Fort Pinta Administrator

Rita! Rita! I’m so happy to see you! I need help! It’s all a disaster! Complete misery!

Somebody has falsely accused me, but I didn’t do it!

Apparently being innocent doesn’t matter because the Fort Pinta administrator is on his way to give me an official warning!

It’s a conspiracy, you have to tell them that I’m an honest and generous soul who would never hurt anybody!

…

Don’t look so skeptical, Rita! I told you I’m innocent!

If you could just tell him Rita, I’m sure he’d understand! And that would be much better and cheaper for me than hiring a lawyer.

Watch out! Here comes the Administrator! Think of something nice to saw about me!

Objectives: Talk to the administrator.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Not sure what James is innocent of, but let’s tell the Administrator so.

Hrrrum hrrrrmmm.

Quest completed

______________

James is in Trouble

What’s going on here?

Hrrrum hrrrrrmmm.

You’ll have to excuse me, I have important things to discuss with young James.

…

You’re wondering what he’s done? Did you say you’re a friend of James?

You’re welcome to listen while I explain.

Objectives: Listen to what the administrator has to tell James.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Hrrrrrum hrrrrrm.

It’s a problematic situation, young James.

Recently I have been inundated with letters about your bad management of this little business of yours.

Saying that you sell bad quality goods. That you charge insane prices. That you offer no value for money.

…But that’s not what this is about.

The more serious concern is that I’ve heard that all the tourists you bring here, and the horses that you hire to them have damaged the roads around Fort Pinta.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Mr Administrator, this is all a mistake!

There’s always lots of people coming here and I’m not responsible for maintaining the roads!

What does this have to do with me?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

You’ve worked harder than anybody else to get tourists here and it means that the fort and the roads around it are being used more.

Young James, I’ve inspected the roads myself and they are truly in a terrible state.

It’s just a matter of time before a car goes into the ditch or a horse breaks its leg.

As it is, we may need to cancel all the buses to Jorvik City and stop all races before an accident happens!

If it turns out that your business is ruining our roads and damaging our countryside, I’ll have to revoke your business license and close down your entire business.

Then you won’t be able to sell as much as a pin in Fort Pinta ever again.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

I’m sorry young James, but rules are rules.

And we all have to follow the rules.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

L-LOSE MY BUSINESS LICENSE?

NOOOOOOOO!

Quest completed

______________

The Investigation Starts

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

…

Phew… Okay, I’m calm now. But what should we do???

I can’t believe that the few tourists I manage to get here could cause that much damage. I may be a business man, but I would never do anything to hurt anybody or to hurt the countryside around here.

That would be terrible for business!

You think there’s something else behind this, Rita? You’re saying that you’ll investigate it for me? Thank you, Rita, thank you!

But where should we start? I have to look after the stables and I also need to read all those letters of complaint that were sent to the administrator.

You think you should start by examining the road outside the fort?

That sounds good! You can do the easy manual work out there and I’ll handle the heavy paper work here in the fort!

Objectives: Follow the track of damaged areas on the road and investigate how bad they are.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The trail starts just outside the fort across the bridge. Follow it up the road towards Silverglade. You find the end of the damage, strangely near a GED set up off the side of the road.

The damage to the road seems to start here. The road looks normal and undamaged further along.

Quest completed

______________

GED Turns Up Again

There’s something odd about the damage to the road.

Even if James were to hire out five hundred horses, they couldn’t have caused this much damage.

And the damage seems to stop right here, exactly where GED seems to have reappeared with a new work site.

Objectives: Talk to the worker at the GED work site.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

What could they possibly be doing now?

What are you doing here?

Get out of my sight!

Quest completed

______________

It’s Never GED’s fault!

What I’m doing here?

I’m doing important stuff for GED! And it’s none of your business!

Objectives: Ask Barney if he knows anything about what’s going on.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

As I said, I’m doing something very important here and I don’t have time to talk!

Is the road really bad? Sad to hear that, hee hee… I’m sure it would be really bad for Fort Pinta if tourists stopped coming here because the roads were so bad, and they have to let GED drill for oil next to that ugly fort instead…

…

But that’s got nothing to do with me! I’m just here to build… Ehm, important things for GED!

There is nothing suspicious here at all, so you can go away now.

…

No, there is nothing I need help with and there is no work here for somebody like you either!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

It seems as though the man from GED is very anxious to get you away from here. Maybe someone living close by has seen something suspicious? Maybe you should talk to Barney to see if he’s seen anything?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Hey there Rita, what can I do for you?

There’s pot holes and other damage on the Fort Pinta road? That’s not good!

Quest completed

______________

What is GED Doing Here?

You say there’s big pot holes and all kinds of trash on the road and that some administrator in Fort Pinta claims it’s because of all the tourists?

That sounds weird.

Objectives: Listen to what Barney has to say.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

I walk to Fort Pinta on that road quite often and I can’t remember seeing anything that would indicate that much damage.

It sounds weird that the damage you describe would be caused by tourist buses and hired horses.

As far as I know, buses don’t tend to dig holes in the ground… And if they did, the holes would be much larger than the ones you’re talked about.

You say that GED has a site there? Yes, I’ve seen that, unfortunately. That guy turned up a few days ago with his containers, but there’s something weird going on there.

Last time I walked past he seemed to just be hanging around waiting for something. I asked him what GED was doing here, but he just shouted that he was on his coffee break.

I didn’t think you actually got any coffee breaks if you worked for GED!

I haven’t heard the sound of any machinery from there either, so what is it he’s actually working on?

I think it would be worthwhile keeping an eye on him.

GED wouldn’t come here without a reason and I think they have a few skeletons in the cupboard, as Will would say.

If only we had a clue, we might be able to figure out if he had anything to do with the damage on the road…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Wait, I know where you can find a clue!

Quest completed

______________

Clues in a Photo Album

I know where we can find something to help us!

Steve and I often go for short walks around here to give the cows a bit of exercise, and sometimes we take photos with Steve’s camera while we’re out walking.

I’m sure we were there just a day or so ago, just when the GED guy had arrived.

If you examine that photo, it might give us a clue.

…Where the photo is? In my photo album of course! I’ve got it safely tucked away here on the farm.

Where the photo album is? I don’t actually remember. Maybe you can help me find it?

Objectives: Find Barney’s photo album.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Find the photo album in the bushes behind the silo, and bring it to Barney.

There’s my photo album! I knew I’d put it in a safe place.

Quest completed

______________

Photographic Evidence

Now let’s see, here’s the photo Steve and I  took using Steve’s new camera the day before yesterday.

I don’t see anything weird, but you’d better check it yourself.

Objective: Examine Barney’s photo.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

There are two clues to find in the image.

First clue, is the GED guy in the background, behind Barney and Steve.

There’s the GED guy! I didn’t think of him when we took the photo!

But what is he doing? It looks like he’s locking something into the container.

Second clue, is the head of lettuce on the road.

Why should I look on the road? There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong there?

Aha! You’re right, Rita, that is weird!

We took this photo only a couple of days ago and it can’t possibly be wear and tear that has caused the kind of damage you’re describing in so short a time.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

If GED has some super scary hole digging machine in the container that can dig fast without making any noise, maybe he’s behind it!

Quest completed

______________

The Hunt Goes On

But why would GED be digging holes? They usually build things.

…

But now when I think about it, there is of course another explanation.

The only things I know around here that can cause a lot of damage in a short time are chipmunks. They can dig holes in not time if they think they can find food.

But I don’t understand why they would dig holes in the middle of the road? There can’t be anything there for them to eat?

Steve usually has some chipmunks around on the farm, so it’s probably worth talking to him about it.

Most farmers put out traps to stop the chipmunks from eating the lettuce, but Steve is too goodhearted for that, so he feeds them instead.

I have to stay here and watch the potatoes grow, so it’s probably best if you ride over to Steve and ask him about it.

Objectives: Talk to Steve about the chipmunks.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride over to Steve’s farm and ask him about chipmunks.

Hey, Rita!

It’s always a good day on the farm when you come for a visit.

Quest completed

______________

Waiting to Feed a Chipmunk

Holes in the road? The chipmunks could dig holes like that in no time if they had to, but you know what Rita? I don’t think my chipmunks here on the farm would do anything like that – they like it here and they get fed.

Of course, they may have moved to another farm for a change of scenery, or maybe they’re renovating their holes ahead of the winter – and sometimes they take on a bit of extra work as mailmen, I’ve heard.

You know what, I’ll give you some lettuce that you can feed them with, and I’m sure they’ll come up and say hi if you just wait a little bit!

They’re very nice and don’t bite at all, so try feeding them to see if they’re there.

Objectives: Feed the chipmunks with Steve’s lettuce.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

After you place the lettuce down, you wait for a long time, but no chipmunks appear. This is strange…

You didn’t see a single chipmunk? Are you sure you waited long enough?

That’s sad. Where could they have gone?

Quest completed

______________

A Trail of Lettuce

It’s a shame that the chipmunks have gone. They were a nice addition to the farm.

You say you want to find them, Rita?

If you find that kind of thing fun, by all means, see if you can find them, but you don’t have to force them to come back here if they’ve found somewhere nice to live.

If you start looking by the holes where they live, maybe you and Summerblaze can find a trail together!

Objectives: Follow the trail and find out where the chipmunks have gone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

You find a piece of lettuce on the ground near the chipmunk holes. You notice another piece farther on, leading a trail all the way back towards the damaged road.

Chipmunks all over the road!

Quest completed

______________

Two Coincidences is a Conclusion

The chipmunks have dug holes all over the road, and somebody brought them here on purpose. Maybe it’s time to confront the GED work site again.

Objectives: Talk to the GED worker again.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

We’re on to him….

You’re back again?

…

Chipmunks? Don’t be silly, there are no chipmunks here!

Quest completed

______________

Sneak in to Investigate

There are no chipmunks on the road, and if there were it wouldn’t be anything to do with me.

And by the way, I hate chipmunks! They’re so ugly!

Now I have to… Ehm… Work! With non-chipmunk related jobs! If I see you here again, I’ll kick you out!

Objectives: Find something you can lure the GED worker away with.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Your plan of distraction involves getting past the worker to be behind the metal containers. Go past the stone wall nearby, and jump over it. Going any closer gets you thrown out by the worker.

You could maybe use this trash to distract the GED worker.

Quest completed

______________

A Breaking Distraction

If I throw one of these bottles as far as I can, he might go to investigate the noise. That will give me some time to look around the site, but I have to be quick!

Objectives: Use a bottle from the pile of trash to lure the GED worker away and then peek into the container.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Your plan works. He takes off running to investigate the noise and you get a chance to peek inside the containers. One if filled with chipmunks. The other is full of heads of lettuce. Coincidence? I think not!

W-what? You’re still here? I hope you haven’t looked in any of the containers? Which are obviously both empty!

Quest completed

______________

Car Chase in Silverglade

Those containers just contain work stuff. There’s nothing weird about that.

You’ve seen that there are chipmunks locked away here? I-I see, that’s odd. It obviously can’t be anything to do with… Ehm… Me.

I will of course… Ehm… Let them out immediately. I’ll just get the keys to the container which is… Ehm… Over here in the car.

Objectives: Catch the GED worker before he has time to run away.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 70 XP, 250 Horse XP

The worker jumps in his car and speeds off, hoping to escape. Complete the race to chase him down. Beware of barrels he jettisons out from behind the car. He gets close to the fort and the car wipes out on a puddle of oil and crashes into a stone wall, leaving him dazed outside the car.

Ugh… I hate chipmunks and their hole digging!

Quest completed

______________

Set the Chipmunks Free

This was a stupid plan from the start… Catch chipmunks from all over Jorvik to sabotage the road so that nobody could blame GED… I’d better run before I’m arrested!

Grrr… I assume I won’t get out of here without giving you the key. Bah! Take it! As long as I don’t have to see you or a chipmunk ever again! It landed over here somewhere when the car crashed.

Objectives: Find the key for the container and release the chipmunks.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Pick up the key and return to the container. Release the chipmunks and take one with you for evidence.

The released chipmunks happily jump onto the grass.

Quest completed

______________

Good News, At Last

This chipmunk seems calm and friendly. If it goes with you to Fort Pinta you can use it to prove James is innocent.

Objectives: Return to James and show him the chipmunk.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

James will be relieved to see you.

Rita! Have you found anything? Hurry up and tell the administrator!

We can’t lose even a second!

Quest completed

______________

Conclusive Evidence

Hrrrrum hrrrrrrmm.

Do you have any new information for us?

Objectives: Prove to the administrator that James is innocent.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Hrrrrrrm…. What have you got to say?

