Meet Jupiter Peacebloom on the hill overlooking Hillcrest. It’s time to attempt a rescue mission!

Code Snowdrop… CODE SNOWDROP!!

jupiter_peacebloom

We’re going to rescue Herman, you say? Who’s Herman?

Meh, doesn’t matter. If it’s Code Snowdrop then there’s no time to waste!

Tell me what’s happened, and give me the short version so we don’t waste any more time.

Okay, I get it. You and Herman rode along the secret pathway over the Greydew Mountains, ended up in GED’s restricted area, Herman was captured by their guards, giving himself up so you could escape.

Sounds like a good guy, I understand why you’d want to save him!

Okay. I don’t know where they’re keeping him prisoner, so we have to work that out first. Follow me and we’ll sneak down to the fence. I know a way into their compound.

Objectives: Meet Jupiter Peacebloom by the gate which leads to GED’s area.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride down the hill and speak to Jupiter near the fence.

jupiter_peacebloom

Nobody saw you, right?

Quest completed

______________

The Key to GED

jupiter_peacebloom

I can’t see Herman, can you?

Yep. They must have him locked up farther into the compound. This won’t be easy, the place is crawling with GED guards.

How are we gonna get in? Haha, don’t worry about that. As it happens I have a key with me so we can get in.

Here, take a look…

Haha yep. A proper bolt cutter. There’s nothing it can’t open!

Okay Rita, take the bolt cutters and cut a hole in the fence. I’ll keep a lookout while you’re at it.

Objectives: Cut open a hole in the fence around GED’s compound.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Bolt cutters can cut through solid wood planks. Yep, makes sense to me…

jupiter_peacebloom

It went well, completely silent!

Quest completed

______________

Past the Guards to the Lookout…

jupiter_peacebloom

Okay, we have to find Herman as quickly as we can, but it’s a pretty big compound…

We’ll climb up the side of this building here and see if we can see him from up there. Hmm…

Sounds like a plan, right? I’ll sneak along first, you follow.

What’ll happen if the guards get you? Haha! Don’t worry about that. They don’t know who you are, they’ll just throw you out of the compound.

You’ve seen the huge thick black glasses they all wear, right? You haven’t thought about it?

Haha!!

GED are so nervous that somebody will leak their corporate secrets that they decided all their guards have to wear them. They can’t see more than a few feet in front of them. GED are more worried about their own people than they are about us, which isn’t so strange considering the way they treat their employees. I’m not complaining though, haha!

Come on, follow me!

Objectives: Sneak past GED’s guards and meet Jupiter Peacebloom at the agreed meeting place.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Sneaky, sneaky! Follow the checkpoints to find your way to Jupiter. Avoid the guards, they have their vision boundaries circling around them. Stay out of the boundary to cross the compound undetected. If you are seen, you will be removed from the grounds and have to start the quest over again.

jupiter_peacebloom

Great, nobody seems to have seen us.

Quest completed

______________

Blind Moles and Sandy Beaches

jupiter_peacebloom

I still can’t see Herman anywhere… Still, I think I know where we should go from here. See that tall building over there? The roof is the highest point in the complex so we’ll be able to see everything from up there.

See the building I mean?

Good. We’ll meet at the bottom of it. I’ll sneak over there first, and you follow once the coast is clear.

Remember, even though the guards see worse than blind moles on a sunny, sandy beach, don’t get too close to them. If they catch sight of you, they’ll throw you out in a heartbeat.

Good luck, Rita!

Objectives: Sneak past GED’s guards and meet Jupiter at the agreed spot.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Sneaky, sneaky, again.

jupiter_peacebloom

Great, nobody seems to have seen us so far.

Now we just need to get to the top of this building.

Quest completed

______________

Past the Guards, Up to the Top!

jupiter_peacebloom

Okay. We might be able to see Herman from the roof of the building there. It’s not possible to get any higher up here.

We’ll do just as we did before, I’ll sneak past first and you follow, okay? Good luck!

Objectives: Follow Jupiter and meet him at the top of the building.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Away we go!

Haha! Your plan worked Rita! I can see Herman from here, look…

Quest completed

______________

Sneak After Jupiter Again…

So, now we’ve found Herman, but I’m not too sure how exactly we’ll get him out. Any ideas Rita?

You’re thinking about it? Let me know when you’ve come up with something…

We can’t get him out of here just any old way, so it’s just as well that we get a little closer. We’ll meet down at the bottom of the building, and you can be thinking of a plan on the way down, okay?

Ready? I’ll sneak down first and you follow. As usual. We’re used to this now, huh? Haha!

Objectives: Follow Jupiter down and meet him at the bottom of the building.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Here we go again…

jupiter_peacebloom

Shh… There are guards everywhere, there’s no way to get past them. Maybe we need to give up? Ugh, I hate it when it gets like this, but I think we’re finished here… Grr…

What? You’ve got an idea?

Ugh! I hate this! We’re so close, but we’ll never get there. GED are blocking our ways in!

I should calm down? Okay, okay.

Quest completed

______________

Jupiter’s Diversion

jupiter_peacebloom

I should calm down and listen to your plan? Right, okay, I’m listening…

Hmm… You’ll create a diversion and catch the attention of the guards, then I sneak ahead to Herman and cut open the locks to his cage. Have I got that right?

Hmm… I dunno Rita…

Okay, we’ll give it a shot!

But wait, I’ll make the diversion so you can go save Herman. He knows you; if I show up, he might think it’s one of GED’s dirty tricks.

Here are the bolt cutters. Hope to see you again Rita. I’m off!

Objectives: Talk to Herman. He’s trapped in a cage in GED’s compound.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Watch Jupiter run off with the guards trailing behind him, then run up the hill to greet Herman in the sad little prison.

herman

Rita! What are you doing here?

Quest completed

______________

What Happened to Old Hillcrest?

herman

What are you doing here Rita?!

You’re saving me? Cutting open the locks so I can escape?!

Maybe later, but right now you have to listen to me. What I’m about to tell you is more important than my rescue!

I’ve been listening to the guards while they’ve been talking to each other Rita. Just bits of overheard conversations, but I think I’m starting to understand a little bit of what’s happened here in Hillcrest. GED have found something inside the rocks around here Rita, something so valuable that they’ll stop at nothing to get it.

I don’t know what it is, some kind of mineral or special met I think. GED have a codeword for it, they’re calling it Drakonium after Ms Drake.

Nobody seems to know what it can be used for, but GED stand to ruin all their competitors and be the world’s most powerful corporation if they get their hands on it.

It’s because of the Drakonium that they’ve forced out all the residents of Hillcrest and started the mine here. Something happened though as their drills finally got down to the Drakonium… Something terrible…

In the middle of their celebration of finally reaching the Drakonium, a huge and violent explosion was heard deep inside the ground. The earth shook and a mysterious purple mist started to pour out of the mine. It spread all across Hillcrest and lay like a heavy blanket over the top of the rocks. All the GED people tried to escape, but not all of them made it before the mist swept over them. Nobody has heard anything from those who were left, they seemed to get swallowed up by the earth…

It’s no longer possible to see any of Hillcrest through the mist, but sometimes it’s possible to hear sad, desperate cries from below. I’ve heard them myself Rita, and it’s bloodcurdling.

All of Old Hillcrest is now lost, and there’s not a living soul to be found there anymore. The mine they built is closed, and all the staff have fled from the area. Instead of carrying on drilling, they’ve built a huge wall around Hillcrest.

You’ll try to cut open the locks now? Okay, well hurry. I’ve got more to tell you…

Objectives: Cut open the lock to Herman’s cage.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Use the bolt cutters to try and cut open the lock.

herman

It didn’t work? Sigh. Keep trying Rita, and I’ll tell you more while you’re at it.

Quest completed

______________

More Important Than Freedom

herman

Listen now, this is really important.

GED are preparing to take back Hillcrest. It’s why they’ve got so many staff here, and reinforcements are on the way. If I’ve heard correctly, there’s more or less an army on the way here to attack the village and the mine.

I don’t know what’s in there, but it seems as though GED thinks some rival company is making a very aggressive take-over attempt on the mine. They believe the mist is some kind of gas, and that the sounds from the village are just recordings designed to frighten them. I don’t know how they’re thinking, but whatever got out in Hillcrest is something much worse than just a competing corporation, I can tell you. Whatever’s up there isn’t after money. It wants blood…

If GED succeeded in taking back Hillcrest, they’ll reopen the mine and become the most powerful company in the world. Harvest Counties and Jorvik don’t stand much of a chance after that…

Sigh. Rita, you haven’t got time to waste trying to save me anymore, GED’s guards will be along soon and they’ll catch you. You need to get out of here and tell Mrs X everything I just told you, it’s more important than me escaping.

I can tell her myself, you say? You’re going to try cutting the lock open with the bolt cutters again? I’ve always like that you’re such an optimist Rita. Hoho!

Objectives: Cut open the lock to Herman’s cage.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Give the bolt cutters one more try.

herman

It didn’t work?

Quest completed

______________

Herman Disappears Again

herman

You need to tell Mrs X about the Drakonium, tell her about what happened with Hillcrest and GED’s plans to take back the mine! It’s more important than anything else!

You’re going to give the lock one last try? You’ve almost cut through it?

Wait…

What was that?

The crane! They’re lifting me away!

Quick Rita, get out of here! You can’t save me now, but we’ll see each other again, I promise!

Get to Mrs X and save the Harvest Counties!

Never give up the fight!

Objectives: Get up onto Summerblaze.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Bye bye Herman 😦

As Herman is lifted away, guards approach to stop you and your horse rushes to your rescue!

horse

Neeeiiigghhhh!!

Summerblaze looks at you with determination. Together you can do this!

Quest completed

______________

Escape From Hillcrest. Again.

horse

Neigh!!

You and Summerblaze are an unbeatable team! Escape the compound!

Objectives: Escape from GED’s compound then talk to Jupiter Peacebloom.

Rewards: 75 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Catch me now, suckers! Viva la Jorvik!!

Escape the compound as you did when you first journeyed to Epona. When you have made it to the other side of the fence, find Jupiter back up on the hill where you first spoke to him.

herman

Rita! You made it…

Where’s Herman?

Sigh.

They moved him before you could get him out…

Quest completed

______________

Back to New Hillcrest

herman

We did our best Rita, but it wasn’t enough. I hate it when this happens!

Sigh.

The only thing we can do now is to report what happened to Mrs X.

You want to come along?

Sorry, but that’s not part of the plan. Only the inner circle of CHILL’s members get to meet her.

Ride back to Sunshine in New Hillcrest. If it was her who sent you here, it might be that she’s got orders from Mrs X about what happens next with you.

Maybe we’ll meet again Rita, but probably not. Friends aren’t something we’ve really got time for in CHILL.

Objectives: Ride to New Hillcrest and talk to Sunshine Joytree.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Mission failed, time to go report back..

sunshine_joytree

La la la…

How did it all go?

Badly? Dum dee dum… The mission was a failure, you say?

La dee da, that’s a shame…

What’s that? You’ve got important information from Herman to give to Mrs X? Humm dee dumm… You didn’t have time to tell Jupiter before he rushed off, you say?

La dee do dee da…

Come back tomorrow Rita… I’ll ask Mrs X if she might be able to meet you after all…

Quest completed

Return to Sunshine Joytree tomorrow.

It worked! You got my text!

The Road to Epona

herman

Hi Rita! Great you could make it here so quickly.

I’ve got wonderful news!

Remember the report Ms Drake gave me before? Exactly, the one she asked you to put in the mail but you gave it to me instead. I’ve read it all, more times than I can count! And… Well…

Hang on, let me just gather myself a moment. One shouldn’t stress when there are important things to talk about. I put some water on to boil for tea earlier. A cup of tea is just the thing for discussing things as important as this!

I think the water’s boiling, could you take it off the heat Rita?

I’ll get my thoughts together while you do that.

Objectives: Take the pot of boiling water off the heat, then talk to Herman again.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Let’s make some tea!

herman

Thanks Rita! Now the water can just rest a little and cool down, then we can make a nice cup of tea for us both.

