Back to Mrs Packard

andy

Hey Rita! So awesome that you want to carry on helping me with the geocaching contest!

Would you be able to head back over to my Grandma, Mrs Packard? Ask her if she’s received any applications to my competition? I expect we should have received some applications by now, wouldn’t you think?

Objectives: Pick up the competition applications from Mrs Packard.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride up to Firgrove Village and speak to Mrs Packard by her house at the rear of the village.

mrs_packard

Why hello to you Rita! How are you?

You want to pick up the applications for Andy’s competition?

Quest completed

______________

Gone With the Wind!

mrs_packard

I’ve got some bad news about the applications, I’m afraid…

I’d just opened the mailbox to collect my letters when at that exact moment, a big gust of wind came from absolutely nowhere! I wasn’t at all prepared for it, and so all of Andy’s applications suddenly found themselves scattered around in the wind!

Oh, loveliest Rita, how sweet of you to ask whether any of my own mail was blown away… You’re ever so thoughtful.

Well, the mailman hadn’t actually delivered mine by that time; the only thing in the mailbox were the applications for Andy’s competition.

Would you be so kind as to help me find the applications that flurried away, dear Rita?

Oh, thanks ever so much dearie! How very kind of you to help me gather up all the missing applications. I should rather imagine they’re spread out all over the village by now. It would be ever so sweet of you to gather them up and bring them back to me.

Objectives: Collect all the competition applications that had flown off!

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Pick up the pieces of paper that are flying around in the wind around the village, then return to Mrs Packard when you have them all.

mrs_packard

Thank you ever so much, you wonderful little jewel!

Andy’s Applications

mrs_packard

Truly adorable of you to have gathered up all the applications that flew away, dearest little Rita. Are you going to take them to Andy now? I hope he won’t be too disheartened, there didn’t look to be that many responses, I’m afraid.

Rita love, will you take them over to Andy?

Objectives: Give the competition applications to Andy.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Return to Andy with the applications to the geocaching contest.

andy

The applications have arrived? Amazing! Let’s see who’s applied…

Quest completed

______________

The Art of Collecting a Secret Prize…

andy

Now, almost everything’s ready for my geocaching contest. The only thing missing is the prize to go in the treasure chest you helped me assemble.

Right now, the prize is with the Councilman in Firgrove. He let me store the prize with him since I was so busy with all the preparations here.

Would you be able to trot over to the Councilman in Firgrove and pick it up for me?

Thanks so much Rita! Promise you won’t take a sneaky peek at the prize! It should be a secret right up until the winner finds out what it is!

Objectives: Collect the prize for Andy’s contest from the Councilman in Firgrove.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride to Firgrove Village and speak to Mr Franklin, the Councilman.

mr_franklin

Hey! You’re here to collect the prize for Andy’s contest, I presume?

Quest completed

______________

Resisting a Sneaky Peek

mr_franklin

Andy asked if I could keep the prize for him here with me. It seems as though he has had ever such a lot to do with all the preparations for his competition. I’ve seen all the posters around the village, it really seems like a great initiative of his!

What the prize is or could be is something I have absolutely no idea about whatsoever, but I dare say the winner of the competition will find out soon enough! Haha!

Will you ride over to Andy with the parcel containing the prize? Fantastic Rita! It’s a little on the heavy side, but I’m sure you’ll be able to handle it.

Objectives: Take the parcel to Andy.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Return to Andy with the prize for the geocaching competition.

andy

How did it go collecting the prize? Great! Thanks so much for all your help!!

Quest completed

______________

Welcome to the Competition!

andy

Doesn’t seem like many people applied for my contest…

…Sigh.

Hmm… What should I do now…?

You know what, Rita? Maybe you’re right. Maybe it does take time to build up a reputation and get people interested in a competition like this.

But even if not as many people applied as I’d hoped, we have to run competition anyway! Especially with all the preparations we’ve done together.

Would you like to have a go?

For real? Great! You sure?

Haha, fantastic! You think it sounds fun? Nice! Lucky I never showed you the clues I hid!

I’ve hidden five clues, all spread out in locations around Firgrove. I’ll give you the first clue and then it’s your job to let it lead you to the second clue’s location… Carry on like that until you find the last clue, which is when you should ride back to me and tell me what you’ve found. The person who finds all the clues in the fastest time wins my amazing prize!

You ready then Rita? Here comes the first clue. Listen carefully now!

andy, express delivery, firgrove flyers, following instructions, has the delivery been delivered, mrs packard, posters in firgrove, the start of something new, tying up the clues

Visit Andy by the Firgrove Sandpit to see what he has planned.

The Start of Something New!

andy

Hey there Rita! What fun that you called by! A few days ago, I was reading about this thing called geocaching; ever heard of it?

No?

No worries, I hadn’t either, but I thought it sounded really exciting so I’ve decided to organize a special geocaching contest here in Firgrove!

I can tell you more about it if you’re interested in helping out?

You are? Great! This is going to be so much fun! Haha!!

In order to get started, we’l have to write a few clues.

What am I going to do with the clues? Haha… You’ll see! First I need to find my pen, I’ve got no idea where I’ve put it.

Could you help me have a look for it?

Objectives: Help Andy find his pen.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Search the area for Andy’s pen. Bring it back to him when you find it.

andy

That’s it! Thanks ever so much Rita! I’d never have found it without you!

Now, what were we talking about? Ah, of course, I was going to tell you more about geocaching!

Geocaching is a little bit like orienteering, except instead of looking for coordinates on a map, you’re looking for so-called ‘treasure.’ The treasure should always be found at the end of the trail, and the treasure could be absolutely anything under the sun!

In certain variants of geocaching, you have to look for clues to be able to find the cache of treasure.

I’m going to be doing it in my own style… Maybe we could call it AndyCaching or perhaps even GeoAndy? Haha!

If you wait just a little while Rita, I’ll just write down a few clues and then I’ll tell you a little bit more about what you’ll be able to help with.

Quest completed

______________

Typing Up the Clues

andy

So there we go! The clues are written, and they’re pretty great, if you ask me, hehe… I wonder how long it’ll take before someone’s able to work out exactly where the first clue leads to?

Unfortunately, I’m not able to tell you what I’ve written or where it leads to, Rita… It’s a secret!

That said, it’d be great if you could help me by rolling up these clues and tying them all up with this ribbon. Make it into a nice bow if you’re able to!

Oh, and Rita… Promise you won’t take a sneaky peek at the clues when you’re rolling them up. Not that I think you’d do that, but it’s really important that the clues stay secret for everyone, at least until the contest gets under way.

Here’s some ribbon. Roll up the papers and then tie them up into a bow with this ribbon, then it’ll all be perfect!

Objectives: Tie up the clues using the ribbon Andy gave you.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Dismount your horse and use the ribbon from your inventory to tie up the clues. Speak to Andy when you are finished.

andy

Nice work on the clues! Good ribbon work, haha! They look really exciting! I bet you’re wondering what’s written on them, hehe!

