Mario has a little endeavor he would like help with. Speak with him at the Observatory.

A Real Star Stone

mario

Allo Rita! You know what? The stock has arrived for my very own store! Now it is only a question of who is going to work in it…

I have gotten in a lot of applications… But I have picked out three final candidates. But, I can’t decide on which one I should pick… They all look so good. Can you ride around and meet them and let me know which one you like the best?

Objectives: Speak with Mario again.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Tell Mario that you will happily help him out.

mario

You can? Wow, I’m lucky to know you! Now listen here…

Quest completed

______________

Star Candidate Number 1

mario

The first candidate for the job is… I don’t really know what he is called… He has just signed his application with “#357.”

He looks very good anyways and you can find him in Moorland by the Dark Core landing place. Go there and interview him and see if he would be good for the job.

Objectives: Speak with #357 by the Dark Core landing place in Moorland.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

#357 can be found hanging around near the loading containers on the beach behind Mrs Holdsworth’s house.

shady_guy

What are you looking at?

Quest completed

______________

Candidate from Dark Core

shady_guy

…Run a store in the Observatory… I am perfect for that…

…I’m good with people… You get it?

Why am I good for the job? What? Don’t you trust me? Are you calling me a liar?

…Okay… Okay… You seem nice, I know you didn’t mean that, I get it.

Okay. I’d be good for the job because I like stars, and if anyone tries to steal anything I’ll just throw them off the cliff… So Mario doesn’t have to worry about anyone taking his stuff. You get it? I really like planets and stars and stuff, so I would be perfect for the job.

Tell Mario I’ll see him up at the Observatory when he gives me the job.

Objectives: Ride back to Mario and tell him about Candidate #357.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

He sounds promising… I think…

mario

So, you have spoken with #357? What was he like?

Quest completed

______________

Star Candidate Number 2

mario

Candidate number two looks really promising, I have to say. It is a young girl, but she seems very competent and mature in her letter. In her photo she looks like she couldn’t be more than sixteen… But that doesn’t mean she can’t take responsibility for her store, does it?

Her name is Julie and she lives in Firgrove, at any rate. Ride over there and interview her and see if she might be the right person to run my store.

Objectives: Ride to Firgrove and speak with Julie.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Julie can be found near the house behind the horses for sale in Firgrove.

mrs_packard

Julie? Yes, that is me. Young?

Eh… That photo I sent with the application might have been a little old…

Quest completed

______________

Candidate from Firgrove

mrs_packard

I would be perfect for running the store at the Observatory! I am organized, mature, and good at climbing which would be useful if the gondola lift is ever out of service.

What have I worked with before? I was a mountain climber. I was the first person to climb to the top of the Garnok volcano in 1984, if you didn’t already know!

Mountain climbing and running a store are not really related? My dear… They are almost the exact same thing! Both require you to be prepared for anything and to never take your eye off the mountain!… Or the customer in the store anyways.

Ride over to Mario and let him know I would do a great job running his store.

Objectives: Ride back to Mario and tell him about Julie.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

It’s always good to have someone with plenty of experience…

mario

You spoke with Julie, what was she like?

Quest completed

______________

Star Candidate Number 3

mario

The last candidate I found is a lady named Bella who lives at the Winery. She has been working in one of the stores there for a long time and now she thinks she is ready to run a store of her own. That sounds really good, doesn’t it Rita?

Ride over to the Winery and speak with Bella and see if she might be the one for the job.

Objectives: Ride to the Winery and speak with Bella.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Julie can be found standing outside the store past the Manor building.

WHAT? SPEAK LOUDER! I CAN’T HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!!!

Quest completed

______________

Candidate from the Winery

FIND A NAIL IN THE DRILLING TOWER? ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

RUN A STORE AT THE OBSERVATORY? AHA, WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST SAY SO?

I AM PERFECT FOR THE JOB! I WORKED IN A STORE FOR MANY YEARS! YOU DON’T THINK SO?

AHA! WHY DID I QUIT? THE BOSS TOLD ME I WAS SCREAMING AT THE CUSTOMERS WHICH WAS BAD FOR BUSINESS! I CAN’T HELP THAT I WAS BLESSED WITH A STRONG VOICE!! IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A STRONG VOICE IN THE MOUNTAINS! I CAN CALL OUT ADVERTISING OVER THE MOUNTAINTOPS SO MARIO DOESN’T NEED TO SPEND A SINGLE SHILLING ON ADVERTISING!

Objectives: Ride back to Mario and tell him about Bella.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Well at least there wasn’t any possibility of mishearing her…

mario

Ah, you met Bella at the Winery. How was she?

Quest completed

______________

Who Should Get the Job?

mario

Oh Rita, I don’t know which one I should choose… All three look so good.

Objectives: Answer Mario’s question.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

You did the interviews, so you get to choose who will be the best candidate to run Mario’s store. Your choice will not change the outcome of the game. Whomever you choose will appear at Mario’s store as the shopkeeper. The choice is completely up to you! So who do you choose??

mario

That is great! Then I will send a message to our winner!

Quest completed

Return to Mario tomorrow.

______________

Waiting for the Winner

mario

Allo Rita, the store is finally open! Can you ride over and make sure everything is okay? Great! Come back after you check so I can thank you properly.

Objectives: Ride up to the store in the Observatory and then return to Mario.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Go up to the pavilion attached to the outside of the Observatory and check to see how your new employee is faring with their job. Return to Mario when you have confirmed everything is going well.

mario

Everything is done? That’s great Rita, you have been a huge help. You can shop here any time you like.

Quest completed

You now have access to the shop up on the pavilion.

Return to Mario when you are Liked by A.A.E.

______________

Surprise for a Star

mario

Allo Rita! You have helped me a lot with the Observatory. You have helped me so much that I have had some time to do something else for once!

I don’t ride very much myself, which I’m sure you already knew. I have studied horse anatomy and done analysis of some of the races around Jorvik. It is a hobby I have had for a long time that I have finally been able to spend a little bit of time on.

When you were helping me with the telescope, I found the time to put together a new race for you around the Obeservatory that I’ve always wanted to build. Would you like to try it?

You would? Good luck!

Objectives: Ride to the finish.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Try out Mario’s new race and then speak with him when you have completed it.

mario

Fantastique! Amazingly well ridden, Rita. Come back and ride the track again any time you like.

Quest completed

Return to Mario when you are Popular with A.A.E.

______________

Big Cleanup

mario

Hello Rita. Wow, have I been working hard! I’ve done a really big cleanup here! Now I just need to dispose of all this old scrap that I have piled together.

I ordered a container, but as usual, they didn’t manage to drive it all the way up here so it has been left down by North Link. If you could take the heaviest things down on horseback to the Gondola lift station, then I can take care of them from there.

You can do that for me? You are so kind!

Objectives: Collect the old scrap in the Observatory and leave it at the gondola lift station.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Click on the door of the Observatory to pick up a load of scrap, then take it to the front of the gondola lift station and it will be automatically dropped off. It will take several trips to clean out the Observatory. When you are finished, return to Mario.

mario

Fantastique! You are an angel, Rita!

Quest completed

______________

A Table for the Balcony

mario

In the rubbish, I actually found one thing I thought was worth keeping. My old dining room table that I brought with me from France. It would be sad to throw that away… So I came up with an idea! We’ll put it out on the balcony and serve food there. If you could get it from the Observatory and put it up on the balcony, it would be wonderful.

You’ll do it? Thank you so much, Rita!

Objectives: Take the table and put it on the Observatory balcony.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The table is in your inventory. Go up on the balcony and place the table on the far side of the balcony area. Return to Mario when you are finished.

mario

Merci Rita! If you like you can go and have a look at my beautiful table. But now we need to cover that table with food. It needs to be just like my grandmother used to have it when she cooked for big parties!

Quest completed

______________

Carney’s Culinary Masterwork

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Objectives: Speak with Mario

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation 10 with A.A.E.

Ride back to the Observatory and deliver Marley’s food.

mario

Oh wow… That smells fantastic!

Quest completed

______________

No Dinner Without Cheese

mario

Rita, here in Jorvik, we eat a little bit of everything, but I come from a country with a long culinary history. We cannot possibly have a party dinner without serving a nice cheese. Ride over to Will by the windmill and ask him for a piece of his amazing cheese.

