faceless_druid

Very interesting… Very interesting… Pandoric cracks… This is not good at all. Didn’t I say this wasn’t good at all?

But you have a plan! I will help you by improving the Shadow Sucker.

Quest completed

______________

Save Silverglade

faceless_druid

Using the strength of the captured Shadow Seekers, I have strengthened that device so you should be able to use it to close down all the cracks in Silverglade, and maybe more. If you use it a lot, you might have to come back to me to empty and neutralize the Shadow Sucker again.

Now ride off to Silverglade Village and close down all those cracks with your new Lightning Circle powers!

Don’t forget! First weaken the crack’s defenses with the Shadow Sucker, then neutralize the blue remains with your abilities until you have absorbed all the energy which will force it to close. Understand?

Good luck!

Objectives: Ride to Silverglade Village. Weaken the defensive magic of the portals with the Shadow Sucker. Close them with the help of the magic of the Lightning Circle.

Rewards: 260 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

When you get to Silverglade Village, close each of the rifts using the same process you used with Fripp.

“Silverglade Village is saved this time! Without you and Alex working together, this could have had a horrible ending. This otherwise quiet town has now been made well aware that a strange power threatens them, and perhaps even the entire population of the island is threatened.

But there are still so many questions. Is this only the beginning of Garnok’s awakening? Are you and the Keepers of Aideen going to be able to protect the island from Garnok and the evil activities of Dark Core in the future? Whatever is happening is Jorvik, you are definitely going to play a central part in our history.

Today you have proved again that you are a true hero and the fate of Jorvik is in your hands.”

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

council_man

That was epic. Thank you Rita! You really performed a miracle today! You saved us from what might have become the end of the world. Do you understand what an amazing hero you really are?

Quest completed

This is Just the Beginning of the End…

alex

What you did here today was very important. We will remember this for a long time. But the danger is not over yet. I am afraid that this is only the beginning. The beginning of something very distressing indeed. We are almost drained of power after this serious episode and I have just received word that we have more miracles to accomplish.

Are you ready?

Objectives: Listen to the new instructions from Alex.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you more about what is happening.

alex

Dark Core has really increased the Garnok-Effect. Their activities seem to have acted as a catalyst that has increased the chaotic power of Garnok. This is very important. I have already seen indications that more cracks have appeared in other places around Silverglade.

They have discovered another large crack at the Winery and another out on Everwind Field. I think we can almost see the pink light shining to the sky from here.

Go and investigate the new cracks and close them if you can. I will clean up the last ones here in the village and restore order. I’ll follow you later if you need any help.

Quest completed

Close the two rifts, then report to Alex in Silverglade Village.

Pandoric Activity on Everwind Field

self

The dangerous crack shines with the energy of Pandoric magic that seeps out into our reality while at the same time, bit by bit, it sucks in our reality to another magical world, quite like a flowing drain.

Use the Shadow Sucker to weaken the crack and then close it with the power of the Lightning Circle.

Objectives: Use the Shadow Sucker on the crack. Use your abilities to close the crack. Report back to Alex when you are done.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Close the rift then speak with Alex in Silverglade Village.

alex

This cannot be allowed to continue, otherwise Pandoria will quickly absorb out world. I tremble at the thought of what will happen next.

A Crack by the Winery

The Pandorian crack shines with a hateful pink light! It needs to be closed immediately before it can do more damage. Use the Shadow Sucker to weaken the crack then close it with the powers of the Lightning Circle.

Objectives: Use the Shadow Sucker on the crack. Use your abilities to close the crack. Report back to Alex when you are done.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Close the rift then speak with Alex in Silverglade Village.

In the Service of the Keepers of Aideen

alex

I don’t know what Mr Sands and his minions have been up to this time, but it is clear that Garnok is much more active than he has ever been before. Now we need to help in keeping watch after new cracks. They can come at any time, and believe me, there are going to be more. I’ll be helping to close the ones that I can.

Are you ready to help me protect Jorvik from the Pandoric Garnok threat?

Even if it is going to take us to the end of time and possibly beyond it?

Objectives: Accept Alex’s offer to help protect Jorvik. Keep your eyes open for new cracks. Every day.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Closing the rifts has now become a daily quest. They will all follow the same process to close. Click on the crack when you approach it to start the opening quest dialogue. Then you can use the Shadow Sucker on it and enter the portal. When you have closed the crack, visit Avalon in Valedale to finish the quests. Each crack you close will give you reputation with the Lightning Circle faction, which will be needed in the future.

alex

There, Rita. We have an important assignment. As Keepers of Aideen, it is our duty to protect Jorvik from going under and vanishing into the Pandorian pink fog.

From now on we need to keep watch. Every day we need to be prepared.

The easiest thing to do is to ride up the mountain and look out over the lands, I think. The pink glow can be seen from a long way away. In the evening, at night, and the early morning will be the best times to see them. Be well informed. Other people can find the cracks and let you know where they might show up.

May the light of Aideen shine over us all in these troubled, pink-glowing times…

Quest completed

Return to Alex when you are Admired by the Lightning Circle.

______________

An End to the Pink…

alex

Well done, Rita! We have managed to calm the wrath of Garnok a little bit. Thanks to your enormous effort, hopefully there will be no more cracks for a good while into the future. The Pandorian imbalance is now smaller after we have fought so valiantly against it.

Finally it is time for a little rest, but the danger is far from over right now. Any moment now Dark Core could do something malicious again to disturb the imbalance again, if they haven’t already…

Objective: Speak with Alex.

Rewards: 250 Jorvik Shillings, 120 XP

Reputation: 50 with the Lightning Circle

-wipes forehead- Whew! Glad that’s over!

alex

You are now a full member of the Lightning Circle, very well done, Rita. There are not many people that make it this far, Rita, you need to know that. You really are something special! Congratulations and welcome to the Lightning Circle!

Hello Rita. What do we have here? Hello there little guy. Ouch! He scratched my finger! You seem a little wild… Probably a good thing for a little guy who is supposed to catch rats.

Good day Rita!

NO RAMBO! DON’T EAT THE T-SHIRT!!

Ok. We’ll see you again soon!

Quest completed

Now let’s go see Conrad about the finished grill for the tourists.