About the damage to the road…

What are the damages?

They’re not caused by horses or buses.

Then what is behind it?

Chipmunks!

Chipmunks? Do you have any proof?

(Show the chipmunk.)

A chipmunk! And GED was involved? It’s obvious now that young James didn’t have anything to do with this.

That’s right.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Hrrrrm, so it was the man from GED who was behind it all, and I blamed young James like an old fool.

Quest completed

______________

Apologies to Young James

Hrrrm. So GED wanted to destroy the road and blame everything on James? Now I’m starting to understand. A while back, I got a letter from GED saying they wanted to drill resources around Fort Pinta. Obviously I said no, it would ruin the environment and scare away the tourists.

Now when I thought we would have to prohibit tourists I was thinking of saying yes to GED instead!

I’m sure that’s what they planned all along. Hrrrm.

I have to start preparations for the road repairs and bringing all those chipmunks home again immediately.

Rita, you have saved Fort Pinta and prevented me from committing a big mistake. Would you give James my sincere apologies?

Objectives: Tell James that the administrator apologizes.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Give James the good news.

Were you able to prove that I was innocent?

Quest completed

______________

A Thank You From James

So GED is trying to sabotage things for me?

They don’t know what they’re getting themselves into! If they want to try to get me, I’ll sue them for everything they have!

But that will have to be some other time, right now I have to make sure I take care of all the tourists that have been frightened by all the talk of damaged roads.

But I’m sure it will be alright… I can arrange for guided tours where you can see actual live chipmunks instead, I’m sure the tourists will love it! I can sell loads of t-shirts with chipmunks printed on them, and the chipmunk cuddly toys – then I’m sure I can make loads of money from this disaster!

Rita, I am eternally grateful!

Objectives: Talk to James about a reward.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 70 XP, Chipmunk T-shirt

Now that is resolved…

A reward? We have defeated GED’s evil plans once again, is that not reward enough?

You know what, Rita, I’ve heard that these pretty t-shirts with chipmunks printed on them will be very popular in Fort Pinta, and as you’ve helped me so much, I’ll give you your first chipmunk t-shirt for half price!

Of course I’m joking, you know that don’t you, Rita? Obviously I’ll give you the t-shirt for free as you helped me resolve this disaster.

You don’t need to thank me, you’ve already done so much for me and Fort Pinta!

a little souvenir from south hoof, a new career for jonas, erik, holly, james, jonas, one last thank you from holly, payment solutions, set up shop, sigrid, south hoof shopping, the ferry to south hoof

Let’s check and see how Jonas is feeling today after his adventure yesterday.

A New Career for Jonas

jonas

Hello again Rita! Lovely day, isn’t it?

Yesterday was a little more dramatic, wouldn’t you say? I lost my fishing boat, almost drowned, and then very nearly froze to death. Got plenty done, I’d say! Haha!

Ah well, mustn’t grumble, we’re all here feeling fine and with a new friend to boot! I mean you, of course Rita. Many thanks for all you’ve done!

Now I think about it, it was rather a good day in the end.

Objectives: Talk to Jonas.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Any day you don’t die is a good day.

jonas

My fishing boat?

Ah, no. It’s on the seabed now, rotting away amongst the crabs and seaweed. I’d started to get a little bit fed up of all that fishing though, and it feels like this might be a bit of a sign to try something new… Can’t do the same thing every day of your life, now can you Rita?

Perhaps a few more visitors might start coming to South Hoof soon, wouldn’t you think? I was thinking about maybe opening some kind of shop to give the visitors somewhere to buy the essentials… That would work, wouldn’t it Rita?

Quest completed

______________

South Hoof Shopping

jonas

You think a store sounds like a good idea?

Excellent news Rita! Then I suppose it’s time to put fishing behind me and set course for a career as a businessman. Feels good!

Do you think you could help me get started, Rita? Sigrid says I still need to rest… If she sees me doing anything other than taking it easy, she’ll go crazy. You’ll help? Oh Rita, you’re a lifesaver!

I know there are some boxes of clothes, horse equipment, and other odds and ends hanging around on the farm someplace. No one here is interested in them, but there’s actually some pretty nice stuff, and I think I could probably have them for sale! If you could find the boxes and bring them here, I think we might have something to work with.

Objectives: Look around the garden for boxes for Jonas’ shop.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

The boxes can be found inside the two barns. When you have picked all of them up, return to Jonas.

jonas

They look like just the boxes I was thinking of. Great work Rita!

Quest completed

______________

Set Up Shop!

jonas

Would you mind helping me a little more, Rita? If I start working now, Sigrid will make my life a misery, you can count on that!

You’ll help? That’s the spirit Rita, thanks!

If you could open up the boxes and set them over there? There should be a few posts and some material in there as well. If you set it all up it could well start to look like some kind of shop! It’s gonna be really nice!

Objectives: Set the boxes out in the places Jonas pointed out.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Dismount your horse to use the box from your inventory. Once all the boxes are set up, return to Jonas.

jonas

Hey, that’s looking great Rita!

Quest completed

______________

Payment Solutions…

jonas

Hmm… I just thought of something Rita… I don’t think I’ll be standing at the store selling things the whole time. It doesn’t seem particularly rewarding to just stand there and wait for people to turn up… Nope, we’ll have to think of something else.

Hmm…

I think I’ve got it! People round here are decent types, no thieves in this neck of the woods! I think it’ll be enough to just set out a little box where people can leave their money when they want to buy something? I reckon that’ll do the trick, don’t you Rita?

Hey, set these boxes out next to each of the shops. Then we’re all done!

Objectives: Set up the boxes for Jonas’ shop.

Rewards: 60 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP, Beautiful Seafaring Saddle

Remain on foot and place a lockbox at each shop, then return to Jonas.

jonas

Well just look at that, Rita! What lovely shops we have! Really lovely! Now we just need to hope someone wants to come and buy things from them!

Thanks for everything Rita. I looked through the boxes and found this… I think it’ll suit you perfectly!

Thanks again, and I hope we’ll see each other again soon Rita!

Quest completed

Holly wants to speak to us now. Let’s go find her behind the house.

One Last Thank You from Holly

holly

Hey again Rita! I hoped to be able to catch you before you rode off!

Thanks so much for all your help. I don’t know what we’d have done if you didn’t turn up and save everyone!

Have you met my husband Erik, by the way? You only saw each other very briefly out at Cape Sorrow…

Objectives: Talk to Erik.

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Pleased to meet you sir, even though you be grumpy.

erik

Hi Rita!

Like Holly just said, I’m Erik.

Thanks for saving us. I was really frightened out there on Cape Sorrow, but I tried to put on a brave face for Madison. Now though, I’m mostly angry. This would never have happened if it wasn’t for my stupid father!

As long as nobody other than him gets into trouble on his little adventures, then I don’t care so much, but this time he put my daughter Madison in harm’s way. He’s taken it too far now. I don’t know what I’m gonna do but things can’t carry on like this…

I’m sorry, Rita.

I won’t drag you into our family conflicts. Thanks again, I hope to see you again when all this has calmed down.

Quest completed

Sigrid also has some words for us. Let’s go see her by the lighthouse.

The Ferry to South Hoof

sigrid

Good day to you Rita. If I understand correctly, you’ve already been inside the lighthouse, otherwise I would have gladly given you a tour.

Might you have time to help me out with one more thing?

It’s to do with the ferry that used to go between South Hoof and Fort Pinta. I’d love to see it get going again. What if an accident happens at some point? We’d need to be able to connect with the mainland in a hurry in that case…

I don’t know who to talk to on the mainland, but perhaps James in Fort Pinta can help you? I don’t know him, but apparently he’s the one who calls the shots over there…

You’re not sure James is the right person to talk to, but you’re happy to help anyway, you say? Thanks Rita!

I hope to see you again sometime.

Objectives: Talk to James about the ferry between Fort Pinta and South Hoof. Seems like he’s already here at South Hoof, by the ferry landing.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

I thought you were… Allergic to water??

james

Hey Rita!

Check me out, just arriving by ferry! Cool, right? Hmm? Why is the ferry running?

Well, when I told everyone about the dark lighthouse at South Hoof, the few tourists who were left went crazy and wanted to visit South Hoof to see for themselves. So I called the Councilman at Silverglade and told him what had happened. When he heard you’d gone to South Hoof on your own, he suddenly became very serious and said he’d fix the ferry situation immediately. Only a couple of hours went by before there was a new ferry turning up at the dock at Fort Pinta. I got to come across on the maiden voyage, and here I am! The ferry will travel regularly between South Hoof and Fort Pinta from now on!

Quest completed

______________

A Little Souvenir from South Hoof

james

There’s gonna be some big bucks to be made here Rita! Now you and all the tourists can come here as often as you like!

I’ll take my boat back that you borrowed. You know it was only to borrow, right? Of course you can borrow it again if you pay the rental fee.

Objectives: Talk to James again.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP, South Hoof Cap

Wow, you should be paying me for fixing it so that you have a boat to rent out!

james

If that’s all the thanks you get for helping? Haha, of course not Rita!

Here’s a little token of my appreciation. A little souvenir to remind you of your adventures at South Hoof. I was thinking about selling them to the tourists. They’ll go like hot cakes, don’t you think?

Seeya around Rita!

Quest completed

You have now discovered the South Hoof ferry station. The first time you discover it, you may have to call for pick up and discover the other end in Fort Pinta. I had to do that on my main account, but not on my blog account. So I do not know if it was initially a glitch that has been fixed or if it just does not work right away for some people.

The pink ferry to South Hoof does not have a map icon, but it runs on the same rotation as the green ferry to Fort Pinta. Make sure you are waiting long enough for it if it seems it is not appearing to you.

The South Hoof Lighthouse Goes Dark…

james

Nightmare, Rita You’ve gotta help me!

What’s happened, you ask?

The lighthouse on the South Hoof Peninsula has gone out! It’s a complete disaster! No tourist ships dare come close to Fort Pinta if the lighthouse isn’t there to guide them, and if there are no tourists then I don’t make money! This is so dreadful for me…

If I shouldn’t just call the lighthouse keeper and ask what’s going on? Do you think I’m stupid? Of course I’ve done that already. I’ve called loads of times but there’s no answer. Something must’ve happened.

You’ll help me though, right Rita? You will?! Sweet!

I’ve had an idea. A while back, I bought a pair of really nice, cozy little boats that I thought about hiring out to the tourists. For some reason though, nobody’s ever hired them out which I think is weird because going out on a boat is super fun! So I’ve been told. But anyway, you can borrow one so you can sail over to South Hoof. What do you think Rita?

Why I don’t just go myself?

Umm, I’m… Umm… Allergic to water. Exactly, yeah. That’s it. So unfortunately I can’t go. The boat is down there between the pier and the beach. Good luck!

Objectives: Ride down to James’ boat which is moored to a jetty between the pier and the beach.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Well, this boat isn’t exactly sea-worthy… Return to James to report the boat’s condition.

james

Have you already been to South Hoof? You haven’t?!

The boat was broken, you say? That’s ridiculous! I paid TEN Jorvik Shillings each for those boats. Maybe there’s a hole or two in the bottom, but they’re just there to keep you cool while you’re out on the water. Like air conditioning in a car.

Why do you look so suspicious, Rita?

Another Boat to Borrow

james

Okay, okay. The boat might not be in top condition, but I have another. I rented it out to the Guard at the disco, so he could practice landing maneuvers at the beach or something. You can go and ask him if you can borrow that one instead?

Objectives: Ask the Guard at the disco if you can borrow his boat.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Let’s hope this boat is in better shape…

ATTENTION!

Rita, how can I be of assistance to you on this day?

Quest completed

______________

Operation Iron Cockroach

security

WHAT ON EARTH?! You want to borrow a boat from me?

Aha! You mean the landing craft I borrowed in order to rehearse crucial beach storming maneuvers? Operation Iron Cockroach as I call it…

Grrr… There’s not much boat to borrow unfortunately. My beach landing rehearsals became a little too realistic, even for me.

No time to waste though, I realize you’re on an important mission Rita! So I hereby submit my report of Operation Iron Cockroach: The time was 04:07 yesterday morning as I was out at sea off Fort Pinta carefully and silently approaching the beach. Just next to the diving board I saw a guard post! The element of surprise was lost and my position uncovered, so I went full speed ahead to get to the shore before the enemy had a chance to react!

Suddenly, I heard a huge explosion. A mine, I thought, so I threw myself straight into the water! I then realized that the fuel tank on the landing craft had exploded, so I swam to land and retreated to the fort. The enemy guard revealed himself in better light to actually be a particularly suspicious-looking bush, so no actual danger was present and I gave myself the order to stop the exercise.