Quest completed

______________

Has the Delivery Been Delivered?

andy

How lovely of you to ask if there’s anything you can help out with Rita, honestly, it’s really nice of you.

Since it’ll be me organizing the whole event, it wouldn’t be fair for me to take part, so I’ve ordered both posters and leaflets to be handed out in Firgrove. I think this could be something really big! Maybe something we’ll be famous for! Think about it… Rita and Andy’s Geocaching! Sounds awesome!

I’ve got tons to do; would you mind riding over to see my grandma, Mrs Packard? Ask her if the leaflets and posters I’ve ordered have been delivered yet…

Objectives: Ride to Firgrove Village and talk to Mrs Packard.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Speak to Mrs Packard outside her house in the back of the village.

mrs_packard

Oh, my dear sweet little Rita, you’re a busy bee as usual, I can see!

Aha! You’ve spoken to Andy and he’s asked you to come up and see me. Of course, yes, his delivery has been delivered! There are some lovely posters and leaflets that need to be put up and handed out.

Andy already spoke to the Councilman and got his permission to hand out the leaflets and put up the posters, so everything’s not that far away from being done and dusted!

Quest completed

______________

Posters in Firgrove

mrs_packard

Andy’s really put his heart and soul into this project, wouldn’t you say, Rita dear?

And have you seen the lovely posters he’s ordered? They’re quite something. Perhaps you’ll be able to put them up around the village? I think he’ll be ever so grateful for all your help, sweetest Rita. What luck we all have that you’re such a lovely friend!

Put up the posters in and around the village so everyone can see them. It’s really very lovely of you to help out!

Objectives: Put up the posters all around Firgrove Village.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Put up the posters on the walls of the log cabins in the center of the village, then return to Mrs Packard.

mrs_packard

Oh, a thousand thanks for all your help, dearest Rita! I’m certain Andy will really appreciate it!

Quest completed

______________

Firgrove Flyers

mrs_packard

Here are the flyers And has delivered, aren’t they snazzy?!

They need to be posted into all the letterboxes around the village. It’s so lovely of you to help Andy with his project, sweetest Rita!

You only need to post one flyer in each of the letterboxes in the village, then people should hopefully apply to take part in the competition!

Objectives: Mail flyers through all the letterboxes around Firgrove Village.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Place one flyer in each mailbox around the village, then return to Mrs Packard when all the flyers are handed out.

mrs_packard

Are all the flyers out now? My stars, you’re a fast one, girlie!

Quest completed

______________

Express Delivery!

mrs_packard

Well, well! The flyers are handed out and the posters are up, and it’s all because of you, dear sweet Rita!

Oh my goodness gracious, I very nearly forgot! A huge parcel has arrived for Andy in today’s mail. I’m sure it has something to do with his competition. I wonder if you’d be even more precious and take it over to him?

Objectives: Deliver the parcel to Andy.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Return to Andy by the sandpit.

andy

A parcel for me?

Oh well of course, haha! Never thought it’d be here this early, but yeah! It’s great that it arrived!

Now you’re gonna get to see something cool, Rita…

Quest completed

______________

Following Instructions

andy

I bought a treasure chest online! How amazing is that?!

I figured it’d be pretty cool to have the competition-winner’s prize in the treasure chest! If I read the instructions out, would you be able to put it together?

Nice! Right then, step one says: take the bottom part and lat it flat on the ground.

Then it says you take the lid and place it on the bottom section.

Lastly, it says you have to screw in the screws so that the lid is firmly attached to the bottom part.

Then when these three steps have been successfully completed, you will be the proud owner of a ready-to-use treasure chest!

Doesn’t sound that bad, eh Rita?

Objectives: Help Andy put the treasure chest together.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Dismount your horse to assemble the treasure chest.

First,, place the two pieces, then use the screwdriver on them. Speak to Andy when you are finished.

andy

Great! Thanks so much Rita! It’s lovely, you really were great at putting it all together!

Now I’m off to hid the clues I wrote earlier, so it’s probably best that you call back tomorrow if you’d still like to carry on with helping out! While I’m out fixing up the clues, there’s not much else to do.

Quest completed

Return to Andy tomorrow.

Thank you! We need a water lily leaf and a thorn from a thorn bush.

Quest completed

To Find Special Plants

elizabeth_sunbeam

You can find water lilies on the other side of the bridge here in Valedale, over by the reeds. It’s said that the water lilies from Valedale have a special sort of power, like Aideen’s flowers. The last thing we need is a thorn from the thorn bushes towards the Observatory. The thorns are very poisonous if they’re not properly prepared, but if you do it right, they can be used for anything. I need them right away!

Objectives: Find a water lily leaf by the reeds in Valedale and a thorn from a thorn bush on the road to the Observatory.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

The thorn bush can be found on the main trail to the Observatory. They start on the side of the road once you are out of the woods and start heading up into the mountains.

When you have both items, return to Elizabeth.

Objectives: Listen to what Felicity has to say.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Keeping conditions secret is not always something you want in a health care professional. You should drop her like a bad habit, Felicity…

felicity

However, she told me about the cure that you and Elizabeth are preparing so I still feel hopeful. You have no idea how much your help means to me, Rita. I will continue hand feeding Summerbreeze until tomorrow.

Quest completed

Return to Elizabeth tomorrow.

Let’s go see what Harold in Silverglade needs help with.

Nobody Likes Melted Icecream

harold

Yawn… Do you know what the secret to ice cream is? Besides using extra fresh milk from Valedale cows you need to whip the milk all night. Yes, it is true, so you can imagine how tired I must be!

But enough about me. I know that not many can beat you and Summerblaze when it comes to speed, so what do you say to helping me deliver some ice cream to Firgrove?

Objectives: Ride the fastest you can with the ice cream to Firgrove.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

This part is run as a race. You cannot use the transport van, and you must make it to Mrs Packard before time runs out. Though, you are given ten minutes, which is more than ample time to get there. You could probably walk there and still have time to spare…

The clock stops when you reach Mrs Packard at her house in Firgrove.

mrs_packard

Hey! Look who it is! What a nice surprise! And with the ice cream I ordered.

Quest completed

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP, Cook’s Jacket

mrs_packard

Wow you are fast! I barely noticed you were gone. Welcome back! I found the time to pick out a special surprise for you. I though you might want to help out with the pancake batter and with this Cook’s Jacket it will be extra fun!

Quest completed

______________

Bake, Bake, Bake the Cake

mrs_packard

Will you help me with the pancake batter? I can teach you how, just do what I tell you and it will be fine. The only tricky part is that it needs to be done quickly. Timing is important when making pancakes for my famous pancake cake. Is the master chef ready?

Objectives: Follow Mrs Packard’s instructions on how to make the batter.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

The cooking follows a predictable pattern. Once you complete this quest, you can make pancakes as a daily quest.