Right, yes, as I was saying. I’ve read Ms Drake’s report, the one you gave me before, and if I’m completely honest I don’t actually understand very much of it.

You see, nothing’s written in plain language. Codes here, references to other documents there, and vague concepts everywhere.

But what’s completely clear is that something big and unbelievable dangerous is on the go. There are references to something called “Operation Grim Harvest.” There are spreadsheets with entries like “industrial harvest equipment,” “aggressive damage claims,” and “demolition estimates for a city the size of Jarlaheim.” There are forms that mention hiring “heavily equipped external security consultants…” It just goes on and on.

You can hear for yourself Rita, it sounds like G.E.D. are planning something truly terrible. Thing is, there’s nothing that even comes close to evidence in the report, certainly nothing that G.E.D.’s army of lawyers can’t explain away or interpret as something that’s completely within the law.

I’m sorry Rita, but G.E.D. are good. Too good. There’s nothing in this report I could use to stop them.

Don’t look so sad though Rita! Haha!

Just because I don’t understand the report, doesn’t mean that it can’t be used by someone else!

I’ve sent copies to friends around Jorvik, and I’ve had an answer back from some of them. More particularly, from just the person I was hoping to hear from. This is why I’m so happy! Jorvik’s leading warrior in the fight against G.E.D. as been in touch.

The person I’m talking about is the leader of CHILL, a secret organization who are doing all they can to throw nails in the road for G.E.D.

I’ve never met her before, I don’t know what she looks like, and I don’t know where she lives. I only know her name.

Of course I’m talking about Mrs X. Have you heard of her?

Quest completed

______________

On the Other Side of the Gates

herman

Let me explain.

A few days ago, a letter arrived from Mrs X. She wrote that G.E.D.’s report confirmed her suspicions of what G.E.D. are up to in the Harvest Counties. She didn’t want to say anything more in the letter — “safety first!” as she wrote — but if I meet her, she’s promised to tell me more face to face. After that, she’s certain we’ll be able to stop G.E.D. once and for all.

This could be exactly the kind of good news we needed Rita! I must meet her as soon as possible.

She did however have two demands. I need to go to the meeting place alone, and I’m absolutely not allowed to tell anyone about where we’re meeting, not even you Rita. The problem is getting there, because the meeting place is in Epona. Do you know where that is?

Exactly, it’s the area on the other side of the gates near Greendale. Unfortunately, there’s only one way there and it goes through Harald Stormheart’s land. The gates there have been locked for years, and I’ve got no idea how I’d get past. Harald is a very old friend of mine, he’d help us as much as he could, I’m sure of it. Thing is, I can’t talk to him if I can’t get through those gates.

Or, well, of course I mean “we.” I can’t do this by myself, I need help. It’ll be a dangerous journey, certainly not something an old fella like me can handle alone.

So I suppose my question is, will you come with me to Epona, Rita?

Great! Great news! I knew I could count on you. I’ve promised Mrs X that I wouldn’t say  word to anyone about the meeting place, but right up until we get close, we travel together, okay?

Super! I’ve been working on an idea and I’ll tell you about it…

But surely the tea is ready by now. Could you fetch us both a cup?

Objectives: Bring two teacups to Herman.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP, Cup of Tea

Pick up the two cups on the counter next to Herman to bring him the tea.

herman

Ahh, thanks for the tea, Rita. It’s a lovely cuppa.

Yes, of course! My idea. Now, listen up.

There’s a secret pathway that goes over the Greydew Mountains. Not a lot of people know that, but it’s been used by soldiers, refugees, and smugglers all throughout history. If I just knew where it was, we’d be able to use it to get ourselves over to Epona. What do you think to that plan Rita?

You wonder how we’ll find out where it is? I don’t suppose it’ll be very easy, but with a little help from our friends, I’m sure it’ll work out. You see, two of the families around here know the secrets of this hidden pathway. We need their help, and if there’s anyone who can get them to help us out, it’s you Rita.

I’ll start making preparations for our trip and try to get hold of all the information I can find about Epona. In the meantime, you get going on finding out where exactly this secret pathway over the Greydew Mountains is. Does that sound like a plan?

Quest completed

______________

Guardians of the Secret Path

herman

The Goldspur family are one of the two families who guard the secrets of the hidden path over the Greydew Mountains. They know where it starts, and without knowing that, we’re not really going to get very far.

Talk to Jakob Goldspur and explain the situation to him. He might be a little suspicious, but if he feels as though he can trust you, I’m sure he’ll give you some info.

Objectives: Talk to Jakob Goldspur.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride out to the Goldspur Mill and speak to old man Jakob.

jakob_goldspur

Hello there! How can I help you?

You want to find a secret pathway over the Greydew Mountains? What makes you think an old man like me would know anything about something like that?

Quest completed

______________

A Double Obstacle Ahead…

jakob_goldspur

So, you want me to tell you where the secret pathway over the Greydew Mountains begins?

Hmm… Okay. I’ll tell you, but I don’t think you’re going to like what I have to say.

It all began when my dad had an idea. The location of the start of the path was written down on a piece of paper, but he thought that was far too unsafe. He knew a druid in Valedale and with his help he created what he thought was a much better solution: a magic compass.

The compass shows the way to where the path begins, but only if the person using it knows the secret phrases which activate the magic in the old stones guarding the way. Incredibly clever, and a bit more robust than just a little slip of paper. The secret phrases are taught to everyone in our family when we’re kids, but the compass is always looked after by the oldest member of the family. This means that at the moment, the compass is held by me.

Unfortunately though, the compass is gone. Well. Not gone exactly, but it’s a little out of reach right now…

Why is it out of reach?

Umm… That’s not really something I want to talk about. Don’t look so angry, Rita!

Okay, okay, I’ll tell you but you have to promise not to laugh.

Hannibal and Alexander were allowed to borrow it from me a few weeks ago. I thought they’d think it was nice to look at, but they obviously had other ideas. I should’ve known it was a bad idea. Sigh.

They hid it, and then thought it was funny that I should have to look for it. Lots of fun. Hmm. But, before they got to tell me their plan, Idun shouted that it was time for dinner, and you don’t want to keep Idun waiting. They of course ran inside and promptly forgot where they’d hidden it.

I’ve looked and looked and it’s nowhere to be found… They must’ve hidden the compass in quite excellent hiding place, or well at least it’s far too tricky for me anyway. Plus, it’s been decades since anybody’s needed to know anything about the secret path, so I assumed I wasn’t against the clock when it came to finding the compass.

You might have a little more luck than me, Rita. Ask the twins if they can remember where they hid the compass, and perhaps they’ll recall if it’s you who’s asking…

Objectives: Talk to Hannibal Goldspur.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Wait to go Gramps… Now I have to deal with the creepy babies…

Speak to Hannibal up by the Goldspur Farm.

hannibel_goldspur

Do you want to play, Rita?! Pleeeeeease?!

Compass? Grandpa’s old compass?

Haha, we hid that so well! You’ll never find it, hahaha!

Quest completed

______________

Super Crafty Blackmail

hannibel_goldspur

Haha! The compass is hidden in a super crafty place! We’ll never tell you where it is!

But… We do really like candy… Heehee!

We might tell you if we had something sweet… But, you know, don’t say anything to our mother. She’d be super angry!

Where would you find candy? Well our daddy Angus has usually got some, so maybe you can ask him? Heehee, hurry though, otherwise we might forget where the compass is! Heeheehee!!

Objectives: Talk to Angus Goldspur.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Listen here, you little shit. Nobody blackmails me and gets away with it, especially not a creepy baby like you…

Tell Angus about this blackmail scheme you’ve become caught in.

angus_goldspur

Hi Rita! What’s up?

Candy for the twins? No, no, no, they eat far too many sweeties already, the last thing they need is more sugar.

Quest completed

______________

Pick Gunpowder Pepper

angus_goldspur

Why do you want to give the twins more sweets Rita? You know it’s not good for them.

You need to give them candy so they’ll help you with something important, you say?

Blackmail…

Haha, if they want sweeties, then they’ll get them. Specially prepared Angus-candy.

Rita, in the fields around here on our land there’s loads of gunpowder pepper growing. It’s a flower that’s very, very spicy. Completely harmless and great for giving a little kick to some of the simpler meals, but it’s not something you’d exactly call candy. Hehehe…

Grab a few handfuls of gunpowder pepper and the twins can get a taste of candy they’ll not soon forget!

Objectives: Pick some gunpowder pepper flowers in the Goldspurs’ fields, then return to Angus Goldspur.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

-evil laughter-

The pepper flowers can be found in the horse paddock next to the road, and also in the wheat field.

angus_goldspur

Great, now let’s make some gunpowder candy! Haha!

Quest completed

______________

Gunpowder Lollipops

angus_goldspur

So there we go, two lollipops dipped in gunpowder pepper.

This should give those cheeky twins something to think about! Haha!

Tell them from me that if they don’t help you, then all the sweeties they get from me in the future will be seriously spicy!

Objectives: Give the lollipops to Hannibal Goldspur.

Reward: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Revenge is a dish best served spicy hot!

hannibel_goldspur

Haha yay! Lollies! Gimme!

Omnomnom!

Slurp, slurp!

A New Prank to Play on Grandpa

hannibel_goldspur

That wasn’t very nice, Rita, but you win. This time.

It was pretty funny though, I didn’t think you could have so much fun with just a bit of pepper…

Haha! Now we’ll get Grandpa good next dinnertime.

Haha!

The compass?

Oh, nah. No idea where it is… We hid it really well somewhere around here in the farmyard. So well hidden that we can’t even find it now. Haha!

If I can remember anything?

Umm… I think it was somewhere high up. Now I remember! It was in one of the silos!

You’ll have to go look for it yourself though, we’ve got to go and pick gunpowder pepper of our own! Thank dad for the tip! Haha!

Objectives: Find the compass, then take it to Jakob Goldspur.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The compass can be found in the upper level of the silo by the mill. Once you have found it, speak to Jakob.

jakob_goldspur

Did you find the compass Rita?

Great, where had those little rascals hidden it? Up at the top of the silo? They know very well they’re not allowed to play there. I’ll be having a word with those two scoundrels!

First though, I’ll show you how the compass works.

With the Help of the Compass, We’ll Find the Way

jakob_goldspur

So, here’s how the compass works, Rita.

Take out the compass and say the magic words, “O, Golden Compass, hear our plea, Goldspur’s guardians beg of thee: tell where the secret path may be.”

It’s a bit over the top if you ask me, but my dad liked a little bit of the theatrical and he’s the one who came up with the wording, so I guess that’s how it’s got to be.

Oh well, when you’ve said the magic words, the needle on the compass will point to the direction in which you’ve got to ride to get to a magic milestone. When you reach the stone, place the compass on it and say the next magic phrase, “O, Golden Compass, the way you’ve shown, led Goldspur’s guardians to this magic stone.”

The compass will then show you the way to the next magic milestone, and then you do the same thing again. Continue doing it until you get to the beginning of the secret path.

I don’t know quite why the compass can’t just show you where the path is in the first place, but dad was pretty special like that.

Do you understand how the magic compass works now?

Good!

Best of luck to you!

Objectives: The compass is shown on the map, down to the right of your screen. Follow the direction it’s showing until you get to your target, then use the compass there.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

The compass will actively adjust direction as you ride, leading you to the first stone on Dew Mountain Road, just past the windmill at Goldspur’s Farm.

Very well done. We’re almost ready to head off to Epona.

Chock Full of Tricksy Traps!

The pathway over the Greydew Mountains isn’t just hard to find, it’s also full of traps. If you don’t know how to get past the traps, then it’s impossible to get to the end of the path. Well, impossible to get to the end of the path alive.

The Jarlassons have been guarding the secrets of the path’s traps for generations. If you can get Dorith Jarlasson to understand why it’s so important for you to use the path, then I’m sure she’ll tell you about the traps. Talk to Dorith Jarlasson and explain the situation to her.

Good luck!

Objectives: Talk to Dorith Jarlasson on Paddock Island.

Reputation: 15 with the Jarlasson Family

Now to begin the second part of preparation.

dorith_jarlasson

Hello, dear Rita! How can I help you on this beautiful day?

