It’s a chilly Sunday here in Wisconsin, time to bundle up, and report this week’s top searches!

Star Stable Cheats

There are none.

I make this blog to help you with getting through the game. I completely understand being stuck on a certain part and not being able to advance because of it. Things that do not relate to advancing through the game (i.e. stars, secret locations) will not be posted on the blog. If you need help finding them, please contact me in game and I can show you a few.

I am working on the gear inventory. These will be linked via the new ‘Gear Inventory’ page on the top navigation. The list is only meant to help you quickly browse all the gear available in the game. There will be no list of the ‘best’ outfits, as I feel that is a very subjective thing. If you want to be better at a certain stat, you will have to find the gear that best boosts that stats. I will not tell you what the ‘best’ outfit is.

Message in a Bottle Quest

This is is one of the hidden quests, and I have the maps and objectives, sans exact dialogue, listed in the Hidden Quests quick link on the sidebar. If you have a certain specific question with it, feel free to comment on the post or on the Get Help Here page.

‘Wild Horse’ Glitch

I will NEVER post how to do it on the blog, no will I tell you, even if you ask in game. I strongly do not recommend doing it because you have to edit the game’s data files and it can/will cause your game to crash. Also, if the game creators want you to be able to play as your horse, they would have made that option available. Please, just don’t do it. This is another one of those touchy subjects for me, as is the issue of complaining about the cost of membership. You can see my full reasoning stated on the About SSORT page.

Valentines Letters

I didn’t note the exact locations, as I will not be posting these quests on the blog. I will say though, that all of the letters are inside Silverglade Village (so you do not have to go outside the walls) and they can be found inside the gardens and behind the houses in the village. They aren’t hard to get to, and the area to search isn’t very big. I found them all in only a couple of minutes. Just keep looking!

Special Plants for Elizabeth

I just published the post for these quests. The water lily can be found in the reeds along the river. Go across the bridge, from Elizabeth’s house, then turn left and go along the trail next to the river, towards the waterfall. The thorns are on the trail going up to the Observatory. Once you leave the Hollow Woods, and start heading up into the mountains, the thorns are right on the edge of the trail. Or even kind of on the trail. They’re hard to miss. Once you have both ingredients, take them back to Elizabeth.

Taking Pictures/Video in Game

You have to use a screen capture program. There are a few good ones around, but I recommend Fraps (which is what I use for the blog). It’s free to download and use as much as you want. There are certain features (like unlimited video or taking pictures as different file types, you will have to pay for) but for the basic purposes it works very well. It saves the pictures right to your computer’s hard drive, in a folder that you can designate,  so you can take as many pictures as you want in the game, and then go through and edit them later.

Views on this blog have more than doubled just in the last month or so. I just wanted to say, I’m glad I can help you all.

Also, quick plug: Please give your opinion in the poll! I would really appreciate it!

Jumping quests

You have to be a Star Rider to be able to jump. If you are upgraded, just keep doing your quests. On day five, Justin Moorland will appear at Steve’s farm and will teach you how to jump. (If you aren’t keeping track of the days, it will be when you help Steve get rid of the mice on his farm)

How to find Landon

Landon is is the field behind the windmill. He’s kind of between the West Jorvik Highway (the road that goes straight north to the Baroness track) and the Hollow Woods road. Coming from the West Jorvik Highway, you’ll pass a big hill that is parallel to the windmill. Directly after that turn right and go into the field. You’ll pass a couple of sheep standing around. Landon is at the top of that little hill, above the sheep.

Zombie horses vs excavators

Please see the Gondola Building/Video Game quick link on the sidebar for all of these quest sets

I recently pulled them all together into one post, as I saw a lot of people were still asking about these quests.

Where is Godfrey

He can be found at the Winery. Depending on where you are in the game, he will usually be standing directly in front of the main building. But he is always at the Winery.

Blue dye for the tailor

Conrad Marsdeen, the blacksmith, knows how to make excellent blue dye out of lapis lazuli stones. He will send you to Nilmer’s Highland to get them. Follow the little trail just north of the abandoned farm (not through it), towards the meadow with the circus cart. Along that little trail, off to the right and in the bushes, will be little piles of rock with blue stones in it. Take these back to Conrad.