It’s easiest if you pick up the salt shaker and the whisk off the counter, and have your inventory open before she gives the first instruction.

They are: Butter, eggs, milk, whisk, flour, salt, whisk.

mrs_packard

What perfect batter Rita! Now the pressure is me to fry them, hoho!

Ride to the chicken coop, and click on it to pick up the eggs. The eggs will then be in a basket behind your saddle. If you ride at any speed above a walk, the ‘Danger!’ meter will fill up. Once it fills up completely, the eggs will break. You can prevent this by slowing to a walk or stopping completely to let the meter drain when it gets too high, before riding more.

Take the eggs to Mrs Packard’s house in Firgrove.

mrs_packard

The eggs are so fine! It is great to hear that the chickens are doing well again! Both of us are so grateful for your help dear Rita. You will of course get something for your effort. But I have one last thing I want to ask you about.

Quest competed

mrs_packard

My good friend Harold in Silverglade Village bakes amazing pastries and he needs fine eggs. It’s so much fun to be able to give him fresh eggs. Quest completed

Let’s go check on our sick horse in Firgrove.

Objectives: Visit the Vet again.

Rewards 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Take your preferred method of travel to Silverglade Village. Once there, speak with the Vet about Summerbreeze.

vet

Good thing you’re here, I’ve been reading my old notes.

Quest completed

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The vet will explain what needs to be done to ease Summerbreeze’s ills.

Quest completed

______________

Delivery to Elizabeth

vet

I spoke to Elizabeth in Valedale. She’s really good at mixing brews. We agreed that you can help us get a special apple. When you find it, you can give it to her. You may have visited the Applegrove opposite the Thornrocks? It’s said that during each season, there’s one apple that shines like gold. Ride along and look for that apple. Hurry, time is short!

Objectives: Find the special apple in the Applegrove opposite the Thornrocks and give it to Elizabeth in Valedale.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

The clue ‘opposite the Thornrocks’ means ‘across the river from the Thornrocks.’

Applegrove is along the Fire Trail. Once you cross the bride, as if you were going to Firgrove, instead of going up the hill, take the first trail off to the right. It is a road, but it is not marked on the map. Follow the road for a little bit, and off to the right-hand side you will see trees with apples on them. To get the golden apple, you will have to leave the road a bit and go down into the trees.

quest-applegrove

Once you find the golden apple, take it to Elizabeth in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Hi Rita! Oh, you found the apple! The vet told me you were coming. I’ll use the apple as the base for the cure. Tomorrow, I’ll need more help from you, because I need two more ingredients. Now, however, I have to start the brew. It’ll take a while. Felicity says she’s extremely grateful for your help in this difficult time.

Quest completed

Return to Elizabeth tomorrow.

Speak with Claire at the Valedale stables. She has news of a friend in need.

An Assignment for a Cow Friend

claire

Hey Rita! This is how it is… Sophie needs help to milk the cows up here. She got such a pain in her back that she had to stop before all the cows had been milked. I’m really busy today so I thought that since you already know our cows you might be able to help? Sophie is over there with all the equipment, the poor thing! Go over there and give her a hand, I’ll be sure to give you something for your trouble.

Objectives: Go to Sophie and offer to help her with the cows.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Obviously someone needs a lesson in proper lifting technique. Remember, bend your knees and lift with your legs. Your back will thank you.

Sophie is just up the road from Valedale. Go and offer your help.

sophie

A riding hero! I can’t show you how right now but I can try to explain [how milking is done].

Quest completed

______________

A New Experience

sophie

There is only one cow left to be milked, I finished with all the others before my back forced me to quit. I must have pulled a muscle or something… Anyways, very annoying, but you are worth your weight in gold for helping me…

Objectives: Take the bucket and milk the cow that hasn’t been milked yet.

sophie

A full bucket of milk! I am impressed. Was it heavy to carry?

Quest completed

______________

Step Two

sophie

So, after we have milked the cows we put the milk in smaller containers. It is a little impractical to have the milk in a bucket! Would you mind riding down to Elizabeth and ask if she has any more empty bottles?

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Go speak to Elizabeth outside of her house in Valedale.

Quest completed

Empty Bottles

elizabeth_sunbeam

There you are. Now you have some bottles to take back to Sophie. They almost look like new, don’t they?

Objectives: Deliver the cleaned milk bottles to Sophie.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

Take the bottles back up the road from Valedale, to where Sophie is.

sophie

Perfect! Those should be enough for the milk in the bucket.

Quest completed

I feel like an old lady right now… but my back hurts really bad. I can barely move! Please do me one more favor and pour the milk from the bucket into the bottles?

Objectives: Pick up the bucket and pour the milk into the bottles.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

sophie

You didn’t even spill a drop! Is there something you aren’t telling me? That you are the world champion of milk pouring? Are you just as good at milk delivery?

Quest completed

Return to Harold tomorrow.

advice from the vet, andy, are the chickens laying eggs, bones and leftovers, feed summerbreeze, felicity, felicity needs help, mrs packard, no one is afraid for the wolf, return to the stable, torches and fire outside the chicken coop, vet, what should we do

Let’s go see how the chickens are doing in their new home.

Are the Chickens Laying Eggs?

andy

I think something is wrong with the chickens, Rita… They are scared to go out of their new house! Yesterday evening they were seemingly happy and were out enjoying themselves. But this morning they haven’t been outside the house at all. Something must have happened during the night. Can you see if you can find any clues?

Objectives: Look for clues around the chicken coop.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Ride over the chicken coop and see if you can find any clues as to what is scaring the chickens.

Return to Andy when you have found something.

andy

Oh no, a piece of fur! Could it be from a wolf? Yes… It is. This is not good. And you found tracks? Where do they go? Into the forest? Well, we can be sure the wolf has been here.

Quest completed

______________

No One is Afraid for the Wolf

andy

I have a plan, Rita. We have to lure the wolf away from the chickens. I think it can work if we put out some wolf food in the forest. The wolves will have something to eat and won’t need to come here. My grandma has cooked a steak, I think she might have some bones and leftovers from the dinner. Ride and ask her if she can give you some.

Objectives: Ride to Mrs Packard and ask if she has some leftovers from the dinner she cooked.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Mrs Packard is standing outside her house in Firgrove. See what she says about helping you with your wolf problem.

mrs_packard

Rita, my dear friend! What are you saying? Those darn wolves, they always cause trouble. They need to eat, but not our fine animals!

Quest completed

______________

Bones and Leftovers

mrs_packard

Actually I have some bones from the steak I cooked. You can take them and ride far away into the forest and put them there. I hope the wolf won’t frighten our chickens any more. If we put the bones far enough away the wolves might not come back.

Objectives: Ride and put out the leftovers away from the chicken coop.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride to the orange spots marked on your map, south of the Silverglade Mine. Place out the leftovers in three different spots.

Return to Andy when you are finished.

andy

Did she have leftovers? Cool! Now we have to hope it will work. But to be on the safe side we need to have some lights around the chicken coop.