How it went with the boat? Oh, I’ve got no idea. I haven’t had a chance to run recon over the terrain yet, since I’ve got light bulbs to change and the disco ball to polish first.

Hmm… During my retreat, I saw Elin running towards me. She’s the lifeguard down on the beach below Fort Pinta.

Suppose you could ask her if she saw what happened to the boat…?

Objectives: Ask lifeguard Elin about the Guard’s boating accident by the beach.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Elin can be found standing in the middle of the diving board circling the beach swimming area.

elin

Lovely day today, wouldn’t you say? Hi, my name’s Elin and I’m the lifeguard here at the beach. What’s your name?

Quest completed

______________

Whatever Ends Up in the Water…

elin

The Guard’s accident? I knew it was him sneaking away through the bushes! He looked pretty baffled…

If I saw what happened to his boat? Yeah, I ran here when I heard the explosion so I didn’t see the actual accident but whatever ends up in the water here usually drifts ashore along the foreland which crops out over past the bathing area. If his boat didn’t sink, it’s pretty sure to have ended up there.

If you find the boat, you could come and let me know since I need to be sure it won’t be dangerous for the people who come swimming here.

Objectives: Look for the missing boat along the outcrop of land past the bathing spot.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Inspect the wrecked boat washed up on the beach and return to Elin.

elin

Did you find the boat? Bits of it, you say… Hmm. Why are you so interested in a wonky old boat like that anyway?

Oh, you need a boat to get to South Hoof? And James’ other boats are in pretty much the same shape? Hmm, maybe there’s a chance you can repair the boat with the parts you find here? Worth a try, right? It’s pretty quiet here right now so I can help you if you’d like?

One Man’s Wreck is Another Man’s Boat!

elin

If the other boat is also broken, you’ll probably need to fix that as well. Maybe there’s some stuff from the wreck you can use for that?

I’ll go and take a look at your boat while you look for parts here on the beach that you can use. What do you say?

Nice. Have a look along the little peninsula where you found the wreck. Everything that sunk has probably washed ashore there… See you in a while by the pier where your boat is!

Objectives: Look for and collect parts of the wrecked boat along the outcrop of land past the bathing spot. When you’re done, talk to Elin. She’s waiting on the pier where James’ boat is.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Clean the beach of boat parts and return to Elin.

elin

Hi again! Looks like you found loads of useful stuff, we’ll definitely be able to make use of this.

Quest completed

______________

Fishing for an Engine

elin

Well Rita, I don’t see there being any problems with sealing the hull of your boat with the parts we have here. We just need to get hold of some kind of glue or sealant to hold it all together.

The engine, on the other hand, is a different story. You’ll need to find the wreck’s engine if you’re going to have any chance of fixing it.

You didn’t see an engine on the shore, you say?

I guess it sank when the fuel tank exploded on the Guard’s boat. It’s probably on the seabed out by the diving board at the bathing spot. Have a look there and see if you can’t salvage it. Here’s the anchor from the boat, perhaps you could use it as a kind of fishing hook to fish up the engine? Hehe!

Use the rope to fish out the engine. Come back once you’ve found it, and I’ll see if I can find a way to use these parts you found in the meantime.

Objectives: Salvage the engine from the water outside Fort Pinta Beach.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Leave your horse on the beach and go on foot up onto the diving board to be able to fish for the engine. Once you have hauled it up, return to Elin.

elin

Nice work! Now we’ll have enough spare parts and then some!

Quest completed

______________

A Thin Sealant

elin

I reckon I should be able to get the engine going for you Rita. I was a mechanic at the Jorvik City scrapyard before I became a lifeguard here. I hardly ever saw the sunshine at that scrapyard, so changing career was pretty much the best decision I ever made!

Anyway, I saw a barrel of sealant further down the pier, that should do the trick for sealing up the hull. It should’ve been delivered to my friend Donald the Builder in Jarlaheim but it’s been sitting there for weeks now so I guess the ferry captain must’ve forgotten about it. Would you ride over and get it? I’ll text Donald and ask him if it’s okay if we use it. He’ll say yes, so ride over and grab it now!

Objectives: Fetch the barrel of sealant on the pier and ride back to Elin.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The barrel is tiny and set on the pier by the blue/green ferry station. Return to Elin with the barrel.

elin

Exactly, that’s the barrel I was talking about.

Oh, speak of the devil, a text from Donald… He writes that we should just take as much sealant as we need and that if there’s something there’s never a shortage of, it’s sealant. Sounds good Rita, Donald usually knows what he’s talking about.

Quest completed

______________

Seal the Boat!

elin

Now you just need to use the sealant to seal the hull of the boat. With the parts from the wreck you found earlier, you shouldn’t have any problems making it watertight.

I’ll wait here, just ask if you need anything!

Objectives: Seal the hull of the boat and then talk to Elin.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Dismount your horse and use the sealant to fix up the boat into tip-top shape!

elin

Great! That hull isn’t gonna let a drop of water into it now!

Dip Interrupted

elin

Well well, I’m sure we’ll get some speed out of this engine eventually! I’ve got some tools you can borrow, but maybe could you do me a favor in return?

Yesterday night, I took a quick little dip down by the pier on the other side of Fort Pinta. It was pretty late, around the same time the Guard was out on his little adventure in the boat. When I heard the explosion, I ran outta there, I didn’t grab shoes or anything and got to the beach as quick as I could. I ended up leaving more than just my shoes! All my clothes are still over there… Do you think you could go grab for me?

Thanks Rita!

Objectives: Find the clothes that Elin left behind on the other side of the Fort Pinta.

Reputation: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Out skinny dippin’ huh? I got ya fam.

Ride over to the small huts on the other side of the stone bridge and find Elin’s clothes. Return to her when you have found them all.

You know how to repair an engine, right? Haha, of course, sorry I even asked!

Good luck and let me know if you need anything.

Objectives: Repair the engine, then talk to Elin.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Dismount your horse to repair the engine with Elin’s tools. Speak to her when you are finished.

No Boat Without Fuel!

elin

There we go Rita! Now your boat is as good as new! All you need now is to fill the tank with fuel so you can sail away.

Fuel?

You didn’t get any fuel from James? Haha, well without fuel you won’t be getting very far. Probably best you ride to him ask him for some.

I need to get back to lifeguarding the beach now, but it was really nice to meet you! Nice to be able to use my old skills again as well, that doesn’t happen much anymore haha!

Good luck over at South Hoof, see you around!

You’ve got a horse Rita, can I sit behind you while you ride?

Unlucky Twice at Sea

sigrid

How we’re feeling, you ask?

Considering the circumstances, everyone is doing rather well. Except for my husband, Jonas. He says he’s fine, but I know he’s just trying not to worry me.

He was in the water long after the boat went down, and he gave all the dry clothes he managed to save to Madison so that she wouldn’t freeze. His temperature was right down, and even though he’s stronger than a walrus, he might…

…What happened, you ask? Well, Jonas had taken Madison out on a fishing trip, but when they were on their way home Jonas steered a little too close to Cape Sorrow. He knows how dangerous the water is here, but he wanted to show Madison one of his favorite cliffs out this way. It was pretty stupid of him, but he meant well, as he always does. The fishing boat ran aground and sank almost immediately, but Jonas managed to swim ashore with Madison. I saw what happened from up in the lighthouse, so I ran down to the farm and got Erik.

Together we took our boat and got to Cape Sorrow as quickly as we could, but sadly, Erik also managed to run aground. Jonas had to throw himself into the water again to save us. He got us up onto the shore, but I think it was too much, even for my lovely, brave husband.

I don’t think there’s any danger to my Jonas, but maybe could you take a look at him?

Quest completed

Return to Jonas tomorrow.

Speak to Alex and the other Soul Riders outside the stable at Silverglade Winery.

Be Vigilant: Watch and Wait

alex

Nothing beats a little rest…

I’ve spoken to the druids and they have a new set of directives for us.

Ready to get stuck in again?

Hope you’re as excited as I am…

Objectives: Listen to Alex.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will explain her plan to continue to watch Dark Core.

alex

Right then, my friends.

What we need to do is be vigilant: watch and wait.

Of course we’re missing our friend Anne, but Fripp and the druids are currently working out a safe way of traveling to Pandoria to look for her.

Until then, there’s nothing we can do for her.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

It feels terrible to just sit and wait. It’s unbearable to know that our friend is there and we’re here doing nothing.

I know how horrendous it is there.

Believe me when I say that every second you’re there feels like a nightmare a hundred times worse than death.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

I know, Lisa. I know.

But it’s just like Alex and the druids say. We can’t do anything now.

We wait and see if the druids come up with a safe way…

They must be able to!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

But if it takes too long…?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

…Then we take matters into our own hands.

Count on it.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Agreed. Anyway, now it’s time to plan and prepare while the enemy forges their dark plans.

When they strike, we need to be prepared. Strike faster, strike harder.

We want to know if Dark Core and the Dark Riders are up to something awfully suspect.

The very worst thing that could happen would be if they started the Dark Ceremony to open the cracks between Pandoria’s unreality and our reality.

That would mean that the flow between the two worlds would run completely out of control and both worlds would collapse.

Or worse…

We’ve got no idea when or where they’re going to strike. We’re not ever sure exactly how either, but Fripp and the druids are trying to work it all out.

If we get more information from the druids, we might have some new tasks to complete, but until then, we need to stay vigilant, keep watching and waiting.

Raise the alarm and take action if something unexpected occurs.

I did a little surveillance last night and found a number of suitable locations for observation.

I’ve informed the Spymaster of the newly developing situation. He and his agents, the chipmunks, and whatever else he’s got working for him are all on high alert and will let us know if they notice anything of interest.

Linda, I thought you could perhaps be our liaison and base yourself out of the library where you provide the druids with your analysis of the scriptures.

We’ll report to you Linda, and the best place for you right now is studying those texts and helping the druids to interpret them.

Okay?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

linda

Yes, Alex.

I’ll keep my head in the books and be ready to receive your reports as well as keeping an eye on your observation schedules. You’ll always know where I am.

See you in the Winery’s library whenever you need me.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Me, Rita, and you Alex… We’re out in the field, right?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Correct, Lisa.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

lisa

Brilliant.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Good. Then it looks like we’re ready to get started.

I’ve got the map right here with all the observation spots marked out. I think Observation Station #42 will be perfect for you Rita.

It’s a great lookout spot towards the sea, and you can get a closer look at Dark Core HQ.

You’ll definitely see if someone’s on their way towards us from Dark Core…

Quest completed

______________

Binoculars Fit for Purpose

alex

Aha. You don’t have any binoculars?

You’ll definitely need a pair if you’re going to be able to keep watch properly. You can borrow mine if you like? I’ve got plenty in stocky, haha.

Objectives: Do you need some binoculars?

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP, Alex’s Binoculars

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Tell Alex, you are in fact, needing binoculars.

alex

Here, you can borrow these for as long as you need them.

You can use them more than once.

Quest completed

______________

Observation Station #42

alex

You can see on the map where you should be going. It’s a nice place at the southwestern corner of Paddock Island. You know, south of Jarlaheim in the Harvest Counties.

Objectives: Ride out to Observation Station #42 and take a look through the binoculars.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

The observation spot is located near a bush behind the upper paddock on Paddock Island, facing towards the ocean.

Use the binoculars and take a peek at what’s going on at Dark Core.

self

Uneventful day… I’ll come back tomorrow.

But, wait…

Who’s howling like that?!

Sounds like somebody’s screaming for help…?

Quest completed

Return to Observation Station tomorrow.

In the meantime, let’s go down the hill and see who needs help.

Help! Help! Help!

sonja

Help! Oh gosh, there you are Rita! My friend!

It’s me, Sonja!

Objectives: Ask Sonja what happened.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

What are you doing down here crying, silly girl?

sonja

How lovely to see you!

Sniffle…

You’ve got no idea…

Ow, ow, ow! I’ve got such a headache! Well, it aches all over actually! Sniffle.

Let me tell you about it.

Quest completed

______________

Sonja’s Unhappy Hardship

sonja

Sniffle…

My head hurts so much… Sniffle…

I was out on a long ride with my horse around all the beautiful countryside and galloped past one of the runestones… You know, the ones that are all over the place around here.

You know the ones…

This particular runestone just suddenly making weird noises and lighting up pink… My poor horse went crazy and just ran away! I wasn’t ready for it and ended up landing on my head.

Sniffle…

Objectives: Talk to Sonja.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

That’s what you get for not wearing a helmeeeeeet!

sonja

Where my horse and my helmet are? Where my horse is right now, I’ve got no idea. I guess I was just too lazy to put my helmet on before I came out. I learned my lesson now though… I’ll never ride without a helmet again.