A Tailor-Made Grill

conrad_marsdeen

So! Here is a first-rate iron grill perfect for the barbecue. I hope you will have many pleasant times by the fire. What? Forest fire? Oh, my lord, those tourists. I have to say… I hope they have learned an important lesson.

Objectives: Ride back with the grill to the tourists in Hollow Woods.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Conrad does not approve…

Take the grill up to the tourists.

gunther

What a nice grill! We will have plenty of  wonderful barbecues on it when it is finished!

First we need to gather material to build the rest of the grill.

Quest completed

______________

Wood and Stones

gunther

I saw an abandoned summer house a short way from here, maybe we can find some loose stones there? And wood, there are logs laying around in the forest.

Objectives: Look for stones at the abandoned summer house and for logs in Hollow Woods.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

All of the materials are marked on your map. When you have collected them all, return to Gunther.

gunther

Such good luck that you have a strong and noble horse! This will be perfect for building a fireplace.

Quest completed

______________

To Build a Fireplace

gunther

You found excellent stones and logs in the perfect size. Now we get to build the fireplace! The logs can be used as benches and the stones as a foundation for the barbecue. And to crown our fireplace, the grill!

Objectives: Place the stone, logs and grill.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Dismount your horse, and place the components a little way off the trail.

When you have built the fireplace, return to Gunther.

gunther

What a splendid fireplace, perfect for cooking outdoors! Now the fire can’t spread to the forest. In hindsight I can understand how irresponsible we were when we tried to grill on the ground.

Quest completed

______________

A New Fireplace

gunther

This turned out better than I thought it would. What a difference it makes to get to sit on benches instead of the ground. We should have listened to Gretchen, she is such a clever girl. I wonder from who she gets that from? Haha!

Objectives: Talk to Gunther.

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Yes, Gunther, you are a stupid, stupid man.

gunther

I have nothing to give you as thanks, but I hope that in the future you will get to enjoy having fires here with your friends and maybe even build some more fireplaces. Helga and I have learned a valuable lesson!

These quests cover several days, but I am putting them all together on one post.

Day 15

Jame’s Treasure Hunt

james

Heya Rita! I was surfing J-Bay the other day and made a great deal. A real treasure map! Well… at least one out of the four pieces of one. If I could only get a hold of the other three parts then I could find the treasure. I’m sure it is amazing! There were two parts up for sale but I only managed to buy one of them. Someone called “Butler_o1” bought the other one… the only thing I know about him is that he also lives on Jorvik.

If you help me find the other parts of the map I’ll split the treasure with you. What do you say? If you are up for it you should start with figuring out who “Butler_01” is and try to get his part of the map.

Objectives: Find the person who calls themself “Butler_01” on the internet. They live somewhere on Jorvik. The name must be a clue as to who they really are.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

The only butler we know is Godfrey. Let’s go talk to him about this.

godfrey

Uh, “Butler_01”? Yes, that is me. How did you know?

Quest completed

______________

A Digital Library

godfrey

I see Rita, you can absolutely have part of the map but then I want my share of the treasure. We have plans to scan in all the books in the library to make them available for everyone in the world to enjoy. Unfortunately we haven’t had the money to get it done… so this treasure would really give us exactly what we need.

Take my piece of the map and ride over to James. Let him know that I want to share of the treasure as part of the deal.

Objectives: Ride back to James and tell him what the Butler said.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Take the map back to James in Fort Pinta

james

Oh come on Rita… did you promise to give away a share of the treasure to the butler? Don’t you know how to negotiate? This is how it is done. You made the deal with the butler so you can split your share with him!

Quest completed

James is getting a little greedy now. These quests really make me not like him….

The Other Part of the Map

james

I’ve been surfing on Jorvikipedia while you were gone Rita. The map belonged to the famous American treasure hunter Mississippi Jones. He died a long time ago, but he was an adventurer who came to Jorvik a generation ago. His heirs couldn’t decide on how to split the treasure so they tore the map in four pieces and kept one piece each. I was lucky to find a lead on his daughter, California Jones. Her grave is somewhere nearby, but I’m not sure exactly where… it only says she was buried with a view of Fort Pinta… the town she loved so much.

Objectives: Find the grave of California Jones. It should be somewhere with a great view of Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The only graveyard close to Fort Pinta is in Doyle’s Abbey, though it isn’t much of a view for all the bushes.

The grave is in the northeastern corner of the Abbey.

self

“This must be the grave of California Jones…”

Quest complete

______________

Where Did the Bouquet of Flowers Come From?

self

“A bouquet of dandelions. Don’t I know someone who likes dandelions? Maybe that person can help me find the next piece of the map. I guess I should bring the bouquet of dandelions.”

Objectives: Someone has placed a bouquet of dandelions on the grave, find the person who put it there.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Mrs Holdsworth is the master of dandelions and fixing sick cows. Go speak with her in Moorland.

mrs_holdsworth

Heya Rita! Those are some nice dandelions! Yes, California Jones was my grandmother. She loved dandelions so I put a bouquet of them on her grave every year. An old part of a map? I think I might have it in a box somewhere.

Quest completed

______________

Think of the Poor Little Foals

mrs_holdsworth

Sure, you can have my part of the map. But of course you need to share the treasure you find with me. My share will be given to the Jorvik Home for Orphan Foals. All those poor little foals with no mothers… sniff…

Here is my part of the map. Make sure James knows about the deal!

Objectives: Ride back to James and tell him what Mrs Holdsworth said.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Tell James about the deal and the next piece of the map, though he won’t be happy about it.

james

What are you thinking Rita? Now Mrs Holdsworth is in on the treasure too? That is also coming out of your share! If you keep doing this there won’t be anything left for you at all!

Quest completed

Return to James tomorrow.

______________

Day 16

A Final Piece of the Map

james

I’ve been doing a bit more research on Jorvikipedia and trying to find out more about the last piece of the map. I’m pretty sure it is in Silverglade Village. Mississippi’s son Washington left everything he had to the people of Jorvik. All his possessions were taken care of by the council in Silverglade.

Objectives: Speak with the Councilman in Silverglade Village and ask about the will of Washington Jones.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The Councilman is near town hall in the center of town. Speak to him about the last part of the map.

council_man

Ah yes… Washington Jones left everything he had to us. An old piece of a map? That must be stored in the archives.