You want to know how to avoid the traps along the secret pathway over the Greydew Mountains?

…

That’s one of our family’s oldest and most closely guarded secrets. Are you sure I can trust you not to tell anyone?

Quest completed

______________

An Extremely Valuable Document

dorith_jarlasson

So, you’d like to know how to get across the Greydew Mountains. As you’ve probably already gathered, there’s a secret pathway over the mountains, which is, just as it sounds, secret.

The Goldspur family knows where the path is, and my family knows how to get past the lethal traps that are designed to stop the path being used by the enemies of the Harvest Counties.

I understand it’s important for you to get to Epona, so I’ll help you as much as I can. The information you’re after is written in the Jarlasson Code, an old document that’s been handed down through generations, but unfortunately it’s no longer in our possession. Don’t look so horrified! It’s in good hands, which is probably just as well. It does  mean though, that I can’t just give it to you, you’ll have to ask Jill Goldspur for permission to borrow it.

You see, we donated the code – along with a collections of other old items – to Jarlaheim. We didn’t have the money to look after all our old antiquities properly, and we were worried that they would eventually be destroyed, so we donated them to the city so that they would be looked after properly by trained experts and studied by Jorvegian researchers. I know that the Jarlasson Code is in the cellar of the courthouse and it’s kept in a special room with the perfect temperature and humidity. It’s incredibly highly valued, but I’m sure that Jill Goldspur would lend it to you considering everything you’ve done for Jarlaheim.

Say hello to Jill from me and come back once you’ve got the Jarlasson Code.

Objectives: Talk to Jill Goldspur.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 20 with The Jarlasson Family

Ride to Jarlaheim and speak to Jill near the city courthouse.

jill_goldspur

You’re wondering if you could borrow a document from the courthouse’s library? It’s not something we’d usually allow, but since it’s you, we might be able to make an exception… Which document are you thinking about?

The Jarlasson Code? The unsolved code that used to belong to the Jarlasson Family? Are you aware that this is one of the most priceless documents we own? It’s out of the question!

Quest completed

______________

Handled by Experts

jill_goldspur

I’m sorry Rita, but historical documents need to be handled by trained antiques experts. It’s entirely out of the question that you’d get to handle it yourself.

Perhaps my dumbo brother would let you into the library, but as luck would have it, he’s disappeared.

Typical…

I asked him to sign off on a whole bunch of important paperwork that needs to be sent away by tomorrow morning at the latest. If you see him anywhere, you could tell him to hurry up.

Objectives: Look for Jack Goldspur.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

He can be found on the ramp up to the wall behind the courthouse building.

jack_goldspur

Yo yo yo, Rita! How’s it hangin’? You’ve seen Jill? I’m trying to stay out of her way since she’s trying to get me to work. Ever heard anything so awful? Haha!

You wanna go in there and Jill wouldn’t let you?

Okay, of course I’ll let you in there buddy! Maybe you could help me with something first though, yeah? You will? Sweeeeet!

All these dullsville papers, yeah? Jill’s gonna be crazy angry if I don’t sign them. Could you fix that up for me? Pleeeeease?! I promise I’ll let you into the library if you help me avoid her coming in her with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp… You’ll help me?! Radical!!

Dismount your horse to use the pen on the papers dropped on the ground. You only have to sign the first four pages. Make sure to have your sound on as the pen makes some…. interesting… noises. It’s apparently important for my image to get out there and meet the people, and I agree! Who wouldn’t want to meet a legend like me?!

But I haven’t got time. I’ve got tons of important stuff to be doing, like, y’know, mayor stuff. Maybe you’d do it for me?

You can?

Oh, pleeeeeeease?!

Hmm, it doesn’t look too complex, but even though I’m good at mathematics, I’ll need your help. It’s a lot of numbers to keep in my head at one time.

Help Herman Pack

herman

We need to get going as soon as possible Rita. I just need to get a few final things together before we leave. Gosh, it’s a lot to take care of, would you mind helping?

Thanks! It’s been a while since I’ve made a journey like this one, and the Greydew Mountains are known for their ‘unwelcoming’ weather. Once we get down from the mountains though, we’ll be in between the two rivers that run through Epona, Full Moon Water, and the Epona River. It’s always warm there, since the water in the rivers comes from a hot spring deep inside the mountain. It’s this heat that makes the air and water much warmer than usual.

So yes, a trip where you have to change out of your winter coat and into your swim shorts every five minutes isn’t the easiest journey to pack for. Haha!

Rita, would you mind getting my winter clothes and swim shorts for me? I did the laundry yesterday, and it’s still all hanging out to dry, since I forgot to take it down and put it away.

Lovely! Grab the clothes, and then we can be off!

I feel twenty years younger, Rita! This is going to be tremendous fun. First, we need to get past all those traps on the secret path. I’ll check the map while you ride, and I’ll warn you if you’re getting too close to a trap.

Take it easy, Rita, but not too easy. Mrs X is waiting for us in Epona, and we have to meet her as soon as possible. Soon enough G.E.D. will get what they justly deserve!

Come on Rita! Let’s go!

Objectives: Ride along the secret path over the Greydew Mountains, and look out for the traps!

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Click on the sparkles to enter the beginning of the path. It is not a race so you can take your time. This quest is difficult! If you get hit with a trap, you will have to begin the quest again.

The first two traps are falling trees and rocks off the cliff above you. Stop to let the danger fall and settle, then ride on.

The next trap is a gigantic rolling boulder. You have two options to avoid this one. Herman tells you to run out onto the cliff and stop. If you choose to do that, run as soon as he tells you, out onto the grassy outcrop and the boulder will roll behind you. You can also stop as soon as he tells you to run, stay on the hill, and the boulder will roll past in front of you. Once the boulder is gone, you can continue on.

There are several breaks in the cliff edge you will have to jump over.

The last traps is two sets of geysers that explode in order down the line. These traps repeat, so you will have to time your run past each geyser, then wait for the next to blow before continuing on.

Herman will announce when you have made it past all of the traps on the path. Ride down into the G.E.D. site until a guard stops you and a bulldozer parks behind you, blocking your retreat back onto the path.

Rita, listen carefully now. We’ll never get out of here together.

Do you understand? Ride, Rita. I’ll stay behind.

I know it’s not perfect, but it’s the only way. They’d catch up with me before I’d had a chance to take ten steps, but I’ve seen you ride. You’re the finest rider I’ve ever seen.

You’re the only one who can do this.

I’ll stop the guard so you can escape. You’ve got to do what we came to do now. You’ve GOT to find Mrs X.

Sigh.

I don’t know what I can do to get him free… But wait, what were you doing on G.E.D.’s land anyway?

Herman was on his way to meet Mrs X?

Hmm… I’ve heard a fair amount about her, but I’ve stayed out of the fight between her and G.E.D.

But if there’s anyone who can save Herman from the clutches of G.E.D., it’s Mrs X. I’m going to do everything I can to help you find her.

First though, I’ve kept myself locked in here on this land for long enough.

I locked my gates so that G.E.D. wouldn’t be able to get onto my land but they just went right ahead and built up their enterprise up on the mountain instead. It doesn’t matter how much I try to hide, G.E.D. just does whatever they want anyway. Now they’ve crossed the line. Kidnapping Herman?! They’ve crossed the line…

G.E.D. has to be stopped.

I’m going to need all the help I can get. There’s no point staying hidden away in here anymore, and if someone from Jarlaheim wants to come and help, then they’re welcome.

Rita, go at once and unlock the gate on the road between my land and Jarlaheim. The code is 1234.

I wish I had some wonderful idea about how you could save Herman from G.E.D., but I can’t think of anything right now. I’ll think and think until my head aches, but I can’t make any promises. Mrs X has the best chance of saving Herman.

Unfortunately, I’ve got new idea of how you’d get hold of her… I don’t know much of anything about her to be honest. Only that she’s incredibly brave, intelligent, and the leader of CHILL.

CHILL is incredibly secretive, so getting in touch with their leader is no small task.

There’s one person who might now… Pamela Moonriver. She lives in Crescent Moon Village down by the Full Moon River, the river running to the south. She’s openly associated with CHILL, which makes her a brave woman if I ever knew one. If you let her know what’s going on, then maybe she can help you.

But if you want to get to Crescent Moon Village, you’ll need to unlock the gate here by me first. There’s a combination lock on the gate, and I can’t remember the code for the life of me. The gate is exactly the same as the one on the road to Jarlaheim, but the code. Nope. It’s been so long since anyone wanted to open it.

Hmm, I’m sure I had a really good system for remembering the code, hang on… How did it go?

Yes! There are four numbers in the code, and the numbers in the code are the same as the number of legs on different animals…

The animals were a bear, a horse, a human, and an ant.

Do you understand? You look unsure, but you’ll get it Rita! Come back if you need more help.

Your friend Herman was captured by G.E.D., you say? Hmm… I’ve heard of Herman. Seems like a good chap.

First, some advice. Be very careful talking about Mrs X and CHILL around these parts. You never know who might be listening…

I’ll ask around, perhaps I know someone who knows where to find Mrs X. I hope you don’t mind me saying, but I’ll also ask around a little bit about you Rita, just to see if I can’t find out a little more about you. Safety first, you know.

That said, it’s going to take me a little while to get in touch with my contacts. Come back tomorrow and I’ll let you know how I’m getting on.

The Gate by Wolf Hall Inn

ed_field

Hey there Rita! What brings you to my fabulous hostelry?

No, no! Don’t answer! I already know! You’re here to try my latest creation: a Buttered Henderson! Mud-marinated gravel with oven-baked slate!

No? You’re sure? It’s an innovative dish, a timeless tribute to Jorvik’s most undervalued stones…

Ah well, maybe another time. What can I help you with then? You want to unlock the gate on the road between Wolf Hall Inn and the Eastern Slopes?

Well of course I can help you! It’s fiendishly simple of course, just put the code into the lock!

Now let me see, the code… Code, code, code… Nope. Totally forgot the code Rita. I’ve written it down somewhere though, but I’ve no idea where, truth be told. Haha! My intellect is astonishing, I just sort all the unimportant stuff automatically into little forgotten pockets so that I’ve got space in my brain for all this awesome innovative cookery I get up to. Totally amazing, right?

Rita, have a look around the Inn and you’ll probably stumble across the code lying around here somewhere.

Objectives: Find the code to the lock on the gate that blocks the road between Wolf Hall Inn and the Eastern Slopes. It’s written somewhere around Wolf Hall Inn.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 20 with Wolf Hall Inn

The code is written on the side of the barn at the top of the hill, behind the inn. Return to Ed when you have found the code.

ed_field

You found the code? It was written on a wall? Haha! I’m just too awesome sometimes, you’ve gotta agree Rita, right? Yeah? Haha!

Or, hang on… Wait! Maybe they’ve got some amazing incredible ingredients out there! Y’know what? If you get the gate open, come back and let me know so that this can be a new culinary adventure for Ed Field!

Unlock the gate and come back to me when you’re done! Good luck!

Objectives: Unlock the gate on the road between Wolf Hall Inn and the Eastern Slopes. If you don’t remember the code, it’s written on a wall of one of the buildings at Wolf Hall Inn.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 15 with Wolf Hall Inn

Ride up to the gate and enter the code 1218.

Hey, Rita! You’re really starting to make a name for yourself at Jorvik Stables as an accomplished rider! Are you interested in a challenge? You are? Good!

You see, I’ve created a new contest which I think you’ll like. It’s not so simple, but that’s the intention. For a long time, I’ve wanted to make a contest for our most premium riders, something to really give them a challenge.

What do you say? Are you ready to test the Jorvik Stables Elite Competition?

Objectives: Ride over the finish line.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Complete the race and speak with Barbara afterwards.

barbara

Wow! Very well ridden! Let me know if you want to compete again.

Quest completed

You can now run the Elite Competition as a daily race.

Ms Drake has noticed your hard work with G.E.D. Time to speak with her by the Jarlaheim office.

A Step Up in Your Career?

ms_drake

Rita, get over here.