Objectives: Speak with Will.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride down to the Silverglade windmill and speak with Will.

will

Rita, I want to give Mario my very best cheese. I know nothing else will be good enough for him… But right now I don’t have any left. Here is my last little piece, take it. I’ll try and find some more, but right now he will have to make do with this.

Objectives: Speak with Mario.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride back to the Observatory with the cheese from Will.

mario

Aaahhh… Can you smell it Rita? This cheese smells worse than a dirty diaper! Lovely!

Quest completed

Return to Mario tomorrow.

______________

Waiting for the Party

mario

Rita, I would love to have a party but I’m not sure when I can do it… The food won’t be enough and I don’t really have time right now. We should probably have it later. But of course this shouldn’t go to waste. I’ve put the food up on the balcony so guests can enjoy some of it.

Have you been in the Observatory yet? Now it is open for everyone. Go in and have a look and let me know what you think.

Objectives: Go in the Observatory and speak with Mario when you come back.

Rewards: 75 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Dismount your horse and go up to the doors of the Observatory and go inside. When you are done exploring inside, go back out and speak with Mario.

Let’s check if your wolf-repelling measures have worked for the chickens.

Can I Hear Clucking from the Chicken Coop?

andy

Hi, Rita! Do you want some eggs? We have plenty! Can you collect some eggs to take some over to Grandma? You just have to put your hands inside the chicken wire, the eggs are in the hay. One dozen should be enough. Can you ride with a basket of eggs to Firgrove Village? I promise my grandma will be overjoyed! Good luck and be sure to ride carefully! The eggs will break if you aren’t careful riding!

Objectives: Pick up some eggs from the chicken coop and ride to Mrs Packard in Firgrove Village.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride to the chicken coop, and click on it to pick up the eggs. The eggs will then be in a basket behind your saddle. If you ride at any speed above a walk, the ‘Danger!’ meter will fill up. Once it fills up completely, the eggs will break. You can prevent this by slowing to a walk or stopping completely to let the meter drain when it gets too high, before riding more.

Take the eggs to Mrs Packard’s house in Firgrove.

mrs_packard

The eggs are so fine! It is great to hear that the chickens are doing well again! Both of us are so grateful for your help dear Rita. You will of course get something for your effort. But I have one last thing I want to ask you about.

Quest competed

______________

Egg Delivery

mrs_packard

My good friend Harold in Silverglade Village bakes amazing pastries and he needs fine eggs. It’s so much fun to be able to give him fresh eggs. I have packed the eggs so you can ride fast without breaking them. Can you help me? I will see to it that your reward will be at Harold’s when you get there.

Objectives: Deliver the eggs to Harold in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 300 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP, Cupcake Top

You can ride as fast as you want now. Onward to Silverglade Village!

Mush! … Wait, wrong animal…

Giddyup?

harold

Rita! Great to see you again. I heard that you would be coming over with fine eggs for me. Thank you so much! Oh, I remember. Here is your reward from Mrs Packard. She said I should give this to you. Have a nice day!

Quest completed

Let’s go check on our sick horse in Firgrove.

How is Summerbreeze?

felicity

Summerbreeze still doesn’t want to eat or drink. Can you talk to the vet again? You can take the transporter to Steve’s farm if you think it’s too far.

Objectives: Visit the Vet again.

Rewards 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Take your preferred method of travel to Silverglade Village. Once there, speak with the Vet about Summerbreeze.

(On a side note, my horse’s name is Summerblaze. Maybe they’re related?)

vet

Good thing you’re here, I’ve been reading my old notes.

Quest completed

______________

An Unusual Disease

vet

As I said, I’ve been reading my old notes and books and I found some cases which remind me of this. It can be anything from an unusual fever to something much worse. But we shouldn’t worry Felicity. Or what do you think?

Objectives: Listen to what the vet has to say.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The vet will explain what needs to be done to ease Summerbreeze’s ills.

vet

Anyhow, I had a similar case a couple of years ago. I never found out what it was, so I’m not sure now either. But I have an idea about what we can do.

Quest completed

______________

A Special Cure for Horses

vet

There is a special cure, a brew you can give to horses with unusual symptoms. I can’t guarantee that it will work, but it’s work a try. Do you want to help me?

Objectives: Do you want to help the vet?

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

I’ll do anything for my poor horsie friend!

vet

You’re a star! I need help collecting ingredients for the brew we’ll give Summerbreeze. It’ll be a time consuming task. I have to go to Felicity and Summerbreeze for a closer examination.

Quest completed

______________

Delivery to Elizabeth

vet

I spoke to Elizabeth in Valedale. She’s really good at mixing brews. We agreed that you can help us get a special apple. When you find it, you can give it to her. You may have visited the Applegrove opposite the Thornrocks? It’s said that during each season, there’s one apple that shines like gold. Ride along and look for that apple. Hurry, time is short!

Objectives: Find the special apple in the Applegrove opposite the Thornrocks and give it to Elizabeth in Valedale.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

The clue ‘opposite the Thornrocks’ means ‘across the river from the Thornrocks.’

Applegrove is along the Fire Trail. Once you cross the bride, as if you were going to Firgrove, instead of going up the hill, take the first trail off to the right. It is a road, but it is not marked on the map. Follow the road for a little bit, and off to the right-hand side you will see trees with apples on them. To get the golden apple, you will have to leave the road a bit and go down into the trees.

quest-applegrove

Once you find the golden apple, take it to Elizabeth in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Hi Rita! Oh, you found the apple! The vet told me you were coming. I’ll use the apple as the base for the cure. Tomorrow, I’ll need more help from you, because I need two more ingredients. Now, however, I have to start the brew. It’ll take a while. Felicity says she’s extremely grateful for your help in this difficult time.

Quest completed

Return to Elizabeth tomorrow.

Speak with Claire at the Valedale stables. She has news of a friend in need.

An Assignment for a Cow Friend

claire

Hey Rita! This is how it is… Sophie needs help to milk the cows up here. She got such a pain in her back that she had to stop before all the cows had been milked. I’m really busy today so I thought that since you already know our cows you might be able to help? Sophie is over there with all the equipment, the poor thing! Go over there and give her a hand, I’ll be sure to give you something for your trouble.

Objectives: Go to Sophie and offer to help her with the cows.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Obviously someone needs a lesson in proper lifting technique. Remember, bend your knees and lift with your legs. Your back will thank you.

Sophie is just up the road from Valedale. Go and offer your help.

sophie

A riding hero! I can’t show you how right now but I can try to explain [how milking is done].

Quest completed

______________

A New Experience

sophie

There is only one cow left to be milked, I finished with all the others before my back forced me to quit. I must have pulled a muscle or something… Anyways, very annoying, but you are worth your weight in gold for helping me…

Here, take the bucket, that is all you will need. You can do it!

Objectives: Take the bucket and milk the cow that hasn’t been milked yet.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Pick up the bucket next to Sophie. The cow that needs to be milked is the one standing behind her. You have to be dismounted to be able to milk the cow. When you are done, bring the milk to Sophie.

sophie

A full bucket of milk! I am impressed. Was it heavy to carry?

Quest completed

______________

Step Two

sophie

So, after we have milked the cows we put the milk in smaller containers. It is a little impractical to have the milk in a bucket! Would you mind riding down to Elizabeth and ask if she has any more empty bottles?

Objectives: Ask Elizabeth if she has any empty milk bottles.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Go speak to Elizabeth outside of her house in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

So nice to see you! Milk bottles? Sure, I just cleaned out a few of them I got back earlier today. We always reuse the same bottles. When they are empty we drop them off again. Good for the environment!

Quest completed

______________

Empty Bottles

elizabeth_sunbeam

There you are. Now you have some bottles to take back to Sophie. They almost look like new, don’t they?

Objectives: Deliver the cleaned milk bottles to Sophie.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

Take the bottles back up the road from Valedale, to where Sophie is.

sophie

Perfect! Those should be enough for the milk in the bucket.

Quest completed

______________

We Should Have Brought a Funnel…

sophie

I feel like an old lady right now… but my back hurts really bad. I can barely move! Please do me one more favor and pour the milk from the bucket into the bottles?

Objectives: Pick up the bucket and pour the milk into the bottles.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Both items are on the bench behind Sophie.

You have to be dismounted to do this task. Pick up the bucket first, then place it over the bottles to fill them.

Speak with Sophie when you are done.

sophie

You didn’t even spill a drop! Is there something you aren’t telling me? That you are the world champion of milk pouring? Are you just as good at milk delivery?