Quest completed

______________

Archived Inheritance

council_man

The archives aren’t in Silverglade Village anymore. Which ironically is mostly because of Washington Jones. He was an avid collector of just about everything. When we went to archive his collection it filled up the entire basement of the city hall. It really wasn’t practical in the long run so everything was moved to Firgrove. Ride over there and ask my colleague there, I’m sure he will know all about it.

Objectives: Speak with the Councilman in Firgrove about the collection of Washington Jones.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride to Firgrove, and speak with Mr Franklin. He can be found at the town hall across from the stables.

mr_franklin

Good day Rita. Washington Jones collection? Yes it was stored here. But it isn’t here anymore.

Quest completed

______________

Deep in the Archives

mr_franklin

Washington Jones collection was so big we were forced to hire out a place in an old mine around here. There was a lot of unused space in that old mine. It is shut down now and there was a big spring so unfortunately I’m not sure what has happened to the collection. If you are lucky the old piece of the map might still be there. You should ride over there and have a look. Good luck!

Objectives: Find the piece of the map by the old mine outside Firgrove and ride back to the Councilman in Firgrove.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Funny how no one is really concerned precious artifacts could possibly have been destroyed in the flood.

The mine is highlighted in orange on your map, so it should be easy to find. It is down behind the sandpit, and can be seen from the road. Go to the mine and look for a bunch of wooden boxes laying on the ground. Search all of them, then return to Mr Franklin.

mr_franklin

Look at that. There we have the old piece of the map.

Quest completed

______________

Take the Last Piece of the Map to Fort Pinta

mr_franklin

That piece of the map belongs to all the people of Jorvik so I can’t just give it to you. If you want this piece then you will have to share the treasure with the people of Jorvik. We need every shilling we can get to build new roads and new stalls.

Objectives: Ride back to James and tell him what has happened.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Speak with James in Fort Pinta. Mr Greedypants surely won’t be happy though.

james

Bah… not again! That is coming out of your share again Rita. You’ll never be a good businessman…

Quest completed

Return to James tomorrow.

______________

Day 17

A Whole Map

james

Now I’ve put together the map but I still don’t understand it… Here is the map Rita, you can give finding the treasure a try. I need to take care of my customers that are here and want to spend money in Fort Pinta. I don’t have more time for looking for treasure now. Come back when you have found the treasure.

Chip!

Objectives: Follow the map to Mississippi Jones’ treasure.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

And this lazy bum wants HALF the treasure. Yet he hasn’t done squat!

mj_map

The map shows the profile view of the Fort Pinta bridge, with the X marking right next to the wall. Ride towards the bridge, and you’ll see the clue across from the stable.

mj_first_clue

self

“Hmm… this might be something. A loose stone in the wall.”

Quest completed

______________

The First Clue

writing

“HA! Did you really think it would be that easy? If you want the treasure of Mississippi Jones you are going to have to work for it! It isn’t easy, but I can’t have just any idiot finding my treasure.

The map is only the first clue. If you want to find the next clue you will need to make your way to Doyle’s Chapel. Ride there but don’t leave the path a bird would take between here and there.

-Mississippi Jones”

Objectives: Follow the clue’s directions.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The clue references the saying “as the crow flies” which means to travel in a straight line. You don’t need to go to Doyle’s Chapel. The next clue is along that line towards the chapel though.

mj_second_clue

The next clue can be found on a little stone in the sand, off the road, between Fort Pinta and Doyle’s Chapel.

writing

“You have passed my first test. But now it will only get harder.

-Mississippi Jones”

Objectives: Follow the clue’s directions.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The next clue is by the southern bridge crossing the Silversong River. You’ll have to go back up on the road to get to it as you cannot follow the beach all the way there.

mj_fourth_clue

The next clue is on the east edge of the river, down on the south side of the bridge. It is a little log sticking out of the sand.

writing

“Now it is beginning to get exciting! You haven’t given up have you?

-Mississippi Jones”

Quest completed

-Mississippi Jones”

Objectives: Follow the clue’s directions.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

mj_sixth_clue

If you ride the U shaped road back towards Fort Pinta you’ll find the next clue at the intersection. It is on the corner of the stone fence.

mj_seventh_clue

writing

“The final clue is coming up. Don’t give up.

-Mississippi Jones”

Quest completed

______________

The Seventh Clue

writing

“You are now almost there. Look again towards the castle. In front of it you see the druids’ monument. At the foot of the monument you will find the next test.

-Mississippi Jones”

Objectives: Follow the clue’s directions.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

mj_old_druid_circle

The old druid circle is up on the hill between where you are and the castle. Go to the large stone in the middle for the next quest.

self

“There is no note here with a new clue. But this has to be the place that Mississippi Jones meant. That rock looks a little strange, I wonder what the runes mean…”

Quest completed

______________

The Druids Know

self

“These runes seem really old, who can help me read them? Elizabeth probably knows what they mean. I should ride to Valedale and speak with her right away.”

Objectives: Ride over and speak with Elizabeth.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Your treasure hunt is only partway done. Ask Elizabeth for help with the runes.

elizabeth_sunbeam

The old runestone? Yes I know that one. But what the runes mean I’ve never really thought about. I’ll go over there later and have a look. Why don’t you come back tomorrow and I’ll tell you what they mean.

Quest completed

Return to Elizabeth tomorrow.

______________

Day 18

The First Stone

elizabeth_sunbeam

Now I’ve been to look at the runestone you asked me about. Fascinating really Rita. The runes tell the story of an ancient ritual that will open the mountain… whatever that means. Mississippi Jones must have figured out the ritual and hidden his treasure there. The good news is we druids learn that ritual in pre-school so I know exactly how to open it.

To open the mountain you’ll need to collect four different stones. They will be used in the ritual later. But first we need to find the stones. The first stone is red volcanic rock and you’ll find it in the mountain at the end of Everwind Fields. You need to find a way deep into the mountain to get that stone. I’m not sure how but I am sure you will figure out a way to do it. Maybe you can ask someone there to help you?

Objectives: Ride to the north part of Everwind Fields, once you are there try to find a way in to the heart of the mountain to get some red volcanic rock. Maybe you can ask someone there to help you.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

The Crew Lead on the construction site will know how to help you. Speak with him.

crew_lead

Red volcanic rock?