Sniffle…

Now I’m feeling really dizzy and everything hurts!

Typical.

Quest completed

______________

The Call of the Runestone

sonja

Which runestone was the one that scared us? Sniffle…

That one. That one over there. By the seashore. The one that looks exactly like the other stupid runestones.

Take a look at it, why don’t you? Be sure to come back and help me afterwards though, if that’s okay?

Objectives: Examine the runestone then return to Sonja.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

The runestone is glowing with energy and runes circling in the air around it. What could this mean…?

sonja

I agree with you, that runestone is definitely… Strange.

And it’s ugly. Stupid ugly runestone.

Quest completed

______________

Ambulance!

sonja

Please could you do me a huge favor and take me to the clinic in Jarlaheim? I don’t think I could get there on my own. Sniffle.

I don’t think I’m very seriously injured but you never know, better to get the vet to take a look at me and see if I should head to the hospital.

Could you take me on the back of your horse to the veterinarian in Jarlaheim?

Sniffle…

Objectives: Take Sonja to the vet in Jarlaheim for a check-up.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Ugh, it hurts me just watching you ride, you pitiful girl, what is that?!

dino_valley_vet

Hello there! What’s happened here?

Oh…

No helmet?

Hmph. You see, kids these days!

Now then Sonja, you might have been lucky and only scored yourself a mild concussion, but let’s have a look at you…

Quest completed

______________

Tell Linda About the Runestone

sonja

Thanks for taking me to the vet, Rita. You’re a true friend. That whole runestone thing was really bizarre. What did you say you were doing now? You’re going to meet Linda and tell her your findings? Say hey to her from me! Thanks so much again for your help.

Objectives: Report to Linda in the library at the Winery.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Return to the library and tell Linda everything that’s happened.

linda

Hey Rita! How’s it going? I’m just sitting here studying a bunch of ancient texts…

Mm-hmm…?

Quest completed

______________

Locate Alex

linda

Yup, I get you.

I reckon that’s something you should talk to Alex about. She usually tells us about how she goes out and “talks to the runestones” sometimes… Some kind of errand for the druids, apparently. Some kind of measurement she takes. She’ll probably know more about why the runestones have been behaving strangely.

I’m not sure what it could all mean. You should tell Alex all about it.

I’ve no idea where Alex is right now though. She’s not out in the field on errands. Not according to my notes, anyway.

Check the stables? Talk to a few of the people out there in the yard maybe? Perhaps someone’s seen her…

Objectives: Check with the people around the Winery and see were Alex is.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

The person you need is Tyra. You can talk to others and they will tell you either they haven’t seen Alex, or to ask if Tyra has seen her. You can skip talking to others and go directly to Tyra.

tyra

Hi Rita!

Are you looking for Alex?

Yeah, she said something earlier before she and Tin-Can galloped away east over…

Hm.

What was it?

Let me think…

Quest completed

______________

Brother James

tyra

Yes, now I remember!

Alex said something or other about family issues before she left. That nuisance James is her little brother, right?

Must be some scrape he’s gotten into that she’ll have to fix up as usual! Typical James. If I were you, I’d go to Fort Pinta and talk to him.

Objectives: Talk to James in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride or transport to Fort Pinta and seek James for information about Alex.

james

Ah.

Yeah, of course…

…

Alex. Yep.

Quest completed

______________

Alex At the Mall

james

Alex is going to meet our mother at the mall in Jorvik City. She took the bus out there a little while ago. You’ll be sure to find her there in the cafe, I’m sure.

It’s not so often we get to see mama these days, just so you know. She’s just difficult. Always wants to borrow money from me, and that’s just not happening.

Objectives: Take the bus to Jorvik City Plaza and look for Alex there.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Make sure you have your bus ticket with you. Once at the mall, you can find Alex at a table with her mother in the back of the cafe.

alex

Rita! Welcome!

Mama, this is Rita.

Rita, this is my lovely old mother.

Quest completed

______________

Mother & Daughter

alex

Wait a second, Rita.

Me and my mother are just gonna finish up here. We’re almost done, I’ll be right there.

Objectives: Wait until Alex and her mother are done talking.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

What do you mean, wait? Don’t you mean eavesdrop… Since you pretty much stand there staring while they converse.

alex

Where were we…

Yes, mama! I’ve told you, you can stop thinking like that!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

There’s nobody who cares about me anymore…

I’m not only abandoned, I’m a bad mother as well.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Mama!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

I’ve been abandoned by everyone…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

No, you know that’s not true. We love you mama!

All of your children love you. Stop saying those things, we all know they’re not true.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

No, no, no…

I’m such a terrible mother… I’ve failed you all.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Now you really can stop this. You’re our beloved mother and you haven’t had it easy, we all know that. That dad more or less disappeared isn’t your fault, and it’s not our fault either. It was his choice.

You had to take care of us single handedly, which was no small feat, we all know that now.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

No, it was no small feat, and I didn’t succeed. Y’know…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

No! You can’t say that! It’s not easy to take care of five kids on your own…

Look at us now! If I must say so myself, you did a great job! It’s all thanks to you that we’re here! We love life and we love you. Without you, we’d never be what we are now, and we owe you everything.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

You really mean that?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Of course! You’re our beloved mama, and you mean the world to us so stop blaming yourself for things you had no control over that never really had such a bad effect on us anyway. You made our upbringing something special. Without you, the Cloudmill family would just be dust in a storm. We have a lot to thank you for.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

But I didn’t have any money. I didn’t have time to give you all the attention you needed…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Listen mama, I’ve told you that you shouldn’t blame yourself… You’re the only person who thinks you’ve done something awful. Don’t take our happy childhood memories away from us now by saying such terrible things.

It’s only you who suffers from carrying all this terrible weight, and none of it is even true, so it’s wrong!

So stop this. Now. Just take a look at all the good things instead.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

If you say so.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Come on, shake it off! Just show me a smile and I’ll come and celebrate Christmas with you.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

…

Smile!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

There you go! I knew it! There was a little smile right there! Christmas is saved!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

Alex…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Yes, mother?

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

I love you too. Thank you for being here, you’re certainly the wisest of us Cloudmills. Thanks for taking time to cheer up your hopeless old mother…

Everything feels much better now.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Thanks…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

mrs_cloudmill

Look Alex, I think you have a visitor. Looks like that lovely horse girl over there wants something…

-.-.-.-.-.-.-

alex

Thanks for waiting a while… Mothers, huh?! They can be so down on themselves. They never seem to understand that you just love your parents whatever they do. They only ever want the best for us, we know that. Even if it’s not always right every time.

Ah well, I guess you didn’t come here to talk about mothers and families, right?

Quest completed

______________

Runestone News

alex

Oooh, the runestones, yeah. I usually measure their activity, but I’ve not had time recently.

I suppose it’s time I got out and took a look at them though…

I check the runestones so that I can calculate how active Pandoria is and whether there’s a strong flow between our reality and Pandoria’s unreality. This is crucial information for Fripp and the Keepers of Aideen.

Hmm… You’re pretty advanced and you’ve come a long way with the Lightning Circle. Maybe you could help me take the readings from the runestones? Talk to Elizabeth about it, just to make sure she’s okay with it. You’ll really be needing your own rune wand by now as well. Get permission from Elizabeth and fix up a rune wand and I’ll meet you tomorrow by that runestone there.

Objectives: Talk to Elizabeth in Valedale.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Leave the mall and find your way to Valedale to speak to Elizabeth outside her house.

elizabeth_sunbeam

I see that you’re traveling in the light of Aideen, Rita. Welcome back to my humble little village. What’s on your mind this time, my friend?

Quest completed

______________

Permission and a Wand

elizabeth_sunbeam

I can assure you that you have full permission from the Keepers of Aideen to support Alex and the others in their collection of runestone readings.

Come to think of it, we should have done this before now!

Rune wands are incredibly rare artifacts. You’ve been able to loan mine before now, but I can’t give it away. It’s time for you to have your own, but I think this is the kind of thing only Fripp can help you with. I know he’s incredibly busy right now with working out what we’re going to do next, as well as working out a safe way in and out of Pandoria.

He’ll have to find a little time to help you though.

Objectives: Ride to Fripp in the secret stone ring by riding in a spiral by the runestones above Elizabeth’s house.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Meet Fripp in the Secret Stonering.

fripp

Greetings Rita! Time is against us. The time before us was long and the time we have left is minimal. Don’t despair though! It’s right now in the moment that everything happens! You’re here now, are you not?

Quest completed

______________

A Trip to Fripp

fripp

And who really are you? Really? Who are you?

And what IS reality? Here and now? What is it?

My winding and weaving star alignments are spinning and splicing a pattern that I soon will be unable to deny… Do you know who you are…? No. Who could even answer such a question anyway…?

Fripp must weave and knit and stitch more patterns together… Sew and braid and think and fold and count and think and think and Fripp, Fripp, Fripp!

Rune wand, you say?

Objectives: Convince Fripp you need a rune wand. Now.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Don’t go getting all deeply philosophical and weird on me now, my little fuzzy friend…

fripp

Okay. If you say so. I suppose it’ll be quicker for me to just give you a wand rather than spend time telling you all the reasons why you shouldn’t have one.

I’ve seen in my timelines that you’ll have one later anyway. Later, in that which we most often call the future.

Quest completed

______________

A Rune Wand of Your Very Own

fripp

I’m going to open a very tiny fracture right now between Pandoria’s unreality and our reality. That’s where your rune wand should materialize. When you see it, hurry and grab it before the fracture needs to be closed again. Ready?

Objectives: Keep an eye on what’s happening. Be prepared to take the rune wand.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP, Rune Wand

Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen

Watch as a rift is opened and a rune wand rises out of it. Ride forward and click to take the wand. Once you have it, speak to Fripp and he will close the rift.

fripp

So there we are, Rita. Your very own rune wand. Take care of it now.

Off you go to the runestone where you’re supposed to meet Alex and learn about how to measure Pandoric activity.

Or was it tomorrow you were supposed to meet her?

Tomorrow… Yesterday, it’s all the same.

The lines cross all the time, lines, liney-winey, linery binary binary… Time is always wobbling and bending…

Quest completed

You can now leave the Secret Stonering and return to your business for the day.

Meet Alex by the glowing runestone on Paddock Island tomorrow.

Oh no! Where could it have got to? It’s not over here, and it’s not over there… Might it be in my other jeans?

Hey Rita, thank goodness you’re here! You haven’t seen my wallet around here, have you?

No? Ugh, look. I promise I won’t be angry, but might there be just a small chance that you maybe borrowed it?

No, of course I didn’t think you’d take it from me, I just felt like I had to ask.

Grr! Why does stuff like this always happen to e? Ugh…

What happened? Well, just the kind of usual regular old bad luck I always have, and now my wallet is missing. The worst thing of all is that all the money I had in it has gone as well! Someone’s stolen my whole life!

What’s the point in making all these great deals when someone just takes it all away from you afterwards? Grrr, as soon as I get hold of whoever took my wallet, I swear I’m gonna…

…Why do I think my wallet has been stolen? Easy answer. I’d never let it out of my sight for even half a second, especially not when there was tons of money in it. Someone’s taken it, there’s no two ways about it.

You think we should take a look around anyway, just in case I managed to drop it by accident?

Hmm, I guess you’re right. We’ll give it a go, but if we don’t find anything soon I’ll be ringing the police straight away. We can’t have thieves around here, it’s bad for business.

…

I’m dead certain I had it right here… You know what this means, Rita?!

Someone’s just swiped my phone as well! Hang on, what’s this?

Someone’s dropped a little piece of… Banana?

Is that not another little chunk of banana there as well? It is, isn’t it?

Looks like our thief likes a bit of fruit. He’ll not be getting away with it for much longer, mind you… Since you promised you’d help, you can ride off and follow that fruity trail!

Quest completed

______________

A Travelling Street Magician

isebell_figg

Oh my good giddy gracious, little sweet pea, I’m ever so terribly, awfully sorry. Seriously! I thought I’d told little Diggory here that he’s not to be monkeying around taking things that aren’t his, but I must say he turns into such a naughty, cheeky monkey when he gets bored.

Oh, the shame, my little angel, I’m so enormously sorry, I haven’t even introduced myself! My name is Isebell Figg, soon to be the greatest street magician of all time, and hopefully apprentice to the great Ydris. Ta-daaaa!