Quest completed

______________

Delivery to the Cheese Maker

sophie

Will up by the windmill outside Silverglade Village called and asked for more milk. He is making more cheese. You’ve picked up his cheese before? Great! Then you can deliver more milk to him?

Objectives: Deliver the milk to Will up beside the windmill outside Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Take the milk to Will on the windmill hill.

will

Ha ha! Milk just in the nick of time! Now it will get turned into cheese for you, me, and Steve!

Quest completed

______________

Delivery to the Baker

tyra

The baker in Silverglade Village has ordered some milk. You’ve met him before right? Deliver the milk to him and we’ll make sure you get plenty to drink when you get there.

Objectives: Deliver the milk to the baker in Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 40 XP

Take the milk to Harold in the main village square.

harold

Aha, you’ve taken a job delivering milk? Nah, I’m only joking. I’ve spoken with Sophie. Very nice of you to help her out like this. I needed this milk to make the world’s best ice cream! Here you go… a little extra jingle in your pockets for your help!

Quest completed

Return to Harold tomorrow.

Felicity has finished fixing the chicken wire for you. Go see her in Firgrove.

Felicity’s Chicken Net

felicity

Hello Rita! Now the chicken wire is ready! You can ride down to the chicken coop and see if it fits!

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Ride down to the chicken coop and put the wire on it. You have to be dismounted to use the chicken wire.

Speak with Andy when you are finished.

andy

Well done, Rita. The chicken coop is really nice. Now we only need some chickens…

Quest completed

______________

Catch Some Chickens

andy

I have an idea. I know there are chickens in this forest, wild chickens. They are very shy so it won’t be easy to get them here. I have prepared a bag with chicken feed. If you sprinkle some in front of the forest, maybe they will come out to us eventually.

Objectives: Ride out in the forest and spread out the chicken feed.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

The spots for you to put the chicken feed are marked in orange on your map. There are three areas to put it down.

Return to Andy when you are finished.

andy

Did you put out three small piles? That sounds good. I’m so excited to see if the chickens will come.

Quest completed

______________

Hay While Waiting for the Chickens

andy

I guess we have to wait for a while before the chickens dare to come out. We can make it more cozy in the chicken coop while we wait! I think the chickens would like some fresh hay to sleep on. Can you ride to Felicity and ask her for some hay from the stable?

Objectives: Ride to Felicity in Firgrove and ask if you may have some hay.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation 15 with Firgrove

Hey, you want some hay? Well, of course you may.

Go back to Felicity and ask her to lend you some hay.

felicity

I’m glad to hear that the net fit! Now you want some hay for the chicken coop. Of course I can fix that for you!

Quest completed

______________

Make the Chicken Coop Cozy More Cozy With Hay

felicity

You can take some hay from the bale over there. Ride down to your chicken coop and lay it on the floor so it’s fresh and smells good when the chickens come. Good luck!

Objectives: Take some hay, put it in the chicken coop and talk to Andy.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Go back to the chicken coop and put the hay inside the wire.

Speak with Andy when you are done.

andy

The hay smells so good! I wonder if the chickens have come out yet?

Quest completed

______________

Catch Chickens

andy

I thought I saw something white among the trees where you sprinkled the chicken feed. Maybe it’s some chickens! I think you will have to dismount from your horse when you pick them up so you don’t frighten them away. Do you remember where you sprinkled the food? After you catch the chickens you can let them out in the chicken coop.

Objectives: Catch all chickens where you sprinkled the chicken feed and let them out into the chicken coop. Talk to Andy when you’re done.

Rewards: 50 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

For some reason, picking up a chicken, then putting it into the chicken coop, each count as an action. There are three chickens to pick up, then putting the three chickens in the coop, that’s six actions.

Speak to Andy when you are done.

andy

Such gorgeous chickens! Grandma will be really happy now! I think the chickens will enjoy having a house of their own. It will be much nicer than in the forest with all those predators.

Quest completed

Return to Andy tomorrow.

Will has started a new race up around his windmill.

Try the Windmill Race

mr_andersson

Hello Rita! You know what? I have a sneaking suspicion that you love to compete with Summerblaze. Am I right? I knew it!

A long time ago there used to be a race trail around the windmill here. The track is still there even if it is hard to see. Do you think you can do as well as the old masters did on this track? You think you can? You certainly are confident, that’s a good thing. But this is a tough track so don’t think for a second this will be an easy victory for you.

Get ready to go and I will get your time!

Good luck!

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Ride the windmill track through, and speak with Will when you are done.

mr_andersson

Wow. That was a great ride Rita. It certainly is a joy to watch a master rider like you flow through the track.

If you want to try again just let me know. See you!

Quest completed

You can now do this race daily.

Now let’s get to the story! Go see Linda at the Winery. Alex has returned.

Alex Returns

linda

Hi there! Great news! As you can see, Alex is back!

Objectives: Talk to Alex.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will be happy to see you again.

alex

Nice to see you again, my friends. It’s been a long journey and unfortunately, it was pretty unsuccessful.

Alex Says

alex

Both Lisa and Anne have been traveling the world. Lisa toured with her rock band and have done great concerts all over the world. But people say that some time ago, when the tour was over, she returned to the Jorvik stables, picked up Starshine and rode away… Since then, no one has seen her. But we believe that she is somewhere here on Jorvik.

Objectives: Listen to Alex.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you more.

alex

Anne was a successful dressage competitor. Suddenly one day she disappeared during a competition in France. There’s not a single clue of where she went. She’s disappeared without a trace. This was almost two years ago and not a peep has been heard from her.

The next step will probably be to try and find Lisa. She’s probably the only one we have chance of finding. When we know more about where Justin could be, we’ll search for him too…

______________

Call for a Council

alex

The Druids, Keepers of Aideen, have called a council meeting. They’ve announced that they want you to attend, Rita. However, I don’t know how you can get there, because it’s a very special place. Linda and I will get there our own way but you need to talk to Elizabeth in Valedale. Shecan transfer outsiders to the Secret Stonering where the meeting will take place.

Objectives: Ride to Valedale and talk to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 65 XP

Reputation: 35 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth will be able to help you. Go see her at her house in Valedale.

elizabeth_sunbeam

It’s great that you could come. I’ll teach you how to go to the druid’s meeting without having the special attributes as a druid or Soulrider has.

Quest completed

______________

Council in the Secret Stonering

elizabeth_sunbeam

The path behind my house leads to the four rune stones. Continue past them. There, you’ll find a spiral path surrounded by other rune marked stones. Be sure to ride in a clockwise spiral along the path until the Portal opens in the middle. Ride into the portal and you’ll travel to the Secret Stonering and meet the druid Council there.

Listen to the Council, ask your questions and talk to me back here again when the meeting is finished. Keep it a secret how to travel there, please.

Objectives: Participate in the council. Travel there by following the spiral path. It’s beyond the runestones, behind and above Elizabeth’s house. Talk to Elizabeth afterwards.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 140 XP

Reputation: 300 with Keepers of Aideen

Follow Elizabeth’s instructions.

You must stay on the path, all the way to the center of the spiral. When you reach the center you will be automatically transported to the Secret Stonering. Once there, approach the Council to begin the meeting. You must ask all of the questions given to you before you are able to leave.

______________

fripp

We are the Keepers of Aideen. We greet you, newcomer. I am Fripp.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Druids and Soulriders, we are gathered here today for an extra council. Especially welcome our newcomer. This is Rita and she’s the one I told you about.

***

fripp

Well done, honorable Sunbeam.

Rita, it’s so sad that we have to meet under these circumstances when tie is short and the cold fingers of the darkness reaches for us. But we wouldn’t have summoned you if it wasn’t important.

***

faceless_druid

She’s not ready. She’s too inexperienced. As far as I know she’s not even able to talk to her horse yet, is she?

You should know that I was against this from the very beginning, I…

***

fripp

Quiet! If we could get hold of all four Soulriders we wouldn’t need to do this, but Elizabeth Sunbeam assures that Rita is of the right kind and has the best qualifications to be a legendary Soulrider. Actually, better than anyone in a long time. Tell us, Elizabeth.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Thank you, Fripp. I’ve told you that she passed the “test.” You know, the first test where you can see which of the four powers you belong to by activating your power’s runestone. To keep the secret, I’ve only told Fripp about what really happened, until now…

***

faceless_druid

Get to the point, druid. I’m not convinced yet.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

She activated all four runestones.