How to find the bear in Firgrove

Take the Fire Trail (just after crossing the bridge take the road to the right, it is not marked on your map) and follow it all the way to the end. There will be a bulldozer parked in another tunnel. There’s a trail off to the left of the road, leading up into the woods. You can follow that trail all the way up to the bear’s cave.

Star locations

I will NOT be posting the exact locations of the stars on the blog, for the same reason I will not be posting secret locations. Finding the stars is not crucial to progression in the game. I feel that it’s okay to get help on tricky parts of the game so that you can continue to move on, I don’t think that every single aspect of game play should be given as a handout (which is also why, on the gear list I am making I will not be making a list of the best outfits. You will have to do that on your own). Please don’t get mad at not being able to find the stars. As of right now there aren’t even any rewards given for finding them all. If you want to message me in the game I will be happy to help you, but I will not post the locations on the blog.

How to unlock Golden Hills Valley

This will be done through the course of the story (about halfway through level twelve). So just keep doing your story quests!

_____

Does anyone know what this means?

“bengt is on vacation until 10th of february and i think it’s important that he participating to this meeting. shouldn’t we try to find another day for this?”

and

“bengt is on vacation until 10th of february and i think it’s important that he participating to this meeting. don’t you?”

Someone searched for it five -5!- times that linked to my blog. It looks like a conversation from someone’s email, but why would they be typing it into a search engine? I don’t know… lol

The internet never ceases to amaze, amuse, and confuse me.

Mr Bucket

He can be found on the hill next to the road at the northern most point on the West Jorvik Highway, near the construction site, and across from the Baroness’ racing track.

Message in a Bottle

This is a hidden quest, which I have at least provided the locations to them, sans dialogue (I won’t be doing these until my blog character gets to Goldenleaves Valley so I can do all three at once). There is a quick link to the hidden quests on the sidebar.

One Saved Two Remain Quest

I’m assuming you’re having trouble finding the other two tourists, then. They are in the field behind Steve’s farm. If you go to Steve’s farm, get to the field by going next to the stable. They are right at the top of the little hill, on the edge of the field, quite near the feed box on the Steve’s farm racetrack.

Where is Tan

Tan is standing outside the gates of Moorland stable, near Loretta, and the Bobcat girls paddock.

Minka in Firgrove

She is in a little clearing off of the main road to Firgrove. The trail leads off, very near to Firgrove. If you are riding towards Firgrove it is right before the little jog in the road. The trailhead is marked with a banner over the top of it.

List of Best Clothes for Competitions

I actually don’t have one, but if you were all willing to help make suggestions, I would gladly make one!

Right now, I am wearing the Valedale druid outfit and that seems to be the fastest outfit I currently have. I know the Goldenleaves set is pretty good too. Generally, though, expensive items (thus giving better stats) can mostly be found in the fishing village.

How to make character disappear so everyone only sees a horse.

This is actually a glitch in the game, that can be exploited by editing the game’s data files on your computer. I am not going to tell you how to do this, because 1: it can/will effect your gameplay in a negative way, and 2: such exploitation could actually be punishable by the game mods (if they choose to do so). If you are so desperate, I am sure there are other players who will tell you how to do this, but I strongly do not recommend it.

–

This was not in the top searches, but it caught my eye:

Star Stable Online Zombie

My reaction: o.O

I’m not really sure what you mean, have heard about this, or are looking for. I certainly have not heard of a zombie in the game. There are ghosts, and enchanted scarecrows, but I have yet to come across any zombies. If there are zombies, I unfortunately left my zombie-fighting pack at home, for this game. Maybe John Marston from Red Dead Redemption/Undead Nightmare can lend me his?

(And if you wondered why I wasn’t online all week I was sick, that other game is why ^^ )

–

Lastly, I always find it entertaining to see the viewer stats of my blog. My favorite is the map of the viewer locations across the world. Totally cool. At the end of the year, WordPress publishes a year-end stat report on your blog. While I’m sure I am piggybacking on the success of the game, I am still a bit impressed by these stats, considering the blog has only been open about two and a half months.