If I can perform real magic? Haha, oh silly little butterfly, of course I can’t. Besides, there’s no such thing as real magic, because street magic is all about creating illusions. I simply get you to believe you’ve seen something magical happening when in fact, it’s all just a fun trick. I’ve been dreaming of a day when I’ll get to work with that master of the magical arts, Ydris. Have you heard of him?

But good grief, what a beautiful little horse you have! Summerblaze, you say! What a sweetie! Mind if I have a bit of a pet? Ohhhh, what a cute and fluffy mane you have, angel!

Darling, I don’t remember asking your name…

Objectives: Talk to Isebell.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Introduce yourself to Isebell.

isebell_figg

How adorable! I love your name!

You and Summerblaze have got great stage names! I can see it now: “Ladies and gentlemen! Presenting the fabulous Rita and her big brave Summerblaze!”

Quest completed

______________

Back to Its Rightful Owner

isebell_figg

Sweetheart, I’m so unbelievable forgetful. Do forgive me, you said something about Diggory having taken something from your friend?

Is there a chance that it might be this here wallet? Oh gosh, there are even more things here, how awfully embarrassing! Haha!

There’s an ID card that seems to belong to some kind of security guard, and a couple of keys as well…

Listen, petal, be a treasure and leave these things back with the people to whom they belong, would you?

Thanks ever so, little icicle. Let them know from me that I’m truly, seriously, devastatingly sorry.

Pip pip!

Objectives: Return the stolen goods.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

The ID card goes back to the disco security guard, the keys to the notary, and the phone and wallet go back to James. Return to Isebell when all the items are back with their owners.

isebell_figg

Oh gosh my love, thank you.

Oh my, I’m really totally head over heels in love with Summerblaze! You’re the most beautiful horse I’ve ever seen with your lovely mane and those big beautiful eyes!

Quest completed

______________

Life is a Card Game

isebell_figg

Chickadee, I have the absolute, one hundred percent best idea ever! What do you say we start getting you trained up on the basics of being a street magician?!

I know, right? A tremendously tip-top idea! My little sugar plum, this will be the greatest day of your life!

You can get started by learning how to handle a card trick, because the card trick, princess, is the strongest tool in a street magician’s box! There’s always space to perform one, they’re super easy to carry and you can always do so much with them!

Okay, pumpkin, here’s the first card. The first thing we do is really eas–

NOO! My cards!! They’re flying away! Oh goodness, I must, must, MUST keeps a firmer grip on them, I should’ve known it’d be gusty here on the coast! Gosh darnit!

You’ll chase them and pick them up, you say?

My goodness me, you’re the sweetest! Thanks ever so much! Mwah!

Objectives: Gather the runaway cards then talk to Isebell.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Collect all the cards floating around the main area of the fort and near the stables, then return them to Isebell.

isebell_figg

Thanks ever so much, you’ve no idea how you’ve just saved my life there, angel.

Quest completed

______________

A Budding Magician’s Apprentice

isebell_figg

Okay little squirrel, here we go with your first card trick. First you let the person you’re about to perform the trick on see all your cards.

Then comes the tricky bit, letting the person take a card that they’re allowed to take a look at. Make sure you’re talking the whole time as you turn the cards in your hand upside down, like this.

When the person puts their card back into the pack, it’ll be the wrong way up compared with the rest of the cards. Clever, right?

To confuse the person even more, I usually say a few magic words, you know, make it sound like I’m casting a spell… Haha, you’ll do a great job, lamb chop! It sounds more complicated than it really is.

Here, take the cards and give it a go!

Objectives: Practice Isebell’s card trick, then talk to her.

Wow! Lovely work sweetheart! You and Summerblaze make a rather marvelous pair, perhaps you should try out a career in street magic? Or a magician on horseback?! Imagine the fame, honeybunch!

Even a Magician Needs Permission!

isebell_figg

Can I tell you a secret, little love? You know, between two magicians? Since I’ve introduced you to the ancient art of magic, of course you’re a magician now…

Yes, well, I’ve thought about organizing a show right here in Fort Pinta which will absolutely be positively one hundred percent remarkably remarkable!

Haha, you’re the sweetest, of course you like my idea. In any case, I need a very, very dull piece of paperwork to be able to hold the show. I swear if I was Ydris, I wouldn’t have needed a silly piece of paper…

Apparently it’s some James that I’ve to apply to with some kind of application fee to be able to get permission for the show.

Oh, you know James? Darling, I love you! Whatever would I have done if I didn’t get to meet you? I’d have been totally lost!

Could you take this envelope with the forms and the fee to James?

Oh, sweetie, you’re a total treasure! Mwah!

Objectives: Give James the payment.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Hand the paper to James and ask if you can have permission for the magic show.

Everyone Loves Magic!

james

Hmm… A magic show will attract even more tourists, because everyone loves magic! Of course she can have her show. More tourists here means more profit for me, and will probably make up for all the bad rumors that started about the thief.

You’ll ride back to her with the permission?

Great, see ya!

Objectives: Give the permission papers to Isebell.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

You want to? Oh, you’re a treasure!

Angel, would you be able to take the cutest, loveliest Summerblaze to the post office in Silverglade and pick up a delivery that should be there for me?

HERE! Here we go! Isebell Figg.

It’s great that you’ve come to get it, the delivery truck to Fort Pinta isn’t exactly reliable. You’ll only need to ask James about all the problems he’s had with them.

But yeah, here you go! A delivery for Isebell Figg. Hope you have a great day Rita!

Objectives: Give Isebell her things.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

I need help preparing for some of my magic tricks, as this will quite simply be the best show I’ve ever done . What makes a great show spectacular, sweetie?

You Can’t Be Confused and Refuse a Fuse!

isebell_figg

Darling, it’s incredibly important you listen carefully to me now. Lighting fireworks is no magic trick, it’s something anyone can do!

What we’re going to do is tie all the fuses together so that it becomes one big fuse that splits off each firework. That means we just need to light one fuse in order for all the fireworks to go off!

How I’ll light them without anyone seeing?

Haha, oh you little sweetie! We’ll get to that, we’ll get to that… Would you be able to get started on tying up the fuses with each other?

Thanks ever so much, sweetness.

What’s the best way to get the word out?

Abra… Cadabra… Hocus… POCUS! Ta-daa!

Haha, you’re adorable, of course it’s not real magic. I’ll tell you my secret: I already had these flyers printed and ready to go since last week, but I got you to think I was actually magical, which is what you do as a magician – it’s all about the illusion!

Would you be a total diamond and see to it that these are handed out to everyone in Fort Pinta?

Money in the Hat!

isebell_figg

I’m so one hundred percent, absolutely, positively super happy that I could just explode, sweetie! Are you happy too? What a show we put on together!

Usually it would be Diggory that runs around the crowd with my hat, collecting money from those who wish to pay for seeing the show, but today it’s down to you!

Haha, you’re the sweetest. It’s not hard at all, just ride around with the hat and people will drop money into it if they want to.

You can keep the hat if you like, I have my own so I don’t need it.

Sweetie, I’m absolutely, one hundred percent, insanely happy. The tourists here in Fort Pinta seemed to really love our show, but most fantastic of all was you darling! You were so incredibly fabulous — you’ve clearly got magic within you!

Quest completed

______________

Clearing Away Every Trace

isebell_figg

Okay, pumpkin, now all that’s left to do is clear up. After every show, you’ve got to make sure to pick up after yourself, and while it’s not the most exciting thing in the world, with your help, it’ll be done in two shakes of a lamb’s tail! We’re really not supposed to leave any traces of what we’ve been up to here.

You’re quite simply a star for helping, thanks love!

Just pick up what’s left of the rockets and place them in this wooden box.

Thanks sweetie! Mwah!

Objectives: Help Isebell clear up.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Speak to James in Fort Pinta to begin your retail adventure.

Taking the Bus to Jorvik City Plaza!

james

Hi Rita. Sigh.

Why am I sighing? Hmm… Almost all of the clothes I have in stock to sell to the tourists here are sold out. I guess it’s a pretty nice problem to have, since it means I’ve already sold lots of stuff, but it’s still a problem…

Before now, I’ve always been able to order new clothes and have the delivered from Jorvik City, but lately it’s not been going very well. All the packages of clothes seem to be getting lost, like by the roadside and so on, which means I don’t end up with anything to sell. I should really head over to Jorvik City now and pick up some new stock, but who’d be here taking care of all the tourists if I went there?

So, yeah… Rita… Might you be able to do me a favor? Could you go to the mall for me and pick up the things I’ve ordered? The mall? Yeah, Jorvik City Plaza, Jorvik’s biggest shopping mall!

You’ll go? Amazing! Thanks Rita! You could probably also pick up the horse gear I’ve ordered as well. Y’know, while you’re there…

How do you get to Jorvik City Plaza? It’s easy! All you have to do is take the bus. There’s even a bus stop right here in Fort Pinta!

But… You need a bus ticket. Unfortunately, every bus ticket can only be used by the person who bought it, otherwise I’d lend you mine.

It’s easy to buy your own though. The Notary here in Fort Pinta sells bus tickets, so buy one from him. When you’ve bought it, you activate it in the machine here behind me.

I haven’t really got the time to carry on chatting now Rita, business calls! So, buy a bus ticket and activate it in the machine behind me.

Objectives: Get a bus ticket. If you don’t already have one, you can buy one from the Notary in Fort Pinta. Activate your bus ticket in the machine behind James, then return to talk to James again.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Bus tickets cost 110 Jorvik Shillings, but need only be purchased once. After you buy it, you can keep it in your inventory for every time you want to ride the bus (you need the ticket to use the bus, such as the key for the secret Greendale treehouse, or ticket for Ydris’ Circus).

When you buy the ticket, dismount your horse and use it on the activation machine, then speak to James.

james

Have you got a bus ticket now, Rita? Good. And you’ve activated it as well?

Splendid! Then it’s off to Jorvik City Plaza!

Quest completed

______________

To Jorvik City in No Time!

james

Excellent Rita! Now you’ve got a bus ticket, and it’s validated as well! Believe me, those bus drivers can spot an invalid ticket from a mile away!

Hurry off to the mall now, though; no time to waste! The bus leaves from the other side of the bridge to Fort Pinta. All you need to do is go there and wait for the bus to come. Show your ticket to the driver, and then he’ll drive you to the mall in no time at all!

Don’t hang out there for too long, just think of all the customers I won’t be able to trick… Umm… I mean, make happy during all the time you’re away if I haven’t got anything to sell!

Seeya!

Objectives: Take the bus to the mall in Jorvik City. The bus leaves from the bus stop on the other side of the bridge into Fort Pinta. The bus leaves every few minutes so you might have to wait a short while if you’ve just missed one.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 15 with Jorvik City Plaza

Wait by the bus stop. There is a countdown timer on the bus sign that will tell you when the next bus will arrive. When the bus pulls up, dismount your horse, and use your ticket from your inventory.

When you arrive at the mall, look around near the door for someone who must surely know what’s going on here…

janitor

Hey! You there! Yeah, you! Can’t you see I just mopped that floor?

Kids these days… Sigh… No respect for their elders.

Quest completed

______________

No Respect for My Craft

janitor

Well well, what can I do for you then? You’re picking up stuff for James in Fort Pinta, you say?

Heh! Well you’re certainly not the first victim he’s sent to do his work for him, all because he’s too cheap to buy his own bus ticket, he sends other people he sends here to do his heavy lifting. Who do you think has to take care of all these little lost sheep he sends here?

Exactly! It’s me! But now I’ve had enough! I can’t be bothered to help you as well as all the others, you’ll have to look after yourself!

Sigh. Okay, since you ask so nicely… You can help me with something in return though, first.

You’ll be happy to help me, you say?! Well that’s great! Maybe you’re not as useless as all these other pushovers James sends…

As you can see, the floor here’s completely spotless. Not a bad job, if I do say so myself! Sadly, people just walk all over it any which way they please, but we’re going to put a stop to that. They act like they own the place, they never show any respect for my hard work. Pff.

Here, set out these warning signs where I’ve just mopped, and maybe the floor will be able to stand up to their filth for at least a little while.

Go on, get out of here. Place out the signs and don’t come back before it’s done.

Objectives: Set out the warning signs around the mall.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Reputation: 20 with Jorvik City Plaza

Place the warning signs around the first and second floors of the mall, then return to the Janitor when you are done.

janitor

Yeah, yeah, that’s not so dumb. Maybe there’s hope for you yet.

Quest completed

______________

All Those Other Sheep in the Mall

janitor

Hmm, did you think you were finished?

Haha, no. I knew you’d think you were finished, you’re a total lazybones just like everyone else who visits my mall!