***

faceless_druid

:O

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Rita possesses all four powers. As you all know, it’s been more than a hundred years since this happened the last time. This innocent little girl has the potential to be the strongest Soulrider of them a in modern times! Maybe the strongest ever… But enough about that. She needs training and experience but we don’t have the luxury of time now.

***

faceless_druid

But she doesn’t have any training.

***

alex

Mmm… We didn’t have any training when it started for us…

***

fripp

True, true. We’re done with this now, and I assume that no one questions her participation here any more? … Good… We have much more important things to talk about so we have to do the best we can and have time for regarding training of Rita when the opportunity arises.

Let’s summarize the situation. We know that Jorvik once more is being threatened by the great Darkness, the one called “Garnok.” We tell be the illegal and dark magic which has started haunting the neighborhood in a lot of different ways. Even our perceptive Rita has noticed this.

That’s why it’s time to perform the Light ceremony so we can stop Garnok for now, but it’s not that easy…

Alex and Linda are two of the four Soulriders we can get hold of. Lisa and Anne have disappeared. Rita can probably replace one of them but we have to continue our search for Lisa or Anne because we need four Soulriders for the ceremony and that’s how it was even before the Lost Book of Ceremonies disappeared…

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Well summarized master Fripp. So far Garnok is not that strong, but we’ve noticed that there seems to be a lot of strange characters out there who are interested in what we do and they’re curious about the dangerous side effects that will appear when Garnok gets stronger. We also have to focus on finding and identifying our enemies before they grow too strong…

***

faceless_druid

Well, the time has come. We’ll spread the word to all druids in Jorvik. We’ll tell them that it’s time for the ceremony again. The primary goal for all of us is to find at least one of the disappeared Soulriders. Let’s call a meeting again soon, when we have more information to share.

***

fripp

Thank you all for coming on such short notice and thank you Rita. I hope you’ll accept a membership when the time is right. Please stay and ask some questions, if you want. We’ll answer the as best we can.

***

What are the Keepers of Aideen?

fripp

We’re a group of druids who’ve been on this island since the dawn of time. We acted more in secrecy in the past, but today a lot of people know about our existence, even though our real purpose is a well kept secret. For now, I can’t tell you the innermost secret about our real purpose but without hiding anything I can tell you that our main task is to protect Jorvik from Garnok – the dark force – so it won’t grow stronger and take over the world.

***

What Can a Keeper of Aideen Do?

faceless_druid

We do what we always have done, since the dawn of time. Every time we notice that Garnok is gaining more power we gather the four Soulriders through a ceremony described in the Lost Book of Ceremonies. That ceremony can prevent Garnok from spreading out and we can push it back, at least for a while. We can never permanently stop Garnok, but so far we’ve managed to stop it from poisoning our world with its malevolence. Garnok is unpredictable and can be active anything between once a year to slumbering for decades. During the thousands of years we have existed we have not failed yet…

***

What’s a Soulrider?

elizabeth_sunbeam

There is always at least four Soulriders. It’s always a special girl who like you has a unique bond to her horse. A horse whose soul is one with the island of Jorvik’s essence… Soulriders are rare nowadays and we have problems finding new ones. We hope that one day, you will become a Soulrider and help us in the struggle against Garnok and others who work against us…

***

What Do We Know About Lisa and Anne?

alex

I can tell you all I know about Lisa. After her success in the Star Academy school on Jorvik I was told that Lisa went on a tour with her rock band for a couple of years. It wasn’t easy contacting her during this time. I’ve traveled and searched for her without any luck The tour is now over and people say that she’s on vacation. But Herman in the Jorvik Stable had news. He says that she’s been in the stable and taken her horse, Starshine, out for a ride. This was a couple of weeks ago and after that, it seems she disappeared without a trace. But we think she is still somewhere on Jorvik.

Linda, can you tell us what we know about Anne?

***

linda

I have made inquiries about Anne but always come to dead-ends. Anne was a very successful dressage competitor and traveled around to compete and to show her skills. One day, about two years ago, during a competition in France, the speaker called her name but she didn’t show up. The audience was disappointed and wondered what could’ve happened. No one’s seen her since that day. There is no trace of Anne or her horse, Concorde.

Unfortunately, that’s all I know.

***

What’s This Place?

fripp

The Secret Stonering is a place like no other. Time and space work in different ways in here, compared to the rest of the world. We, the Keepers of Aideen, have the ability to travel here from different places on Jorvik when we hold council meetings. You can always return to this place and due to its special nature you can eet us here again – not yet then. I hope you understand.

***

Who Are Against the Druids?

fripp

Dark Core, controlled by Mr Sands, is one of our most dangerous enemies. Thank goodness you realized that Mr Sands is active on this island again so we can be ready to act when they show themselves. Dark Core claims to be a multinational company with the same interests as G.E.D. But we think that Mr Sands is looking for a way to control Garnok and use that powerful force to take over the world. We don’t think that’s possible and the ony thing he’ll be able to do is to destroy our world when he tries.

We have more people who want to stop us, or have their own agendas regarding Garnok. So be careful out there! We have to identify what they want and what they’re doing. There are more stakeholders involved than ever before and Garnok isn’t even that strong yet…

***

What Does Justin Have to Do With This?

elizabeth_sunbeam

As you proved, Justin is unfortunately Mr Sands’ grandson. It’s clear that Mr Sands has a purpose for him and that he has something big going on since he doesn’t dare show his ugly face here again. We should invest some time and energy to find the poor boy. Not only to save him from Mr Sands, but also to be able to stop Mr Sands’ plans and maybe get some information about what exactly they are from Justin.

***

What is the Book of Ceremonies?

fripp

Funny that you ask that. The book is used at the ceremony to prevent Garnok from growing in strength and to temporarily chase him away. Unfortunately the book has been lost for a couple hundred years and that’s why we call it the – Lost – Book of Ceremonies. Though, we’ve been careful and made a copy of some of the most important chapters and the four parts of that copy is spread out between us druids. One day we hope to find the book because it will make the ceremony more powerful and it contains secrets written by ancient druids which we have forgotten or don’t know the meaning of today.

The last time we acted against Garnok, circumstances made our Soulriders do it in a different way…

***

alex

Right… That’s a mild way of putting it on.

***

What Do We Do Now?

fripp

You can return here whenever you want to ask us questions again. When time has come we will give you some tasks. You have to be patient and wait until we have the right task, right training and a teacher for you. We think of time differently and in your world you may think that time is slow. For us it is a bit… different. So we ask you to be patient.

***

elizabeth_sunbeam

Besides learning how to be a Soulrider – if you will accept our offer to be that – we hope you want to keep looking for Justin, Lisa, and Anne. You also have to look for and try to identify which new enemies we have out there. As soon as we have a suitable task for you, we’ll let you know, Rita. We need you!

***

Thanks, I Don’t Have Any More Questions for Now.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Ok, Rita. You know that you can return to this place they same way I showed you, if you have any more questions. See you in Valedale. Talk to me when we meet there.

***

fripp

Return and wait! We will contact you soon. See you Rita, thanks for coming here!

Follow Up

elizabeth_sunbeam

Now you know more about how things work. If you need to, you can return in time and space to this meeting and ask us questions again. You can always use the secret path, which will take you to the Stonering. But keep it a secret, ok?

Objectives: Talk to Elizabeth.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 35 XP

Reputation: 60 with Keepers of Aideen

Speak with Elizabeth more about the meeting.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Good, Rita. Your adventure will soon continue and I’ll also try to teach you how to use your powers so you too can be a Soulrider. Good luck, we will contact you again!

Quest completed

Alex needs your help now. Go see her at the Winery.

There’s quite a bit of continuity errors in these next quests, but for the time being, let’s just go with it. Silly game writers, you can’t keep your facts straight! 😉

My Dear Little Pony

alex

Rita, I’m only borrowing this old horse because my horse, Tin-Can, has been put at the Jorvik Stable for the winter. The bridge in southern Silverglade is broken, so unfortunately I haven’t been able to go and get Tin-Can yet. Herman, the guy who owns the barn, is going to ship over Tin-Can! Can you help me pick Tin-Can up?

Objectives: Chat with Alex.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Alex will tell you her plan for getting Tin-Can back.

alex

Thank you, it is really kind of you to help me! I need to ride back and return this old horse now. Ride over and meet Herman where he is arriving with the boat so he doesn’t have to wait for me… I’m sure he is already there. I’m sure you and my horse Tin-Can will get along great… even if he is a little bit… special.