I’ve observed you and you’ve done very well. I hereby promote you to my personal assistant. You won’t get any pay of course, you’re still too inexperienced, but as my assistant, I’ll have more assignments for you in the future. I expect that you’ll handle the work you already to, in addition to any new chores I might have for you.

Don’t think you can get away, don’t even dare to resign! If you betray me, you’ll regret it forever.

Alright. Well done.

Your first assignment is to mail this report to G.E.D.’s management. It contains classified information about our work here, so don’t you dare leave it out of your sight for even a second!

(You believe this is exactly what Herman has been waiting for. A report describing G.E.D.’s activities in Jarlaheim. You decide to ride to Herman instead of mailing the report.)

Objectives: Bring the report to Herman. He’ll definitely want to see this!

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP

Reputation: 25 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Enter Herman’s house at Jorvik Stables to give him the report.

herman

A report from Ms Drake to the management of G.E.D?

Amazing! How did you manage that? Incredibly well done, Rita!

Let’s see what it says.

Let’s see now…

…

This confirms my worst suspicions, Rita… G.E.D.’s plans will destroy everything we hold dear here in the Harvest Counties. I’ll have to think, Rita. Something needs to be done, but I’m not sure what…

There’s no point in you waiting here. Ride out and continue your adventures, and I’ll call on you when I’ve come up with a plan.

See ya! And once again, amazingly well done, Rita!

Jill in Jarlaheim has another task for you to help more Harvest Counties residents.

Missing Poultry

jill_goldspur

Hello Rita.

If you have time, I’d be grateful for your assistance. I’ve received a request for aid from Filip Sunfield on behalf of the city. As always I’m terribly busy. Jack has managed to infuriate the entire merchant quarter by saying he’ll tear down the whole area to build a disco there instead. He didn’t mean anything, he’d just been to Fort Pinta and danced and the reporter who spoke to him happened to catch him precisely as he returned, at five in the morning!

So, I need to sort out this blunder before it gets any worse…

You have time to help me? Thank you Rita, it’s much appreciated. I don’t know much, but apparently, his chickens have gone missing. I think it best if you ride over there at first opportunity and let him do the explaining.

You might have been to the Sunfield farm already? If not, it’s quite simple to locate it. Ride eastwards, through the city gates, towards Jorvik Stables, but make a turn to the north once you get to the horse pastures. It’s the farm northeast of Jorvik Stables.

Good luck, Rita.

Objectives: Ride to the Sunfield farm and speak to Filip.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Speak with Filip about the newest crisis.

filip_sunfield

Hello there! Nice to meet you.

I do not have time to talk to you right now. You see, our chickens are gone, and I’ve been busy trying to find them.

Aha. Jill sent you to help find them? Great! I can always rely on Jill.

It was a good idea of her to send for you. This is a mystery and it needs your shrewd kind to solve it.

Quest completed

______________

Not a Feather Left

filip_sunfield

It was like this. In the morning I was peacefully sleeping when Saga all of a sudden came screaming that the chickens were all gone! All of them! I’m usually quite sleepy in the morning, but you can understand I was wide awake in an instant and ran to the chicken coop as quickly as my feet would take me. All the chickens were indeed gone. Not even a feather was left!

First I thought it must have been a fox, but all the shutters were closed and there were no holes a fox could get in, or a chicken out, for that matter. My family and I have searched the entire estate for hours without so much as stumbling on a clue. I don’t have time to search any more, there is simply too much that needs doing on the farm which cannot wait.

Hmm. You know what? Go inspect the chicken coop yourself and try to figure out what has happened. You can find it in the courtyard in front of the silo. It’s hard to miss.

Thank you for your help, Rita. Let me know if you find anything.

Objectives: Inspect the chicken coop and see if you can find a clue to what has happened to the chickens.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Search around the chicken coop, then return to Filip with your findings.

filip_sunfield

Hello again, Rita. Have you figured out what happened to my chickens?

No?

Oh. That was it then. Poor chickens…

What? You found something on the ground? Let me see.

Hmm… What is this now?

A button. Well, it’s not mine, but that’s about all I can tell you about it. Listen. There isn’t anything special about it. Anyone might have lost it there. It’s the only clue we have? Well, alright then. Who might know something? Well, my family are the only ones who could have lost it I suppose.

Quest completed

______________

Is it Saga’s Button?

filip_sunfield

Saga’s my daughter. She was the one who first discovered that the chickens were missing. She’s over at the farm, working. Maybe it’s her button?

Objectives: Speak to Saga Sunfield.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Maybe Saga knows something…

saga_sunfield

Hi there! My name is Saga.

What’s your name? Nice to meet you, Rita.

How can I help you? You’re here about the chickens?

Quest completed

______________

A Bag to Carry

saga_sunfield

Wow! I was so shocked when I discovered all the chickens were missing, I’ve not been able to do anything sensible all day. I’ve just been pondering what happened. What if someone has bird-napped them?!

A button? Oh, I’d like to have a look but I have to all the chores I promised mom and dad before it gets too late. I have to carry awfully heavy bags from the silo to a spot behind the wall for transporting. Whew! I can only carry them for a yard or so before I need to take a breather, otherwise I couldn’t possibly manage. When I’m done, we can speak, Rita, but right now I need to focus on my task at hand.

You can carry the bags on your horse? What a great idea! Surely that will be very fast. Okay, the bags are over there by the silo. Place them behind the wall on the back side of the farm.

Thank you for your help!

Objectives: Carry bags from the silo and place them by the wall on the back side of the farm. Return to Saga Sunfield afterwards.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

You can only carry one bag at a time, and the weight slows your horse down, so move carefully with the bags. When you are finished moving all of them, speak with Saga again.

saga_sunfield

Thank you for your help!

Now, let me think. I got up earlier than anyone this morning, and when I got out, all the chickens were gone! I’ve been all over, but they’re just gone. I don’t know what happened.

A button? Let me see. So, you found this on the ground next to the chicken coop?

Hmm… It’s not very dirty. It can’t have been on the ground for long.

Unfortunately I don’t recognize it. Hope someone else is able to help you.

Good luck! See you around!

Quest completed

______________

Is It Martina’s Button?

filip_sunfield

My wife Martina might have lost the button. That’s a possibility, I think. She always has a lot to do, but you could always ask her if the button belongs to her, if she has the time to see you.

Objectives: Ask Martina if she knows anything about the button.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Saga wasn’t helpful, maybe Martina can be…

martina_sunfield

If I’ve lost a button? Maybe I have, but I don’t have time for a whole lot of chatting right now.

The Cows Need Milking

martina_sunfield

Listen, I don’t have time for you right now. The chickens are gone and you’ve found a button, I know, I know. It’s not breaking news. But do you know what? There is nothing I can do, and if everyone was to run around and search for some runaway chickens, nothing would be done around here.

You really want me to take a look at that button? Okay, here’s what we’ll do If you help me milk the cows, I’ll save some time. Then I’ll have a look at your button.

Here’s a bucket. Use it to milk the cows in the cowshed and return to me afterwards.

Objectives: Milk the cows in the cowshed and return to Martina Sunfield.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Dismount your horse to use the empty buckets to milk the cows, then return to Martina.

martina_sunfield

Thank you. So, let me have a look at that button.

Hmm… Nah, I don’t recognize it. Move it along now, I need to continue working. What do you mean, “unpleasant?” Listen, I actually don’t know anything about it! Do I have to spell it out for you?

Quest completed

______________

Might Loke Have Lost a Button?

filip_sunfield

You could ask my son Loke if the button is his… Listen, I’ve always tried to raise my children in the best possible way, but Loke is special. Sigh. His behavior worsens whatever I do. What I mean is, if you speak to him, don’t let his demeanor color your impression of this family.

Where is he? He usually avoids all sorts of work, but you’ll probably find him close to home if you search for him. If you find him, tell him to much the pigsty right away. I told him to do it hours ago!

Sigh.

Objectives: Ask Loke Sunfield if he knows something about the button.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Loke can be found bumming around the outside wall, near where you dropped the grain for Saga.

loke_sunfield

Yawn. Who are you? Don’t you see I’m busy?

Quest completed

______________

Grimy in the Pigsty

loke_sunfield

If I’ve lost a button? I never lose buttons or anything. I’m not a half-wit like you! Hehe.

What? You want to know what happened to the chickens last night?

Hmm… Yes, I know what happened. It was awful! But… Why should I tell you?

You really want to know, don’t you?

Hehe… Let’s see. Okay. I’ll tell you if you do me a favor. Take this shovel next to me and muck out the pigsty and I’ll tell you what I know. And don’t go lazy on me, that sludge should behave like a mirror when you’re done, otherwise I won’t tell you jack!

Now move it!

Objectives: Take the shovel next to Loke. Then muck out the pigsty and return to him when you’re done.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Pick up the shovel and you can either jump the fence with your horse or click the blue sparkles to open the gate. Dismount your horse to use the shovel. When you have shoveled all the manure, return to Loke.

loke_sunfield

You done mucking?

Good. I’ll tell you all I know.

…

Hehe…

You understand?

I said nothing, cause I know nothing! HA! You’re so gullible. Get lost!

Doesn’t Anyone Know Anything About the Button?

filip_sunfield

Nobody knew anything… I knew it. This is useless. I think I’ll just have to accept that the chickens are gone.

You don’t want to quit?

That’s the spirit!

However… I don’t know who else you could ask…

Actually, I guess you could talk to Freja, my youngest. She’s so young she barely knows what a chicken is, but if you want to give it a shot, go ahead.

She’s over there by the hammock.

Objectives: Speak to Freja Sunfield.

This button is so beautiful! Every time I see the coat it sits on I think: I want those buttons.

Whose coat?

Objectives: Speak to Filip Sunfield.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Finally, we have found the culprit. Tell Filip the news.

filip_sunfield

Hey there, how’s it going?

You know whose button it is?!

It belongs to Isolde? What?!

Quest completed

______________

An Unlikely Thief

filip_sunfield

What are you saying? It’s Isolde’s button? Isolde?! Oh no. She would never steal any chickens.

No Rita, you’re on the wrong track. Isolde would never do such a thing, she’s a conscientious girl.

If I know her? Well, she used to be here all the time before, but then she started to hang out with my son, Loke. Idun, her mother, put a stop to her visits here. She believed my son to be of “bad influence,” as she put it. Loke was devastated. Since then he’s become this bitter slacker who talks back and refuses to help around the farm.

I always liked Idun. She seemed like a good person, but in that case she went overboard if you ask me. Couldn’t she have spoken to Martina and myself first?

Now you know. But as I said, Isolde would never steal anything. Why don’t you ride over there and speak to her yourself? She lives on the Goldspur’s ground, on the other side of Jarlaheim. But trust me, she would never do such a thing.

Objectives: Ride to the Goldspur grounds and speak to Isolde Goldspur.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Isolde can be found on the lower mill, near the horse stables and Jakob.

isolde_goldspur

Hello and welcome to the Goldspur family!

Uuh… What now? Stealing chickens?! What?! No, not me… If I’ve been to the Sunfield farm? Er… No… Never! Or, not in a long time at least…

I’m innocent. I would never steal chickens. Or anything else for that matter! How dare you make such a claim!

No, I don’t want to speak to you anymore.

Quest completed

______________

Me? A Birdnapper?

isolde_goldspur

Wait a second! What is that?

Oh! My button!

Thank you! I’ve been looking for that all day! Such luck, I though I’d lost it forever. That was kind of you. Where did you find it?

Objectives: Speak to Isolde again.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

The evidence doesn’t lie…

isolde_goldspur

Uh… WHAT?! You found the button on the Sunfield farm?! How is that possible?! I didn’t wear that particular coat yesterday… Or… Ever…

You don’t believe me?! How dare you!

If you think I’ve been on the Sunfield farm, then prove it!

Grrr…

Quest completed

______________

Tristan’s Tale

tristan_goldspur

Chickens stolen from the Sunfield farm? How dare you accuse my sister Isolde of that! It was Loke! Why are you snooping around here? Loke did it! How did I know that?

Loke always does that sort of thing.