Quest completed

______________

Torches and Fire Outside the Chicken Coop

andy

I think it will work well if we had some torches outside the chicken coop. That way I can keep an eye on the chicken coop when I watch over my sheep. I put up some torches while you were away. Here are some matches, ride over and light the torches and we can hope that the chickens actually come out.

Objectives: Light the torches around the chicken coop.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

There are two torches mounted on the sheep fence, near the chicken coop. Light both of them and return to Andy when you are done.

andy

This should do it. It has been a long day, I think that both of us and the chickens might need some rest now.

Quest completed

Return to Andy tomorrow

Felicity is having a crisis at the stable. Go see her in Firgrove, maybe you can help.

Felicity Needs Help!

felicity

I don’t know what to do! One of my horses, Summerbreeze, hasn’t eaten or had anything to drink since yesterday. And for a couple of days he’s been acting real strange. I don’t recognize him. He’s even been aggressive and usually he’s the nicest and calmest horse in the world. I’m getting very worried. Can you help me, please?

Objectives: Will you help Felicity?

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Of course you’ll help.

felicity

Thanks so much!

Quest completed

______________

What Should We Do?

felicity

This doesn’t sound like a normal illness. Maybe we should talk to the vet in Silverglade Village? Can you ride to her and tell her about Summerbreeze’s condition?

Objectives: Ride to the vet in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

The Vet should know what the matter is, or at least, let’s hope she does.

vet

Oh, this doesn’t sound good.

Quest completed

______________

Advice From the Vet

vet

I need to think about this for a while. It sounds a bit familiar… In any case, the most important thing now is to make the horse eat and drink. I have an idea, will you help me?

Objectives: Listen to what the vet has to say.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

I’m all ears, doctor!

vet

Sick animals don’t want to eat, but if you feed them by hand they sometimes will. Do you want to try? Meanwhile, I’ll read some books and old notes. You can ride back to Felicity and tell her that I’m looking into it.

Quest completed

Ride back to Firgrove and speak with Felicity.

Return to the Stable

felicity

So did you talk to the vet? What did she say?

Objectives: Tell Felicity what the vet said.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Pass the Vet’s message to Felicity. It’s urgent.

felicity

Oh, I hope it’s not too serious. But nutrition is most important now so hand feeding sounds like a good idea. Let’s try.

Quest completed

______________

Feed Summerbreeze

felicity

Take this and feed Summerbreeze. He’s on the left side of the stable.

Objectives: Feed Felicity’s sick horse, Summerbreeze.

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Go into the stable, and put down the wooden bucket, then give the hay to the horse. Speak with Felicity when you are done.

felicity

Oh, what a relief that you made him eat! I feel a bit better now.

Quest completed

Return to Felicity tomorrow

I am splitting this day in half. Linda is ready to talk to you again on this day, and will continue the game’s main storyline, meaning spoilers. I will make this post for the major part of the quests for this day that do not contain spoilers.

Stolen Money?

tan

Do you think someone may have taken my money? Who would do such a thing? I have to check if anyone has seen something suspicious. Rita, you’ve already helped me a lot, but it would be really kind if you could help me find out who the thief is.

Maybe you can ask if Barney at the silo has seen anything? Barney hears a lot of what happens around here and has many contacts. Not what you’d expect from him, but it’s a fact. Yeah, I’m talking about the Barney who hangs out at the silo east of Steve’s farm.

Objectives: Ask Barney at the silo, east of Steve’s farm, if he has seen or heard anything about a thief in this neighborhood.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

Things have gone real bad here in the ‘hood since you left.

Go and speak with Barney about the issue.

barney

Hello there! What are you talking about? Very unpleasant. I haven’t seen any thieves at least.

Quest completed

______________

Scouting From the Hill

barney

No, we don’t have any thieves here that I know of, but talk to Will, he has a good view from his mill on the hill!

Objectives: Talk to Will at the mill on the hill outside Silverglade Village and see if he’s seen anything suspicious.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

So maybe Will has seen something? Let’s go ask!

will

If I’ve seen anything strange? A thief? No, no thieves in sight. Only a beautiful landscape.

Quest completed

______________

Farther Into the Woods

will

I can see a lot from the top of my hill but I can’t see all the way to Valedale. My advice is to ride to Valedale and check if they’ve heard something. You know, the druids can see and hear things that on one else can… Talk to the druid Elizabeth.

Objectives: Ride to Elizabeth in Valedale Village and ask if she’s seen anything strange.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

So maybe Elizabeth knows? You never can tell with those druids…

elizabeth_sunbeam

Hello my friend! Nice to see you. I’m also waiting for news about Alex, but I haven’t heard anything yet. What? A thief? No, I haven’t noticed anything unusual. Poor Tan who lost her money.

Quest completed

______________

Deeper Into the Woods

elizabeth_sunbeam

We druids have a lot of abilities, but we don’t master all kinds of magic, as many of the uninitiated, like Will seem to think. So there’s no way I can help you find out what happened to Tan’s money.

Valedale feels peaceful as usual but ask Sonja, who you met earlier. She knows Hollow Woods better than anyone here. You’ll find her in the neighborhood. She likes to ride around in the middle of Hollow Woods, close to the main road. Search southwest of the old abandoned summerhouse.

Objectives: Find Sonja in Hollow Woods. She likes to ride around in the middle of  the forest, close to the road which goes through it. Search southwest of the old abandoned summerhouse.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Sonja may need some chasing to be able to talk to her. She rides in counter-clockwise circles around the hill, across the road from the abandoned summer house. If you stand on the road, eventually she’ll come into view.

Speak to her about the theft.

sonja

Rita! Nice seeing you again! Money you say? I haven’t seen anything strange but I found some coins on the ground over there.

Quest completed

______________

Coins on the Ground

sonja

Where I found the coins? Below the bird’s nest over there, a stone’s throw away to the north, close to the runestone.

Objectives: Ride to the nest with the red bird, not so far away to the north where Sonja rides around. Close to a runestone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

If you continue up the road towards Valedale, the runestone can be seen from the road. Go towards it, and Birdie is around on the other side, perched on a large rock.

birdie

Tweet, tweeeet, tweet, tweeeet!

Quest completed

______________

Twetweet!

birdie

Tweeeet, tweet, tweet?!

Objectives: You decide to tak to Sonja and tell her what you have discovered…

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

This bird seems distressed. Maybe Sonja knows what’s the matter.

sonja

You must be kidding?! You say that the birds have lined their nest with Tan’s money? Is it true? The birds must like shiny things!

Quest completed

______________

Bird Thief

sonja

You have to ride to Tan and tell her! Here, take these coins, they must belong to her. See you Rita! Say hello to Tan from me.

Objectives: Ride and tell Tan what you have found out.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Return to Moorland and tell Tan the news.

tan

I can’t believe my ears! I thought that a nasty thief had done this. But we can’t take away the coins from the birds, that would be mean. The birds can’t know they shouldn’t take my money, they didn’t do it on purpose because birds can’t know that money has a value.