Quest completed

______________

Red Stones in Large Quantities

crew_lead

Red volcanic rock? I have millions of red volcanic rocks, take your pick. When we blasted out the tunnel we filled truck after truck with them. They are behind the big cliff there.

Objectives: Choose a red volcanic rock and ride back to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

To get to the rocks, go out of the construction site, and go past the hill that Mr Bucket was standing on, where one tower of the gondola lift is anchored. Go around the other side of this hill and head back in the direction of the construction site. The red rocks are on the ground. Take one of them and return to Elizabeth in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Good Rita, that volcanic rock will be perfect.

Quest completed

______________

Earth Stone

elizabeth_sunbeam

The next rock you need to find is a kind of Earth Stone. You can usually find this kind of stone in freshly dug ground. Around the Winery there should be lots of them… it shouldn’t be hard to get one. Speak with someone at the winery.

Objectives: Ride over and speak with someone at the winery about where you can find an earth stone.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Judy is up with all the happenings around the winery. She should know where the earth stones are.

judy

Earth Stone? We have more than we want all over the winery. The Baroness thinks they are ugly so we have cleared away all that we could find.

Quest completed

______________

At the End of the Vine

judy

Where can you find an earth stone? Hrmmm… We’ve thrown away all we could find. Maybe if you look at the edge of the fields around the winery. Good luck!

Objectives: Look around the edge of the winery fields for an earth stone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

They are scattered through most of the outer fields of the winery. The easiest one to get to is in the back of the winery. Cross the little bridge, and they are in the lower tier field. It is the same field that you check the soil instruments for Carney.

Return to Elizabeth when you have found one.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Have they thrown away all the earth stones? Lucky there was at least one left. Well done!

Quest completed

______________

Moss Stone

elizabeth_sunbeam

The Moss Stone you need is rare but we used to be able to find them by the Silversong River beach. Look there. It might take a while but I’m sure you will find one.

Objectives: Look around the Silversong River beach for a Moss Stone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

I’m sure they can be found in other places along the beach, but the one I found was on the little bit of beach where the land juts into the river, south of the southern most bridge, on the Firgrove side of the river.

Return to Elizabeth when you have found one.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Was it had to find a moss stone? Well done!

Quest completed

______________

Star Stone

elizabeth_sunbeam

Star Stones can be found high up in the mountains around here. It is hard to ride up there… but wait! I have an idea! Look around the rocky outcrops by the road on the way to Valedale lake. When they were building the road I’m sure they knocked down some Star Stones and they should still be there.

Objectives: Look along the road to Valedale lake for a Star Stone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Take the Valedale Lake road, and after the last switchback, just before you get to the top, there’s grass of to the left of the road, that you can ride on. You have to go through some bushes (take it slow so you don’t fall off the cliff, oops!) and there are some Star Stones on the ground there.

Return to Elizabeth when you have found one.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Well done! I wasn’t sure you would be able to find a Star Stone. But we can always count on you Rita!

Quest completed

______________

Runestone Secret

elizabeth_sunbeam

Now that you have all the different stones it is time to solve the riddle of the Runestone. I’m sure you understand by now that this is a puzzle. I’ not going to explain how it is done… look at this as a test. Instead I’m going to tell you the meaning of the runes and see if you can figure it out for yourself.

So, now you will be able to read what is written on the runestones. Ride over there now and good luck!

Objectives: Ride over to the druid stone and solve the puzzle with the stones.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 40 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to the runestone so that you can begin the puzzle.

self

“You are back at the runestone. Now we’ll see what it says…”

Quest completed

______________

Earth Colors

self

“Place the stones in order from inside to out after color, from the planet’s core and outwards.”

Objectives: Solve the puzzle with the druid stones.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 40 with Keepers of Aideen

Place the stones in order from the planet’s core and outwards (volcanic, earth, moss, star), starting with the innermost stone on the pedestal closest to the central runestone. They must be placed in that exact order on the correct pedestal. If you have trouble finding which pedestal is which, click on it, and it will tell you which stone to place on it.

self

“The stones are gone!”

Quest completed

______________

Return to Fort Pinta

self

“Whoa! Where the stone was… now there is a chest instead! Inside it you find  bunch of silver coins, and old statue, and a gorgeous hat. It is time to return to Fort Pinta and tell James what you found.”

Objectives: Ride back to James in Fort Pinta and show him the treasure.

Rewards: 1 Jorvik Shilling, 10 XP

Time to show our greedy little friend what we found.

james

Hahaha Rita! You did it! Now we can have a look. A bunch of silver coins… an ugly statue… an old moldy hat… I can trust you and you can absolutely trust me! You get the ugly statue and hat and I’ll take the silver coins. That seems more than fair, you get two things and I only get one. I know, you don’t need to say anything, I am too generous for my own good sometimes.

Have a great day! See you later.

Quest completed

______________

Share the Treasure

james

Are you still here? I’ve got a bunch of important things to do right now… but maybe you should ride over to the councilman in Firgrove and share your share of the treasure with him… as we agreed before. Here, take a silver coin as a souvenir. You don’t need to thank me.

See you!

Objectives: Ride over to the councilman in Firgrove and tell him about the disappointing end to the treasure hunt.

Rewards: 500 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP, Mississippi Jones’ Hat

This is why I hate you James, sniveling little whelp…

Show Mr Franklin in Firgrove what you have found.

mr_franklin

So you found the treasure? Fantastic! What’s that? James took all the silver coins? Let’s see the coin you have. Hmmm… hehe. That is a ten-pence, worth about half a shilling. I doubt that James has even earned back what he paid for his piece of the map on those. But you got an amazing adventure, am I right?

Wait a minute… that statue… let me have a closer look at it.Wow! You know what you have found?!

An ancient statue made by the old horse tribes here on Jorvik. This is a priceless cultural artifact! This belongs to all the people of Jorvik so it needs to be displayed so everyone can see it. As an archaeological find I need to take this from you right now… but you should get your reward for finding it. I will see that the Butler and Mrs Holdsworth get their share of the reward but you definitely deserve your share. You have done Jorvik a great service Rita. Thank you! You should keep that fantastic hat. It looks great on you, I have to say.