You found Isolde’s button by the chicken coop? Don’t you get it? Loke stole it and placed it by the chicken coop to blame Isolde. He’s both sneaky and nasty, that creep.

What?!

How I knew the button was found by the chicken coop?

Objectives: Speak to Tristan again.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Well… I never said where the button was found. You seem to have incriminated yourself, sir.

tristan_goldspur

Of course the button must have been by the chicken coop! That’s where Loke stole the chickens, you said so!

If the button belongs to Isolde as you’re claiming, it’s obvious he stole it to blame her. That boy’s so rotten, blaming my sister who’s the best and kindest. If I see him, then… Grrr.

Listen, if you still think Isolde did it, speak to my grandfather Jakob. He’ll vouch for her.

Quest completed

______________

Jakob’s Tale

jakob_goldspur

If Isolde would have stolen chickens on the Sunfield farm? Ho ho ho. No, that can’t be right. Isolde is always diligent and always follows the rules. She wouldn’t even steal a feather from a chicken.

When I saw her last? Early this morning, which is a little unusual, she’s never up that early. Isolde has many good qualities, but being an early bird is not one of them.

What she was doing at the time? She came riding on a horse she’d borrowed from the stable.

Where she’d been?

You’re all questions, aren’t you? I apologize, but I don’t have time to speak to you all day. You need to come back later.

It’s important? Well, so is this. I need to carry bags from the silo to one of our mills, otherwise they won’t have any seeds to grind.

You’ll help me if I tell you more? Hmm… My back isn’t what it used to be so that’d be lovely, actually. Okay, carry a bag to every mill on our grounds and I’ll answer your questions. That’s how it’s gonna be. Come back once you’re done.

Objectives: Take a bag from the silo and carry it to the lower mill. Then fetch another back and carry it to the upper mill on the Goldspur grounds. Return to Jakob.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Pick up a bag next to the stable and take it to the first mill. You can only carry one bag at a time and because they are heavy, your horse cannot go faster than a canter. When you have moved both bags, return to Jakob.

jakob_goldspur

Thank you. It was kind of you to help me. What was it that you wanted to know? Where Isolde has been when I saw her this morning?

She said she’d woken early and ridden to Greendale. I thought it to be a bit odd, since she came from the other direction, but today’s youth do all sorts of odd things so I didn’t give it any more thought.

Anything else I noticed? Hmm… Well, I wondered why she had taken the horse with that broken shoe. I haven’t had the time to replace it, but I’ve put up a notice by the horse’s stable booth saying not to ride it. I asked her how she could have missed it, but she just mumbled back and left hurriedly. I don’t always understand the ways of today’s youth, but that note was impossible to miss unless she’d been there during the night and there had been a power outage killing the lights. If that had been the case, I might have understood.

Oh well, I need to keep going. I hope my answers were of some help. Goodbye.

Quest completed

Now it’s time to find some clues to back up Jakob’s story. Search in front of the horse stables for the first clue.

A Clue on the Ground

self

What is this? Fresh horse tracks on the ground. Hmm… It seems a horse with a broken horseshoe has walked here recently.

What if it was the horse Isolde rode on last night? It must be! If I can locate the horse, maybe I can prove it’s been on the Sunfield farm?

Objectives: Look for a horse with a busted shoe on the Goldspur grounds.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Check each of the sale horses in the stable for the one with the broken shoe.

self

Hmm… That horse’s shoe looks broken.

Quest completed

______________

A Clue on the Horse

self

Hmm… Let me have a closer look at the broken horse shoe.

A leaf seems to be stuck to it. Hmm… Hold on…

Aha! On the Sunfield farm there is a large tree. This leaf could come from there. It must have been this horse Isolde rode last night.

If I can find tracks belonging to the broken shoe of this horse on the Sunfield farm, it will be conclusive evidence that someone from the Goldspur family was there.

I’ll ride out there at once! What if I’m right!

Objectives: Locate a track mark from a hoof with a broken shoe somewhere on the Sunfield Farm.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Ride to the Sunfield Farm and search all of the indicated areas for a track.

self

Look! This horseshoe print looks exactly like the one on Goldspur’s farm. It looks pretty recent as well.

Someone from Goldspur farm has been here, and not too long ago.

Quest completed

Ride up to the Goldspur house and speak to Isolde’s father, Angus, about what you have found.

Angus’s Tale

angus_goldspur

If Isolde was out last night and stole chickens at the Sunfield farm?

WHAT?!

Objectives: Speak to Angus again.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Can no one take an accusation with dignity?

angus_goldspur

What are you saying?! Outside in the dead of night despite her other and I strictly forbidding it?! And she’s stolen chickens! Have a nurtured a thief by my bosom?!

She’s grounded until she’s a hundred years old, just she wait!

What? You were just wondering? She’s not a thief?

What are you doing?! You come to my estate and accuse my daughter of being a chicken thief? Get lost!

I haven’t noticed anything. I sleep like a log during the night. Don’t ever come claiming my daughter is a thief, ever again. Do that and you’ll never be welcome here again.

Quest completed

______________

Idun’s Night

idun_goldspur

Was it you who made my husband so agitated just now? Don’t mind him, he’s known for his short fuse.

What did you ask him?

What? You said Isolde is a chicken thief?

Are you out of your mind?!

You were lucky. You probably caught him so off-guard that he didn’t really get whAt you said. If he’d been more alert, both you and your horse would have left faster than you can spell “bottle cap!”

If you have to ask stupid questions, you should have come to me first. Remember that, don’t speak to Angus about anything that will agitate him.

Of course Isolde hasn’t stolen any chickens! She always does what we tell her, and we have strictly forbidden her to be out at night and ever visiting that Sunfield farm ever again! That boy Loke and her are not to fraternize, and that’s that!

Why she can’t see Loke? That boy is bad news, a horrible influence. How I know? My son Tristan has told me about him. He always skips work, steals stuff, lies, and is unpleasant towards his parents. A person like that is not to socialize with my daughter. If I’m sure? Shouldn’t I trust my own son?

Tristan, tell lies?!

You…

How dare you…

Beware, little girl! Beware the wrath of Goldspur!

Grr…

Okay… I’ll calm down. You don’t know us, so you don’t quite understand what your claiming about us… I believe we’ve reached a point where words alone are insufficient for building confidence between us. If you want our help, you’ll have to help us. Weed out one of our fields and we’ll talk later. Do it so that I know you’re not only here to spread discontent. I need a couple of minutes to calm down as well…

Do not return until you’ve removed all the weeds on the field.

Objectives: Remove all weeds growing on Goldspur’s field. Return to Idun afterwards.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride down to the hay field between the house and the mill. Remove all of the weeds in the field and return to Idun when you are finished. The weeds may be hard to see through the hay plants, so take it slow, rotate your camera, and use the mini map to help guide you.

idun_goldspur

So all the weeds are gone now? Good.

If I understand you correctly, some chickens have been stolen from the Sunfield farm last night. Why do you think Isolde is the one who did it? Her button was found on the ground next to the chicken coop?

That was odd…

She would never do such a thing, but I guess we’ll have to get to the bottom of this. Just don’t agitate Angus again…

I don’t think Isolde is the culprit, but…

Hmm…

Maybe the twins know something about this button? They start to giggle every time I get near and tell me they have a secret about Isolde they don’t want to share. I’ve asked them, but they just run away, choking with giggles.

If you can get the secret out of them, you might learn something that can explain all of this.

First, Hide and Seek

hannibel_goldspur

Hi!

Who are you?

Rita

Rita, Rita, nah nah nah nah nah nah!

Ha ha ha.

Rita, do you want to play hide and seek? It’s the best game ever!

Huh?You want to know our secret? What secret?

Our secret about Isolde? Ha ha!

We know something you don’t! But we won’t tell you, nah nah nah!

We’ve promised not telling mom and dad.

You’re not mom and dad? Oh… That’s true…

Okay! If you want to know, you’ll have to find us first. Count to one hundred before you start looking. No cheating!

Ha ha! You’ll never find us!

Objectives: Find the twins hiding on the Goldspur grounds.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The twins can be found in several places from the mill near the house, to the stone fence by the horse pasture, middle of the sunflower field, near the G.E.D. base, as well as in or behind the cow barn, and up in the attic of the building next to the cow barn.

When you start to near one of their hiding places, the screen will tell you are getting warm, then hot, when you get very near him. Find both twins, then return to the place where you started the game.

hannibel_goldspur

You found us so quickly. We never thought you’d make it! Want to play more?

No? Tell you what we saw last night?

Hush… It’s a secret…

We saw her!

Who?

Isolde, of course! She climbed out her bedroom window last nigh, she does it a lot! We’ve promised not to tell mom and dad. But you’re not mom or dad, so that makes it alright! Ha ha!

Where her bedroom is? Over there, by the other house! Come back if you want to play more, you were such fun. Bye bye lemon pie!

Quest completed

Let’s go and investigate by Isolde’s room by the house.

self

Hmm… What is this? It looks like fresh boot marks in the flower bed. It leads both to and from the window, as if someone jumped out of it, was gone for a while, then returned.

The tracks are deep. Whoever made them might still have soil underneath their boots…

That should be enough investigating to interrogate the suspect. Speak to Isolde down at the Goldspur Mill.

Prove It!

isolde_goldspur

So, let’s see if you are any smart. Prove it was me who stole those chickens!

Objectives: Prove Isolde was on the Sunfield farm last night.

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Present the facts that you have discovered from your investigation. We know for sure:

  • The twins saw Isolde sneak out last night.
  • The boot prints below the window prove so.
  • Jakob saw her riding in on a horse with a broken shoe.
  • The broken shoe print was found on the Sunfield farm.

isolde_goldspur

Okay! OKAY! I admit it.

It’s true.

I was on the Sunfield farm last night. But I didn’t steal any chickens! It was to see Loke. My mother has forbidden me to see him, but we can’t bear to be apart. That’s why I sneak away at nights to see him in secret.

So… Now you know.

Quest completed

______________

If It Wasn’t Isolde…

isolde_goldspur

But who could have stolen the chickens? And why was my button by the chicken coop? I was never near it last night…

Objectives: Speak to Tristan.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP, Emerald Green Arena Boots

Maybe Tristan knows something… He sure seems suspicious…

tristan_goldspur

Isolde. What happened is clear as day. Loke stole the chickens. He took your button without you noticing and placed it by the chicken to let everybody believe you’re the thief.

I’ve told you, that boy is no good. He’s a misfortune and he’s used you to get away with theft.

Sigh. You know I’m telling the truth. It’s no use talking about it, just you stay here with your family, and let’s forget he ever existed. That’s the smart thing to do.

Quest completed

______________

Loke Would Never Do Such a Thing

isolde_goldspur

No! I don’t believe you! Loke would never do that to me!

We love each other! He’s not a bad person at all! Everybody just blames him once something bad happens, but he’s super nice, really! I know he’s unpleasant towards everyone, but he’s not a thief! He’s just acting that way because everyone’s been so rotten. Why won’t anyone understand!

I need to speak to him! I need to hear it from his own lips. I must ride there!

Objectives: Speak to Tristan.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Away she goes…

tristan_goldspur

Isolde! Wait up!

Quest completed

______________

Keeping Isolde From Speaking to the Thief

tristan_goldspur

You. You need to stop Isolde!

Catch up with her and stop her before she can reach the Sunfield farm. If she speaks to Loke, he might trick her into doing something stupid to get away with his crime. You must keep her from speaking to him. She is not to speak to that boy!

Hurry!

Objectives: Speak to Isolde before she speaks to Loke.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Catch up with Isolde outside the front of the Sunfield farm.

isolde_goldspur

Hello Rita.

…

I just spoke to Saga.

…

She told me Loke just admitted to Filip that he stole the chickens. How could he do that to me?! I love him so! How can I continue living on after this?

Quest completed

______________

Isolde Rides Home

isolde_goldspur

How could he have done this to me! He’s been playing me all along!!!

Tristan is right! Loke’s a wretched, good-for-nothing who just cheats and tricks people all the time. I feel so stupid.

I’m going back Rita, there is nothing left for me at the Sunfield farm.