Quest completed

______________

Something That Shines

tan

I have an idea! We can swap the money with something else that shines. Maybe Mrs Holdsworth has something we can use?

Objectives: As Mrs Holdsworth, who lives in the red house outside the Moorland Stable, if she has something shiny to give away.

Rewards: 70 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Of course, Mrs Holdsworth always has something of use!

Go speak with her at her house behind the stables.

mrs_holdsworth

Haha! What a lovely story. Of course I’ll help you. Let me look through my things.

Quest completed

______________

A Necklace With Glass Beads, A Bird’s Dream!

mrs_holdsworth

Take this necklace with glass beads. I think the bird will like it much better! Good luck with the trading Rita.

Objectives: Trade the necklace for the money from the little bird in Hollow Woods.

Rewards: 70 Jorvik Shillings, 70 XP

Shouldn’t we be more concerned that the beads pose a choking hazard??

Ride back to Birdie in Hollow Woods and show him the necklace you have for him.

birdie

Tweet, tweeet, tweet, tweeet!

Quest completed

______________

Trading Done

birdie

Tweet, tweeet, tweet, tweet-tweet!

Objectives: Trade the necklace for the money and ride back to Tan with the money.

Rewards: 150 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP, Tan’s Good Old Riding Shoes

Stand under the nest, in the tree behind Birdie, and trade the necklace out with the money. Return to Moorland and speak with Tan when you have done so.

tan

Rita, you’re a hero! Haha, I would never think that the birds wanted to decorate their nest. I’ll never forget this. Thank you!

Quest completed

You’re welcome!

Now let’s go see what the Vet has found with the oil sample from the duck feathers. Go see her in Silverglade Village.

Ongoing Analysis

vet

I’m basically ready… It was very difficult to get good sample material from the feather, there wasn’t a large amount of oil on it. But I managed to get a sample that can be compared with previous samples from Mr Kembell’s oilfield. Take these samples and ride up to Carney at the vineyard and ask if you can borrow the comparison machine again.

Objectives: Ride to Carney at the vineyard stables and ask if you can borrow his comparison machine.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

I’m sure Carney will let you use it. Just be glad you’re not one of his brothers asking…

carney

Hello Rita, how are you today?

Quest completed

______________

One More Comparison of Samples

carney

So, you want to borrow my comparison machine again. It should work. Oddly enough, I don’t use it as much as I thought I would when I bought it at J-Bay, so it’s just as well that it will do some good. Just take your samples and use the machine. It’s on the table next to us.

Objectives: Use the oil samples in Carney’s comparison machine, which stands on the table at the vineyard stables.

Rewards: 16 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Use the comparison machine on the picnic table behind you. Speak to Carney when you are done.

carney

Did it work? Yes, look. The result is clear. It’s the same oil in both samples you tested.

Quest completed

______________

Tell Felix About the Evidence

carney

Ride back to Felix in Silverglade Village and tell him that the samples are identical.

Objectives: Ride to Felix and tell him. He’s at the fountain in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Somebody ain’t gonna be happy…

felix

Really? Then we know that Mr Kembell’s oil has polluted the duck feather. At least we have the proof.

Quest completed

Now that we know who polluted the ducks, go speak to the Vet about cleaning them up.

Cleaning of Ducks

vet

The cute little ducks are clean and happy again! It was more difficult than I thought to clean the fragile feathers, but it went well. Take the ducks to Felix so he’ll be happy again.

Objectives: Bring the five clean ducks to Felix at the fountain in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 65 XP

Felix will be happy to see his ducks all squeaky clean.

felix

Wow, they’re so nice and shiny! And completely clean. Poor ducks, covered by oil like that. I get so angry when I think of that irresponsible Mr Kembell, I almost want to scream.

Quest completed

______________

The Summer’s Main Attraction is Saved!

felix

How wonderful that they mystery of the disappearing ducks was solved! Now we’ll just launch them into the fountain. You’ll have the honor to do it since you’re the hero, Rita! Carefully put the ducks in the fountain, one by one.

Objectives: Place the ducks in the fountain in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP, Checkered Pants

Stand near the fountain and place the ducks in the water. Return to Felix when you are finished.

felix

The ducks are so cute! The whole village will thank you for this. What an effort you’ve made – the big attraction of the summer is saved! Thank you Rita!

Quest completed

______________

Someone Will Have to Pay For This

felix

The ducks are rescued, but Mr Kembell makes me so angry! It’s so irresponsible to pollute the beautiful Everwind Fields with oil. It destroys the environment and more birds could be harmed.

We have to stop him once and for all! Can you talk to the Magistrate here in the village and help me establish a case against Mr Kembell for damaging nature, cruelty to animals and breaking the environmental laws, and bring that walking disaster to justice?!

Objectives: Talk to the Magistrate in Silverglade Village about filing a report against Mr Kembell.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Magistrate, aka Council Man.

council_man

Hello little one! Oh? File a report about damage and environmental crime? We can do that but it’ll take some time. We’re talking a week or more. A lot of paperwork, you know. It takes a long time to flip papers and write the right things so everything is legal.

Quest completed

______________

Waiting for the Long Arm of the Law

council_man

We’re building a case against Mr Kembell. No one wants him and his ruthless corporation here in Jorvik. We’re also waiting for our dear Commissioner Klas to come back to the village after winter break. Both cops and robbers usually stay calm during the cold winter months here in Silverglade.

Objectives: Talk to the Magistrate.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

See what more the Council Man has to say.

council_man

How long does it take? As I said before, it’ll take weeks before the case against Mr Kembell is ready, but then we can go full force and get him out of here, I hope. Thank you for your report! Good luck now and thanks for saving the ducks. You are a hero, Rita! We could use more of your kind her in the village in times like these.

Quest completed

Felix has something new to tell you about, go speak to him.

Waiting for a Train

felix

The lemmings here on Jorvik are very special. Every year, the same time, they march from the other side of the mountains, come here and then they go home again. No one knows why they are doing this but I think it’s some kind of pilgrimage. I heard from Mario up on the Observatory that he had seen some lemmings who seemed lost. Maybe you can ride up to him? To look at the lemmings and maybe help them on the right track.

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Some pilgrims are lost on their way to lemming-Mecca. Better help them out!

Ride up the observatory. You can ride your newly built gondola lift to get up there quickly.

mario

Hi! Have you talked to Felix? Yes, what he says is true. I have seen the yearly lemming march and I have to tell you it’s not a march any more. The little creatures seem to have lost each other.

Quest completed

______________

The March Has Gone Astray

mario

I saw some lemmings when I was taking my morning walk but I have such a horrible lemming allergy so I can’t go near them. I have spent the whole morning looking at them in my telescope and I am so worried about them. You are not allergic? Can’t you look below the Observatory, pick up all lemmings you find and put them in your backpack?