Quest completed

______________

Pony-Pickup is Underway

alex

I’ll ride back to drop off this old horse while you pick up my horse Tin-Can. Meet Herman and lead Tin-Can back with you to where I will be waiting at the Winery. Herman is landing with Tin-Can somewhere near Southern Irongate Beach. Do you know where that is? It is right beside the Baroness’ Riding Arena.

Objectives: Meet Herman who is coming with Alex’s horse Tin-Can on the beach past the Riding Arena, beside Southern Irongate.

Rewards: 60 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

You’ll see the ship moored in the water behind the Riding Arena. Head towards it. Herman and Tin-Can will be standing on the beach.

herman

Ahoy there! I’m Herman, the owner of the Jorvik Stall. I’m guessing you are Rita? You are here to pick up Tin-Can for Alex, right?

Quest completed

______________

Herman Here!

herman

Ahoy there young lady! It isn’t too often I go out on a boat, but Captain Brus nicely offered to ship Tin-Can here for us. You know the bridge to Southern Jorvik broke during the winter? Shipping the horse was the only solution for now. Of course Alex shouldn’t have to be without her horse!

Objectives: Listen to what Herman has to say.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Herman will tell you more about himself.

herman

Let me tell you a little about myself Rita. I am the director of the legendary Jorvik Riding Center in Southern Jorvik. I have helped Lisa, Anne, Alex, and Linda in their earlier adventures here on Jorvik. Understand that I am not a member of the Keepers of Aideen but I’ll always be on their side and help them in any way I can against anything that might threaten Jorvik.

Quest completed

______________

And This is Tin-Can

herman

I guarantee we will meet again sometime soon Rita. When the bridge in Nilmer’s Highlands is fixed, or when the ferry boat is running again I’m sure we’ll see you at the Jorvik Riding Center. Any friends of the druids is a friend of mine. Here is Tin-Can… he can certainly introduce himself!

Objectives: Speak with Tin-Can the horse. It is possible if you try…

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

Is this what Alex meant by ‘special’??

tin-can

Ho ho! That’s right. I am Tin-Can, Alex’s faithful companion. And of course you are Rita and you will take me to Alex?

Quest completed

______________

Take Me to Alex

tin-can

Strange that I can speak? Ha ha ha! Some people think so. I’ll tell you what is strange isn’t that I can talk but that you hear me. It isn’t everyone who can speak with a horse, you know. Thanks to your work with the druids some new and unexplained powers have begun to awake…

So, my friend. Show me the way to Alex! I don’t have any shoes right now so please don’t ride too fast… I have sore hooves.

Objectives: Escort Tin-Can to Alex. But don’t ride too fast.. Tin-Can doesn’t have any horseshoes and has sore hooves.

Rewards: 85 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Reputation: 50 with Keepers of Aideen

Here’s one of those funny discrepancies. Tin-Can says he doesn’t have shoes, but when he lifts his feet you can clearly see he does in fact have them.

But anyway!

Ride with Tin-Can back to the Winery.

alex

Tin-Can! Tin-Can! My old true friend! Finally we get to be together again! I’ll never leave you ever again!

Quest completed

______________

Catch Up With Elizabeth

alex

Oh, it is so wonderful to have Tin-Can back again! But it isn’t right that he doesn’t have horseshoes. There is only one kind of horseshoe that works for Tin-Can. Elizabeth in Valedale has them. If you ride over to Elizabeth and tell her whatwe need and bring them back then I’ll give you a pair of brand new white riding pants. Sound like a good deal?

Objectives Pick up the right horseshoes for Tin-Can. Elizabeth in Valedale has them.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to Valedale to get the horseshoes from Elizabeth.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Oh, Tin-Can is back in Silverglade together with Alex again? That is great to hear! The gang is getting back together again… even if it isn’t happening very quickly. Thank you for helping us so much Rita. Now let’s see… where did I put that box with those antique horseshoes?

Quest completed

______________

Perfect Shoes for Tin-Can

elizabeth_sunbeam

There they are! I thought I had misplaced them. I might have taken a whole day to find them… but lucky for us not this time. Take this package of antique druid horseshoes to Alex. These should be good enough… even for an amazing horse like Tin-Can.

Objectives: Deliver the horseshoes to Alex and Tin-Can.

Rewards: 85 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP, White Riding Pants

Reputation: 25 with Keepers of Aideen

Ride back to the Winery with the horseshoes.

alex

Look at that! These are perfect! These are for you Tin-Can… these are the right ones for you. Thank you Rita. Here are the white riding pants I promised you. I bought them just for you my friend. I hope you like them!

Stolen Money?

tan

Do you think someone may have taken my money? Who would do such a thing? I have to check if anyone has seen something suspicious. Rita, you’ve already helped me a lot, but it would be really kind if you could help me find out who the thief is.

Maybe you can ask if Barney at the silo has seen anything? Barney hears a lot of what happens around here and has many contacts. Not what you’d expect from him, but it’s a fact. Yeah, I’m talking about the Barney who hangs out at the silo east of Steve’s farm.

Objectives: Ask Barney at the silo, east of Steve’s farm, if he has seen or heard anything about a thief in this neighborhood.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

Things have gone real bad here in the ‘hood since you left.

Go and speak with Barney about the issue.

barney

Hello there! What are you talking about? Very unpleasant. I haven’t seen any thieves at least.

Quest completed

______________

Scouting From the Hill

barney

No, we don’t have any thieves here that I know of, but talk to Will, he has a good view from his mill on the hill!

Objectives: Talk to Will at the mill on the hill outside Silverglade Village and see if he’s seen anything suspicious.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

So maybe Will has seen something? Let’s go ask!

will

If I’ve seen anything strange? A thief? No, no thieves in sight. Only a beautiful landscape.

Quest completed

______________

Farther Into the Woods

will

I can see a lot from the top of my hill but I can’t see all the way to Valedale. My advice is to ride to Valedale and check if they’ve heard something. You know, the druids can see and hear things that on one else can… Talk to the druid Elizabeth.

Objectives: Ride to Elizabeth in Valedale Village and ask if she’s seen anything strange.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

So maybe Elizabeth knows? You never can tell with those druids…

elizabeth_sunbeam

Hello my friend! Nice to see you. I’m also waiting for news about Alex, but I haven’t heard anything yet. What? A thief? No, I haven’t noticed anything unusual. Poor Tan who lost her money.

Quest completed

______________

Deeper Into the Woods

elizabeth_sunbeam

We druids have a lot of abilities, but we don’t master all kinds of magic, as many of the uninitiated, like Will seem to think. So there’s no way I can help you find out what happened to Tan’s money.

Valedale feels peaceful as usual but ask Sonja, who you met earlier. She knows Hollow Woods better than anyone here. You’ll find her in the neighborhood. She likes to ride around in the middle of Hollow Woods, close to the main road. Search southwest of the old abandoned summerhouse.

Objectives: Find Sonja in Hollow Woods. She likes to ride around in the middle of  the forest, close to the road which goes through it. Search southwest of the old abandoned summerhouse.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Sonja may need some chasing to be able to talk to her. She rides in counter-clockwise circles around the hill, across the road from the abandoned summer house. If you stand on the road, eventually she’ll come into view.

Speak to her about the theft.

sonja

Rita! Nice seeing you again! Money you say? I haven’t seen anything strange but I found some coins on the ground over there.

Quest completed

______________

Coins on the Ground

sonja

Where I found the coins? Below the bird’s nest over there, a stone’s throw away to the north, close to the runestone.

Objectives: Ride to the nest with the red bird, not so far away to the north where Sonja rides around. Close to a runestone.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

If you continue up the road towards Valedale, the runestone can be seen from the road. Go towards it, and Birdie is around on the other side, perched on a large rock.

birdie

Tweet, tweeeet, tweet, tweeeet!

Quest completed

______________

Twetweet!

birdie

Tweeeet, tweet, tweet?!

Objectives: You decide to tak to Sonja and tell her what you have discovered…

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

This bird seems distressed. Maybe Sonja knows what’s the matter.

sonja

You must be kidding?! You say that the birds have lined their nest with Tan’s money? Is it true? The birds must like shiny things!

Quest completed

______________

Bird Thief

sonja

You have to ride to Tan and tell her! Here, take these coins, they must belong to her. See you Rita! Say hello to Tan from me.