Quest completed

Good to know James didn’t make his money back, but I still don’t like him…

The Final Identification

alex

Listen, when you go to Silverglade Village, whatever you do, don’t get too close to this man. He’s dangerous, ok? I don’t mean to sound like your mom or anything, but I can’t let anything happen to you; we need you in this, Rita.

Take these binoculars, they’re pretty good. Stay at the other end of the square and watch the post office through them. There is a small set of coffee tables there, so take a seat. You may have to wait there for some time before Mr Sandman appears, I suppose. Let’s not hope it will be for too long.

Objectives: Get to the coffee table at Silverglade Village square and watch the post office through the binoculars.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP, Construction Pants

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

The coffee tables are behind the Star shop right inside the north entrance to the village.

quest-watching_mr_sandman

Return to Alex once you’ve done your scouting.

alex

So Mr Sands and Mr Sandman is the same person? That explains it. Now we know what kind of tragedy Justin is involved in; he’s not only gone to visit his grandfather, but is probably being held prisoner where ever the Dark Core bring their victims to be brainwashed into joining their sorry pack. And now we know why the Baroness has been acting so strange, as well; she has in fact been married to Mr Sands himself, the slimiest slug in all of Jorvik! I can see why she’s keeping that to herself.

While you were down in the village both Godfrey and the baroness arrived. Let’s see what the Baroness has to say about all this.

Objectives: Ask the Baroness what she has to say.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Interrogation time! I’ll play Good Cop, you be Bad Cop….

The Baroness and Godfrey are now standing in front of the Manor

baroness

Oh, dear. This is so embarrassing. I’ll explain everything, of course I will. The way I’ve been behaving, it’s… It simply has been nowhere near the customary dignity of a grown woman. I can only blame it on the constant stress I’ve been under lately, what with the G.E.D. threatening to destroy this island and the vineyard ruined both by them and the merciless winter. I’m too old for all this – that must be it. It makes me act like a wicked old hag. Let me tell you girls what happened.

Quest completed

______________

The Explanation

baroness

A day with really bad weather, I freed Linda from her work around the stables and had her come to the castle to clean up in the attic. Well that was a mistake. Apparently I had an old wedding photo lying around; one of me and the man that used to be my husband, Mr… Sand… man. You’ll have to excuse me, but I just can’t say his current name, I just can’t. Anyway, so the girl found this picture and recognized my husband as Mr… well, as that man. Can you believe the dread I felt at that moment? I panicked – that knowledge could absolutely not leave the castle! It would destroy this family’s reputation, built-up during hundreds of years! I had Godfrey lock Linda in the castle so she wouldn’t tell anyone. And what’s more, this horrifying man Mr… Sands – there I said it – doesn’t seem to have aged a day since I last saw him, 45 years ago!

A complete and utter scandal, that’s what this is. Let me tell you girls more… Perhaps we could work something out, together?

Objectives: The Baroness has something more to say.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Well, looks like we won’t have to beat it out of her. This time…

baroness

I’m so ashamed, girls, I really am. And yet there’s something that makes me fret when I think of this girl Sabine. She’s had some sort of power over me, I believe. If there was such a thing as darkening of another’s mind, I would say she had used it on me. My head has been feeling different… lighter, since she went away.

Quest completed

Go tell Alex what you have just learned from the Baroness.

A Slight Case of Compromise

alex

You’re right, Rita, the Baroness is a powerful ally. It’s her family that has the greatest influence over Jorvik and we could need her help in all the problems that seem to be waiting around the corner. She should be especially useful in our search for Justin, who we now know to be her grandson. In exchange for her help, we’ll keep quiet about her secrets.

Objectives: Ask the baroness if you have an agreement.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Return to the Baroness and speak with her about your agreement.

baroness

Oh girls, I will do anything I can to help you from now on. And I’m still rather powerful, that I’ll tell you.

Quest completed

______________

Ask the Butler for the Key

baroness

You should let your friend out of the castle. Godfrey has the key.

Objectives: Ask the butler if he can give you the key to the castle so you can free Linda.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Okay, Godfrey, your turn…

godfrey

Certainly miss, I am sure I have the key somewhere here. In this pocket… No. This maybe… hm.

Quest completed

______________

Free Linda

godfrey

There was the key! I always hide it in my shoe but just forgot it this time. Here you are. You and Alex can ride down to the castle and lock up the castle door and let your dear friend out.

Objectives: Ride down to the castle and open the castle door with the key to the castle.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ugh, it smells like feet…

Ride with Alex to the castle gate.

Once you’ve unlocked the gate, walk towards it and it will open. You will find Linda inside.

linda

Oh, bright light in my eyes. What?! I am free?

Quest completed

______________

A Happy Linda

linda

I… I’m out! Finally! And it’s all thanks to you, guys! Did you find the book pages? So what’s happening here, if I may ask? The baroness apologized, I see… Well, I haven’t exactly had a blast in the tower… But at least I’ve had the time to read a lot of books. So, are you a friend of Alex? I see, thank you so much for letting me out. Now maybe you could tell me what’s happened while I was in there? I want to know EVERYTHING.

Objectives: Update Linda on what has happened while she was in the tower.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Give Linda all of the juicy details.

linda

Whew, there seems to be a lot of weirdness going on! The Dark Core are active in Jorvik again with Mr Sands as their leader, the druids want to summon us girls once again, Justin Moorland is gone… Dark clouds are hovering over this island. It seems like the adventure has only just begun.

Quest completed

______________

The End is the New Beginning

alex

So, a lot of things are indeed happening here. I really appreciate your being able to help me in this, Rita, you have been fantastic. Next thing I’ve got to do is finding two other girls called Anne and Lisa. They make a little team together with Linda and me, you see, and we have to continue working for the Keepers of Aideen in favor of this precious island. Until I find them I, Linda, Elizabeth and the baroness will keep on looking for Justin. I would very much like it if you joined us, Rita. Will you please join us?

Objectives: Tell Alex that you want to keep on helping her.

Rewards: 250 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP

Reputation: 125 with Keepers of Aideen

Well, you can’t say no!

alex

I’m so happy you said yes! Welcome to our little group. Before we continue the search for Justin and my other friends, Elizabeth wants you to practice your riding skills. You need to work seriously: get the best equipment there is, work to increase your reputation, race the tracks here in Silverglade in order to get as good results as you can possibly get.