I made the report public, for you all to see, in case you were curious too. 🙂

SSORT year-end stat report

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend, and here’s to looking forward to the next one!

Sorry I haven’t been posting much this week. I’ve been really sick.

A little advice to y’all. Money is gross. As a cashier, I’ve seen some of the horrible places people keep their money (and I don’t mean wallets or purses, or even pockets!). So while you may want to take in the fresh scent of the crisp bill you got for your allowance, don’t put that near your face. Just don’t. You don’t know where it’s been….

And if you do handle money frequently as part of your job, keep a bottle of hand sanitizer near, and wash your hands as often as you can. Your immune system will thank you.

But I digress, let’s get to the questions!

Mississippi Jones’ first clue

Can be found along the wall of Fort Pinta, right next to the bridge.

Someone who likes video games as much as Crew Lead (in Northlink)

Ms Morse. She is the one you got the video game from to begin with. Go back to the Firgrove Mountain Pass where you first found her.

Message in a bottle

The start of this quest can be found as bottle floating in the water around Thorny Banks.

Sorry about the link on the sidebar to the hidden quests wasn’t working. That should be fixed!

How to get past Old Man Jasper

This will be done in the course of your story quests, so make sure to keep playing!

Reputation with Keepers of Aideen, Sun Circle

This will be available when you get about half way through level 13, via story quests. Elizabeth will start you with your druid training. Once you get the walkthrough of all the different exercises, they will become daily quests that you will need to do to build your reputation, so make sure you do them everyday.

How to get across the broken bridge

I’m assuming you mean the one near Moorland. Currently there is no way across. I’m sure it will be fixed in future updates of the game, so be patient!

What is my blog avatar?

This isn’t really a question that has been searched for on the blog, but I have been asked in game, and I’m sure you’re all wondering anyway.

The picture is of my German Shepherd dog character named Dave. I purchased the avatar from an artist on Deviantart.com. I don’t claim credit to the art, but having purchased it I own the right to use it where I choose. Besides Star Stable, I do play several other online games (mostly browser based sim games) and Dave is my alter-ego/character/online face. He’s a pretty awesome guy, if I do say so myself -smugface-

The avatars on this blog are plugins via Gravatar. You can upload your own avatar to use on the blog by creating a Gravatar account, or creating a WordPress account and linking your Gravatar that way.

______________

Thanks for reading, and thanks to the players who have been helping answer questions in my absence. You know who you are. Give yourself a cookie, you’ve earned it!

Lastly, I realize that sometimes the images appear weird on the screen when the page loads (either they’re squished or are just super tiny). I don’t know why this happens, but all you have to do is refresh the webpage and the images should load as normal.

That’s all for this week. Happy gaming!

Whose Hat is That?

When you find the hat in Jasper’s attic, it is strangely like the hat James in Fort Pinta wears -winkwink-

Old foundations for gondola lift locations

They should be marked on your map in orange, but the first one is right across the road, and then there’s two large boulders and a little rise in the land. Go between the boulders and up towards the mountain the observatory is on. The rest of the foundations are in that direction.

Silverglade castle

I’m not really sure what the question is, but all I know is that once you free Linda from it, there isn’t much else to do with it. The only other time that you will need to go into the castle is to look at the painting of the key to get into Goldenleaves Valley.

Mississippi Jones quests

I am working on these right now! The official post should be finished by the end of this week. In the mean time player Amanda has posted a great little guide to the clues in the comments on the Get Help Here page.

Ms Morse on the mountain pass

Once on the mountain pass, you can’t miss her. She is right off to the side of the trail, more towards Valedale Lake than Firgrove. To get to the mountain pass, there are two ways. From Valedale Lake, follow the trail as if you were running the Valedale Lake race (coming in from Valedale, past the horse transport, facing Mr Andersson, go to the left). At the end of the bridge there is a sharp turn to the left and the trail splits. Take the right trail upwards into the mountains. Coming from Firgrove, the trail starts along the road just outside the palisades. The trail head is between a large boulder and the second lamp, to the right of the road, when you are facing away from Firgrove.