Objectives: Ride and tell Tan what you have found out.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Return to Moorland and tell Tan the news.

tan

I can’t believe my ears! I thought that a nasty thief had done this. But we can’t take away the coins from the birds, that would be mean. The birds can’t know they shouldn’t take my money, they didn’t do it on purpose because birds can’t know that money has a value.

Quest completed

______________

Something That Shines

tan

I have an idea! We can swap the money with something else that shines. Maybe Mrs Holdsworth has something we can use?

Objectives: As Mrs Holdsworth, who lives in the red house outside the Moorland Stable, if she has something shiny to give away.

Rewards: 70 Jorvik Shillings, 50 XP

Of course, Mrs Holdsworth always has something of use!

Go speak with her at her house behind the stables.

mrs_holdsworth

Haha! What a lovely story. Of course I’ll help you. Let me look through my things.

Quest completed

______________

A Necklace With Glass Beads, A Bird’s Dream!

mrs_holdsworth

Take this necklace with glass beads. I think the bird will like it much better! Good luck with the trading Rita.

Objectives: Trade the necklace for the money from the little bird in Hollow Woods.

Rewards: 70 Jorvik Shillings, 70 XP

Shouldn’t we be more concerned that the beads pose a choking hazard??

Ride back to Birdie in Hollow Woods and show him the necklace you have for him.

birdie

Tweet, tweeet, tweet, tweeet!

Quest completed

______________

Trading Done

birdie

Tweet, tweeet, tweet, tweet-tweet!

Objectives: Trade the necklace for the money and ride back to Tan with the money.

Rewards: 150 Jorvik Shillings, 90 XP, Tan’s Good Old Riding Shoes

Stand under the nest, in the tree behind Birdie, and trade the necklace out with the money. Return to Moorland and speak with Tan when you have done so.

tan

Rita, you’re a hero! Haha, I would never think that the birds wanted to decorate their nest. I’ll never forget this. Thank you!

Quest completed

You’re welcome!

Now let’s go see what the Vet has found with the oil sample from the duck feathers. Go see her in Silverglade Village.

Ongoing Analysis

vet

I’m basically ready… It was very difficult to get good sample material from the feather, there wasn’t a large amount of oil on it. But I managed to get a sample that can be compared with previous samples from Mr Kembell’s oilfield. Take these samples and ride up to Carney at the vineyard and ask if you can borrow the comparison machine again.

Objectives: Ride to Carney at the vineyard stables and ask if you can borrow his comparison machine.

Rewards: 12 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

I’m sure Carney will let you use it. Just be glad you’re not one of his brothers asking…

carney

Hello Rita, how are you today?

Quest completed

______________

One More Comparison of Samples

carney

So, you want to borrow my comparison machine again. It should work. Oddly enough, I don’t use it as much as I thought I would when I bought it at J-Bay, so it’s just as well that it will do some good. Just take your samples and use the machine. It’s on the table next to us.

Objectives: Use the oil samples in Carney’s comparison machine, which stands on the table at the vineyard stables.

Rewards: 16 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Use the comparison machine on the picnic table behind you. Speak to Carney when you are done.

carney

Did it work? Yes, look. The result is clear. It’s the same oil in both samples you tested.

Quest completed

Now that we know who polluted the ducks, go speak to the Vet about cleaning them up.

Quest completed

______________

Someone Will Have to Pay For This

felix

The ducks are rescued, but Mr Kembell makes me so angry! It’s so irresponsible to pollute the beautiful Everwind Fields with oil. It destroys the environment and more birds could be harmed.

We have to stop him once and for all! Can you talk to the Magistrate here in the village and help me establish a case against Mr Kembell for damaging nature, cruelty to animals and breaking the environmental laws, and bring that walking disaster to justice?!

Objectives: Talk to the Magistrate in Silverglade Village about filing a report against Mr Kembell.

Rewards: 35 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Magistrate, aka Council Man.

council_man

Hello little one! Oh? File a report about damage and environmental crime? We can do that but it’ll take some time. We’re talking a week or more. A lot of paperwork, you know. It takes a long time to flip papers and write the right things so everything is legal.

Quest completed

______________

Waiting for the Long Arm of the Law

council_man

We’re building a case against Mr Kembell. No one wants him and his ruthless corporation here in Jorvik. We’re also waiting for our dear Commissioner Klas to come back to the village after winter break. Both cops and robbers usually stay calm during the cold winter months here in Silverglade.

Objectives: Talk to the Magistrate.

Rewards: 55 Jorvik Shillings, 55 XP

See what more the Council Man has to say.

council_man

How long does it take? As I said before, it’ll take weeks before the case against Mr Kembell is ready, but then we can go full force and get him out of here, I hope. Thank you for your report! Good luck now and thanks for saving the ducks. You are a hero, Rita! We could use more of your kind her in the village in times like these.

Quest completed

Felix has something new to tell you about, go speak to him.

Waiting for a Train

felix

The lemmings here on Jorvik are very special. Every year, the same time, they march from the other side of the mountains, come here and then they go home again. No one knows why they are doing this but I think it’s some kind of pilgrimage. I heard from Mario up on the Observatory that he had seen some lemmings who seemed lost. Maybe you can ride up to him? To look at the lemmings and maybe help them on the right track.

I forgot to note the objectives and rewards on this one, sorry!

Some pilgrims are lost on their way to lemming-Mecca. Better help them out!

Ride up the observatory. You can ride your newly built gondola lift to get up there quickly.

mario

Hi! Have you talked to Felix? Yes, what he says is true. I have seen the yearly lemming march and I have to tell you it’s not a march any more. The little creatures seem to have lost each other.

Quest completed

______________

The March Has Gone Astray

mario

I saw some lemmings when I was taking my morning walk but I have such a horrible lemming allergy so I can’t go near them. I have spent the whole morning looking at them in my telescope and I am so worried about them. You are not allergic? Can’t you look below the Observatory, pick up all lemmings you find and put them in your backpack?

Objectives: Look for lemmings below the Observatory.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The lemmings can be found mostly under the bridge to the Observatory. They are marked in orange on your map.

Return to Mario when you have found them all.

mario

Oh no, I can feel in my nose that you have found all the lemmings! So good that they like small spaces so that they are comfortable in your backpack. I hope you won’t get too much lemming hair on your things…

Quest completed

______________

Get the Lemmings to Their Correct Destination

mario

The lemmings’ last stop on the march used to be in Valedale. I suggest that you ride there with them and maybe do it right now before I sneeze so hard that you fall off your horse!

Objectives: Ride to Valedale with the lemmings.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

I’m not so concerned about falling off my horse. I’m more concerned about you falling off that cliff!

Take the lemmings down toward Valedale. Sophie will know what to do with them.

sophie

Lemmings! I have waited the whole day for them. Why do you have them in your backpack?

Quest completed

______________

The March is Delayed

sophie

Are they confused? The poor little things. Maybe you can herd them up the hill towards the snow, they usually go to their homes that way.

Objectives: Follow the lemmings up the hill towards the snow.

Rewards: 120 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

The lemmings are in a line on the ground, and will start their march as soon as you accept the quest. Follow them all the way up the mountain trail, to the snow at the top.

Return to Sophie when they have made it safely.

sophie

Did it wok? Are they on the right track now? So good that you could help them, no one knows how long we had been standing here, waiting for the. I hope they will be on the right track next year.

Quest completed

With that done, let’s go see Minka in Firgrove. She has a new racing track for you to try out.

Firgrove’s Hard Forest Track

minka

Hello Rita! I have finally finished the renovation of Firgrove’s old, difficult and dangerous forest track. It’s a bit hard, or super tough to be honest… I don’t know if I’m brave enough to try it myself, but you are so talented so maybe you want to try it? Please, Rita, can you test it before I open it for the public?

Objectives: Finish the track in the best possible time.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

Ride the hard forest track, then speak with Minka when you are done.

minka

Did it work? It’s not impossibly hard? You did great I think! Even if it’s difficult I think it’s good. Experienced riders like you need a challenge! I hereby declare Firgrove’s old forest track opened!

Quest completed

You can now ride the forest track (and the track in reverse) as a daily race.

Mrs Packard has something she would like you to help with. Go see her by her house in Firgrove.

Chicken Wishes

mrs_packard

Me and my grandson Andy have decided that we want a chicken coop. It would be so nice to have some chickens and fresh eggs around here. I am old and frail and Andy already has too much to do taking care of the sheep. Would you mind helping us build a chicken coop? I would be so thankful!

Objectives: Talk to Mrs Packard.