I’ll find you when it’s time to continue this adventure. We will accomplish great things together, Rita, that I’m sure of. Because, you know, this is definitely not the end. I will contact you when you are ready for new adventures.

quest-castle_cut_scene

The island of Jorvik, otherwise brimming with life and joy, now seems shadowed by a cloud of neverending problems.

The citizens and their beloved horses have already experienced a long and harsh winter during which the feeling of something dark reining over them grew ore and more intense.

What if that winter was only the beginning of a dark era?

Many questions remain unanswered. Will the G.E.D. succeed in fully exploiting Jorvik’s unique nature? What will happen when their drills reach the core of the island?

Does anybody really know what lies inside that core?

The druids on the island, the Keepers of Aideen, have started summoning their four riders to battle the evil organization Dark Core. An organization that has seemingly lured the innocent Justin Moorland to join them in their clandestine plans.

What is your role in all of this? It’s unknown, but it appears to be of importance. What you know is that Alex and Elizabeth want you to work hard on your riding skills, earn a good reputation and reach the top of the high score list. All to reach the goal of being the best rider you can be: a rider ready to meet whatever may come her way.

And so it begins…

Let’s see if the Baroness has made any progress with the serial numbers.

The Oil Drill Scandal

baroness

Dear Rita. I might actually rescue something of my poor grape harvest… I just got a very interesting message from my son Aaron at the Jorvik Council. Regarding to the Oil Drill Establishment, the serial numbers you found at Mr Kembell’s drills are listed as stolen goods!

I want you to ride to Mr Kembell and tell him that I, the Baroness of Silverglade, will kick his butt and destroy all his business worldwide if he immediately doesn’t stop drilling at the Everwind fields.

Objectives: Talk to Mr Kembell.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 250 XP

This is some serious business when butts are on the line…

Go see Mr Kembell out at the Everwind oil field.

mr_kembell

Quest completed

______________

Temporary Drill-Break

mr_kembell

Ok, you evil little child… You win again but just for now. I know there must be a mistake with the serials but I can’t let the baroness destroy my reputation. Tell her I will stop drilling for now until I have sorted things out.

You really are a pain… My reputation may be ruined by the immature acts of a stupid child. No one should fool me, but you did it twice!

Objectives: Talk to the Baroness.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 250 XP

And the prize for Jorvik’s biggest drama queen goes to….

Ahhh Mr Kembell. Always has enough melodrama to count for the rest of us.

Return to the Manor and tell the Baroness the good news.

baroness

He was mad? Haha, I can imagine that. I wish I could have seen his face. I can hear the drilling has stopped. Well done girl, you have saved me a lot of trouble and maybe saved me a lot of money.

Quest completed

With that business completed, let’s go see what Alex has to say about what we’ve found in the old book.

Looking for Clues

alex

Look, before we go to Firgrove to do any more research on this John Sandman, we should try to find out where Linda has gone. Maybe we can find some clues if we search the area.

Objectives: Search the environment for clues on Linda’s whereabouts.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

There are three clues to find, all located behind the stable; Linda’s glasses, cellphone, and a page from her book.

alex

This is so strange… Exactly; if Linda would have left willingly she hardly would have left her glasses and mobile phone behind. And what do you have there…? A book page? Oh, look – it’s from Peter Pan… Wait – that’s Linda’s favorite book!

Quest completed

______________

The Lead in the Phone

alex

I got the phone turned on. Let’s check the text messages… Ok, the latest one says: “Meet me behind the stable tonight at 7 pm and I will tell you the truth. Come alone.” Wasn’t it behind the stable you found Linda’s belongings?

There’s no name of the sender, but we could try calling this number and see who picks up. Will you do it? The phone is on the table next to you.

Objectives: Call the telephone number to see who it belongs to. The hone is on the table next to Alex.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

The phone is on the picnic table next to the sample comparing machine.

phone

“Yes, this is Godfrey the butler speaking. Who am I talking to? Hello…? Hello?”

Quest completed

______________

Blaming the Butler

alex

Was that Godfrey?! Well, he obviously has something to do with this. Freaky… We should go talk to him; maybe this is a misunderstanding. I sure hope it is.

Objectives: Find Godfrey the butler and ask him about the text message.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

Hurry to the butler!

godfrey

Miss. What is it? I’m in a big hurry, if you’ll please excuse me. I need to… What? You called me from Linda’s phone? Must be a misunderstanding… Huh. I really can’t stay and chat, you see. I most certainly can’t. Goodbye, miss.

Quest completed

______________

Page Trail

alex

He left without answering your questions. This is getting stranger and stranger.

You think the items and the book page Linda dropped can be the first part of a trial? Hey, that may be it! You’re clever, Rita! Maybe the trail will lead us to Linda? You should follow it.

Objectives: Follow the trail of book pages.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

The trail starts behind the stable where you found the first book page.

When you’ve reached the end of the trail, return to Alex.

alex

I see, the trail ends at the castle. Is that where she is, then? In the castle? It makes no sense at all, if you ask me. What? Yeah, that’s right – there have been rumors about a girl crying in the tower. But could that actually be… you know… her?

Quest completed

______________

Cry to Me

alex

You know what, I need to run some errands, but here’s a really good recording machine. Why don’t you ride to the castle and wait until the crying starts – if it does, I mean – and try to get it on tape? Then we can listen to it together and decide whose voice it is.

Objectives: Use the recording machine to record any sounds from the tower.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 65 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride up to the castle gate to use the recorder.

alex

Did you hear anything? Got it on tape? Ok, let me just listen to this.

Quest completed

______________

It’s Linda

alex

That’s Linda’s voice. Yes, I’m sure of it. Godfrey must be keeping her locked in there for some reason. You need to confront the Baroness with this; she has to let us in the castle! The baroness is outside the vineyard, please ride there and talk to her.

Objectives: Go to the castle and confront the baroness.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 125 XP

Reputation: 45 with Keepers of Aideen

The Baroness is actually still at the vineyard like Alex says. Go speak with her immediately!

baroness

Excuse me? I’m not letting anybody in. You don’t know what you are talking about, little girl. What happens in this castle is none of your business. You should learn to keep your little worries to yourself, or else something unfortunate may happen to you, too.

Quest completed

Return to Alex tomorrow.