Tell Loke we’re over, and that I’ll never want to see him again!

Objectives: Tell Loke that Isolde is breaking up.

Rewards: 150 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Yet again, we get to be the bringer of bad news…

loke_sunfield

Yes! It was me who stole the chickens! Isolde had nothing to do with it! It was just me!

I don’t want to speak any more. Go away!!

What? Why I placed her button on the ground? What was it about the button? It belonged to Isolde? What? It was her button?!

I don’t understand… What do you really want?

Isolde is breaking up with me? But… I did it for her… Oh no…

…

Why are you still here?! GO! Let me pine in peace!! Everything is your fault!

Quest completed

Return to Filip Sunfield tomorrow.

The Guardian of Jarlaheim

jill_goldspur

Rita. One of the city residents have requested assistance from the Town Hall. We’re unable to help him, but if you have the time, I’d be very grateful for your help. You do have time? Excellent! Ride and to the city guard. He won’t disclose what’s happened over the phone, so I’m assuming it’s something sensitive. A certain amount of discretion may be advisable. So long, and good luck. Objectives: Ride and speak to the city watch. Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP Reputation: 5 with Jarlaheim

Speak to the city guard, named Gavin, who is located at the house around the corner from Town Hall.

gavin

Who are you? You’re here to help me? Oh, that was kind of you! Quest completed

______________

Who Guards the Guard?

gavin

Uhm… What was your name again? Rita! That’s a nice name! Well, you see Rita, a terrible crime has been committed! Someone has stolen my keys! Anyone in possession of those keys can open every nook and cranny in the city. Help me find the thief! We have to find him and punish him! Myself, I suspect that Ms Drake, she seems like scum… Or maybe Jack, he seems like scum too… Or maybe Jill, or the vet, or Herman? It could be anyone! It’s terrible! Uh… If maybe I lost them? Well, I guess there is a microscopic chance… Where have I been today? First I went for breakfast at the cafe, then I was in the park by the beach house, later back at the cafe for lunch, then I spoke a bit with the store staff in the square, later it was afternoon tea, and then I noticed that the keys were missing! You’ll look for them? Thanks. I’ll search here and you can see if you can find them someplace else. Objectives: Find the guard’s keys somewhere in Jarlaheim. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP Reputation: 25 with Jarlaheim

Search the areas indicated on your map to find the keys. When you discover them, return to Gavin to give the keys back to him.

gavin

Keys? There’s my keys! Why do you have my keys? I’d lost them? Oh. It was nice of you to return them to me. Who are you by the way? Rita! What a lovely name! I should get back to work, I’ve spent my entire day looking for my keys. How do I make time for everything? (You’re thinking the city guard needs all the help he can get Being this confused, it’s a wonder he remembers how to breathe without anyone reminding him.) Quest completed

______________

Inspect the Wall

gavin

You want to help me? How nice of you! Well. One thing I need help doing is to inspect the old ring wall going around the city. Have you seen it? You have? Well, it’s not so hard to spot, that’s true. In any case, it’s old and it’s not uncommon for stones to come lose or parts of the wall crumbling down. Take these warning signs and see if you find any lose stones on top of the wall. Place a sign if you do and I’ll come after and repair the wall. You have to ride along the top of the wall, got it? Objectives: Mark the places on top of the wall which are broken with the signs the guard gave you. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 15 with Jarlaheim

There is a ramp behind you, next to Town Hall. There are other ramps around town as well. Go up the ramp and ride along the wall and place all of the signs. When you are done, return to Gavin.

gavin

Placed out signs? What signs? Oh. You’ve marked where the wall is broken, very good! Then I know where to fix it! How clever of you to come up with that. Quest completed

______________

The City Gates

gavin

Well… What was I thinking… …Uhm… What are you doing here, by the way? You want to help me again? Very good! One matter I need help with is checking if the city gates work as they should. Not that it’s needed much, but we should be able to lock the city gates when needed. So, what I need you to do is… Eh… What was it again?  Check locks? You should check the locks on the gates, what a great idea! That would be of great help. Here, take my keys and see if the lock works.  Objectives: Use the keys to control if the city gate locks works. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 15 with Jarlaheim

Ride around to each of the gates, and use the key in your inventory to test the locks. When you have checked all of the locks, return to Gavin.

gavin

Hello there! Why do you have my keys? Have you stolen them? You’ve been checking the locks on the gates? I’ve no recollection of that.. Are you sure? It was kind of you. Did they work? However, next time you want to help me with the gates you should ask to borrow the keys first. I get super nervous when you just snitch them like that. Quest completed

______________

City in Light

gavin

Listen, Lisa, could you help me with something? Rita? Who is that? Oh! That’s you! I’m sorry, I thought you were Lisa. You look so similar to her, you see. I wonder where she went? Anyway! As you might have seen, the entire city is illuminated by nice lights. Unfortunately, they’re of horrendous quality. Not that anyone notices, but I’m replacing broken lights every day.  Here’s a bag with some new bulbs. Replace all broken light bulbs you can find in the city. Objectives: Change all the broken light bulbs in the city. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 15 with Jarlaheim

Ride around and find the flickering lights and use the new bulbs in your inventory. When you have replaced all of the broken lights, return to Gavin.

gavin

Hi. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to talk right now. I’m just about to change all the broken lights in the city. You see, they break all the time. What? You’ve just replaced all the broken lights? Gosh golly, how nice of you! Quest completed

______________

The Road to Devil’s Gap

gavin

Now, there isn’t much left to do today. That’s too bad. Why is it bad? Well, you see Linda… What? Your name isn’t Linda? Oh, that’s right. You don’t have the same glasses… Rita! Yes, that was it.  Anyway, if everything is done for the day, the only remaining task is the scary one, to inspect the gate to Devil’s Gap. That gate must always stay closed. Why? Oh, believe me, Rita, you don’t want to know… You don’t want to know…  Unlock the city gate leading to Devil’s Gap and inspect the iron gate in the wall behind it. Make sure it’s locked and barred. If anything seems off, come right back at once! Objectives: Open the city gate that leads to the road towards Devil’s Gap and inspect the giant iron gate leading into Devil’s Gap. Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP, Guard Saddle Reputation: 40 with Jarlaheim

Ride to the north end of town and open the gate at the top of the steps. Go through the doorway and inspect the parts of the gate to Devil’s Gap. Don’t get distracted by the creepiness. When you are done, return to Gavin.

gavin

The Devil’s Gap Gate? Never open it! You’ve inspected it? Did everything look alright? How wonderful! Thank you! Know what, here’s a saddle I’ve saved. Come back whenever you want, I often have errands I need help with. Quest completed

You can now do daily tasks for Gavin to raise your reputation with Jarlaheim.

Return to Jill tomorrow.

Stein, at Jorvik Stables, has decided that you are trustworthy. Go speak to him about seeing Herman.

Herman on Vacation

stein

Listen, Rita. It feels like we’ve become fast friends since you started working here. I promised Herman not to say anything… But I trust you and if you really want to meet him, I’ll tell you where he is. He’s not far off on vacation, only a few meters away actually. He never went on vacation, he’s been hiding in his house to get away from Jack and be alone with some new project of his. I know, pretty clever, or what!? He’ll open the door if you do a secret knock on the door. Do like this. Knock like this, three times. Correct, you got it. Do as I’ve told you and Herman will surely open the door. Objectives: Knock on the door of Herman’s house. Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP Reputation: 25 with Jorvik Stables

Dismount your horse in front of Herman’s house and approach the door to perform the secret knock.

herman

Stein, what is it? Hmm… Who are you? How come you know the secret knock? Quest completed

______________

Can You Be Trusted?

herman

So Stein eventually told you where to find me. Oh well, I guess it was unavoidable. What do you want? Sigh… Take over Jack’s job as mayor? I neither want or have the time to be mayor. The three major families in the county should be able to handle this themselves. I’m doing much too important work myself, you see. Everything isn’t what it appears to be. The G.E.D. has something big and sinister going on… Wait… We cannot speak here. You never know who might be listening… Come inside and I’ll tell you more.  Objectives: Go inside the house and speak to Herman again. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 10 with Jorvik Shillings

Click on the blue sparkles in front of the door to go inside.

herman

Can I trust you? I think so… It feels like you possess a special force. A force that I recognize. Alright, I’ll go with my gut feeling and trust you. You see, I need help moving forward with a mystery I’m trying to solve. Where did Mayor Evelyn go? There are many sinister things going on in the Harvest Counties these days, Rita. G.E.D. is in the middle of some big secret project, you might have seen them collecting samples around here? And they’re involved in Mayor Evelyn’s disappearance, I’m certain. Everything is connected, but I have no proof. Here is where you come in. Quest completed

______________

A Dour Employment

herman

This is how it is, Rita. G.E.D. has somehow been allowed to search for minerals all around Jarlaheim. How they got permission, I don’t know, but there is no way they’ve obtained it legitimately. There’s some funny business going on, most definitely. And they’re behind the disappearance of Mayor Evelyn as well, though I’m not yet sure how. G.E.D’s head in Jarlaheim, a certain Ms Drake, is extremely suspicious of me and avoids me like the plague. But she doesn’t know you. Get my drift? If you, whom she doesn’t know, could win her confidence, you would certainly be able to find out what they’re doing around here. Would you help me find out what G.E.D. is doing here in the Harvest Counties? What are they really up to, and are they behind Evelyn’s disappearance? You’ll do it? Good! Ride off and speak to Ms Drake and see if you can get employment with her. Good luck! Objectives: Ride and speak to Ms Drake in Jarlaheim. Reward: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP Reputation: 10 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Ms Drake is near the front door on the back side of the building, located by the north entrance of the city.

ms_drake

Employment here? You? HA HA HA! Quest completed

______________

Do You Have What It Takes?

ms_drake

Heh, wait. Let me just wipe off the tears. You would like to work for us? Please, we don’t hire wimps. At our company you need to be fierce and merciless to get a job. What? You are fierce and merciless? Would you be willing to betray your friends for a raise? Fraud senior citizens of their last dime for a higher bonus? Level a nature reserve to the ground for a free lunch? You would?! Hmm… I did all that when I was about your age… Maybe you’re just the one I’m looking for. Okay, you’ll be undertaking the G.E.D’s standardized employment test. If you succeed, you’ll get a probationary position here. We’re starting now, are you ready? Objectives: Answer the questions. Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP, G.E.D. Top, G.E.D. Skirt Reputation: 50 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

To pass the test, select the most awful answer that is given to you, even if it hurts a little to say you would do it. The objective is to appeal for this devil of a woman. Show no mercy…

ms_drake

Wow! You got a perfect score. I’ve never met a more sinister and ruthless person than you, Rita… Can it really be true? … Congrats! That was really perfect! I’ll teach you all I know. But if you betray me, I will hunt you to the ends of the world. Do not forget… No one fools Ms Drake and gets away with it. Put on these clothes. You need to look professional working for the G.E.D. And since you’re in your probation period, we won’t be giving you any pay. But that goes without saying. Quest completed

______________

Personnel Inspection

ms_drake

We must always ensure that our workers are doing their job. Anyone who doesn’t, is fired directly. So, ride off to Exploration Station Alpha and make sure everyone is working as they should and report back to me afterwards. If you find someone lounging, relaxing, eating lunch, or using the restroom, I’ll teach you the best firing techniques! Hah! It’s the best thing I know. No one can make people cry like me. Objectives: Inspect the workers at the Exploration Station. Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP Reputation: 25 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Ride to the site marked on your map, south of the Jorvik Stables. To inspect the workers, simply ride close to them. When you have inspected all of the workers, return to Ms Drake.

ms_drake

You’re back. Report. Everyone was working as they should. That was too bad, I was really looking forward to firing someone today. Quest completed

______________

Message to the Supervisor

ms_drake

As you understand, our operation here in Jarlaheim isn’t entirely successful. We must do everything we can to get results. Take this extremely threatening letter I’ve composed to our supervisor at Exploration Station Alpha. After he’s read it, I guarantee he’ll work harder so he won’t get fired. Ha ha, he’ll push his staff even harder than himself, too. I love starting this kind of chain reaction. It’s fortunate that the G.E.D. doesn’t have a health plan for their employees, then we’d have to pay millions for damages, as we’re pushing them harder than anyone else.  Sob. It’s so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes. Objectives: Give the letter to the supervisor at the Exploration Station. Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 25 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Find the supervisor standing near the small office hut on the site.