Lapis lazuli

You will need these stones for Conrad Marsdeen to make blue dye for your riding jacket. It can be found up in Nilmer’s Highland. Follow the trail as if you were riding the Bobcat Girls’ track. Right when the trail leaves the road and goes along behind the abandoned farm, that is where the stones are. If you get to the meadow where the circus cart is, you’ve gone too far.

Barney’s silo

His silo is beside the field next to the field behind Steve’s farm. Leaving the east gate of Silverglade village, follow the road straight east past Steve’s farm. Barney’s silo will be on the right.

Where is Doyle’s Chapel

The chapel is inside the walls, at the corner between Fort Pinta and Moorland roads. Follow the trail behind Mary to get to the chapel.

Present for Ms Morse from Crew Lead (aka Bengt)

I’m assuming this is after they meet and he wants a present to give to her for his proposal. He suggests the present should have something to do with pole bending. Speak with Josh in Moorland about a present, as he also likes pole bending.

Today is a short list, and a bit repetitive from last week but I will still answer your questions!

How to get past G.E.D. worker / Blocked Valedale lake pass

This has been in place for the last couple weeks now, but there isn’t any thing to do with it. I’m sure it will probably have something to do with the up coming story quests in the future. At the moment, there’s nothing you can do to get past him.

Find Butler

The butler (the only one in the game) is Godfrey, who works at the Silverglade Winery. He is also the person you go to for the Mississippi Jones quests to find “Butler_01”

Old gondola lift

This is located north of the Everwind fields. Take the West Jorvik Highway (the road going north out of Silverglade Village) and at the north most point on the road you will find the location of the old gondola lift. If you follow the road a little more north, you’ll be in the tunnel construction site, which you will need to go to for the gondola building quests.

Learn to jump

You have to be a Star Rider to do this. On the fifth day of quests, Justin Moorland will be at Steve’s farm and will teach you how to jump.

Secret quest locations

I won’t tell you where the secret locations to find on the map are, but I’m assuming you mean the hidden quests. I don’t have the dialogue for these quests yet, but the map locations are documented here.

Where is Conrad the smith

He is in Moorland, in between the west and north gates of Moorland stable. If you follow Tan’s first race track, starting from the Bobcat girls, take the road around the outside of the stables. There’s a slight bend in the road to the right, but at that bend, go straight, off the road there’s a trail into the woods. The smithy is down that trail.

______________

That’s it for today. As always, if you have any specific questions, please post a comment on any of the blog posts or the Get Help Here page. You can also message me in game on the American server, Maggie Oldcamp or Rita Turtlefoot.

Have a happy Sunday!

Learn to Jump

You have to be a Star Rider to be able to jump, but on the fifth day of quests, Justin Moorland will be at Steve’s farm, and will teach you how to jump.

Mississippi Jones Quests

I have been getting A LOT of questions about these quests, and all I have to say is that I honestly don’t remember the specific clues from the quests, so saying you need help with the Mississippi Jones quests will not help me. If you can tell me the clue given to you in the quests, I will be able to help you more efficiently.

Correct me if I’m wrong but these quests are reached at level 10. My character for the blog is about halfway through level 9, so I should get to these quests soon!

Find the Ornaments Quest

This one is a little hard to describe, but I’ll try my best.

On the west side of the castle, just off the road, down in the ditch around the castle, there is a little dirt trail that goes between two pointy rocks. Up the little rise, immediately to the right, behind the bushes, is the hidden decorations.

christmas-hidden_decorations

Find Mr Bucket

Mr Bucket is located all the way at the northern most part of the West Jorvik Highway, across from the Baroness’ riding track. Before the construction site, east of the road, there’s a big hill that rises towards the construction site. Mr Bucket is at the top of the hill.

tss-mr_bucket

Rare Metal Quest

The trail to find the rare metal starts up in the north by the Baroness’ racing track.

christmas-crash_trail

The trail starts here, head straight north.