Looks like the Baroness isn’t going to budge. In the meantime let’s go make some new friends in Valedale.

The Valedale Stable

sophie

New in Valedale, huh? This place is not exactly a metropolis,  but at least we’ve got a stable. It’s over there; you should go take a look. Nice to meet you, by the way!

Objectives: Go to the Valedale stable and have a look.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Go talk to the stable girl Claire.

claire

Hi, there! Claire’s the name. You feel like working? In that case you’ve come to the right place, girlfriend! Look at the notice board to see what I need help with. I hope you’ll enjoy yourself while in Valedale. This village may be small… but it has a big personality!

Quest completed

______________

Show Me the Track

claire

If there’s a riding track here? Sure there is! We have an excellent cross-country trail here in Valedale. It’s in the eastern valley and looked after by Mr Andersson, the gamekeeper.

Objectives: Talk to Mr Andersson in the eastern valley about trying out the Valedale cross-country track.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

To get to the track, cross the bridge east of the stable and take the Silversong trail south a little bit past the two houses on that side of the river. Immediately past the houses, there’s a trail on the left heading into the mountains. Follow the trail up to the track.

mr_andersson

Well, hello there, little lady! Have you come to use the trail? I’m glad. Makes me feel like someone appreciates my work here, ha ha. Go ahead, go on! And ride carefully, miss. I don’t want to clean up your blood, eh! I’m joking, I’m joking. Have fun, miss.

Quest completed

______________

The Famous Valedale Track

mr_andersson

What’s the horse’s name? Run like the wind, Summerblaze!

Objectives: Try out the cross-country trail in Valedale.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Race this new track as quickly as you can!

mr_andersson

Those are four impressive horse legs, girl.  I am really impressed that you could ride the track so well!

Amazing Grains

barney

Here is the grain. Now bring that back to Steve and the birds.

Objectives: Bring the grain to Steve.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Do as Barney says and take the grain back to Steve.

steve

Wonderful! My birds can finally eat to their hearts content.

Quest completed

______________

Feeding the Birds

steve

Would it be too much to ask if you fed the birds as well? Just put the grain on the bird tables and they will flock around you. I think some birds are fleeing from the Everwind Fields since G.E.D. has started to drill for oil over there. Poor birds.

Objectives: Put the grain on the bird stables to feed the birds.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 125 XP

The bird tables are scattered around the farm. Place the grain from your inventory onto the bird tables.

steve

Look how happy they are. I must say that you make an excellent bird feeder.

Quest completed

Donald the Tailor needs some help!

I Need More Wool!

donald

Rita! How are you? Now that you’re here, perhaps you could do me a favor. After this harsh winter I need to make a lot of warm jackets for people. You see, I’m out of wool at the moment, and as a tailor I depend on wool to make fabrics and thread to make clothes with. You should be able to get some more wool from the shepherd, Landon. Please run this errand for me, will you?

Objectives: Find the shepherd and ask him for some wool.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The easiest way to get to the shepherd is to take the road north out of Silverglade Village, and after the large hill, take a right and he’s in the little field beyond.

landon

Well hello! What? You’ve come for wool? Oh, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you; I haven’t had time to shear the sheep yet. I’ve been too busy watching over them. I’m awfully afraid they’ll run away, you see, and that would be such a tragedy, don’t you think? I couldn’t stand losing another one of them.

Quest completed

______________

How to Shave a Sheep

landon

If it’s very important I could of course lend you some sheep shears and in that way you could shear the wool off them yourself. Do you want to help me with that?

Yes? You are a feisty young lady, I must say! Here you go then; take these sheep shears and cut off as much wool as you want.

Objectives: Use the sheep shears to cut wool from four sheep.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

You only need to shear four sheep so you can choose any four you want to shear.

landon

Nice work. Perhaps you should consider becoming a sheep farmer yourself some day? I work for the Baroness of Silverglade, do you know her? No? Ok, I guess you will meet her soon and probably start work for her like everybody else around here.

Quest completed

______________

Wool for the Tailor

landon

Say hello to Donald for me, will you? Now I’ve got to return to watching the sheep. I almost thought one of them was going, there, for a while. The Baroness would not be happy if I lost one… She is very upset right now over the new oil drilling project at the Everwind Fields.

Objectives: Take the wool to Donald, the tailor.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Donald is waiting for you.

donald

Beautiful! Looks like this wool has been cut off by a true professional and the sheep look great!

Quest completed

Looks like Harold needs help with something again.

Cookies to the Castle

harold

Once a month we deliver a jar of cookies to the castle. These are cardamom cookies; greatly appreciated by the Baroness. Will you take them there, please? Ride there on that beautiful horse of yours and it will take you no time at all.

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards for this one, sorry!

Take the cookies to the front gate of the castle.

self

“Nobody is answering the door. There’s nothing to do but head back to the shop. Unless you want to taste one of those cardamom cookies… they smell rather divine.”

Quest completed

______________

No Cookies to the Castle

self

“As nobody is answering the door, it seems the best thing to do is head back to the shop.”

Objectives: Return to the shop with the cookies.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Take the cookies back to Harold. And try not to eat any on the way back…

harold

The castle was closed? Nobody answered the door? You know, lately there’ve been some rumors circling around about that place. Someone said they heard what sounded like a girl crying from inside the building. Frankly, I don’t know what to think. The Baroness has seemed… anxious, lately.

Quest completed

______________

Bottles for the Butler

harold

If I have heard the crying? I can’t say I have. Actually, it kind of sounds like a silly ghost story to me. But hey, you could always ask the Baroness yourself when you see her.

The Baroness is the owner of the Silverglade Manor and the vineyards, you see. Her family, the Silverglades, run way back in history. They have been the most influential family in Jorvik since, I don’t know for how long, maybe hundreds of years.

Here are some wine bottle samples that the Baroness has requested. See if can deliver them to the butler, he should be at the winery. Ride carefully! The bottles are fragile.

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards for this one, sorry!

Take the gate out of the north of Silverglade Village and follow the road to the west to get to the winery.

godfrey

Miss? Oh, the bottle samples, very good. Thank you. What? Yes, the winter has been hard indeed, for the manor as well. How the Baroness is? You heard that she was very busy – I see. Well, one could say that; she’s had a lot on her mind lately with the G.E.D. exploiting the land and all. She’s building a new race track as well, which of course takes a lot of time and effort. But I’ll see that she gets these. Certainly, miss. Good bye.