ged_worker

What do you want?! A letter from Ms Drake? Gulp. … Report to her that we’ll work even harder! She doesn’t need to worry, she can trust me! And listen… If I should get fired, can you try to get her to change her mind? She doesn’t need to make use of her contacts to expel my kids from school as well! Quest completed

______________

Mineral Collection

ms_drake

Our exploration hasn’t yielded any results yet, Rita. We need to find some valuable minerals or metals soon, or I’ll get fired by management. And remember, if I’m fired, you’re fired as well! The management is merciless. If they fire me, mine and every other G.E.D. worker’s lives are destroyed forever. There isn’t a more heartless bunch than the G.E.D’s management.  I respect them tremendously. Ride off to Exploration Station Alpha and prospect some mineral samples from the stones that the workers have exposed. (You think it best that Herman gets the mineral samples once you find them instead of Ms Drake.) Objectives: Prospect minerals at the Exploration Station. Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP Reputation: 25 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Dismount your horse near the exposed stones and use the pickaxe from your inventory to harvest mineral samples. When you have excavated the three stones in the area, take the samples to Herman, inside his house.

herman

Rita, have you discovered anything? They’re looking for valuable minerals but haven’t found any yet. Hmm… Ha! I have an idea. Quest completed

______________

Counterfeit Mineral Results

herman

Now we’ll deceive Ms Drake properly! We do it like this. Let me swap these samples with the gravel from the stable’s gravel path. I guarantee these pebbles are worthless. Bring these to Ms Drake instead and see what she says, he he. Objectives: Bring the counterfeit mineral samples to Ms Drake. Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP Reputation: 25 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

Take the pebbles to Ms Drake and pass them off as the samples from the Exploration Station. That will show her!

ms_drake

Do you have the mineral samples? Good. I’ll send them for analyzing at our lab. Let’s hope we’ve found something, the management is starting to lose their patience… Quest completed

______________

An Evil Seed is Sown

ms_drake

So, Rita. How do you like it here at the G.E.D? Is your dark heart’s hunger satisfied by the misery that you’re spreading? It’s wonderful! You really have potential. I’d like to make you my personal assistant, but you’re too inexperienced. If you continue to work and make the errands I’m asking you to, I can probably give you a promotion soon. Work hard! I like you, but I’ll gladly ruin your life if you betray me. You can start by fetching me a cup of coffee from Stablebucks Cafe. Objectives: Fetch a cup of coffee for Ms Drake at the Stablebucks Cafe. Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP Reputation: 5 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

The cafe is located outside the city, on the southeast side. Ride out either the east or the south gates and follow the road outside of the city.

catherine

Coffee for Ms Drake?! Gulp! Wait, I’ll get it at once! Ooooohhhh, concentrate! I must make it precisely as she wants it, get it? Otherwise, she’s promised to tear the cafe to the ground and construct a landfill here instead. Do not disturb me! Quest complete

______________

Black Coffee for a Black Heart

catherine

Here’s Ms Drake’s coffee! It’s completely black, without sugar or milk, precisely like she wants it. Hurry back to her! Objectives: Ride back to Ms Drake with the coffee. Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP Reputation: 20 with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office

I’m pretty sure city zoning laws would prevent construction of a landfill so close to the water, but she has plenty other reasons to fear Ms Drake…

ms_drake

Let me taste the coffee. Quite bitter with a burned aftertaste. Perfect. Rita. I’m going to give you errands to run every day from now on. Make them and show some diligence, and I might promote you to be my personal assistant. I really need a new one, my old one forgot I’m not using milk in my coffee so I was forced to fire him and banish his entire family from their family farm. Ha ha, good times! Remember that, Rita. I want my coffee as my heart. Black. Quest completed

From now on you can complete daily quests of inspecting the personnel, delivering a letter, and prospecting minerals from Ms Drake to raise your reputation with her.

Return to Ms Drake when you are Friendly with G.E.D. Jarlaheim Office.

Felicity has finished fixing the chicken wire for you. Go see her in Firgrove.

Felicity’s Chicken Net

felicity

Hello Rita! Now the chicken wire is ready! You can ride down to the chicken coop and see if it fits!

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Ride down to the chicken coop and put the wire on it. You have to be dismounted to use the chicken wire.

Speak with Andy when you are finished.

andy

Well done, Rita. The chicken coop is really nice. Now we only need some chickens…

Quest completed

______________

Catch Some Chickens

andy

I have an idea. I know there are chickens in this forest, wild chickens. They are very shy so it won’t be easy to get them here. I have prepared a bag with chicken feed. If you sprinkle some in front of the forest, maybe they will come out to us eventually.

Objectives: Ride out in the forest and spread out the chicken feed.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The spots for you to put the chicken feed are marked in orange on your map. There are three areas to put it down.

Return to Andy when you are finished.

andy

Did you put out three small piles? That sounds good. I’m so excited to see if the chickens will come.

Quest completed

______________

Hay While Waiting for the Chickens

andy

I guess we have to wait for a while before the chickens dare to come out. We can make it more cozy in the chicken coop while we wait! I think the chickens would like some fresh hay to sleep on. Can you ride to Felicity and ask her for some hay from the stable?

Objectives: Ride to Felicity in Firgrove and ask if you may have some hay.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation 15 with Firgrove

Hey, you want some hay? Well, of course you may.

Go back to Felicity and ask her to lend you some hay.

felicity

I’m glad to hear that the net fit! Now you want some hay for the chicken coop. Of course I can fix that for you!

Quest completed

______________

Make the Chicken Coop Cozy More Cozy With Hay

felicity

You can take some hay from the bale over there. Ride down to your chicken coop and lay it on the floor so it’s fresh and smells good when the chickens come. Good luck!

Objectives: Take some hay, put it in the chicken coop and talk to Andy.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Go back to the chicken coop and put the hay inside the wire.

Speak with Andy when you are done.

andy

The hay smells so good! I wonder if the chickens have come out yet?

Quest completed

______________

Catch Chickens

andy

I thought I saw something white among the trees where you sprinkled the chicken feed. Maybe it’s some chickens! I think you will have to dismount from your horse when you pick them up so you don’t frighten them away. Do you remember where you sprinkled the food? After you catch the chickens you can let them out in the chicken coop.

Objectives: Catch all chickens where you sprinkled the chicken feed and let them out into the chicken coop. Talk to Andy when you’re done.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

For some reason, picking up a chicken, then putting it into the chicken coop, each count as an action. There are three chickens to pick up, then putting the three chickens in the coop, that’s six actions.

Speak to Andy when you are done.

andy

Such gorgeous chickens! Grandma will be really happy now! I think the chickens will enjoy having a house of their own. It will be much nicer than in the forest with all those predators.

Quest completed

Return to Andy tomorrow.

Will has started a new race up around his windmill.

Try the Windmill Race

mr_andersson

Hello Rita! You know what? I have a sneaking suspicion that you love to compete with Summerblaze. Am I right? I knew it!

A long time ago there used to be a race trail around the windmill here. The track is still there even if it is hard to see. Do you think you can do as well as the old masters did on this track? You think you can? You certainly are confident, that’s a good thing. But this is a tough track so don’t think for a second this will be an easy victory for you.

Get ready to go and I will get your time!

Good luck!

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Ride the windmill track through, and speak with Will when you are done.

mr_andersson

Wow. That was a great ride Rita. It certainly is a joy to watch a master rider like you flow through the track.

If you want to try again just let me know. See you!

Quest completed

You can now do this race daily.

Now let’s get to the story! Go see Linda at the Winery. Alex has returned.

Alex Returns

linda

Hi there! Great news! As you can see, Alex is back!

Objectives: Talk to Alex.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will be happy to see you again.

alex

Nice to see you again, my friends. It’s been a long journey and unfortunately, it was pretty unsuccessful.

Alex Says

alex

Both Lisa and Anne have been traveling the world. Lisa toured with her rock band and have done great concerts all over the world. But people say that some time ago, when the tour was over, she returned to the Jorvik stables, picked up Starshine and rode away… Since then, no one has seen her. But we believe that she is somewhere here on Jorvik.

Objectives: Listen to Alex.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you more.

alex

Anne was a successful dressage competitor. Suddenly one day she disappeared during a competition in France. There’s not a single clue of where she went. She’s disappeared without a trace. This was almost two years ago and not a peep has been heard from her.

The next step will probably be to try and find Lisa. She’s probably the only one we have chance of finding. When we know more about where Justin could be, we’ll search for him too…

Call for a Council

alex

The Druids, Keepers of Aideen, have called a council meeting. They’ve announced that they want you to attend, Rita. However, I don’t know how you can get there, because it’s a very special place. Linda and I will get there our own way but you need to talk to Elizabeth in Valedale. Shecan transfer outsiders to the Secret Stonering where the meeting will take place.

Objectives: Ride to Valedale and talk to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 65 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth will be able to help you. Go see her at her house in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

It’s great that you could come. I’ll teach you how to go to the druid’s meeting without having the special attributes as a druid or Soulrider has.

Quest completed

______________

Council in the Secret Stonering

elizabeth_sunbeam

The path behind my house leads to the four rune stones. Continue past them. There, you’ll find a spiral path surrounded by other rune marked stones. Be sure to ride in a clockwise spiral along the path until the Portal opens in the middle. Ride into the portal and you’ll travel to the Secret Stonering and meet the druid Council there.

Listen to the Council, ask your questions and talk to me back here again when the meeting is finished. Keep it a secret how to travel there, please.

Objectives: Participate in the council. Travel there by following the spiral path. It’s beyond the runestones, behind and above Elizabeth’s house. Talk to Elizabeth afterwards.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 140 XP

Reputation: 300 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow Elizabeth’s instructions.

You must stay on the path, all the way to the center of the spiral. When you reach the center you will be automatically transported to the Secret Stonering. Once there, approach the Council to begin the meeting. You must ask all of the questions given to you before you are able to leave.

______________

fripp

We are the Keepers of Aideen. We greet you, newcomer. I am Fripp.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Druids and Soulriders, we are gathered here today for an extra council. Especially welcome our newcomer. This is Rita and she’s the one I told you about.

***

fripp

Well done, honorable Sunbeam.

Rita, it’s so sad that we have to meet under these circumstances when tie is short and the cold fingers of the darkness reaches for us. But we wouldn’t have summoned you if it wasn’t important.

***

faceless_druid

She’s not ready. She’s too inexperienced. As far as I know she’s not even able to talk to her horse yet, is she?

You should know that I was against this from the very beginning, I…

***

fripp

Quiet! If we could get hold of all four Soulriders we wouldn’t need to do this, but Elizabeth Sunbeam assures that Rita is of the right kind and has the best qualifications to be a legendary Soulrider. Actually, better than anyone in a long time. Tell us, Elizabeth.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Thank you, Fripp. I’ve told you that she passed the “test.” You know, the first test where you can see which of the four powers you belong to by activating your power’s runestone. To keep the secret, I’ve only told Fripp about what really happened, until now…

***

faceless_druid

Get to the point, druid. I’m not convinced yet.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

She activated all four runestones.

***

faceless_druid

:O

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Rita possesses all four powers. As you all know, it’s been more than a hundred years since this happened the last time. This innocent little girl has the potential to be the strongest Soulrider of them a in modern times! Maybe the strongest ever… But enough about that. She needs training and experience but we don’t have the luxury of time now.

***

faceless_druid

But she doesn’t have any training.

***

alex

Mmm… We didn’t have any training when it started for us…

***

fripp

True, true. We’re done with this now, and I assume that no one questions her participation here any more? … Good… We have much more important things to talk about so we have to do the best we can and have time for regarding training of Rita when the opportunity arises.

Let’s summarize the situation. We know that Jorvik once more is being threatened by the great Darkness, the one called “Garnok.” We tell be the illegal and dark magic which has started haunting the neighborhood in a lot of different ways. Even our perceptive Rita has noticed this.