You’re not a lazybones, you say? Okay, well let’s see about that. You can have a chance to prove you’re not a sleepy little slacker like all the others; spoiled little princesses wandering around like they own the place, leaving all their garbage behind them.

Rude is what they are! Rude and vile! When I tell the boss about the rude, vile pigs, all I hear is “you should smile at the customers.”

Bah! If it was up to me, I’d keep all of them out of the mall and then there’d finally be a bit of order round here. Ah well, until that day comes, somebody’s gonna have to pick up all the rubbish they throw everywhere and today, that somebody isn’t going to be me. Ha!

Pick up all the garbage you find lying around the place and then maybe I’ll help you. Go on! Get moving! Scram!

Objectives: Pick up the trash from around the mall and then return to the Janitor.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 15 with Jorvik City Plaza

Well, if you close the mall to everyone, when who’s going to pay your wages, Mr Janitor? Didn’t think of that now, huh??

janitor

Good. You’ve done a really nice job.

Okay, you seem to be a little better bred than some of the other nitwits that hang around here at the mall. I’ll help you.

Quest completed

______________

Faster Than a Runaway Horse

janitor

Well, you surely know how that James works. Last time he was here, he tried to get me to buy a time-share apartment in one of the towers of Fort Pinta. It wasn’t even built, it didn’t even have planning permission, but he still tried to get me to put down a deposit that was enough money to have bought half of Valedale! Pffff.

I seem to remember letting him know exactly what I thought of him at the time. Haha! I’ve never seen anyone run so fast!

Haha! He must’ve run all the way back to Fort Pinta faster than a bolting horse! Since then, he’s never dared show his face around here, which is probably why that wretched little rat sent you instead…

Ah well, James orders clothes from Gordon at the clothes store over there. Talk to Gordon, he’s a friendly sort and can probably do something for you.

Come back to me with the clothes delivery once you’ve got it. No point carrying around a huge heavy pile of clothes while you’re hear. I’ll look after them until you’re ready to ride back to James.

Objectives: Talk to Gordon in the Mall’s clothes store.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 10 with Jorvik City Plaza

The clothes store is on the first floor of the mall.

gordon

Hello! Welcome to Jorvik City Plaza’s clothes store! The biggest clothes store in all of Jorvik!

If you want to try on some of our fabulous outfits, all you need to do is go into the fitting room over there and check out our collections!

Clothes delivery to James? Oh right. I thought you wanted to buy something.

Oh well.

Hmm… Now let’s see…

Exactly! James’ order… I have it in the stock room, wait a second and I’ll grab it for you.

Quest completed

______________

Track Back the Backpack

gordon

Ah. Hmm.

I lock the door to the stock room every evening. I always have the keys in my backpack since I’m forever losing little things like keys and coins, so the backpack helps me remember where everything is. Hold on, I’ll just grab it.

Hmm…

Where’s my backpack?

No! I must’ve left it somewhere!

Oh no… This means I can’t get into the stock room…

Would you be able to help me? My backpack must be around here somewhere. Could you take a look around the mall and see if you can find it?

Objectives: Find Gordon’s backpack somewhere in the mall, then return to him at the clothes store.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 10 with Jorvik City Plaza

Seriously, what is with people losing keys and stuff all the time??

gordon

Amazing! You found my backpack!

Haha, you’ll never guess what happened while you were away. I’d forgotten to lock the door to the stock room, so I didn’t need the key in the backpack in the end. It’s really nice of you to help me though!

Seems like forgetting to lock the stock room was pretty lucky in the end. I found time to pick out the items on James’ order while you were out looking for my backpack.

Quest completed

______________

Half a Ton of Clothes

gordon

Here, who was supposed to get the order again? James! Of course, that’s how it was.

Hmm… Are you sure you don’t need to go to the mall Janitor first? Everyone else who James sends seems to go to him, and I can understand why! This order must weight half a ton! You won’t want to wander around with all that extra weight if you don’t need to!

Objectives: Return to the mall Janitor with the clothes.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 20 with Jorvik City Plaza

Take the stuff back to the Janitor.

janitor

Hello again! So you got James’ clothes order? It’s quite heavy, right? Thought so! His orders usually are.

I’ll look after everything here while you get the rest of James’ stuff!

Quest completed

______________

Jorvik City Plaza: Horse Equipment Store

janitor

So, James sent you to pick up the horse equipment he ordered?

Right. He must’ve ordered it from Alyx, she’s the owner of the horse equipment store here in Jorvik City Plaza. Go and talk to her, and then come back once you’ve got the delivery. I’ll keep my eye on it for you until you’re ready to go back to James with it, if you leave it with me. No point wandering around with a bunch of heavy saddles and stuff if you don’t have to.

Objectives: Talk to Alyx in the horse equipment store.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 10 with Jorvik City Plaza

The horse equipment store is on the first floor of the mall.

alyx

Welcome to Jorvik’s biggest equipment store! How can I help you?

Equipment for James? Oh! You’re here to pick up his order? That’s a shame.

Quest completed

______________

What Old JB Says

alyx

I thought that I’d do James a favor, so I sent his delivery of on its way. It was only a couple minutes ago that I sent it, so you’re lucky!

You don’t look happy. You won’t have to carry it anymore, cheer up!

Haha! You’re strange. Why do you want to do loads of work if you can get away with not doing it?

You promised him, you say? Oh, okay.

If you hurry, you might catch up with JB before he sets off from the mall.

Who’s JB?

He’s the driver that takes all the deliveries to Silverglade. He usually stops for a cup of coffee before he gets out on the road in his truck. Hurry over to the cafe and you might just catch him.

See you! Come back soon!

Objectives: Talk to JB the driver at the mall cafe.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 15 with Jorvik City Plaza

You’ll find JB by the cafe counter, with a big crate next to him. He’s the weirdo that refers to himself in third-person…

jack_b

Stop.

Hold it one second… Back up, back up. Let JB drink his coffee in peace before he goes back to putting his life on the line out on the roads of Jorvik.

Shhh…

…

Hmm… This isn’t coffee! This is… TEA!

Everyone just calm down! JB is here, just take it easy.

Y’know what old JB would say when this kind of thing happens?

What?! You don’t know who JB is? I”M JB!

What’s you name? Rita. Mhm, well it doesn’t matter anyway. I’ve got a job for you. Get me some coffee. With milk. Don’t forget the milk!

Quest completed

We’ll need to find some coffee with milk somewhere around here… Speak to the cashier at the cafe, Clementine. Maybe she can help?

Mall Dishes

clementine

Hello there! Do you have a moment?

Would you be able to help me with something? I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t urgent.

Thanks!

So it’s like this: all the customers that order from the cafe don’t just sit nicely at their tables, and instead wander off around the mall with my cups and saucers and just leave them randomly lying around the place.

Because of this, I’m almost out of dishes to serve things in, and I’m on my own here so I can’t leave the cafe to pick them all up.

I’d be able to stay here and serve the guests if you wouldn’t mind going around the mall and gathering up all the dishes…

Thanks so much! This is super nice of you.

Objectives: Find all the dishes left behind around the mall.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP, Coffee with Milk

Reputation: 25 with Jorvik City Plaza

Geez, the nerve of some people!

Collect all the dishes, then return to Clementine.

clementine

Great! You found all the dishes that disappeared from the cafe!

Thanks a lot!

Quest completed

Now trade your cup of coffee with JB. Hopefully that will perk him up.

Call the Councilman After Sunrise

jack_b

Ha!

Now I’m ready! Time to get out onto the open road again. Keep the home fires burning and if I’m not back by sunrise, call the Councilman!

What now? A delivery for James, you ask?

Of course! It’s right here beside me. You can trust old JB, my deliveries always get where they’re going! Door to door! Last month I managed to drive off the bridge to Fort Pinta only THREE times! Three! That’s a new record!

You can tell James that JB’s on his way!

You’ll take the order to James, you say? Oh, okay. Less work for me, I suppose! Take it!

Objectives: Pick up the delivery next to JB and take it to the Janitor.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 20 with Jorvik City Plaza

Open the box to pick up James’ stuff and bring it to the Janitor.

janitor

Looks like you got the horse equipment James ordered! I’ll keep an eye on it until you’re ready to head back to Fort Pinta.

Quest completed

If you want to continue shopping and exploring the mall, do not start the next quest, as it will send you back to Fort Pinta. If you are ready to leave, then by all means…

Back to James

janitor

So there we go, no you’ve got both the deliveries James wanted. Come back to the mall tomorrow if you want, but wipe your feet on the way in, I don’t want more dirty feet tramping over my nice clean floors!

I hope you get something from James for all the trouble you’ve gone to.

Not likely, but now you’ve got yourself a bus ticket, you’ll be able to come back here whenever you like.

See you soon!

Okay, okay, you can have something. Hold on, lemme see what I’ve got in this box…

Here, this is probably nice or something, you’ll like it. Now you’ll have to excuse me, I’ve got business to attend to.

a sloppy dock worker, a warm welcome, angus, borrowed tools, builder donald, daisy, filling the ink, forgetful angus, james, not easy with a sprained leg, one step closer, time to build, what's up with the t-shirts, where's the nails, zed

There is a new person in town in Jarlaheim. He has a shop he wants help setting up. Speak to him near the town square.

A Warm Welcome

zed

Are you the one that’s supposed to help me with my shop? Excellent!

What’s your name, by the way? Rita? Cool name! I’m Zed, and I’m the store manager of the new shop opening up in Jarlaheim. In my opinion, there’s way too little rock ‘n’ roll in these parts, so I thought I’d open up a shop with punk inspired clothing? Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I have tons of marketing work to do prior to the opening, and was hoping you could help me get this thing started?

Oh, cool! How nice of you to help me!

First I’ll show you where the store’s gonna be located. Come, let me show you!

Objectives: Find Zed, he’ll show you where the new store’s going to be located.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings 10 XP

Find Zed near the Heavy Metal Scissors salon, which is on the rear alley on the north side of Jarlaheim.

zed

Here we go! This is the spot where we’re gonna set up shop. Gonna be awesome, right?!

Let’s roll!!

Quest completed

______________

Borrowed Tools

zed

Now that you know where the stall’s gonna be, we need to get started on the assembly of it. I don’t have any tools for these things, but I know Builder Donald has plenty of tools we might have use for. Couldn’t you get over there and ask him nicely if we might borrow them?

Off you go! Have a chat with the old man and let’s hear what he has to say.

Objectives: Ask Donald about the tools you want to borrow.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride to the west gate and speak to Builder Donald near his house there.

mr_bucket

Hi there, Rita! You want to borrow some of my tools?

Sure you can, no problem! Let’s see… You want to borrow a hammer and a crowbar? Oh… I don’t have those at the moment.

Quest completed

______________

Forgetful Angus

mr_bucket

Angus Goldspur has them. That lazy son of a gun should have returned them ages ago, but he’s probably… Forgotten. Or something.

I recommend you speak to Angus, he shouldn’t be needing those tools any further. Travel to the Goldspur estates and hear what he has to say. Give him my regards as well, I don’t want him to think I’ve forgotten.

Ha ha! No, leave that be. I’m just yanking your chain.

Objectives: Travel to the Goldspur estates and speak to Angus about the tools.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Speak with Angus up at the Goldspur farm.

angus_goldspur

Welcome back, Rita! Been a while since I saw you, what do you want this time?

Borrow Builder Donald’s tools? I’ve almost forgotten about those trashy old tools. *cough*

Of course you can borrow them! As long as Donald has agreed to it. After all they are his, and I don’t need them any more.

Quest completed

______________

One Step Closer

angus_goldspur

So, here they are!

Now that you’ve got the tools, you should continue whatever you were doing. What was that, exactly? Oh? You’re opening a new store? Exciting! I think you should return to Zed and tell him you’ve got the tools needed to assemble this stall.

Good luck!

Objectives: Travel to Jarlaheim and speak to Zed.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Return to Zed with the tools.

zed

Nice! We’re one step closer to being finished. Excellent!

Let me just check that we have everything we need to start building.

Quest completed

______________

Where’s the Nails?

zed

Know what, Rita? What a blunder. My little noggin’s not working properly at times. I’ve lost the nails I had earlier, clever huh? I think I lost them when I carried home some tools for my dad. I was simply dragging around too much.

Oh well. Even I make blunders from time to time. At least I know I’ve lost the nails here in Jarlaheim somewhere. Have a look around and you’ll probably find them.

Objectives: Locate packs of nails in and around Jarlaheim.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Search the indicated locations to find all of the missing nails. When you have them all, return to Zed.

zed

You found them? Awesome! Then we can finally start building. It’s about time!