Rewards: 30 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

See what Mrs Packard has to say about this new idea of hers.

mrs_packard

I’m sure Andy will help you, ride down and talk to him. He is watching the sheep next to Firgrove’s sandpit.

Quest completed

Go talk to Andy down by the sandpit.

Building Boss

andy

Howdy Rita! Have you talked to my grandma? We have talked for a long time about buying some chickens and a chicken coop, but nothing has happened because my grandma s so old and I have too much to do. But if you want to help I can guide you through the whole building procedure. Grandma will be so happy.

Objectives: Talk to Andy.

Rewards: 40 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Andy will tell you his plans for the chicken coop.

andy

There is a lot to do but if we take one thing at a time we’ll do just fine. I wonder where we should build the chicken coop…

Quest completed

______________

A Perfect Place

andy

I am not sure where we should put it, but it should be somewhere not too far away. I want to be able to watch over my and grandma’s chickens. Would you mind riding around this pen to see if you can find a place that looks good?

Objectives: Ride around the sheep pen and find a good place to build a chicken coop. Return to Andy when you have found it.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

There are two places to check. One is behind where Andy is standing. The other is on the other side of where the race track comes down towards the sheep pen.

Speak with Andy when you have found the good place.

andy

Cool! That’s terrific. Now we can build the chicken coop! I have already prepared a drawing, hehe. I like things to be well organized.

Quest completed

______________

Wood for Construction

andy

I happen to know that there are some planks around the old mine down there. I think they are left over from when they built the mine many years ago. Ride down and look, I don’t think anyone will miss the planks. It’s good that someone will get some use out of them.

Objectives: Ride down to the Silverglade Mine and gather planks for the chicken coop.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

You will see the mine in the distance if you face where you will build the chicken coop, with your back to Andy. The planks are scattered close to the mine buildings. Pick them up and return to Andy when you are done.

andy

Great! This should be enough. The planks look good. They are even still a nice red color! Grandma said that she wanted her chicken coop to be red so this will be perfect.

Quest completed

______________

Build a Chicken Coop

andy

So! Shall we start with the construction? Here is a hammer and some nails. I have left the planks you found where we will build the chicken coop. Do you remember my drawing? A red house with a nice frame around it.

Objectives: Use the hammer you got from Andy on the planks he has placed where the chicken coop shall be.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The planks are on the ground where the chicken coop shall be built. You have to dismount your horse to be able to use the hammer. When you are done building, return to Andy.

andy

Wow, so great! And such a good drawing I made! You are a real handyman. But something is missing…

Quest completed

______________

Chicken Wire

andy

Oh, I got it! We need chicken wire! Otherwise the chickens will run out into the woods. Imagine if they could run up on the racing track? That could only end in disaster. Felicity in the stable in Firgrove Village has fencing for the sheep pen. Maybe she has some we can use for the chicken coop too?

Objectives: Ride to Felicity and ask if she has some chicken wire.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Ride up to Firgrove and ask Felicity for some wire.

felicity

Hiya! So fun seeing you again! Is the sheep pen broken already?? Oh, you are building a chicken coop! Of course I can give you some chicken wire. I have some old chicken wire, but I need to repair it first.

Quest completed

Return to Felicity tomorrow.

Landon, in the field behind the mill, has something you tell you. Go see him about starting a new race.

Rather One Rabbit in the Hand Than Ten in the Forest

landon

Hello! The rabbits on this field are very playful. They chase each other all day and love when someone on a horse tries to catch them. Have you tried? No? Then it’s time you try it.

Try to catch six rabbits as fast as you can! You finish the competition when you return to me.

Objectives: Catch six rabbits as fast as you can. Finish the competition next to Landon.

Rewards: 20 Jorvik Shillings, 60 XP

This is honestly my least favorite race in the whole game. It is difficult. There’s no way around it.

The easiest way I have found to complete it is to use the arrow keys to control my horse, with one hand, and use the computer mouse to click on the rabbits, with the other hand.

When you have caught six rabbits, run to Landon as fast as you can to finish the race.

Good luck.

landon

He he! It was really fun! Wasn’t it? The rabbits seem to really enjoy it.

Quest completed

There is a new curious persona, landed in a hot air balloon on Everwind Fields, and he needs your assistance.

The Famous Adventurer

nic_stoneground

Hunger and weariness won’t stop me! Why, hello there! I’m famous adventurer and explorer Nic Stoneground, I’m sure you’ve heard of me! You know what, I have something fantastic going on. Objectives: Talk to Nic.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

See what Nic needs help with.

nic_stoneground

Quest completed

______________

With Hot Air Balloon to the Hidden Valley

nic_stoneground

My expedition will be legendary! By helping me undo the moorings, you’ll be part of my unlimited success, and we’ll be world famous! But first, we just have to lift off. There are four moorings around the balloon, and then it’s off to new heights!

Objectives: Tie up four moorings at the balloon. Talk to Nic again when you are finished.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

There is one mooring located at each corner of the basket, that needs to be untied.

nic_stoneground

Clear! Off we go! Airships, balloons, and zeppelins, that’s good stuff. Now it’s time! See you my friend! I’m going to The Hidden Dinosaur Valley! Who knows, maybe we’ll meet again soon!

The money has to be there! Could you be the nicest person ever and ride there and look? I think you’ll have to search all around the lighthouse.

tan

What?! Not there? But that’s the last place I can remember. What if… What if they were stolen?

Quest completed

Return to Tan tomorrow.

Let’s go check on Mrs Holdsworth and how she’s doing after her buggy predicament.

Have the Bees Moved?

mrs_holdsworth

Dear Rita! It worked They are buzzing a lot over there and my garden is free from bees. But I’m a bit worried that they will move back into their old home so I think it’s best to destroy it. Can’t you, who are sitting on a horse, examine the old nest and see to that no bees are still in there? That would be so sad!

The beehive is on the top edging of the porch on Mrs Holdsworth’s house. Check on it and speak with her again when you are done.

Quest completed

______________

To Stay Calm

Rewards: 120 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP, A Bee Top

mrs_holdsworth

There’s trouble up in Silverglade Village. Go see Felix about it.

Something Missing

felix

Quest completed

______________

Ducks on the Run, Has Will Seen Anything?

felix

Every spring around this time, the fountain ducks come to stay all summer and swim in the cool fountain. They haven’t returned from their winter migration so I have a feeling that something has happened to them.

Being up on such a high hill gives one quite a vantage point.

will

Hi there. What’s that? The ducks haven’t returned from their winter migration? That’s not good. All villagers like to look at the ducks during the summer as they bathe and swim in the fountain. It would be a shame if they disappeared.

Quest completed

______________

Examine the Stopover

will

I haven’t seen the ducks yet this year, but what I’ve seen in previous years is that they land one last time on Everwind Fields and rest before they head into the village and receive the people’s cheers.

Return to Will when you have found a clue.

will

Oh… Yes, this is a duck feather, that’s correct. But it’s oily. This is not good at all. The ducks must have gotten into trouble.

Quest completed

______________

Conclusive Evidence

felix

So you think the oily feather means that the disappearance of the ducks may have something to do with that slick Mr Kembell’s oilfield? Hm… The vet has analyzed the oil before? Ok, bring the feather to the vet so she can see if it is Mr Kembell’s oil.

Objectives: Visit the vet in Silverglade Village and let her examine the oily feather.

vet

Oh no, poor little ducks! They’re covered in oil. You’re a hero for saving them Rita!

Quest completed

______________

A Special Soap to Remove Oil

vet

A special soap is required to clean the ducks properly. Their feathers can be destroyed otherwise. I’ve run out of the soap and it takes too long to order it. Can you ride to Firgrove and ask to buy a soap from Felicity? She’s the one who makes them. Felicity is at Firgrove stables, she runs the place.

Objectives: Buy soap from Felicity.

Let’s go check on Thomas after his scare with the stolen documents yesterday.

Bringing the Copies to the Town Hall

thomas_moorland

I need you to make a visit to the town hall for me, ok? These copies of the deed should be there if something is to happen to the original. There will never be any doubt that I own this land again!

So listen up and I’ll tell you how to get there. Follow the Old Silverglade Road to the north, past the construction site. Don’t be afraid of the bulldozers, they won’t harm you. When you reach Firgrove Road, it’s time to take a left. There you’ll have the village. You should spend some time over there in order to get familiar with it.

Here are the documents. Hold on tight to them!