Objectives: Look for lemmings below the Observatory.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The lemmings can be found mostly under the bridge to the Observatory. They are marked in orange on your map.

Return to Mario when you have found them all.

mario

Oh no, I can feel in my nose that you have found all the lemmings! So good that they like small spaces so that they are comfortable in your backpack. I hope you won’t get too much lemming hair on your things…

Quest completed

______________

Get the Lemmings to Their Correct Destination

mario

The lemmings’ last stop on the march used to be in Valedale. I suggest that you ride there with them and maybe do it right now before I sneeze so hard that you fall off your horse!

Objectives: Ride to Valedale with the lemmings.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

I’m not so concerned about falling off my horse. I’m more concerned about you falling off that cliff!

Take the lemmings down toward Valedale. Sophie will know what to do with them.

sophie

Lemmings! I have waited the whole day for them. Why do you have them in your backpack?

Quest completed

______________

The March is Delayed

sophie

Are they confused? The poor little things. Maybe you can herd them up the hill towards the snow, they usually go to their homes that way.

Objectives: Follow the lemmings up the hill towards the snow.

Rewards: 120 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The lemmings are in a line on the ground, and will start their march as soon as you accept the quest. Follow them all the way up the mountain trail, to the snow at the top.

Return to Sophie when they have made it safely.

sophie

Did it wok? Are they on the right track now? So good that you could help them, no one knows how long we had been standing here, waiting for the. I hope they will be on the right track next year.

Quest completed

With that done, let’s go see Minka in Firgrove. She has a new racing track for you to try out.

Firgrove’s Hard Forest Track

minka

Hello Rita! I have finally finished the renovation of Firgrove’s old, difficult and dangerous forest track. It’s a bit hard, or super tough to be honest… I don’t know if I’m brave enough to try it myself, but you are so talented so maybe you want to try it? Please, Rita, can you test it before I open it for the public?

Objectives: Finish the track in the best possible time.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

Ride the hard forest track, then speak with Minka when you are done.

minka

Did it work? It’s not impossibly hard? You did great I think! Even if it’s difficult I think it’s good. Experienced riders like you need a challenge! I hereby declare Firgrove’s old forest track opened!

Quest completed

You can now ride the forest track (and the track in reverse) as a daily race.

Mrs Packard has something she would like you to help with. Go see her by her house in Firgrove.

Chicken Wishes

mrs_packard

Me and my grandson Andy have decided that we want a chicken coop. It would be so nice to have some chickens and fresh eggs around here. I am old and frail and Andy already has too much to do taking care of the sheep. Would you mind helping us build a chicken coop? I would be so thankful!

Objectives: Talk to Mrs Packard.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

See what Mrs Packard has to say about this new idea of hers.

mrs_packard

I’m sure Andy will help you, ride down and talk to him. He is watching the sheep next to Firgrove’s sandpit.

Quest completed

Go talk to Andy down by the sandpit.

Building Boss

andy

Howdy Rita! Have you talked to my grandma? We have talked for a long time about buying some chickens and a chicken coop, but nothing has happened because my grandma s so old and I have too much to do. But if you want to help I can guide you through the whole building procedure. Grandma will be so happy.

Objectives: Talk to Andy.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Andy will tell you his plans for the chicken coop.

andy

There is a lot to do but if we take one thing at a time we’ll do just fine. I wonder where we should build the chicken coop…

Quest completed

______________

A Perfect Place

andy

I am not sure where we should put it, but it should be somewhere not too far away. I want to be able to watch over my and grandma’s chickens. Would you mind riding around this pen to see if you can find a place that looks good?

Objectives: Ride around the sheep pen and find a good place to build a chicken coop. Return to Andy when you have found it.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

There are two places to check. One is behind where Andy is standing. The other is on the other side of where the race track comes down towards the sheep pen.

Speak with Andy when you have found the good place.

andy

Cool! That’s terrific. Now we can build the chicken coop! I have already prepared a drawing, hehe. I like things to be well organized.

Quest completed

______________

Wood for Construction

andy

I happen to know that there are some planks around the old mine down there. I think they are left over from when they built the mine many years ago. Ride down and look, I don’t think anyone will miss the planks. It’s good that someone will get some use out of them.

Objectives: Ride down to the Silverglade Mine and gather planks for the chicken coop.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

You will see the mine in the distance if you face where you will build the chicken coop, with your back to Andy. The planks are scattered close to the mine buildings. Pick them up and return to Andy when you are done.

andy

Great! This should be enough. The planks look good. They are even still a nice red color! Grandma said that she wanted her chicken coop to be red so this will be perfect.

Quest completed

______________

Build a Chicken Coop

andy

So! Shall we start with the construction? Here is a hammer and some nails. I have left the planks you found where we will build the chicken coop. Do you remember my drawing? A red house with a nice frame around it.

Objectives: Use the hammer you got from Andy on the planks he has placed where the chicken coop shall be.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The planks are on the ground where the chicken coop shall be built. You have to dismount your horse to be able to use the hammer. When you are done building, return to Andy.

andy

Wow, so great! And such a good drawing I made! You are a real handyman. But something is missing…

Quest completed

______________

Chicken Wire

andy

Oh, I got it! We need chicken wire! Otherwise the chickens will run out into the woods. Imagine if they could run up on the racing track? That could only end in disaster. Felicity in the stable in Firgrove Village has fencing for the sheep pen. Maybe she has some we can use for the chicken coop too?

Objectives: Ride to Felicity and ask if she has some chicken wire.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride up to Firgrove and ask Felicity for some wire.

felicity

Hiya! So fun seeing you again! Is the sheep pen broken already?? Oh, you are building a chicken coop! Of course I can give you some chicken wire. I have some old chicken wire, but I need to repair it first.

Quest completed

Return to Felicity tomorrow.

Landon, in the field behind the mill, has something you tell you. Go see him about starting a new race.

Rather One Rabbit in the Hand Than Ten in the Forest

landon

Hello! The rabbits on this field are very playful. They chase each other all day and love when someone on a horse tries to catch them. Have you tried? No? Then it’s time you try it.

Try to catch six rabbits as fast as you can! You finish the competition when you return to me.

Objectives: Catch six rabbits as fast as you can. Finish the competition next to Landon.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

This is honestly my least favorite race in the whole game. It is difficult. There’s no way around it.

The easiest way I have found to complete it is to use the arrow keys to control my horse, with one hand, and use the computer mouse to click on the rabbits, with the other hand.

When you have caught six rabbits, run to Landon as fast as you can to finish the race.

Good luck.

landon

He he! It was really fun! Wasn’t it? The rabbits seem to really enjoy it.

Quest completed

There is a new curious persona, landed in a hot air balloon on Everwind Fields, and he needs your assistance.

The Famous Adventurer

nic_stoneground

Hunger and weariness won’t stop me! Why, hello there! I’m famous adventurer and explorer Nic Stoneground, I’m sure you’ve heard of me! You know what, I have something fantastic going on. A most amazing project, in fact. I’m going out on an epic adventure! Could you just help me sort out a small detail since you’re here anyway?