Quest completed

______________

Time to Build!

zed

Now that we have everything prepared, it’s time to get this thing assembled. Wish I could help you, but I suck at these things. I’m just good at music these days. Everything you need can be found in this heap, at least. Just use a hammer or whatever, and everything will be fine!

Objectives: Assemble the stall for opening.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Dismount your horse and use the tools in your inventory to build the shop stand. When you are finished, speak to Zed.

zed

Finished already? Clever girl… And fast too! This will be perfect, I think we’ll get lots of fans.

Quest completed

______________

What’s Up With the T-Shirts?

zed

We have a few things that needs to be done. I’ve ordered t-shirts for the store from our printer Daisy, who’s also my awesome girlfriend. She’s really good at fixing rad prints for clothing, we’re gonna have tons more stuff like this from her in the future. I’m really lucky to have such a skilled girlfriend who can fix me up with stuff like this!

Anyhow, I haven’t spoken to her all day, and I’d like to know how the tees are coming along. If they’re like, finished and stuff. Go speak to her. She’ll be by the cafe at the docks below Jarlaheim. Let’s hope she’s done already!

Objectives: Ask Daisy about the T-shirts.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Find Daisy at the top of the stairs coming from the ferry dock.

daisy

Hi girl, who are you? Oh, you’re working with my sweet Zed? Cool!

What’s up with the tees? Well, they’re moving along, not far from being done. The only problem is that I’ve run out of ink…

Quest completed

______________

Not Easy with a Sprained Leg

daisy

This is how it goes, Rita.

I need to get more ink, but you see, I’ve sprained my leg. Things can get pretty wild at rock concerts, but you probably don’t know what I’m talking about. Oh well. Anyhow, I’ve placed an order for ink and I think it’s been transported to the docks at Fort Pinta. Speak to the one responsible for the transport, and he’ll give you the colors.

I know it’s a bit far, but we have ferries now, why don’t you take a ride with them? They’re pretty cool, and the trip is so much faster.

There’s a ferry that goes to Fort Pinta from the docks here. If you don’t want to, you could always ride there. Do as you like, it’s just a suggestion.

It would be really nice if you helped me!

Objectives: Collect the ink in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Speak with James in Fort Pinta, he should know where the ink is.

james

Hi there!

Are you here for the ink I’m delivering to Daisy?

Quest completed

______________

A Sloppy Dock Worker

james

The ink is supposed to be in one of the barrels on the pier below Fort Pinta. I’ve accidentally mixed them all together, so I can’t tell which one contains your ink. But have a look around, and I’ sure you’ll find it!

Objectives: Find the right ink.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride down to the docks and inspect the barrels scattered around there. When you have found the one containing the ink, return to James.

james

You finally found the ink, excellent! I’m sorry for the trouble, I’ll keep better track of the barrels next time.

Quest completed

______________

Filling the Ink

james

There you go, everything’s ready.

Thank you for coming so quickly. Would have been boring to wait here all day. But that didn’t happen! Return to Daisy and give her the ink, I think she needs it as quickly as possible.

So long!

Objectives: Return to Jarlaheim and give Daisy the ink.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Return to Daisy via your own preferred method and speak to her by the docks.

daisy

Oh, nice! You got the ink! Now I can finally start coloring the tees. I can safely say they’re gonna be super awesome!

It’ll take some time. The tees need to dry as well. Have patience, girl! Come back tomorrow and they’ll be done and dry. I’ll get to work straight away.

Bye for now, peace!

Quest completed

Return to Daisy tomorrow.

a big thank you from ferdinand and eddie, bored horses at the market, caution fall hazard, eddie, ferdinand, horses on the loose, james, rent for the horse market in fort pinta, report back to base, security

The following quests are only available when the market is at Fort Pinta.

Bored Horses at the Market

ferdinand

Dearest Rita, it’s really lovely that you’ve come to visit us. You’re a little ray of sunshine sent to brighten up our day, believe me! If you have some time on your hands, maybe you could help me with a little errand? Oh, wonderful Rita, you’re too kind!

Y’know, our horses are a bit bored after travelling all the way here on the barge; there’s not really very much for them to do. I thought maybe if we could give them some sugar lumps it might improve their mood! The security guard here in Fort Pinta is an old friend of ours, perhaps you could ask him if he has a few sugar lumps spare for us?

Thanks Rita, come back when you’ve got the sugar lumps and you’ll see that the horses will be in a much better mood!

Objectives: Ask the security guard at Fort Pinta for some sugar lumps.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride up to the entrance to the disco and speak with Security there.

security

WHAT?!

Sugar?! Sugar?!

Here, as Allied soldiers tumble down the cliffs like lemmings, you’re asking for sugar?

Quest completed

______________

Caution: Fall Hazard!

security

TEN-HUT!

Sugar… I hardly think you’d find any sugar here. In the middle of a terrible natural catastrophe we don’t exactly have the time for such civil frivolities! Right this second we’re in the midst of a disaster of apocalyptic proportions that frankly demands the total engagement and dedication of everybody involved!

What do you mean why am I so upset?! UPSET?!

Hmm? Calm down? Me?

Err…

Yes, well, yesterday as I was patrolling the base and inspecting the fortifications to ensure infiltrators couldn’t get in and that no tourists got lost in the fort, I almost walked right off the edge of the cliff! I was peering through my binoculars to check for enemies as I patrolled and didn’t exactly notice that I was so close to the edge. I was an inch from toppling right over into the sea, and it was only my superior commando training that saved me! What kind of training? Umm…

Yes! I was actually the Jorvik junior tap champion when I was younger… That’s actually really very much like commando training if you don’t mind!

ANYWAY! Now I’ve made these marvelous hazard signs that must be erected so that the same thing doesn’t happen to some standard civilian. Private Rita! ATTENTION! You’re hereby ordered to install these signs in appropriate locations along the fortifications.

MOVE OUT! FORWAAARD MARCH!

Objectives: Put up the hazard signs around Fort Pinta and come back to talk to the security guard.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride around the fort and place the signs in the indicated locations, then return to Security when you are finished.

security

ATENNN-SHUN!

Are all the hazard signs in place?

Quest completed

______________

Report Back to Base

security

TEN-HUT! Don’t just stand here loitering, Private Rita. Here’s your sugar just as we agreed. Report back t General Ferdinand immediately. Between you and me, I’ll be recommending you for a medal for your heroic contribution here today.

Hmm…

MOVE OUT! FORWAAAARD MARCH!

Objectives: Ride to Ferdinand with the sugar lumps.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Return to Ferdinand with the sugar cubes.

ferdinand

Ooh, I see you’ve got sugar lumps with you! Now our horses are going to cheer right up, I’m sure.

Quest completed

______________

Horses on the Loose

ferdinand

Oh no Rita, not again! All the horses have gotten loose!

Dear, oh dear, when they got the sugar lumps they cheered right up… Maybe they got a bit too cheerful. After being stuck on the barge for so long, they all went bananas when they got the sugar and just ran away.

Sure, they needed some activity but they can’t just bolt like that. This happens every time we come to Fort Pinta. I reckon they were just bluffing when they looked so down in the mouth earlier; they knew they’d get sugar from me and then they ran away. I could swear they’ve gone and hidden themselves in the fort, just as they always do.

Can you look for them Rita? If you find them, they’ll come back here afterwards. Sometimes it drives me crazy when they’re this naughty, but I suppose it would get awfully dull without a little drama, don’t you think?

Good luck Rita, and don’t forget to have a really good look, they’re surprisingly good at hiding themselves, these nutty nags!

Objectives: Find all the horses that have hidden themselves in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Find all of the horses hiding in the fort. There are several places they could be, though it is different for each player. Some of the locations include: inside the disco (you will have to dismount to approach this horse), up on top of the fort, near the stable, near the fort statue, near the hairdresser, on the pony barge. Their locations will be indicated on your map, so they should not be too hard to find.

Simply approach the horse to ‘find’ it. When all of the horses have been found,  return to Ferdinand.

ferdinand

Haha, you did good Rita. All the horses have returned. We won’t be falling for their monkey business again next time we come here, let me tell you!

Quest completed

______________

Rent for the Horse Market in Fort Pinta

eddie

Hi Rita, do you think you can help me with an errand? I haven’t got time to leave the market right now, but I need to pay the rent. You’re someone I trust, so I can rely on you to deliver this envelope of Jorvik Shillings? It needs to get to James in Fort Pinta, which shouldn’t take long for an expert rider like you.

You’d do that for me? Thanks Rita!

Objectives: Give the envelope of Jorvik Shillings to James in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 100 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Ride up to James and deliver the envelope for Eddie.

james

Hey there Rita. You’re here with the rent from Ferdinand and Eddie? Great!

Quest completed

______________

A Big Thank You From Ferdinand and Eddie

ferdinand

Dearest Rita, you’ve really been a huge help for us here in Fort Pinta. If you hadn’t helped us to find all the horses, we’d have been forced to search for the all night long.

Eddie and I had a little chat earlier on, and we both decided that we wanted to give you a gift, you know, to say thanks for all you’ve done for us. Eddie has been fixing it up and I think she’s finished now. You go talk to her and you’ll get a really lovely present from us, and nope, I’m saying nothing about what it is. That would only spoil the surprise! So long, dearest Rita, see you soon.

Objectives: Talk to Eddie at the horse market.

Rewards: 150 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP, Smart Polo Shirt

Reputation: 500 with Ferdinand’s Horse Market

Go and speak to Eddie.

eddie

Hi Rita! Now you get to see what I’ve fund for you in our caravan. It’s so lovely, it was embroidered by an old friend of ours and I wore it a lot when I was younger. It doesn’t really suit my beautiful body these days, hehe! But here, it’ll look perfect on you. Here you go! See you soon Rita.

Check Out the Greendale Race

molly

Hi there, Rita! Indeed, I’ve heard of you. You have really been of aid on the farms around here, and for that, Angus and Idun wanted me to show you the Greendale Race.

It’s quite challenging, but you don’t need to be jumping. If you know how to jump, the challenging is a bit easier, but all obstacles can be tackled without. Keep a look out for the flags, and you’ll find the way.

Good luck!

Objectives: Finish the race.

Rewards: 300 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Run the track through the Greendale forest and speak to Molly when you complete it.

molly

Well ridden! What did you think of the Greendale Race? Do you want to go again?

Quest completed

You can now run the Greendale race as a daily race.

Return to Angus when you are Popular with the Goldspur Family.

There is a new face to meet at the Silverglade Winery. Speak to the Baroness about where you could find him.

My Third Cousin’s Second Cousin Thrice Removed Needs Assistance

baroness

Rita dearest, would you be able to help me with a tiny matter? You see, a distant relative of mine has arrived the mansion and asked me to help fulfill his dream. I would love to help him, but I simply don’t have the time for it. Being such a resourceful person, maybe you could do it for me?

Thanks Rita, you’re truly a great help. You can find my relative, Karl Franz of Silver Fork, somewhere close by. Ride to him and put yourself to his disposal. What he wants? I believe he wanted to open a restaurant here if I’m not mistaken. You’ll have to ask him yourself, Rita. See you later.

Objectives: Locate Karl Franz at the Vineyard.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Karl can be found on the other side of the Manor building, in the courtyard by the water fountain.

karl_franz

Good day my dear. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with? Rita, quite the exotic name for here on the island of my ancestors. It is so exciting to finally be here! I’m going to start a restaurant here, you understand. Why? If there is anything I can possibly offer to this island it is the culinary arts from the continent, and I definitely want to do my part for the island where my ancestors lived and died.

Wait! Nooo! All of my orders are blowing away!

Quest completed

______________

A New Restaurant

karl_franz

Oh no… And I thought I’d prepared everything perfectly… What paper it was? Sigh. It was the order for tables, chairs, cushions, table cloth, chinaware… Everything one needs to start a restaurant. That and all my notes on appetizers, warm dishes, desserts, and which wines would go with everything. I’ve planned this for several years, noted down every little detail… And now I’ve lost it all!

If I may have a copy on my computer? Unfortunately, no. I don’t trust modern appliances, and writing on a keyboard is so inelegant. No. Give me an old-fashioned fountain pen and proper paper! If I’ve copied my notes some time? No, I don’t trust modern appliances, I told you. What if the copy machine swalled my notes?! Then they’d be gone forever!

What do we do now? Maybe you can find my notes? You can?! Thanks!

I’ll just wait here. Good luck!

Objectives: Locate all of Karl Franz’s notes that blew away and hand them back to him.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Glad for the help, sir… Since you couldn’t hold on to your own darn papers…

The notes are blowing around on the Manor grounds. Catch all three papers and return to Karl.

karl_franz

All my notes! Huzzah! You’re a true friend Rita, I bow my head to you. I will never forget this.