That’s why it’s time to perform the Light ceremony so we can stop Garnok for now, but it’s not that easy…

Alex and Linda are two of the four Soulriders we can get hold of. Lisa and Anne have disappeared. Rita can probably replace one of them but we have to continue our search for Lisa or Anne because we need four Soulriders for the ceremony and that’s how it was even before the Lost Book of Ceremonies disappeared…

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Well summarized master Fripp. So far Garnok is not that strong, but we’ve noticed that there seems to be a lot of strange characters out there who are interested in what we do and they’re curious about the dangerous side effects that will appear when Garnok gets stronger. We also have to focus on finding and identifying our enemies before they grow too strong…

***

faceless_druid

Well, the time has come. We’ll spread the word to all druids in Jorvik. We’ll tell them that it’s time for the ceremony again. The primary goal for all of us is to find at least one of the disappeared Soulriders. Let’s call a meeting again soon, when we have more information to share.

***

fripp

Thank you all for coming on such short notice and thank you Rita. I hope you’ll accept a membership when the time is right. Please stay and ask some questions, if you want. We’ll answer the as best we can.

***

What are the Keepers of Aideen?

fripp

We’re a group of druids who’ve been on this island since the dawn of time. We acted more in secrecy in the past, but today a lot of people know about our existence, even though our real purpose is a well kept secret. For now, I can’t tell you the innermost secret about our real purpose but without hiding anything I can tell you that our main task is to protect Jorvik from Garnok – the dark force – so it won’t grow stronger and take over the world.

***

What Can a Keeper of Aideen Do?

faceless_druid

We do what we always have done, since the dawn of time. Every time we notice that Garnok is gaining more power we gather the four Soulriders through a ceremony described in the Lost Book of Ceremonies. That ceremony can prevent Garnok from spreading out and we can push it back, at least for a while. We can never permanently stop Garnok, but so far we’ve managed to stop it from poisoning our world with its malevolence. Garnok is unpredictable and can be active anything between once a year to slumbering for decades. During the thousands of years we have existed we have not failed yet…

***

What’s a Soulrider?

elizabeth_sunbeam

There is always at least four Soulriders. It’s always a special girl who like you has a unique bond to her horse. A horse whose soul is one with the island of Jorvik’s essence… Soulriders are rare nowadays and we have problems finding new ones. We hope that one day, you will become a Soulrider and help us in the struggle against Garnok and others who work against us…

***

What Do We Know About Lisa and Anne?

alex

I can tell you all I know about Lisa. After her success in the Star Academy school on Jorvik I was told that Lisa went on a tour with her rock band for a couple of years. It wasn’t easy contacting her during this time. I’ve traveled and searched for her without any luck The tour is now over and people say that she’s on vacation. But Herman in the Jorvik Stable had news. He says that she’s been in the stable and taken her horse, Starshine, out for a ride. This was a couple of weeks ago and after that, it seems she disappeared without a trace. But we think she is still somewhere on Jorvik.

Linda, can you tell us what we know about Anne?

***

linda

I have made inquiries about Anne but always come to dead-ends. Anne was a very successful dressage competitor and traveled around to compete and to show her skills. One day, about two years ago, during a competition in France, the speaker called her name but she didn’t show up. The audience was disappointed and wondered what could’ve happened. No one’s seen her since that day. There is no trace of Anne or her horse, Concorde.

Unfortunately, that’s all I know.

***

What’s This Place?

fripp

The Secret Stonering is a place like no other. Time and space work in different ways in here, compared to the rest of the world. We, the Keepers of Aideen, have the ability to travel here from different places on Jorvik when we hold council meetings. You can always return to this place and due to its special nature you can eet us here again – not yet then. I hope you understand.

***

Who Are Against the Druids?

fripp

Dark Core, controlled by Mr Sands, is one of our most dangerous enemies. Thank goodness you realized that Mr Sands is active on this island again so we can be ready to act when they show themselves. Dark Core claims to be a multinational company with the same interests as G.E.D. But we think that Mr Sands is looking for a way to control Garnok and use that powerful force to take over the world. We don’t think that’s possible and the ony thing he’ll be able to do is to destroy our world when he tries.

We have more people who want to stop us, or have their own agendas regarding Garnok. So be careful out there! We have to identify what they want and what they’re doing. There are more stakeholders involved than ever before and Garnok isn’t even that strong yet…

***

What Does Justin Have to Do With This?

elizabeth_sunbeam

As you proved, Justin is unfortunately Mr Sands’ grandson. It’s clear that Mr Sands has a purpose for him and that he has something big going on since he doesn’t dare show his ugly face here again. We should invest some time and energy to find the poor boy. Not only to save him from Mr Sands, but also to be able to stop Mr Sands’ plans and maybe get some information about what exactly they are from Justin.

***

What is the Book of Ceremonies?

fripp

Funny that you ask that. The book is used at the ceremony to prevent Garnok from growing in strength and to temporarily chase him away. Unfortunately the book has been lost for a couple hundred years and that’s why we call it the – Lost – Book of Ceremonies. Though, we’ve been careful and made a copy of some of the most important chapters and the four parts of that copy is spread out between us druids. One day we hope to find the book because it will make the ceremony more powerful and it contains secrets written by ancient druids which we have forgotten or don’t know the meaning of today.

The last time we acted against Garnok, circumstances made our Soulriders do it in a different way…

***

alex

Right… That’s a mild way of putting it on.

***

What Do We Do Now?

fripp

You can return here whenever you want to ask us questions again. When time has come we will give you some tasks. You have to be patient and wait until we have the right task, right training and a teacher for you. We think of time differently and in your world you may think that time is slow. For us it is a bit… different. So we ask you to be patient.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Besides learning how to be a Soulrider – if you will accept our offer to be that – we hope you want to keep looking for Justin, Lisa, and Anne. You also have to look for and try to identify which new enemies we have out there. As soon as we have a suitable task for you, we’ll let you know, Rita. We need you!

***

Thanks, I Don’t Have Any More Questions for Now.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Ok, Rita. You know that you can return to this place they same way I showed you, if you have any more questions. See you in Valedale. Talk to me when we meet there.

***

fripp

Return and wait! We will contact you soon. See you Rita, thanks for coming here!

elizabeth_sunbeam

Welcome back, Rita. That went well, didn’t it?

Follow Up

elizabeth_sunbeam

Now you know more about how things work. If you need to, you can return in time and space to this meeting and ask us questions again. You can always use the secret path, which will take you to the Stonering. But keep it a secret, ok?

Objectives: Talk to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 60 with Keepers of Aideen

Speak with Elizabeth more about the meeting.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Good, Rita. Your adventure will soon continue and I’ll also try to teach you how to use your powers so you too can be a Soulrider. Good luck, we will contact you again!

Quest completed

Alex needs your help now. Go see her at the Winery.

There’s quite a bit of continuity errors in these next quests, but for the time being, let’s just go with it. Silly game writers, you can’t keep your facts straight! 😉

My Dear Little Pony

alex

Rita, I’m only borrowing this old horse because my horse, Tin-Can, has been put at the Jorvik Stable for the winter. The bridge in southern Silverglade is broken, so unfortunately I haven’t been able to go and get Tin-Can yet. Herman, the guy who owns the barn, is going to ship over Tin-Can! Can you help me pick Tin-Can up?

Objectives: Chat with Alex.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you her plan for getting Tin-Can back.

alex

Thank you, it is really kind of you to help me! I need to ride back and return this old horse now. Ride over and meet Herman where he is arriving with the boat so he doesn’t have to wait for me… I’m sure he is already there. I’m sure you and my horse Tin-Can will get along great… even if he is a little bit… special.

Quest completed

______________

Pony-Pickup is Underway

alex

I’ll ride back to drop off this old horse while you pick up my horse Tin-Can. Meet Herman and lead Tin-Can back with you to where I will be waiting at the Winery. Herman is landing with Tin-Can somewhere near Southern Irongate Beach. Do you know where that is? It is right beside the Baroness’ Riding Arena.

Objectives: Meet Herman who is coming with Alex’s horse Tin-Can on the beach past the Riding Arena, beside Southern Irongate.

Rewards: 60 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

You’ll see the ship moored in the water behind the Riding Arena. Head towards it. Herman and Tin-Can will be standing on the beach.

herman

Ahoy there! I’m Herman, the owner of the Jorvik Stall. I’m guessing you are Rita? You are here to pick up Tin-Can for Alex, right?

Quest completed

______________

Herman Here!

herman

Ahoy there young lady! It isn’t too often I go out on a boat, but Captain Brus nicely offered to ship Tin-Can here for us. You know the bridge to Southern Jorvik broke during the winter? Shipping the horse was the only solution for now. Of course Alex shouldn’t have to be without her horse!

Objectives: Listen to what Herman has to say.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Herman will tell you more about himself.

herman

Let me tell you a little about myself Rita. I am the director of the legendary Jorvik Riding Center in Southern Jorvik. I have helped Lisa, Anne, Alex, and Linda in their earlier adventures here on Jorvik. Understand that I am not a member of the Keepers of Aideen but I’ll always be on their side and help them in any way I can against anything that might threaten Jorvik.

Quest completed

______________

And This is Tin-Can

herman

I guarantee we will meet again sometime soon Rita. When the bridge in Nilmer’s Highlands is fixed, or when the ferry boat is running again I’m sure we’ll see you at the Jorvik Riding Center. Any friends of the druids is a friend of mine. Here is Tin-Can… he can certainly introduce himself!

Objectives: Speak with Tin-Can the horse. It is possible if you try…

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Is this what Alex meant by ‘special’??

tin-can

Ho ho! That’s right. I am Tin-Can, Alex’s faithful companion. And of course you are Rita and you will take me to Alex?

Quest completed

______________

Take Me to Alex

tin-can

Strange that I can speak? Ha ha ha! Some people think so. I’ll tell you what is strange isn’t that I can talk but that you hear me. It isn’t everyone who can speak with a horse, you know. Thanks to your work with the druids some new and unexplained powers have begun to awake…

So, my friend. Show me the way to Alex! I don’t have any shoes right now so please don’t ride too fast… I have sore hooves.

Objectives: Escort Tin-Can to Alex. But don’t ride too fast.. Tin-Can doesn’t have any horseshoes and has sore hooves.

Rewards: 85 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Reputation: 50 with Keepers of Aideen

Here’s one of those funny discrepancies. Tin-Can says he doesn’t have shoes, but when he lifts his feet you can clearly see he does in fact have them.

But anyway!

Ride with Tin-Can back to the Winery.

alex

Tin-Can! Tin-Can! My old true friend! Finally we get to be together again! I’ll never leave you ever again!

Quest completed

______________

Catch Up With Elizabeth

alex

Oh, it is so wonderful to have Tin-Can back again! But it isn’t right that he doesn’t have horseshoes. There is only one kind of horseshoe that works for Tin-Can. Elizabeth in Valedale has them. If you ride over to Elizabeth and tell her whatwe need and bring them back then I’ll give you a pair of brand new white riding pants. Sound like a good deal?

Objectives Pick up the right horseshoes for Tin-Can. Elizabeth in Valedale has them.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to Valedale to get the horseshoes from Elizabeth.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Oh, Tin-Can is back in Silverglade together with Alex again? That is great to hear! The gang is getting back together again… even if it isn’t happening very quickly. Thank you for helping us so much Rita. Now let’s see… where did I put that box with those antique horseshoes?

Quest completed

______________

Perfect Shoes for Tin-Can

elizabeth_sunbeam

There they are! I thought I had misplaced them. I might have taken a whole day to find them… but lucky for us not this time. Take this package of antique druid horseshoes to Alex. These should be good enough… even for an amazing horse like Tin-Can.

Objectives: Deliver the horseshoes to Alex and Tin-Can.

Rewards: 85 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP, White Riding Pants

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to the Winery with the horseshoes.

alex

Look at that! These are perfect! These are for you Tin-Can… these are the right ones for you. Thank you Rita. Here are the white riding pants I promised you. I bought them just for you my friend. I hope you like them!