Quest completed

______________

The Very Noble Stable

godfrey

Pardon? A stable? Why of course we have a stable here; the Silverglade Equestrian Center – the noblest stable in Jorvik, miss! You come from Moorland? Well, you should indeed pay a visit to the Equestrian Center; it houses some of the best performing horses on the island.

Why don’t you speak to Linda… hold on… what am I saying – not Linda! Ha, ha! Not Linda, miss. There are other stable girls over there, however. I think one of them is called Judy. Judy will be able to help you.

Objectives: Talk to Judy at the Silverglade Equestrian Center.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Suspicious, at the very least. I’ll be back to you later Mr Godfrey…

Ride over to the stable and speak with Judy.

judy

Hi Rita! Of course I know who you are, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Judy by the way. I spoke to Thomas Moorland earlier and he told me that you and Summerblaze are really great together, like you truly bonded. That makes me happy since Summerblaze is the horse I used to ride when I first started out as a stable girl at Moorland. He’s a wonderful horse and deserves a rider that understands him.

Anyway, we’re short on people here since Linda went away. Thomas said that if you happened to come by, I could ask you if you would be willing to help out a bit here.

Quest completed

______________

Help the Equestrian Center

judy

Have you met the Baroness yet? No, it doesn’t surprise me. She’s been acting almost hysterical lately – when you actually see her, that is. It seems like she’s spending more and more time inside the castle, God knows what she is doing.

Will you please help out the stables until Thomas needs you again?

Objectives: Talk to Judy at the Silverglade Equestrian Center.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Tell Judy you can help out in the stables.

judy

Thank goodness you said yes! Ok, so what we need you to do is give the horses hay and water, groom them and muck out the boxes. You can do this whenever you feel there’s the need. You’ll find detailed information on the notice board in the yard. I will be around if you need anything, but I doubt that you will have any problems. You look like a smart girl.

Quest completed

______________

Inspect the Water Pipes

judy

What we acutely need help with though, are the water pipes for the irrigation system in the fields. We just turned the water on and now the pipes are leaking. They must have broken down during the winter by the cold.

Do you think you could try to locate the leaks? Ride over there on Summerblaze, the terrain is a bit troublesome to walk on for you and me. When you find a leak, turn the knob and stop the water at that spot.

Objectives: Locate the eight leaks and turn eight knobs to stop the water.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Follow the orange highlights to the leaking pipes. All of the pipes are on the lower terrace of the vineyard, behind the stable.

judy

You found all the leaks? Fantastic! I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to have you here!

Quest completed

The next character that needs help is Carney. He is standing behind Judy next to the fence around the stable.

Testing the Soil

carney

So, I heard you were riding around and was hoping that I could ask you for a favor. The thing is, we’re doing some tests on the soil around the vineyards and the results should be ready now. Would you be so kind as to check them for me?

Objectives: Check the soil test instruments and report back to Carney.

Rewards: 22 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

The tests are in the very back fields and can most easily be reached by taking the trail next to the Manor to go behind it. There is a bridge over the little gully, and the tests are on the other side of the bridge.

When you have visited all three of the devices, return to Carney.

carney

Interesting. Very interesting. Thank you so much for helping me with this.

Quest completed

______________

Grape Sprout

carney

And you know what; could you get me a sprout from one of the grapevines as well? We’ll perform tests on that too. Use these garden shears. I did send the girl Sonja for the sprout samples, but she couldn’t find any…

Objectives: Cut off a sprout from the grapevines and return to Carney.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 65 XP

The sprout can be found on the lower terrace behind the stable.

Also, if you didn’t notice, the shears Carney gives you is actually a rake…

carney

That’s it. Thank you, Rita. You are of really good help.

Quest completed

Judy needs help again.

The Riding Plumber

judy

Here are some tools that you can use to fix the water leaks you found on the pipes.

Objectives: Use the tools to fix the water leaks.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 95 XP

Return to the same pipes that you turned off, and fix them with the plumbing kit.

judy

Ok, great. Let’s hope that the pipes stay together for a while. We’ve got other things to do, haven’t we?

Quest completed

______________

Report to the Baroness

judy

You did a great job on the pipes, Rita. The Baroness herself was here earlier and complained about the leaks – she will be absolutely thrilled over the fact that you fixed them.

You know what, you should go over to the castle and tell her. Then you’ll get a chance to introduce yourself. The Baroness is a really good person to know around here. If you’re ever in trouble she will be able to help you with almost anything. If you make a good impression on her, that is.

Objectives: Go to the Baroness and tell her that you fixed the leaks.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Go north past the front of the Manor and the Baroness is on the other side, in front of the wall, beside a pile of grapes.

baroness

Hello there my dear, who might you be? Rita? Oh, you work in the stable, I see. I’m delighted to hear that the leaks are fixed and that you sent the grapevines to be analyzed, very good indeed. I’m afraid you’ll have to be off now, though since I have a lot of work to get to. I’m a little stressed out at the moment as you may be able to tell.

If you could help? Well, I’m sure you can’t help more than you already did, dear; these are some big issues I’m handling right now. I’m sure you’ve already heard about the construction company doing their best to destroy my land – “Global Energy Domination”, have you ever heard such a fatheaded, ridiculous name? They actually set up an OIL FIELD next to my vineyards. and our upcoming harvest will be as poor as ever. Oh my. I feel like a terrible evil has come to this island.

Quest completed

Return to the Baroness tomorrow.

After the Baroness’ little speech it’s time to go see another person. Follow the same trail you took to get the soil tests back next to the Manor and cross the little bridge to get to the Everwind Fields.

A Familiar Unhappy Face

mr_kembell

Well, well, well… What do we have here? So we meet up again… Well, to be honest with you I am not very happy to see you again. You really ruined my plans to bring down your little stable and build my houses there. Do you have any idea how much money I lost because of you!

Are you going to try to destroy more things for me now?

Objectives: Talk to Mr Kembell.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

More Mr Kembell brand melodrama at its finest.

This oil is mine and only mine! Nothing will stop me from drilling for oil here, not even you! So take your stupid horse and go away! I don’t want to see you ever again!