Listen, could you help me give these orders to the right people here in Jorvik? Unfortunately I don’t know anyone here and I don’t want to be duped. You can? Thanks! Take a look at these.

Quest completed

______________

An Order for Tables and Chairs

karl_franz

Here’s an order for tables and chairs. Look, do you notice I’ve made designs and sketches for everything? It’ll be perfect! Who do you think can make tables and chairs on this island? Conrad Marsdeen, the smith? Never heard of him.

Is he good? Best on the island you say? Alright, then he is precisely the one you’ll give this order to.

Here’s a note with the order, design blueprints and thoughts I’ve noted down during the years. Using these he’ll get it precisely the way I want it.

Good luck!

Objectives: Give the order for tables and chair to Conrad Marsdeen, the smith in Moorland.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride or transport to Moorland and speak to Conrad at his forge.

conrad_marsdeen

An order for tables and chairs for a restaurant? Hmm…

Quest completed

______________

The Smith Follows No Blueprint

conrad_marsdeen

All these sketches and other kinds of paper… The only thing they’re good for is feeding the fire in my forge. I’ll craft the finest tables and chairs Jorvik’s ever seen, but I never follow anyone else’s blueprints. This is how it’s always been and ever will be.

Tell Karl Franz his order will be done by tomorrow. Tables and chairs of the best quality will await him when he wakes up.

Goodbye, Rita.

Objectives: Ride back to Karl Franz and tell him his tables and chairs will be delivered tomorrow.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Return to Karl and tell him the news.

karl_franz

Hi, how did it go with the smith? He tossed away my designs? Oh no!

You think everything will be fine? Sigh. Alright then, we’ll just have to hope for the best.

Quest completed

______________

An Order for Cushions and Table Cloth

karl_franz

To make my guests sit puffier than puff, I’ve studied chair cushions extensively for years. And now I’ve finally succeeded designing the perfect cushion! It’s amazingly lovely to sit upon, and divinely beautiful. Do you know of anyone who could manufacture them here in Jorvik?

The tailor in Silverglade Village, you say? Don’t know him, but if you have faith in his craft I’ll pass him the order. Here’s the drawings for the cushions and a fabulous pattern from which to sew them. Ask him to only use the best materials available. Don’t forget!

Good luck!

Objectives: Give the order for chair cushions and table cloth to the tailor in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride or transport to Silverglade Village and speak to Donald the tailor.

donald

An order for chair cushions and table cloth? Well, I don’t have that much in need of doing right now, I think I can manage it.

Quest completed

______________

Perfect Cushions and Table Cloth. Or Not

donald

Let me see these drawings. Hmm…

These cushions will be incredibly beautiful. Truly a masterly design. World class!

Unfortunately I cannot make them… I lack all the materials he specifies, and I’ve never even heard of this sewing technique using triple overlock. I’ll do the best I can, it’ll work out nicely, just wait and see.

The table cloth? Well, I’ll take some nice-looking left over fabrics and make some adjustments. It’ll be fine, I think… I hope.

Tell Karl Franz I’ll deliver his order tomorrow.

Objectives: Ride back to Karl Franz and tell him the order for cushions and table cloth is due by tomorrow.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Return to Karl and tell him about the cushions.

karl_franz

How did it go with the tailor, Rita? Oh? He couldn’t sew the cushions after my specifications… But he was going to do his best? Do you think he’ll pull through, Rita? You look doubtful.

I’m starting to get nervous.

Quest completed

______________

Order for Chinaware and Decorations

karl_franz

When I serve my guests I want them to dine on the best kitchenware there is. They’ll have the finest cutlery and drink of the finest glassware. Here’s a list I’ve compiled over the years containing the best I’ve seen, detailing precisely what I’m looking for. Then there’s a list of elegant vases, pictures and other things in which I want to use to decorate the restaurant to give it that important exclusive atmosphere.

Do you know of someone who could find all of this for me? James? Who’s that? A guy who can fix most everything you say? Alright. He seems like the one to receive this order, then. Give it to him.

Good luck.

Objectives: Give the order for chinaware and decorations to James in Fort Pinta.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride or transport to Fort Pinta and speak with James.

james

Chinaware and decorations? Let me see that list.

Hmm… This will be expensive. Lovely!

Quest completed

______________

Expensive Isn’t Always Best

james

Let’s have a look at this list. Hmm…

That I don’t have. Nor that. No. Not that either.

Actually, I don’t have anything of what he’s written down in his list, but I can procure chinaware and decorations just as good. No problem, you can trust me!

It’s gonna be expensive. But if your name is Karl Franz, I take it that money isn’t an issue, I get that.

Let’s see… It says here, “One hundred crystal glasses from Paris’s best glass maker.” I’ll borrow some water glasses from the disco, that’ll do.

“Ten antique vases from the Ming dynasty.” I’ll just take a few buckets from the stable. He won’t notice the difference.

Oh, you’re still here, Rita? I have to work, but tell him I’ll make the delivery tomorrow.

Objectives: Ride back to Karl Franz and tell him the delivery of chinaware and decorations will arrive in the morning.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Return to Karl and tell him about the decorations.

karl_franz

How did it go, Rita? Could he procure everything on the list?

No? Oh. But he said he was going to get items of equal quality? That’s lovely to hear. This James sounds like an honest person, it seems I did the right thing in giving him the order. You look doubtful, Rita. Do I need to worry? Oh, this is making me nervous…

Quest completed

Return to Karl Franz tomorrow.

Pony passionate girls, Polly and Penny have come to Fort Pinta and need help setting up a race just for them.

You need to own at least one pony to be able to complete these quests.

Who is Thinking of the Ponies?

polly

Hello hello! Do you have a second? You do? Super duper!

My sister Polly and I have ordered a bunch of obstacles and decorations from James, we are going to use to build a pony race course. Isn’t it great? I know, ponies are the best, right? There are no real competitions for just ponies… So we thought we would set up Silverglade’s very first exclusive pony competition. But this is not what I wanted to tell you…

It has been weeks since we made our order with James and I’ve seen that he has a big package there that has been there for a week. It has to be our order. But any time I try and talk to him about it, he runs away on some errand or another. He is avoiding me all the time… I don’t know why… He was really nice when we paid him for our order…

Can you maybe speak with him and find out what is going on?

You can? Super duper! Be sure to come back and let me know what you find out.

Objectives: Ride over and ask James about what has happened to Penny and Polly’s order.

Hello Rita. Are you here to ride in my competition for real horses?

No? You want to know where the jumps Penny and Polly ordered are?

Sigh.

Yes, I have them. But, I can’t give the jumps to them. It would be bad for my business, you understand.

Pony Photographer

Okay then Rita. I guess you are right… A deal is a deal. But I am going to lose a lot of money because of their pony race. I’m sure of it. How about you help me out with a little thing, and I will get their delivery ready. Deal?

Great! Ride down and take some pictures of the ponies on the barge. I’m going to print some postcards and sell them to the tourists. Good idea, right? So I should be able to make some money on those little horses after all. Come back when you are finished. Great!

Objectives: Photograph the ponies on the barge with the camera and return to James with the pictures.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Take pictures of a couple of the ponies, with their permission, of course, and then return to greedypants James.

james

We’ll see.

No Obstacles Left on the Road

james

There. While you were busy photographing small horses, I got Polly and Penny’s order ready. It is ready to go, and as compensation for the delay, I am going to deliver it to their competition location for free!

How strange?! That I am doing anything for free? Rita, inside my little chest beats a heart of pure gold.

Hmm… Heart of gold… If that is true, maybe I can replace it with a cheaper pacemaker instead. A gold heart must be worth quite a lot of Jorvik shillings!

Sorry Rita, I was just daydreaming for a second there. Ride back to Penny and them know that their delivery is on the way.

Objectives: Let Penny know that James has sent their order.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

That was too easy…

Hopefully Penny doesn’t suspect anything.

polly

Hello Rita. How did it go?

James has sent our order, great! You are the best!

Meet at Pony Point

polly

Rita, now it is finally time to put together the competition track. Meet me and Polly at Pony Point please, we need your help.

Pony Point is back behind Jon Jarl’s Crypt. Between the crypt and the Silversong River. I’ll fix a couple small things here first, then I’ll meet you there.

Objectives: Meet Penny at Pony Point. Pony Point is between Jarl’s Crypt and the Silversong River.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride along the coast, past the championship area and through Thorny Banks. You will find Polly and Penny standing near the water behind Jarl’s Crypt.

polly

Hello Rita. I got a ride with a fishing boat, so I got here faster than I thought I would.

Put Up the Jumps on the Course

polly

There, now the fun work can start. We are going to put up the jumps on the course, put up all the signs, and rake everything nice and clean. There is a lot to do, but with help it should go quickly.

Rita, can you take the fences out and put them up? They are so heavy that it would be great if you could take them up on your horse. That way Polly and I won’t have to carry them all over Pony Point. You can? Thank you!

Come back when you are done and you can be the very first rider to test out the course!

Objectives: Put up the fences where Penny and Polly have marked the course.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Place the jumps along the beach in the designated spots, then return to Penny when you are finished.

polly

Perfect! This is going to be super duper!

Now we can test the track. Speak with Polly. This is super duper exciting!

Test the Pony Race

polly

Okay Rita, Are you ready to test out our pony race?

We are really excited to see how it goes. I hope it is fun, we have been planning this for months now. You need to ride a pony to be able to ride in the competition, but I am sure you understand that by now, right?

Oh, one more thing! I don’t know if you have learned to jump with your regular horse yet, but it is possible to ride through the pony competition without jumping at all. The course is easier if you can jump, but we have designed it so that both beginners and expert riders can enjoy the course.

Good luck!

Objectives: Test Penny and Polly’s pony competition.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

If you are not already riding your pony, you will need to retrieve it to be able to run the pony race.

Hopefully nothing bad happens while you are testing the new track…

polly

Oh no… The jump broke. How did that happen? You barely touched it. What bad luck.

What should we do now? We can’t open the competition if the obstacles are broken.

Sad Ponies Don’t Make Anyone Happy

polly

Rita, this is a disaster. All the obstacles are broken except for one. How could this happen?

I know. It was that James! First he was completely against our competition and then he was suddenly completely nice about it. He is behind this… I know it!

Rita, what should we do? Can you go and speak to James about this? Thank you. Oh, I really hope you can help us with this. Otherwise we will need to cancel our plans to have a pony competition…

Objectives: Ride to James and ask him if he knows anything about the broken obstacles in the pony competition.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Whelp…

james

Ouch.

Hello Rita! I don’t really have time to chat right now, my stomach hurts. It is important? Okay then.

Oof.

Broken jumps? No… I don’t know anything about that.

Do I swear? Naaa… Maybe… A little bit… OK OK! It was me that did it… But I didn’t really mean to do it.

Quest completed

Tell me the truth, or your stomach will hurt a lot worse when I get done with you…

Return to James tomorrow.

Now Nothing Can Stop Us

james

Hello Rita. I have just ordered new fences and signs for Penny and Polly’s pony competition. You can apologize to them for me… I really didn’t mean to push the box with their things here off the cliff so everything would break. I don’t really know how it happened. I just kind of tripped and pushed the box several meters to the edge… Then I stumbled again and gave it a really hard push and it went over the edge. Really bad luck, right?

But ow I have ordered new equipment… It cost me a bit of money but it will be worth it. My stomach is feeling better already, strange right? You think the two things are related? It was my bad conscience that made my stomach hurt? Ha, you are funny Rita.

Hmmm… You know, maybe this pony competition isn’t such a bad idea after all. The smart part is I get to let Penny and Polly try it first so that I get to learn from any mistakes they make. Later I can start an even better pony competition here in Fort Pinta! Brilliant!

Ouch! Now I have that pain in my stomach back again… Ouch… I don’t know why my stomach is doing this to me. OW!

Bye Rita… Ow ow ow… Poor me…

Objectives: Ride to Penny and Polly and give them the good news.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Oh yes, poor poor James…

Ride to Pony Point and speak with Polly and Penny.

polly

Hello Rita! This is fantastic! We have received new obstacles from James and he helped us put them up. It was very kind of him. Maybe he isn’t as awful as we thought?

Compete in the Pony Race

polly

There, Rita. Now it is all set. All the fences are in place, so now we just need to race the course from the start to the finish. Only ponies allowed in this race, but that is pretty clear, right?

Good luck!

Objectives: Ride to the finish.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings

Pony race, here I come!

polly

Beautifully ridden Rita! You really are an amazing rider!

You can come back any time you like and ride our race again.