Objectives: Talk to Nic.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

See what Nic needs help with.

nic_stoneground

Great. I just need someone who can undo these moorings for me… This balloon will take me to The Hidden Dinosaur Valley beyond Valedale Mountains. I’m sure this will be a successful expedition!

Quest completed

______________

With Hot Air Balloon to the Hidden Valley

nic_stoneground

My expedition will be legendary! By helping me undo the moorings, you’ll be part of my unlimited success, and we’ll be world famous! But first, we just have to lift off. There are four moorings around the balloon, and then it’s off to new heights!

Objectives: Tie up four moorings at the balloon. Talk to Nic again when you are finished.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

There is one mooring located at each corner of the basket, that needs to be untied.

nic_stoneground

Clear! Off we go! Airships, balloons, and zeppelins, that’s good stuff. Now it’s time! See you my friend! I’m going to The Hidden Dinosaur Valley! Who knows, maybe we’ll meet again soon!

The Journey to Valedale

alex

Ok, so this is all very interesting. What do we have? We know that Linda is locked in the castle, probably by Godfrey, ordered by the Baroness. We also know that the Baroness is extremely secretive about her former husband, John Sandman, whom she claims to be dead. This John Sandman should thus be the grandfather of Justin, and the man Justin and Sabine have gone to see. The police? Well, not yet I think, but maybe soon.

Listen, there’s someone I need you to talk to who will be able to help us. Her name is Elizabeth Sunbeam and she’s my supervisor. You’ll find her in Valedale, ever been there? Northeast of Silverglade Village you’ll find the Mill Hill Road, which later becomes the Valedale Way. Follow that up north.

Objectives: Travel to Valedale and speak to Elizabeth Sunbeam. The Mill Hill Road will take you there.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 80 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth lives in a cute little cottage just north of the stable, in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Rita, I’ve been waiting for you! How I knew you were coming? Oh, nothing mysterious about that; Alex sent me a text message. So, tell me what’s going on.

Quest completed

______________

Listen to Elizabeth

elizabeth_sunbeam

Right, I see. The Baroness seems highly involved n this, indeed, or else she would have let Linda out when you girls demanded it. At the same time there is something she is trying to hide about her past. My strong belief is that both these matters are deeply entwined. The Silverglades were a powerful family who reigned over practically all of Jorvik and to this day their members have influential positions in Jorvik Council. Silverglades are used to getting what they want. You have come upon an affair much more complicated than you ever imagined. Are you willing to continue helping us in this, Rita?

Objectives: Answer Elizabeth’s question.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 55 with Keepers of Aideen

It’s a little late to turn back now, isn’t it?

elizabeth_sunbeam

Good, we will need you. What bothers me the most is Sabine’s involvement in all this. Why that is I cannot yet tell you. What is it they want with Justin? The only way of answering that is to find out who this Mr Sandman is; he who supposedly is Justin’s grandfather.

Quest completed

______________

Elizabeth’s Test

elizabeth_sunbeam

Before you continue to Firgrove to do further research, I would like you to do something for me. It may seem strange to you now, but there is a reason to why I’m asking you to do this. You will need this… stick. Have you seen the rune stones that stand here at the hill behind the house? What you need to do is give each of these stones a minute of reflection; stand in front of it holding this artifact and watch the pattern intently. When you have done this to all of the rune stones, return to me and let me know if you felt anything… unusual.

Objectives: Take the stick, stand in front of the rune stones and concentrate on their patterns. There are four rune stones.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP, Nice Helmet

Reputation: 210 with Keepers of Aideen

Trust me, there’s a method to my madness…

The rune stones are in the first flat at the top of the hill, north of Elizabeth’s house.

When you worked all four stones, return to Elizabeth.

elizabeth_sunbeam

So, tell me what happened. They all started to glow? That’s… that’s very remarkable, Rita. It’s the first time anybody… I mean… Thank you for your participation. Will you do me a favor and please keep this to yourself? Well, you can tell Alex too, if you must, she is a member of our society – The Keepers of Aideen. That’s all you need to know for now.

Quest completed

______________

Welcome to Firgove

elizabeth_sunbeam

According to the registration books John Sandman grew up in Firgrove. You should ride over there and talk to the villagers; perhaps they can give you a clue on who this man really is.

There is a shortcut to Firgrove through the mountains. The pass may be a little difficult to find, but it’s located to the southeast of Valedale’s cross-country trail.

Objectives: Go to Firgrove through the mountain pass or by the Silversong Path.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP, Warm Sweater

The pass can be found by standing at the starting line of the Valedale Lake race, and going down the trail as if you were running the race. Immediately after the first bridge, as you make the turn, instead of following the race trail, there’s a trail to the right that goes up into the mountains. That is the start of the Firgrove mountain pass. You can follow the trail all the way to Firgrove.

Once you’re in Firgrove, speak with the stable girl, Felicity.

felicity

Hi! Welcome to Firgrove! We just got our cross-country riding track rebuilt and we’re all super excited. Hey, what if you tried it out? As an experienced rider you could probably give us some tips on what you think about it?What a great idea! There are also a lot of regular stable chores to do here, but I can see you’ve got other things to get to.

If you want to try the track out, just talk to Minka. She’s standing at the starting line by the sandpit where Andy has his sheep.

Quest completed

______________

Talk with the Elders

felicity

What? If there’s anyone you can talk to who has lived here for long? Well, you’ve come to the right place; Firgrove is full of old men and women that grew up here. Most of them are really nice, and they LOVE discussing the past. It can be rather annoying sometimes… But hey, that’s only my opinion!

Objectives: Ask the elders if they know of a man named John Sandman.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

The elders are all little clones of Mrs Packard and they are standing outside their homes around Firgroves. You’ll find the real Mrs Packard has some information for you.

mrs_packard

Dear girl, I’m so happy to meet you. What is your name? Rita. What a lovely name, dear. John Sandman, you say? It does ring a bell, actually. John Sandman… My memory may not be as good as it was, but I think that John Sandman was the man I paid my rent to when I first took over this house fifty years ago. And God knows, but I wonder if I’m not paying the rent to him still.

Quest completed

______________

The Big Picture

mrs_packard

I will try to find a rent invoice for you to look at. In fact, until then you could head over to Firgrove Town Hall and ask Mr Franklin to see the picture of the village council from 1959. Now that I think about it, Mr Sandman may have been a member of the council back then.

Objectives: Ask Mr Franklin at Firgrove Town Hall if you can see the picture of the village council.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

The town hall is located in the center of town, and Mr Franklin stands right out front of it.

mr_franklin

Ha, what are the odds! There was just a strange girl here, asking that same question about John Sandman. And what’s more, when I showed her the picture she produced a pocket knife and CUT HIM OUT of the photograph! I can’t believe you youngsters. Just because you can do something with a computer does not mean you can do the same in the real world without consequences. This isn’t ones and zeros, for God’s sake – it’s fifty year old, high-quality photo paper!