Because this spot is also a secret location, I will not post the exact map location, though you are given the direct coordinates from the quest.

Valedale Lake Dark Core Guard

I actually don’t know anything about this. I noticed when it was added several weeks ago, and I think it will have something to do with later quests. At the moment it is nothing that you can interact with.

How Long Until Alex Gets Back to You

I’m assuming this is after you free Linda from the castle.

I haven’t gotten to the part when Alex does find you again with my blog character, but it is at least a few days. You will build the gondola, help Steve with the holes on his farm, and get Marley’s jumping track under way. Alex will find you shortly after that. I’m currently working on the post for these quests right now, so stay tuned.

Hidden Quest Locations

Can all be found here!

______________

My list of searches is definitely getting longer, holy dang guys! I love that you’re reading the blog and finding it useful. As always, I’m here to help. If you have a specific questions, feel free to comment on any of the blog posts or on the Get Help Here page. You can also message me in-game. My main character is Maggie Oldcamp. My blog character is Rita Turtlefoot.

Hope you have a happy Sunday!

Welcome to the second addition of Top Search Sunday!

Quest Cheats

There are none. You’re going to have to do everything yourself just like the rest of us.

Person who likes dandelions

Mrs Holdsworth. Remember, she made the dandelion potion for the sick cow.

Conrad Marsdeen’s tools

I answered this in the previous TSS, but I’ll answer it again since people are still searching for it.

The tools are still highlighted in orange on your minimap. They can be found scattered along the ground near the pole bending course in Moorland.

The riddle of steel quest

This quest is fairly straightforward, if you need help, the post about it is here.

Where is the clincher?

See the section above about Conrad’s tools.

Hidden quests

Locations, sans dialogue, can be found here.

How to get to Loretta?

You will find Loretta eventually, continue with your quests. If you need help the post for it is here.

top search sunday

In my blog stats I am able to see the top searches done on search engines that have linked to my blog. I will say there is no such thing as a silly question, but many of them are easy to answer. And obviously if you are Googling the question, it needs answering!

Also, if you have a question, even if it is not relevant to the quests being posted, feel free to use Get Help Here page to ask your questions in the comments and I will answer them as quickly and as best I can.

So for our inaugural Top Search Sunday:

Dangerous animals in Star Stable?

No, not really. There is the bear in the cave in Firgrove and the wolves on the road to North Iron Gate in Goldenleaves Valley.

Wait, yes. The evil scarecrows in scarecrow hill. Floating on black smoke with lazer beam eyes! Aaaahhhh!!!!!

Where is Mrs Holdsworth in Star Stable?

She is in the cute little cottage behind Moorland Stable.

Where can I find the tools in Star Stable Online?

Tools? Do you mean for the Conrad quest ‘Tools of the Trade’

They are scattered along the side of the road next to the pole bending track.

Star Stable fishing places?

Can be found here!

How to dismount on Star Stable?

Next to your horseshoe map, to the left at the bottom, there is a button with a green arrow pointing at the ground. Click that button to dismount your horse. In other quests and at the disco, for example, there will be a button in the same place to do different actions.

What is the quest to jump in Star Stable?

Your training starts with the ‘An Obstacle to Build’ quest once you reach level five. You have to be a Star Rider to be able to reach this quest.

How to get your horse not to be scared of machines?

Unfortunately this is a fact of life. It is a well-known phrase in the horse world: Horses are afraid of two things; things that move, and things that don’t. So basically, everything.

In the game, if you mean the bulldozer blocking the road (as that is the only machine I know the horses are afraid of), you must be a Star Rider to be able to get past it.

Where do you find a bucket on Star Stable?

You will receive your bucket in the ‘Collect the Tools’ quest with Justin Moorland. This quest appears on the first day in the game, so just keep doing your quests and you’ll get there!

______________

That’s it for today. Have a happy Sunday, more quests will be posted tomorrow!

And don’t forget, if you have a question that hasn’t been answered, just ask!