Objectives: Take the copies of Thomas’ deed to the town hall in Silverglade Village. In order to get there, take the Old Silverglade Road up north.

Rewards: 45 Jorvik Shillings, 100 XP

I take the road past Nilmer’s Highland, myself, as I think that’s faster, but it’s up to you.

You’ll find the Council Man around next to the Town Hall.

council_man

And what have we here, young lady? Ownership documents from Mr Moorland, I see, I’ll file these in a safe spot.

Quest completed

Welcome to Silverglade Village! The quests for today will get you acquainted with the residents of the area. The first to meet is Felix. He has the cute little wagon down the stairs behind Town Hall.

Flowers for the Shop

felix

You know what? I’ve been thinking that my shop might use a little cheering up – especially in the back room. Do you think that you could pick some of those beautiful spring flowers that grow just outside the village? Five would be just enough, I think.

Objectives: Find five spring flowers and deliver them to Felix at the Rockville Shop.

Rewards: 60 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Apparently Silverglade is not one of those places where picking some of the local flora is illegal…

The flowers aren’t hard too find. They’re everywhere. Choose five, any five, and collect them, then return to Felix.

felix

Great, great, great! I love it! I will put them in a vase and have them in my back room to cheer me up!

Quest completed

The next character to meet is Steve, also one of my favorite characters in the game.

When the Cat is Gone

felix

Steve asked me to lend him my mouse traps. Since his cat has disappeared, he and his horses have some kind of problem with mice… I don’t have time to bring them myself, so can you do it for me? Please?

Here are the mouse traps. Steve lives at the farm just outside Silverglade Village, to the southeast.

Objectives: Take these mouse traps to Steve at the farm just outside of Silverglade Village.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Follow the orange highlight to Steve’s farm.

steve

Wow, great! There are my mouse traps. Thanks, my friend. By the way, did you hear that my cat ran away? If you see him around, bring him to me. There is a reward in it for you if you find him.

Quest completed

______________

The Cat Substitute

steve

Ok mate, I got the mouse traps, but as you can see I’m very busy and can’t put them out by myself right now. Maybe you could help me? Please? Before the mice eat up my farm house.

Take these and put them out on different spots.

Objectives: Set the traps around Steve’s farm.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Place the traps on the orange highlights and return to Steve when you’re finished.

steve

Nicely done, mate! Don’t understand where the mice are coming from. On the nights I can hear strange sounds from the underground… I wonder if G.E.D. is drilling out the island of Jorvik from the inside?

Now we just need something to use as bait.

Quest completed

______________

Cheese Chase

steve

Hmm… My mate at the mill, Will the millman, has plenty of cheese in his storage. maybe you can ask him for some old cheese that we can use as bait? He lives just at the windmill to the north of here, you can’t miss it.

Objectives: Go to Will the mill man and ask for some old cheese for Steve.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Yeah, the windmill, you can’t miss it. You just can’t.

Will is standing off the road, near the windmill.

will

Ha ha ha, Steve has problems with mice at his farm? I see. Well, I don’t want to hurt the small cute animals. Let me think about what we can do to solve this… Give me a sec and talk to me again in a while.

Quest completed

______________

A Stinky Plan

will

Here I have some… cheese! My smelliest cheese ever! This will do the trick but Steve will never understand why. You see, the cheese stinks so much that the mice will flee the farm. This way we can both make Steve and the mice happy. Good solution, eh? So, here you are, I’ll let you take this to the farm.

Hey, if you ever need cheese again – feel free to come here, even if I happen to be somewhere else. My cheese is your cheese.

Objectives: Go back to Steve with the stinky cheese.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Mmm, cheese….

steve

Whoa, what is that horrible smell? Oh, I see, it’s the cheese that stinks… Well, great… I suppose.

Quest completed

Because for a second there I was gonna blame the horse…

/Obligatory fart joke

Happy Steve, Happy House, Happy Mice

steve

Then you just have to do one final thing for me. Can you please place this… very smelly cheese as bait in the traps? Good. That will solve the problem for me until my cat is back. Hurry up and save my farm house!

Objectives: Place the smelly cheese in every mouse trap so the mice won’t go near them or the farm. The mice are saved, and Steve’s problem is solved.

Rewards: 100 Jorvik Shillings, 135 XP, Basic Training Jacket

Return to Steve when you’ve loaded all the traps with the cheese.

steve

Well done! I hope this will end the mouse invasion and save the farm house. I still wonder what’s going on underground at nights, that may be the reason for the mouse invasion, but I can’t investigate that now…

Ask for Grain

steve

You’re lucky you weren’t here this winter, that much I’ll tell you. Never seen such a winter. I thought I had magically flown to Siberia, it was that cold! I felt sorry for the birds during that never-ending cold. How were they supposed to find food? and now these mice seem to have eaten what grain I had left in the storage. What am I supposed to feed them now?

If there’s someone who has his grain supplies filled, it’s Barney over at the silo. Would you be a star and go over there and ask for some?

Objectives: Go to the silo and ask Barney for some grain. The silo is just east of Steve’s farm.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Living in Wisconsin during the winters, I often think that myself.

Take the road to the east out to Barney’s silo.

barney

Grain for the birds? They had a rough winter, eh? We all did, didn’t we. I said to the wife that… that if I didn’t know better, I’d say that some gruesome, dark power reigned over the island that winter. But then again I’m getting old, aren’t I. Older than last year, anyway.

Quest completed

Return to Barney tomorrow.

Harold the baker, in Silverglade Village, needs some help.

Start from the Beginning

harold

Rita! I heard that it was you that saved Moorland from that terrible Mr Kembell! Well done. I was just going to start making pizza muffins when I found that I was out of flour. Would you please get some for me? You should be able to get it from Barney at the silo.

Objectives: Go to Barney at the silo and ask for some flour.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Pizza muffins? I’m intrigued…

Go back to Barney’s silo.

barney

Flour, you say? I don’t have any flour but I do have a lot of grain. Will that do?

Quest completed

______________

Mill It

barney

Here you are; if you take this to Will over at the mill, you can grind it into flour. By the way, I heard that Mr Kembell is now drilling for oil at the once beautiful Everwind Fields. Too bad.

Objectives: Speak to Will at the mill. Ask if he can grind the grain into flour.

Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP

Back up the mill hill we go!

will

Hello, what can I do for you? Oh, you want to use the mill? Sure!

Quest completed

Milled and Ready!

will

Here we have some fine flour! You better get back to that shop with it.

Objectives: Head back to the shop with the flour.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 85 XP, Nice Top

Back to the shop with you!

harold

You have my flour? Perfect! These will be some fine pizza muffins.

Quest completed

And now what you’ve been waiting for as a star rider, to learn how to jump! Justin Moorland is waiting for you at Steve’s farm.

An Obstacle to Build

justin_mooland

Hello again Rita! I was out for a tour. Checking rune stones, you know. I was hoping to see you. Just wanted to see everything is fine with you.

Oh? You have not tried to jump yet? Let’s build a simple obstacle and I’ll see if I can give you a lesson. Collect some bars from behind the barn and build into a jumping obstacle right there on the pile of wooden boards.

Objectives: Find three bars to build a jump.

Rewards: 18 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Build the jump and return to Justin.

justin_mooland

That looks nice. Not too high for you, eh?

Quest completed

______________

Learn to Jump

justin_mooland

Ok, you are sure the bar is not too high for you? Let’s try it then. From now, you will be able to jump. It’s all about timing and skill. Get your horse up to canter speed and jump just before the bar. (Press “Space”, or “O” on the keyboard to jump your horse)

Objectives: Jump over the obstacle. (Press “Space”, or “O” on the keyboard.)

Rewards: 21 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Let’s do it already!

justin_mooland

Great work! You flew over that bar! From now on you can jump whenever you want but be careful. Being able to jump anywhere can be dangerous so take care. Be responsible and careful not to hurt yourself or your horse…

Quest completed

______________

See You Later!

justin_mooland

With better experience and gear you will be able to jump even better! Try riding faster and jump over different things so you and your horse learn how to do it. Practice makes perfect!

Objectives: Keep speaking with Justin about how to be a better rider.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 75 XP

Talk, talk, talk, all we do is talk.

justin_mooland

Great, I just want to make sure you really try hard to get better! It would be cool to see you beat the other girls and climb even higher on the high scores lists! Experience and the right gear is the way to do that. That’s all for now, I will say hello to Steve and then return to Moorland Stable. Take care and see you later!