If her name was Sabine? I don’t know, she didn’t tell and she was wearing a dark cloak that hid her face. She took off on the blackest horse I’ve ever seen.

Quest completed

______________

Get the Picture?

mr_franklin

Yes- she had a big, black horse and a red and black cloak. But look, she’s still over there by the gate! HEY, COME BACK HERE, YOU HOOLIGAN!

Go get the picture back for me, will you?

Objectives: Catch Sabine and take the stolen picture from her.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Chase after Sabine like you did the first time to get the picture back.

And was that a dinosaur screech at the beginning of the cut scene?

mr_franklin

You got it back! It seems that your generation isn’t in complete decline, after all. Good work. I hope I’ll be able to restore the picture. Do you want a copy of this? I’ll make one for you.

Quest complete

______________

Collecting the Clues

mr_franklin

Here is a copy of the photograph. Mrs Packard called when you were out – apparently you have some sort of invoice to pick up in the village. Good luck with whatever your adventures may be!

Objectives: Pick up the rental invoice at Mrs Packard’s.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP, Nice Riding Pants

Ride back over to Mrs Packard to get the rental invoice.

mrs_packard

Now dear, I’ve got your invoice. See? The sender has a post office box in Silverglade Village. Does that help you in your research? Here. You can keep this invoice; it’s months old.

Quest completed

______________

Reporting to Elizabeth

mrs_packard

Good luck with your research dear. Oh, you’re off to see Elizabeth? Do tell her I said hi. She’s such a lovely girl, Elizabeth; she’s always welcome here in Firgrove.

Objectives: Show the clues to Elizabeth Sunbeam in Valedale

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 80 XP

Reputation: 65 with Keepers of Aideen

Now that you have the picture and mailing address as clues, return to Elizabeth and tell her what you’ve learned.

You can take the Firgrove mountain pass back the way you came.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Welcome back Rita. What have you found? A photo of Mr Sandman, I see. And this? This may be the number of his post office box? Good detective work!

Quest completed

______________

Only Alex Can Tell

elizabeth_sunbeam

Wait  minute, this looks like… There’s a man known as Mr Sands who looks frighteningly like the person in this picture. Mr Sands is the leader of Dark Core – an organization with an even darker agenda than that of Global Energy Domination.

Have you shown this to Alex? She would be really interested in seeing this photo – She has fought against Mr Sands before, you see, and has a deep hatred for him. Sh will be able to tell whether or not the man in this photo and Mr Sands are the same person.

Objectives: Show Alex the photo and ask her if she recognizes Mr Sands.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to Alex at the Manor and show her what you have found.

alex

What have you found? A picture of John Sandman? Let me see it…

Oh, God. That’s him. Mr Sands. How could I not have realized this before? I guess it just didn’t occur to me that things could be this severe. Or maybe I was just being naive… So this means that Mr Sands is Justin’s grandfather and that Justin could be in danger as we speak!

Quest completed

______________

The Letter Trap

alex

You have an idea? Good, tell me about it! Ok, so you got the address to this post office box… It belongs to Mr Sands? Really? That’s a great lead! So what’s the idea? A letter? That sounds very interesting…

Ok, so let me see if I got this straight. You’re suggesting that we send a fake letter to Mr Sands’s post office box just to make him come there and get it? Right? That’s a fantastic idea, Rita. In that way you can watch the office from a distance and when he comes, make sure that he’s actually alive and active in Jorvik. Awesome plan, really.

Wait, I actually think I have an empty envelope on me… Here it is. And viola: a pencil! The only thing I don’t have is a stamp. You could ask Judy in the stable, I bet she keeps  stack of them somewhere.

Objectives: Ask Judy the stable girl for a postage stamp.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ask Judy for a stamp.

judy

Rita, what are you up to? A postage stamp? Sure I do.

Quest completed

______________

Post It

judy

Ok, here’s your stamp, let me put it on for you. There. You’ll find the mailbox right by the gates of the manor.

Objectives: Put the letter in the mailbox.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Take the letter to the same mailbox you did when you delivered the letter for the Baroness.

Return to Alex when you have done so.

alex

You put it on the mailbox? Great.

Quest completed

Return to Alex tomorrow.

While you’re waiting for the post, Sophie, in Valedale wants to start a new track, and needs your help.

A New Competition in Hollow Woods

sophie

Hello Rita! I haven’t had that much to do recently so I went to see my friend Minka in Firgrove. What an amazing race trail they had there! I thought that I should try and make something similar back home in Valedale, so now there is a race here too!

I think the race trail looks great but there are a couple last things to do before we can have you test it out.

First of all, there are a couple rare flowers growing right in the middle of the track. We need you to pick them up, roots and all, so we can plant them back here where they will be safe. It would be horrible if they got trampled when the track starts getting used.

Objectives: Gently pick the rare flowers that are out on the racing trail, with the roots and everything. Plant them again behind Sophie.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The quest requires eight actions; four retrieving the plants, and four transplanting them.

The flowers are to be put in around the lightpost near Sophie.

sophie

Those look beautiful Rita! Now they are safe and I have something nice to look at too! Thank you!

Quest completed

______________

Junk in the Woods

sophie

There is one more thing we need to take care of before we try the track. It is important that it looks nice around the track, but I saw some litter around the track just yesterday. It is so sad when people don’t pick up after themselves. Ride out there and bring it to me. I’ll put it where it should go when I get back to the barn in Valedale.

Objectives: There is some litter out on the track. Please ride out and pick it up so it can be properly disposed of.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Pick up the trash, as highlighted on your minimap, and return to Sophie when you are finished.

sophie

Great Rita. I’ll throw it out in Valedale Village when I get back. Thank you very much.

Quest completed

______________

Ready to Ride

sophie

There we go! Well done Rita! Are you ready to test out the new riding trail? It is going to be great, I just know it. Good luck!

Objectives: Ride the new trail to the finish.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Race the track, and speak with Sophie when you are done.

sophie

Did you like the new race? Great! I hope more people come and try the new trail. Talk to me again if you want to ride it again.

Quest completed

You can now ride the Valedale track as a daily race.

There is one more forest creature that needs your help. He (she?) can be found perched on a rock in Hollow Woods, near where Sonja is riding around.

Gone with the Wind

birdie

Tweet, tweet? Tweet-tweet, tweet. Twe-twe-twe-twe-twe-twe. TWEET?!

Objectives: Tweet?! Twe-twe-twe-twe-twe-twe…

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

Reputation: 55 with Keepers of Aideen

You’re in luck, I speak Birdinese, and can translate for you…

“Birdie’s babies are missing from the nest. They are scattered around Hollow Woods and he would greatly appreciate it if you returned them to the nest.”

Paraphrased of course…

There are six babies in total. Return them to the birdhouse in the tree behind where Birdie is standing.

birdie
